Homemade shoe rack. Which shoe cabinet is suitable for the hallway

The weather in our latitudes often spoils us with such amenities as snow, rain, or a combination of these two beautiful natural phenomena. City dwellers are also close to cataclysms in the form of fountains. hot water in the middle of the sidewalk or fragrant rivers of waste, majestically floating along the broken sewer. Barefoot to overcome the formed " pavement” is unreasonable, so we boldly sacrifice shoes - if only the city authorities could continue to have fun with such tricks. And the problem of caring for expensive shoes confronts us in all its glory. Store options for furniture storage are not always suitable, so consider such a necessary item as a shoe rack made by yourself.

Shoe rack - an integral piece of furniture in the hallway

Basic requirements for shoes

The first and main requirement is that not only children's slippers should fit there. Chinese designs sold in furniture fittings stores are designed for elegant legs up to size forty-two - no more, verified. Our craftsmen get out of the situation, but not always successfully.

The second is mandatory ventilation. Shoes should not be visible unless it is provided for by the design of the room, as in the first and second pictures. Especially this postulate applies to those families in which there are pets. Even a toy terrier that fits entirely in the breast pocket of a shirt can turn winter boots into noodles in just a couple of hours, and absolutely silently.

Shoes can be seen only if it is provided for by the design of the room.

But, when making a shoe cabinet with your own hands, it should be remembered that in a completely closed locker, shoes “suffocate” and suffocate, especially if they are wet.

The best shoe choice

Considering the question “how to make a shoe rack with your own hands?”, I highlighted the key technical points. It should be without a bottom, suspended (to make it easier to clean under it) and always with lattice metal shelves, moreover, with an anti-corrosion coating. I prefer hinged doors rather than hinged ones. There are two active animals in the house, not counting women who can bruise themselves even on a teddy bear - and swing doors will not fall on anyone's head or foot.

The doors of our shoebox will be hinged

I took as a basis the model of a kitchen dryer for dishes, and slightly increased in height - so that tall boots stood on the shelves. When figuring out how to make a shoe rack myself, I, first of all, started from the sizes of the available metal nets for drying dishes. They are undeservedly overlooked, although they are ideal for this design. Based on the love of my young ladies for a variety of shoes, I took the upper parts (for cups and glasses) of kitchen dryers, dimensions 864x280 mm.

Metal nets for drying dishes are ideal for shoe racks

Assembly preparation

When making a shoe cabinet with your own hands, it is foolish to buy a whole sheet of chipboard, unless you plan to put their production on stream or make other pieces of furniture. Standard furniture panels are sold in any building supermarket and are already prepared accordingly - that is, sawn to size and glued with an edge. I deliberately did not put down the dimensions on the diagram, but only outlined the design itself - everyone is free to fit into required dimensions, having a fundamental drawing in front of his eyes.

Metal meshes are made to fit the standard dimensions of cabinets and meet the width following sizes: 464, 564, 764 and 864 mm. They are non-standard, but are significantly more expensive. Accordingly, if I took the shelves 864x280 mm, then the external dimensions of my cabinet will be (HxWxD) 1200x900x340 millimeters based on four shelves. In terms of depth, my forty-fifth size will fit into such a closet, taking into account the fact that I will put the nets themselves at a slight slope.

So, the details for my locker, made of laminated chipboard 16 mm thick:

  • 1184x320 mm - 2 pcs. Sidewalls. This is a standard shield used for the manufacture of small-sized wardrobes and you need to look for it in that department of the store.
  • 1195x447 mm - 2 pcs. facades. There are such details from chipboard, but you can also purchase curly MDF facades are standard sizes.
  • 900x320 mm - top cover, standard part.
  • 868x100 mm - 2 pcs. Standard tsargi, is on sale.

The back wall is made of fiberboard (hardboard) 1195x895 mm.

Shoe cabinet assembly diagram

Shoe cabinet assembly

We will assemble a shoe cabinet with our own hands using the following fittings:

  • Confirmations 5x70 mm - 8 pcs. On them we attract the kings to the sidewalls. Under the confirmations, we drill through holes with a diameter of 8 mm in the plane of the sidewalls, and at the ends of the tsarg - with a diameter of 5 mm and to a depth of about 60 mm. Try to match the holes if you want to get a decent locker out.
  • Furniture corners, metal, for self-tapping screws - 8 pcs. Four pieces are needed to install the top cover, and the rest we use instead of wall fasteners, screwing them to the back of the sidewalls.
  • Self-tapping screws 4x16. We put corners, hinges and hardboard on them. Before screwing the hardboard, make sure that the box has correct geometry- measure the diagonals, they should be equal.
  • Furniture four-hinged hinges - 4 pcs. It will be better if you do not make different distances for sampling under the hinges on the top and bottom on the facades! It's too easy to get confused. Just mark 150 mm vertically and the standard 22 mm from the edge of the door. The sample diameter for a regular furniture hinge is 35 mm.
  • Dowels, front handles - add to taste.

In general, it is already clear how to make a shoe cabinet, there are only a couple of subtleties and additional tips left.

Hang the cabinet at a height of about 120-150 millimeters from the floor and in the slushy period just put a rag under it. Naturally, it is better to put freshly oiled wet shoes on the bottom shelf. The distance from the bottom to the second shelf from the bottom must be at least 350 mm, otherwise your wife will again hang her boots on the clothesline.

I immediately ran a triple socket for electric dryers inside the cabinet - it's more convenient than turning them on in the living room or in the kitchen. Taking advantage of the opportunity, I put a telephone socket and an outlet for WiFi there - the whole apartment is “shootable”, and the dog will not get to the wires.

But most importantly, my favorite shoes now do not need to be protected from animals while they “drain”, standing on a rag. This shoe rack will not get wet by itself and will not “suffocate” the shoes.

Very often, the layout of the apartment does not allow you to install a full-fledged shoe cabinet in the hallway. As a rule, the corridors are very narrow and it is not possible to install wide chests of drawers.

On the furniture market huge selection various ready-made shoe racks and chests of drawers for shoes, but they are not always suitable in size, color and design.

A good alternative to the storage system in this case is a shoe rack with built-in shoe cabinets.

There are one-, two- and three-section systems. Depending on the number of sections, the number of shoes that will fit in ready product. The depth of the shoe rack can also change.

Today we invite you to consider the process of manufacturing and assembling a two-section shoe rack, the dimensions of which are: 1100*700*250 (W*H*D). And according to this material, you can easily make such a shoe rack with your own hands at home.

As a material for the manufacture of shoes can be:

  • MDF board,
  • chipboard,
  • Plywood,
  • Wood.

As for plywood, it is by far one of the most durable materials for making furniture. However, it requires additional processing and painting.

MDF is also highly durable. His dense structure facilitates the process of drilling and assembly of the product. But, often, if you make a shoe rack completely from MDF, the product turns out to be quite heavy and expensive. Therefore, only facades are usually made of MDF, and the entire body is assembled from chipboard.

When ordering cutting and laminating MDF, you can additionally choose milling on a plate, that is, using a special milling equipment the parts will be embossed. It will add a special style to your shoe.

AT this material we will consider the manufacture of a shoebox from chipboard 16 mm thick - for the frame, and 10 mm - for internal partitions of shoe cabinets. This material is one of the most budgetary on the market.

Due to the fact that particle boards have a wide range of colors, you can choose the color you like best or choose a decor that best matches the rest of the furniture in your home.

Our design involves the use of two colors: dark wenge (for the roof, sides, inner pillar and bottom) and wenge light color(for facades).

Of course, it is much easier to order detailing in a specialized store or workshop, since chipping cannot be avoided when sawing parts on your own. You just need to contact the furniture shop with the detailing, where they will be edged for you.

Edge trimming

At home, veneer is only possible, because for plastic need special machine and glue, which, when heated to high temperatures, provides good adhesion of the edge to the part.

  • Roof,
  • facades,
  • Sidewalls.

All internal parts, partitions in shoe cabinets can be pasted over in the same way PVC edging but 0.5 mm thick. You will need to transfer to the masters furniture shop detailing, which also indicates how to veneer the parts.

Detailing

  • Thrust bearings - 6 pcs.;
  • self-tapping screws;
  • Confirmates
  • Double-sided adhesive tape (for mounting facades).

Required tool

  • Screwdriver;
  • Screwdriver, tape measure, square;
  • Bat for confirmations;
  • Bit for self-tapping screws;

shoe rack assembly

First of all, we assemble the shoe rack frame, four main parts - two sidewalls, a roof and a bottom. The box itself can be assembled on:

  • Confirmants - here you will see the stubs from them,
  • Minifixes - the process of installing an eccentric coupler is described in more detail in the article,
  • Furniture metal corners.

It's up to you to decide what is easiest for you. I would still recommend minifixes.

After we assemble the box, you can install the internal parts.

The easiest way to fasten them to the sidewalls and bottom is to confirms, and to the roof and to each other in the center - to metal corners.

The final work on the frame will be the installation rear wall Fiberboard. In principle, you should not have anything complicated here.

It should be remembered that when mounting the back wall of fiberboard, you should always have a perfect square / rectangle with even diagonals

Shoe installation

Now we will need to install mechanisms for the shoe rack. They are attached to the sides. Below are the mounting dimensions and mounting drawings of these mechanisms:

In order to make it easier to understand the mounting dimensions and easier to install the opening mechanism for our shoe rack, you can use the drawings below.

On the sidewalls, you need to mark the attachment points for the axis of rotation and the stop pin, and you can immediately screw the panels to the sidewalls.

At our booth standard size: 192*287*85*16 . At the beginning, make a markup for the future fastening of the plastic part according to the above drawing and installation diagram (for each shoe shoe, there is always a drawing and wiring diagram its installation, according to which, in fact, it is necessary to carry out installation).

First of all, the shoebox needs to be screwed to the sidewalls of the chipboard using self-tapping screws. At the same time, pay attention to the fact that the shoe should be free to bend and return to its original position.

Now it is necessary to connect the parts from chipboard (the shoe cabinet itself), the thickness of which is 10 mm, and plastic parts shoe cabinets.

Do it step by step. That is, first you insert the parts into special grooves and screw them onto the screws to the left sidewall, then to the internal vertical partition. After that, repeat these steps with the back of the partition and the right sidewall.

At the next stage, it remains for us to install the facades, handles and thrust bearings.

glue double sided tape on a shoe cabinet, try on the facade, press and fasten.

Please note: in our detailing, the dimensions of the facades for cutting and edging are already indicated with the necessary indents and gaps of 2 mm on each side. Also, based on the assembly drawing of the shoe cabinet, the front gap from below must be at least 7 mm!!!

That is, step by step, we have:

  1. the opening for the facade in height is 326 mm.,
  2. facade height in detailing 311 mm.,
  3. when we glue the edge on the facade, we will add 2 mm on each side - it will already be 315 mm,
  4. also 2 mm will be needed for the gap,
  5. in total, it turns out that in an opening with a height of 326 mm there will be a facade with a height of 315 mm (2 mm each for a gap at the top and bottom, plus an additional gap of 7 mm at the bottom).

At the very end, it remains for us to fasten the thrust bearings and on this the assembly can be considered completed.

Shoe rack drawing

Now all the shoes in your corridor will be in place, while the folding mechanism will not interfere with free movement in the hallway.

If the dimensions of this shoe do not suit you, you can proportionally reduce or increase all the dimensions of the parts, having previously calculated how much space is needed to fit all the shoes.

Good luck to all home masters!

Even a small amount of untidy shoes in the hallway creates a feeling of untidiness and disorder. But what if the family is large and there are a lot of shoes? What if the corridor is too narrow? In such a situation, capacious and light-weight shelves for shoes will save. With their help, you can compactly place all sandals, shoes, boots and boots, saving space in the lobby. We offer to organize free space in the hallway and make a roomy shoe rack. Moreover, a do-it-yourself shoe rack is a great opportunity to show off your knowledge and carpentry skills, because its design is extremely simple.

Another positive point in favor of making your own shoe stand is the availability of materials from which you can make it. In addition, if you use the available tools and materials for its manufacture, you can significantly save the family budget.

Wooden shoe rack in the hallway - no one canceled the tradition

The tree is the most common and available material to create any homemade furniture, this also applies to shelves for shoes. There are options for making shelves from chipboard or MDF, from boards or furniture panels. You can get a budget shelf if you make it out of plywood with your own hands. Opt for quality birch plywood.

Except suitable material you need a standard set for carpentry tools:

  • hacksaw or jigsaw;
  • sandpaper or grinder;
  • drill;
  • screws and metal corners for fastening the structure or furniture ties;
  • special protective equipment for processing wooden products.

The first thing you need to think about is the drawings and diagrams of the shelf or rack you like. You can draw them yourself or find suitable ones on the Internet and fit them to your size.

So, to create a shelf for shoes made of wood, everything is prepared, you can get to work.

Shoe rack, she is also a shelf for storing shoes, should be in every home, otherwise the hallway will reign chaos. Putting the shoes on a special shelf or putting them in a drawer, you maintain order and cleanliness in the house, protect the shoes from the encroachments of pets. Furniture stores offer the widest range of similar designs, but it is not always possible to pick up suitable option for the interior, or the cost of production is prohibitive. In this article, we will look at several options for creating a stylish and functional shoe rack with your own hands.

The most important requirement for a shoe rack is the ability to accommodate the daily shoes of each family member. That is, a modest small locker is suitable for a bachelor, and for a family of 3-4 people, the size of the shoe rack should be appropriate. The main problem of shop models is that most of them were made in China, where, as you know, they have a weakness for everything miniature and compact. In this case, compactness is not synonymous with ergonomics, so you have to pick up a hammer, boards and learn how to make a shoe rack with your own hands.

Another drawback of almost all shoe cabinets offered by stores is the complete lack of ventilation. Imagine this situation - you came home rainy autumn evening Fridays, take off your shoes, put your wet shoes on the shelf and set out to spend the whole weekend at home. By Monday, when you have to go to work again, wet leather shoes will look very deplorable. Ventilation is essential to keep shoes in good condition and extend their lifespan.

So, what qualities should an ideal shoe rack have:

  1. Ergonomics - a shoe cabinet should not occupy half of the hallway.
  2. Functionality - this includes the concept of spaciousness and use for other purposes. For example, you can sit down on a locker (the role of a stool), put things (the role of a bedside table), and a shoe rack with a mirror will become a kind of dressing table.
  3. The presence of good ventilation - we do not hint that fans should be installed inside the cabinet and pipes should be laid, it is enough just to ensure the inflow fresh air natural way .
  4. Aesthetics - appearance and the design of the shoe should be in harmony with the interior.

All the schemes of shoe racks described below fully comply with these requirements.

Shoe dryer

This shoe rack will appeal to lovers of simple and practical solutions. The classic hanging dish rack was taken as the basis. Why not? The design does not stand on the floor, so you can easily clean up under it. The shelves are not solid, but in the form of stainless steel gratings, which means that through the bars such metal shoe rack water or melted snow will calmly drain, they can be quickly washed by wiping with a rag. Such furniture looks quite original and minimalist - no extra bulky doors, legs and decorative elements. This option is perfect for a high-tech apartment and loft.

Helpful Hint: If pets live in the house, it is still better to make light doors to protect shoes. To do this, use glass or plastic.

The best thing about doing it yourself is that you can set any size. So, when drawing up a shoe rack, consider which shoes you use most often. For example, if a fisherman with a size 45 lives at home, who uses high rubber boots every other day, then the dimensions of the shelf should be appropriate. The upper part of such a “dryer” can be taken away for slippers or light shoes. Dirty or wet shoes should not be placed there so that the shoes on the floor below do not suffer.

To make such a cabinet, you don’t need to buy a whole sheet of chipboard at all - ordinary furniture panels are enough. They can be found in any building supermarket, while the shields are already completely ready for assembly - they are glued with an edge and sawn into equal parts. We will specifically not write the exact height and width of the shoebox so that you create an individual drawing for your home.

The second thing to take care of is metal mesh. They are also sold in construction stores. The standard mesh widths are 46.4 cm, 56.4 cm, 76.4 cm and 86.4 cm, but custom nets can be ordered (it will cost a little more). If you take the shelves maximum width 86.4 cm, then the outer dimensions of the cabinet for 4 shelves will be as follows (HxWxD): 120x 90x 34 cm. A depth of 34 cm is enough to fit size 45 boots there.

An important point: To increase the functionality and compactness of the shelves, place them at an angle inside the cabinet. So the water will drain in a given direction, and the cabinet will take up a minimum of space.

What parts are needed to assemble a shoe rack:

  • sidewalls 118.4x 32 cm - 2 PCS(standard furniture board for the manufacture of wardrobes);
  • facades 119.5x 44.7 cm - 2 PCS(you can buy straight boards made of laminated chipboard or figured MDF facades);
  • top cabinet cover 90x32 cm - 1 PCS;
  • tsargi 86.8x 10 cm - 2 PCS(also sold in furniture stores);
  • back wall 119.5x 89.5 cm - 1 PCS(it is better to make it from thin and cheap hardboard).

It remains only to buy the necessary fasteners and assemble a shoe cabinet. You don't even have to cut anything - all the finished parts are already on sale!

Fittings and fasteners required for shoe dryers:

  • confirmat 5x 70 mm - 8 PCS;
  • metal furniture corner - 8 PCS;
  • self-tapping screws 4x16;
  • furniture hinges 4-hinged – 4 PCS;
  • dowels and front handles - at your discretion.

To work, you will need ordinary toolsthat can be found in the house of every owner - a drill, a screwdriver, a hammer.

How to assemble a shoebox:

  1. With help confirmations pull the sides to the sides of the future shoe rack. In the sidewalls for the confirmations, drill through holes 8 mm in diameter, in the end parts of the tsarg, also make holes with a diameter of 5 mm and a depth of 55 - 60 mm. Drill so that the holes line up exactly.
  2. Screw half of the number of corners to the top roof, and use the remaining 4 instead of wall fasteners, attaching them to back side sidewalls.
  3. Screw all parts with self-tapping screws. Before fixing the hardboard, check the evenness of the geometry of the box - its diagonals must be equal.
  4. Measure on the vertical sides of the facades 15 cm above and below and 2.2 cm deep. At the marked points, make holes for furniture hinges 3.5 cm in diameter.
  5. Install the doors and screw on the handles.
  6. Hang the locker 12-15 cm from the floor so that you can tidy up under it. The distance between the bottom and second shelf must be at least 35 cm to fit boots.

Helpful Hint: In rainy or snowy weather, place a drip tray under your shoe rack to keep water from dripping onto the floor.

compact shoe rack

In this chapter, we will describe step by step process creating a very original, miniature and elementary shoe rack. It will suit any interior design, and even children can be involved in the decoration process. Shoes on such a shelf look very neat, and it is simply impossible to create a heap there.

Even those who have never held in their hands can cope with the creation of such a narrow shoebox carpentry tools. You don't even have to ask your neighbor for a hacksaw - just draw up a drawing with the right dimensions and ask to cut the boards in the same building store where you bought them! The only thing you can't do without when assembling is a drill.

To build a compact shoe rack, you will need the following tools and materials (we provide dimensions for a design that will suit a bachelor or a young couple):

  • the simplest long shoe brushes with stiff bristles 160 x 40 mm - 3 - 5 PCS(depending on the length of the future shoe rack);
  • moisture resistant plywood 12 mm thick: 1020x 370 mm - 1 PCS(BUT ); 1020х 90 mm - 1 PCS(AT ); 1020x130 mm - 1 PCS (With) ; 90x 118 mm - 1 PCS(D); 1020x 60 mm - 1 PCS(E);
  • spikes 6 mm - 6 PCS;
  • wood screws;
  • building glue for wood;
  • acrylic paint;
  • moisture resistant transparent varnish;
  • brush;
  • dowels.

You can decorate the shelf not only acrylic paints, even the usual one will do gouache if it is then immediately opened with a transparent varnish. If you want to do without varnish, use enamel. And if you like a beautiful wood texture, you can simply cover the shoe rack with clear varnish, lightly tinted with stain.

How to make a shoebox:

  1. Assembly should begin with an element containing brushes. Drill 6 through holes in the edge of the plywood B.

  2. Insert six spikes smeared with glue into the holes obtained.

  3. in plywood With make exactly the same holes, coat it with glue and connect it to plywood B. It would be best to compress these elements with clamps until the glue is completely cured, or simply place some kind of load on them.

  4. Glue the sides of element D in the same way to the resulting structure. After each glue application, firmly squeeze the parts to be glued.

  5. With a hacksaw, saw off the handles of the brushes, if any (it is better to immediately buy the cheapest brushes without handles).

  6. Drill 2 through holes in each brush and screw them 1 cm from the edge of the structure with short self-tapping screws so that the hats are on inside brushes.

  7. Make through holes with a drill in the unused parts of elements A and E, as shown in the image below.

  8. Using self-tapping screws, connect all parts of the shelf to the end.

  9. Paint the shoe rack the color you want or paint different colors. In our case, we got a solid bright green design, but you can ask the younger family members to participate in the process or paint the plywood yourself. If there are no abilities for fine arts, you can do decoupage or assemble a mosaic.
  10. It remains only to drill holes in the wall for dowels and hang the shoe rack.

Shoe rack made of PVC pipes

Finally, we have prepared for you the most unusual and exciting master class on creating (let's not be afraid of this word) creative shoe rack in the hallway. With such a design, you can always keep your house clean and tidy, and even children will be happy to put their shoes “in the house”.

What is this wonderful shoe rack made of? You will be surprised, but these are the most common sewer pipes from polyvinyl chloride, which are available in any modern city apartment. They cost much less than high-quality wood or moisture-resistant plywood, while they are distinguished by an almost eternal life and ease of installation.

For one such shoe rack, you will need one sewer pipe 300 mm in diameter. Standard length such a product is 3 m. To make a roomy and deep enough compartment for an adult’s shoes, 30 cm is enough. This means that as many as 10 shelves will be obtained from one pipe.

Cutting a PVC pipe will not be special work. To do this, you can use a regular hacksaw with a fine tooth. Mark the surface with a marker and divide into 10 equal parts. Each piece of pipe one side process sandpaper to smooth out sharp edges. The second end will adjoin the wall, so grind it not necessarily.

Since such round posts very much resemble stumps or logs, we decided to decorate them accordingly - by making an imitation of birch bark. Of course, it was possible to draw it, but it is much easier and faster to paste over the pipes with wallpaper with a suitable pattern. You can decorate the shoe however you like. For a plain "gray" hallway, bright shelves are suitable rich colors, for a modest square it is better to slightly shade the shoebox by painting it black or dark brown Colour. Before painting, it is advisable to degrease PVC so that acrylic or gouache lays evenly.

It remains only to glue all the pieces with epoxy glue. First, glue 4 pieces horizontally, laying them on a flat surface. For a more secure fixation, press them together with clothespins or clips, which can be removed after the glue has set.

Glue the next 3 blanks onto 4 pipes, and then the rest like a pyramid. In fact, the sequence of gluing and the number of pipes in the rows may vary at your discretion. Epoxy glue is very durable, and if you glue the pipe well with it, it will not fall off even at an angle or on weight. So this is a great opportunity to dream up.

An alternative way to create a shoe rack with your own hands from PVC pipes in video format:

Shoe rack: photo

There are a lot of options for shoe racks, but if you don’t know what to start from, go to the nearest furniture store and take one of the proposed models as a basis. You can turn an ordinary “boring” shelf into a functional shoe rack with a seat, a mirror, a hanger, or additional drawers for brushes and creams. But before going shopping, we suggest you be inspired by the following photo selection:

Shelves from furniture stores do not always fit into the required size. Therefore, today we will try to make some original shoe shelves with our own hands.

The simplest shoe rack from old furniture

First you need to cut the boards into blanks. Standard height between shelves - 23 cm. width should be such that both women's and men's shoes fit in it - it should be 30-35 cm. Depending on the number of family members, the size of the shoe and its height may be different. The shelves in it are installed on different height: for children's and adult shoes, shoes, boots and sandals, a large shelf for boots.

Let's say we need to make a shoe rack measuring 100x35x46 cm. For it, we need three side walls measuring 35x45 cm, a top board 100x35 cm and three shelves 47x46 cm.

Shelf 100x35x46 cm

If the surface is too worn, clean first lacquer coating from boards using sandpaper or a grinder with a special nozzle. Since this produces too much dust, it is better to work on the balcony. Damaged places are puttied.

Boards are fastened together furniture corners using small self-tapping screws 12 mm long. Attached to the back of the shelf thin sheet LDVP, which is lined with cabinet furniture.

Shelf fixing

Advice. So that the shelf can be moved close to the wall, at the junction with the baseboards, the lower part of the side walls must be cut at an angle of 45 °.

Shelf made of wood or wooden slats

The principle of making wooden shoes is similar to the previous one. The only difference is in the attachment. To securely fasten the boards together, they are drilled in the side walls holes for inserting screws. The same holes are prepared on the crossbars from the end side.

The screws are screwed into the board in such a way that their hats are slightly sunk into the wood by a couple of millimeters. The holes are leveled with sandpaper and puttied. You can also hide the holes with the help of plastic plugs - they are sold in any furniture store.

To strengthen the product on its rear ends are additionally attached metal corners. Before starting work, small irregularities are cleaned with a grinder, grinder or emery.

Joining bars

Shoe box made of wood

You can darken the tree with a water-soluble or alcohol stains- a dye that gives the tree specific color. You can replace it with a regular potassium permanganate- it paints superbly wooden surfaces. In order for the coating to turn out even, the tree must be slightly moistened before painting. After painting, the product is treated with varnish and dried thoroughly.

Stain processing

Another option wooden shelf for shoes

Advice. Shoe shelf can be turned into original ottoman if you beat her upper part foam rubber and covered with a fabric of a suitable color.

Ottoman-shelf for shoes

original round shelf

1. To make a rounded shoe with a jigsaw, you need to cut round blanks. Their diameter should be about 600 cm. You can replace the compass with a nail hammered into the center with a pencil attached to it on a cord. After cutting, the edges are carefully polished with sandpaper or a grinder.

2. Now let's start manufacturing rungs. They will need 8 pieces (4 for fastening between the lower and middle blanks and 4 for installation between the middle and upper). The size of each of these parts is 160x200 mm. After cutting, they are also polished.

3. On the underside of the round blanks, mark the places where the partitions are attached. To do this, draw two straight lines with a pencil at an angle of 90 ° to each other. The intersection should fall exactly on the center of the workpiece.

4. On each line, we drill 4 holes for inserting screws. We prepare the same holes at the ends of the crossbars.

5. Now it remains to fasten the parts together and paint the shelf in any color or cover it with stain or varnish.

6. Such a shelf can be made angular, if you use only 1/4 of the rounded workpiece.

To save space in the hallway, shoe racks can be made hinged. Attaching them to the wall is easy. To do this, you need a puncher or drill, anchors (L-shaped hooks), dowels, a screwdriver and the shelves themselves:

Metal suspension (anchor)

In order for the shelves to be located strictly horizontally, we mark the wall with building level; on the resulting line we place the attachment points;

We drill the required holes in the wall;

We prepare the same holes in the shelf itself;

We insert dowels into them and fasten the boards to the wall.

Advice. It is better to drill at a slight angle to the ceiling. In this case, the fastening will be more reliable, and the shelves will fit closer to the wall.

You can also fix the shelves on the wall using metal profiles.

Shoe rack made of metal pipes and PVC pipes

An original design shelf made of metal and wood can be made in a matter of minutes. For this you will need:

Wooden, stained or painted boards;

Metal pipes;

Angular adapters;

Couplings (when using pipe cuts of insufficient length);

Plastic plugs for legs;

Rust neutralizer.

flanges for metal pipes

First, the metal must be treated against rust with neutralizer (special liquid). Next, the pipes are cut into segments, and metal structure assembled with corner adapters. Pipes are attached to the shelves with flanges. So that the metal does not rust in the future, finished structure can be painted or treated with a clear or colored varnish.

Shelf made of metal pipes and wooden planks

Such a shelf can also be made from plumbing pvc pipes . To do this, they are cut into segments of the required length, through holes are drilled in them for attaching shelves, and corners, tees or plugs (fitting connections) are put on the ends. It remains to cut the boards or fiberboard of the required size and install them on the shelves.
