Glue for mdf panels which is better. How to glue on liquid nails or attach to a wall on a wooden frame MDF panels: cladding options, choice of materials

MDF wall panels - boards made from wood fiber by dry pressing wood chips. This building material is of medium density, and to give it a high degree of strength, sawdust is mixed with urea resins and processed using high temperature and significant pressure. Finally, the MDF panel is subjected to further processing for aesthetic appeal.

Features and Benefits

MDF for walls is harvested according to the same technology, but their surface finish is always different, in this regard, several types of these wall panels can be distinguished:

  1. created using decorative finishes coatings from natural veneer. Products differ not only in excellent durability and reliability, but also in the high price.
  2. panels are the most popular and sought after of all types of material. To create these panels, pasting with melamine film is used. This allows you to simulate the structure natural wood so popular when decorating the walls of the room. To improve the appearance of the plates, they are pasted over with a high-gloss film.
  3. Technical, service rooms, workshops and garages are finished using painted MDF panels. In this case decorative coating is a layer of paint. On such models, there is no imitation of the tree structure.

MDF panels are distinguished by improved technical characteristics. When creating them, the manufacturer does not use harmful resins rich in phenol.

After crushing and processing wood chips, the resulting dust is processed under the influence of high temperature in special furnaces. The process lasts until the release of lignin, which ensures the bonding of raw materials.

The main advantages of the MDF panel are:

  • attractive price;
  • the possibility of using both for leveling the surface of walls and for decorating;
  • ease of installation without the help of a qualified specialist;
  • strength;
  • reliability;
  • resistance to mechanical damage;
  • ease of care.

There are several ways to fix MDF wall panels in the course of work related to decorating the surface of the walls inside the room. One of them requires the assembly of a frame and battens, while the other requires a special adhesive for wall panels.

Mounting on the frame

To assemble a high-quality frame and battens, use wooden bars or metal profile. Both structures are required for fastening decorative material in the design of residential and office space. The methods of attaching panels to the frame allow not only to visually change the interior space, but also to hide certain defects found on the surface of the walls. When choosing how to fix, you need to take into account the degree of unevenness of the base. Significant flaws in the form of voids, dips or bumps can be corrected with a high-quality frame and crate.

Fastening wall panels to the frame is necessary in the course of work related to leveling the surface. In rooms with high humidity, only a metal profile is used to build the frame. The construction of the crate allows for the installation of additional insulation. Do-it-yourself frame for fixing panels in dry and warm room assembled from a wooden beam: prepared wood (bars with a section of 30x40) must be installed and fixed strictly vertically around the entire perimeter of the room.

The very first (starting) profile is attached directly to the floor, the second - to the ceiling. Having installed horizontal profiles around the entire perimeter of the room, they begin to mount the vertical guides. The distance between the bars does not exceed 60 cm. This is due to the fact that the dimensions of the MDF panels are as follows:

  • width is from 153 to 200mm;
  • the length depends on which company is the manufacturer; this parameter reaches from 2 to 2.6 m;
  • thickness from 5 to 14 mm.

Installation Features

Installation of MDF panels, metal profiles or bars starts from any corner of the room by laying individual elements vertically or horizontally. If it is necessary to create additional noise or heat insulation, insulation boards are placed between the battens of the crate.

The distance between the rails in this case depends on the parameters of the thermal insulation material used. It is less than the width of the insulation by 2-3 cm, which allows you to tightly lay the mineral wool slabs.

Each MDF panel is equipped with a special groove for installing clamps and fastening to the frame. The frame itself is fixed with the help of "crabs" and brackets. Fastening MDF panels to the wall cannot be called a complicated process if the frame of the structure is assembled correctly and strictly according to the level.

When creating a crate, it is important to remember that the fasteners (self-tapping screws), or rather their length, are selected taking into account the thickness and height of the bar or profile. The self-tapping screw must be inserted into the wall to a depth of at least 40 mm.

Before constructing the frame, you need to determine the most high point on the surface of the wall and from this value set the vertical and horizontal. All work is carried out under constant supervision. building level equipped with a spirit level. It is necessary to check not only the horizontal and vertical, but also both diagonals on each sheathed wall.

The dimensions of MDF panels are of great importance when it is decided to attach them to the wall using a frame, and when performing work using a special adhesive composition, certain types of panels are chosen.

It is more difficult than to sheathe a correctly assembled frame with such panels.

Glue mounting

Before attaching MDF panels to the wall, you must:

  1. Clean the surface of any dust contamination, remnants of the old coating in the form of paint, wallpaper or cracked plaster.
  2. Re-plaster all areas to be restored.
  3. After the solution has completely dried, prime the wall for maximum adhesion.

Knowing how to fix MDF panels to the wall, you can complete all the work in the shortest possible time. It is necessary that the surface was not only carefully prepared, but also absolutely flat. It is necessary to glue the MDF panels on the wall in such a way as to ensure a complete fit and avoid air from entering under the components of the structure.

If tiled or ceramic tile is glued to the walls in one motion and cannot be dismantled and re-glued, then the peculiarity of the process of gluing MDF panels is that the future sheathing cannot be glued immediately. It must be pressed against the wall, held for a few seconds and torn off. After that, allow the glue to dry slightly and reattach the panel to the wall surface. MDF can be glued only by applying considerable force when pressing the panel.

With improper or poor-quality preparation of the wall surface for gluing MDF panels, the fixation will not be strong and durable.

Panels with adhesive applied to their surface must be laid on a clean, dry, absolutely even and smooth wall. The quality of the sheathing also depends on how correctly the first panel was glued. It must be fixed in strict accordance with vertical mark made with a plumb line or laser level level.

The final stage is the installation of plugs and other decorative elements. Internal corners fixed with glue. Its color is selected exactly to match the finishing material and applied with a thin snake, trying to avoid the appearance of excess on the panels after pressing the corner.

You can study in detail all the stages of the work by watching the video.

Interior decoration using MDF wall panels is very popular due to the many positive qualities possessed by this finishing material. This is not only an opportunity to perform all manipulations without the involvement of qualified specialists, but also to increase the strength and reliability of the structure. MDF wall panels allow you to change the interior space of the room, giving it attractiveness and increasing its aesthetics.

The adhesive for MDF panels must have the grip of a fighting dog to ensure that the finish being installed is secure. But this is far from all the requirements put forward to the qualitative composition. Next, I will voice them, and also analyze current offers of this product, put forward by manufacturers.

Mandatory qualities

More often you can find the installation of panels from fibreboard medium density per crate, but this is not a mandatory rule. It is quite possible to mount them on glue, which in some cases is even more convenient and easier.

But the adhesive solution must also have a combination certain qualities which will allow new cladding serve long and high quality:

  • Have a narrow specialization. The annotation to the composition should indicate that it is universal or intended for fixing wood products;

  • Guarantee a strong and secure "grip" on contact, as with mineral types bases, including stone, brick and plaster, and with organic ones, which are chipboard, OSB and DSP;

  • Have excellent adhesion and high speed solidification. Usually, the presence of such qualities is emphasized by adding words such as "strong", "super strong", "super strong", "multi" and so on to the name;

  • Be resistant to temperature changes, as well as to moisture, alkalis, acids and salts. At the same time, we are not talking about frost resistance, since MDF panels are not used for the purpose of facing external facades.

Extra requirement

Due to lack of experience, some novice craftsmen try to choose transparent adhesives. They justify this choice by saying that if part of the substance is squeezed out at the junction, then due to transparency it will not violate the aesthetics of the entire finish.

But there are two reasons why I do not recommend rushing with such a step:

  1. All medium density fibreboard panels are equipped with a tongue and groove fastening system. That is, at the moment of their joining, the ridge of the end of one section enters the ridge of the end of the adjacent one, which absolutely excludes the extrusion of glue from the back to the decorative one;

  1. Transparent adhesives, as a rule, are intended for gluing plumbing fixtures made of glass, stone, ceramics, faience or acrylic, but it is undesirable to use them when working with them.

Varieties

Everything is clear with the requirements, now I’ll move on to the specifics, and consider the products offered by manufacturers, which can be divided into three conditional groups:

Group No. 1: universal compounds

Perfectly fasten together heavy products made of materials such as stone, metal, glass, wood, rubber or polystyrene.

That is, they cope with almost any fixation. Here are the most prominent representatives of this group:

  1. "Titan Wild" is used for gluing almost any building materials. His approximate price is 164 rubles for a 1 liter bottle. Technical data:

  1. Titebond Multi-Purpose also has a very wide range of applications. Its cost starts from 130 rubles for a three-hundred-gram tube. Technical data:
  1. "Moment-1". In this case, for a jar with a capacity of 750 ml, you will have to pay from 190 rubles. The technical characteristics of such a composition are as follows:

But before deciding on the question of how to glue MDF panels with glue, you should also think about your own skills in this area. So, for example, the group described above, although it has high efficiency not the easiest to use. So, I turn to the analysis of the following adhesives.

Tip: In the process of gluing the MDF trim with your own hands, be sure to take care of the presence of a draft in the room and a respirator on your face.
Otherwise, you risk getting serious poisoning with toxins.

Group number 2: "liquid nails"

This option is very popular among professional builders, and among home masters, thanks to ease of operation.

Tip: I recommend immediately when buying "liquid nails" to buy immediately and special iron structure called "pistol".
Thanks to this device, the application of glue will be carried out very simply and quickly.

Here are the main proposals in this direction:

  1. "Makroflex MF220 Heavy Duty". A four-hundred-gram tube costs around 158 rubles. Technical data:

  1. "Liquid Nails LN-910". The price of such a composition in specialized stores is usually about 220 rubles. Technical data:
  1. "Crystal Moment". Here a 125 ml tube costs around 110 rubles. Characteristic:

So we can safely say that “liquid nails” are an excellent answer to the question: how to glue MDF to MDF, brick, concrete or other building materials people who touch construction works only during periods of home repair.

Group No. 3: polyurethane foam

Construction foam is usually used most often for the purpose of sealing joints or filling voids, but professionals can also adapt it for mounting sections of medium density fibreboard to walls and even. As an example, consider the brand "Orra":

A little about the process itself

Since I started talking about glue, it’s worth giving a few words to its operation:

  1. Surface degreasing. First of all, I wipe back side sections with acetone to remove any dirt or dust that may interfere with good adhesion.

Also check for drops and the wall itself:

  • Small irregularities can be compensated for with an additional amount of glue;
  • If there is a significant "waviness", then it is better to apply the leveling plaster first, since it will be too expensive financially to continue using the adhesive solution for this purpose.
  1. Applying glue. Then I apply glue in a zigzag line;

  1. Plate installation. After waiting for a certain technical break, which is indicated on the packaging, can or tube of glue used, I apply the plate to the installation site and level it by tapping with a rubber mallet. I check the result with a spirit level: if the section is fixed evenly, then I move on to the next section;

  1. Removing excess. I remove the fragments of glue squeezed out with a damp cloth. If for some reason you didn’t manage to do this right away, then it’s quite possible to simply cut them off with a sharp knife.

Also, in the process of interior finishing work, the question sometimes arises: is it possible to glue wallpaper on MDF panels? This option is allowed, but it is very important to first thoroughly prime the fiberboard so that it does not absorb glue during the cladding process.

Conclusion

Sheathing is not the only method MDF installations panels, glue may well come up. The main thing at the same time is to choose a solution whose grip will be no worse than that of a bull terrier, or even better. To date, there is a lot of such “good” on the shelves of specialized stores, but I tried to acquaint you with it at least a little.

The video in this article contains some materials that may provide you with information. Additional information related to the topic under consideration.

If you have any questions, ask them in the comments.

One of the popular facing materials for internal use, are MDF and PVC panels. This cladding has an attractive appearance, wide choice shapes, textures and shades.

Thanks to a wide range of products, consumers have the opportunity to choose the most suitable option for wall cladding in the apartment. But in addition to a successful purchase of materials, you need to know how to properly attach the panels to the wall surface.

About the benefits and scope

The main difference between PVC and MDF panels is the feedstock. In the first case, plastic is used, in the second - wood fibers. Both types of material are durable and practical. Decorative panels are used for cladding walls and ceilings, which makes them attractive. The advantages of both types of cladding are almost identical.

MDF panels

They are as follows:

  • Beautiful design.
  • Strength.
  • Profitability.
  • Ease of installation.
  • Ease of transportation.

MDF panels are not suitable for lining bathrooms, swimming pools and other areas with high humidity. In such rooms it is recommended to use PVC material. He easily bears high humidity and temperature fluctuations. Both options can be used for wall and ceiling cladding in the kitchen, balcony, loggia, hallway, corridor.

Mounting methods

MDF and PVC cladding panels can be fixed to walls in two ways:

  • On the crate with self-tapping screws.
  • Directly on the wall with adhesives.

The first method involves the initial installation of the frame on the wall. As a basis, metal, plastic or wooden profile. The profile is attached to the wall with self-tapping screws or nails.

In this case, the distance between the planks must be at least 60 cm. In places increased likelihood damage, the step between the profiles is reduced to 40 cm. After creating the crate, decorative panels are attached to the wall.

With the use of adhesives

The second installation method is much simpler and no less practical. You can glue PVC panels on the wall in the bathroom using liquid nails. A similar method is used when facing residential premises with decorative MDF panels.

Not only liquid nails can be used as an adhesive. Experts say that the construction adhesive Moment gives no worse result in the process of installing decorative wall cladding.

Surface preparation

Some argue that before gluing the panels, it is not necessary to prepare the walls and ceiling. But if you want to do quality work, it is better not to skip the preparation stage. So, before facing, the old coating should be removed. Remove dust and fungus. Repair cracks if necessary. After waiting for the putty to dry, we proceed to the treatment of the walls with a primer. What is it for?

Insect pests, fungal spores and a large number of years of dust. All this will not allow you to do quality work. In addition, if the walls are not treated and leveled, the PVC panels will not adhere properly. The primer will ensure reliable adhesion of the adhesive to the existing cleaned surface.

Let's start installation

To stick plastic panels to the wall, it is necessary to apply liquid nails or glue Moment pointwise on the back. When installing MDF panels, the method of staggered application of the adhesive composition is used. The distance between adhesive dots must be at least 20 mm.

After applying glue over the entire surface of the panel, carefully attach the sheet to the wall. The panel is pressed down, tapped and detached from the surface. This is necessary for easy weathering of liquid nails. After 5-7 minutes decorative cladding firmly fixed to the surface. We check the evenness and correctness of fastening using the building level.

Finishing corners and sockets

In order to beautifully and efficiently glue the panel in the kitchen to the wall, it is necessary to correctly veneer the corners and sockets in the process. Use for decorative corners separate element- plastic corner It can be purchased at hardware store, matching in color and texture to the main finish. Plastic corners are suitable for both MDF and PVC cladding.

At the time of finishing the wall, where the switch and sockets are located, it is necessary to carefully cut a hole in the panel for the desired element. Subsequently, the places of cuts can also be trimmed plastic corners. Since these elements do not have grooves, installation can be done using silicone. At the very last moment wall decoration in the kitchen is carried out by gluing or drilling skirting boards.

Detail step-by-step instruction gluing MDF and PVC panels is shown in the video.

Eventually

The process of wall cladding with plastic or wood panels not complicated. Before finishing, it is necessary to clean the walls from the previous coating, remove wallpaper, plaster. If necessary, the surfaces are leveled, primed. Then the decorative panels are attached to the wall using liquid nails or Moment construction adhesive. Simplicity installation work allows you to carry out facing any home master.

By far the simplest and fast way to make the walls of your home beautiful and even is the decoration with MDF panels. This solution is, of course, not suitable for all rooms, but for corridors, stairwells, closets and hallways, this material will be almost ideal. We will talk about it in this article, in which, together with the website, we will consider how the installation of MDF panels is carried out in a frame and frameless way with our own hands.

There are two ways to fix MDF panels on the walls - the so-called glue and frame. Both of these methods are good and are used depending on the circumstances. If the decoration of the walls with MDF panels provides for the hiding of any communications, then the frame method of fastening the MDF is used. If we are talking about finishing smooth walls, then the adhesive method is used.

Installation of MDF panels: frame installation method

The very name of this method speaks for itself - for its implementation, you will need to build a frame, which in some way resembles the design that is used for. The difference lies only in the position of the carriers - if they are installed vertically to fasten drywall sheets, then MDF provides horizontal arrangement profiles. In this regard, there are also features of the construction of such a frame.

In principle, at the first stage, everything happens in a similar way - the plane of the future frame is beaten off, then guide profiles are attached along the perimeter of the wall, on the floor, ceiling and adjacent walls. This is where the differences begin. AT given plane vertical bearing profiles cd are installed not through 600mm, but through 3000mm, which is standard length carrier profile.

Installation of MDF panels: frame method

This is done in order to subsequently install horizontal cd bearing profiles between them, the pitch of which is 500 mm. They are connected to vertical profiles using crab cd connectors, and fixed to the wall with the same U-shaped brackets.

Mounting the frame is the main work in the process of installing MDF panels. Mounting itself is an easier process that almost everyone can handle. MDF panels are attached to the frame using clamps (special clips). The clamper itself is inserted into the groove located at the end of the panel before being attached to the frame, thus ensuring their secure fixation to the frame. The kleimers are designed so that they do not interfere with inserting the next panel into the groove.

Do-it-yourself installation of panels on glue: installation features

Mounting MDF panels on walls with glue is much easier - the entire installation process is greatly facilitated by the absence of a metal or wooden frame, the construction of which takes a lot of time.

Installation of mdf wall panels photo

Before proceeding with the direct fastening of the panels, first we will deal with the glue that is used for these purposes. Or what kind of glue is not suitable here - you need a composition that has certain qualities.

  • Firstly, the glue must be plastic even after hardening - the fact is that MDF panels made from pressed cardboard are highly susceptible to deformation depending on the temperature and humidity in the room. Therefore, an adhesive is needed that can quench these very thermal expansions.
  • Secondly, the adhesive used for MDF panels should help them to fasten even in places where the walls are slightly curved. That is, the texture of the glue should make it possible to spread it as thin layer, and thick - in a word, it should be thick enough. The so-called "", which are successfully used to solve the question of how to mount MDF panels, are the best fit for these requirements, almost all masters.

Liquid nails for mounting mdf panels photo

The installation of panels with glue itself looks quite simple - its technology is almost completely described on a tube with Liquid Nails glue. It is not recommended to break it. To begin with, the walls pasted over with panels must be cleaned of dust and dirt - in principle, if you are going to seriously engage in self-repair, then the priming process, which is performed to clean the walls from dust and dirt, and at the same time to improve the adhesion of materials, should become your habit. Priming always, everything and everywhere.

Primer walls before mounting MDF panels photo

After the primer has dried, proceed to the direct gluing of the panels. In the meantime, it dries, you can do other preparations - for example, cut several dozen panels to size.

The glue is applied directly to the panel itself in a dotted manner and in a checkerboard pattern - the glue drops should be large. After the adhesive has been applied, the panel is pressed against the wall, firmly tapped and torn off. This is required by the gluing technology - it is necessary to tear off the panel so that the glue is weathered and the panel does not peel off from the wall under its own weight. To speed up the process and make the installation of MDF panels with your own hands faster, you can immediately, one after another, smear up to a dozen panels, attach them to the wall and tear them off. While the glue is weathered, it is allowed to smoke - after five minutes, the panels can be hooked onto the wall again and slammed down.

How to glue mdf panels on the wall photo

It is easy to glue the panels - it is much more difficult to cut them evenly and with high quality. In this respect Special attention it is necessary to pay attention to slopes and similar obstacles that get in the way of mounting MDF panels. It should be understood that the appearance of the room depends entirely on the even trimming of the panels.

Installing mdf panels on walls

Well, in conclusion, let's dwell on the main nuances of installation, which are typical for both methods of fastening MDF panels.

  • First, there are the corners. It should be understood that bending MDF panels will not work, so they are simply cut as close to the corner as possible, after which the cut edges are safely covered with a special corner that can be used for both external and internal corners.
  • Secondly, this is a frame - the lowest horizontal profile should lie on the floor. In this way you will ensure secure fastening skirting boards.
  • Thirdly, in order to avoid distortion in the future, the first panel must be installed in accordance with the vertical level and firmly fixed with self-tapping screws in places where they will subsequently overlap (at the bottom with a plinth, at the top of the ceiling, in the corner with a decorative overlay). It is desirable to check the position of the panels with a level in the future - everything should not be controlled in a row, but it is necessary to apply it to every fifth panel.

That's basically it. This is how MDF panels are installed. This process is not complicated and not simple, as, in general, any finishing work, in which your attitude to the little things plays an important role, which together affect the overall picture of the repair. Simply put, there are no trifles in this matter.

MDF panels are widely used for wall decoration, which is explained large quantity their benefits. This material is characterized not only by its attractive appearance, but also high level environmental friendliness.

Its use ensures simplicity. Do-it-yourself MDF on the wall does not require special skills, it is enough to familiarize yourself with the general rules.

What is MDF

MDF is the Russian-language version of the abbreviation MDF, which stands for Medium Density Fibreboard, that is medium density fibreboard.

In the production process, dry pressing of the mass from the smallest components is used. It consists of sawdust and wood shavings. In order to properly manufacture the panels, the material is subjected to pressure and high temperature.

The mass is associated with the use of urea resins, which are modified with melamine. This eliminates the possibility of formaldehyde evaporation.

Since the panels are classified as environmentally friendly clean materials, they are allowed to be used for interior decoration. Wall panels are fastened by analogy with natural wooden clapboard. In the process of manufacturing building materials, resins and phenol are not used, which provides them with a high level of safety. With outside panels can be covered various materials. In most cases, it is application of laminated film, which in its own way appearance similar to marble, wood and others natural materials. Also upper layer may consist of thin veneer valuable breeds wood or relief coating.

Attention! This material has excellent technical characteristics, which makes it possible to install them in various rooms.

Before attaching MDF panels to wall surfaces, it is worth deciding on their pros and cons. The benefits include:

  • Simple and convenient installation. Fastening MDF panels to the wall is carried out using a frame. It can be either horizontal or vertical.
  • Excellent.
  • Wide range of colors to choose from best option in a certain case.
  • Attractive appearance.
  • Ease of maintenance. Simply wipe the surface with a damp sponge.
  • Affordable cost.

Also, this material is characterized by the presence of certain disadvantages. Under the panels, the walls are hollow. That is why, if it becomes necessary to fasten any object, it is recommended to use special dowels.

per material negatively affected by dampness and external influences mechanical nature. The material is characterized by instability to combustion. The panels form a smooth solid wall.

That is why there are recesses at the joints. Use of material for exterior finish not recommended.

Before fixing MDF panels, you need to choose the right one. In this case, it takes into account specifications material. It is recommended to choose MDF in accordance with certain conditions. In this case an important factor is the availability of material resources in a person.

Important! Before attaching MDF panels, you need to find out their features. This will allow you to finish the room with high quality and for a long time.

The tasks that are planned to be performed using this type of finish are also preliminarily determined. First of all, they are determined with the project, which will allow choose the most suitable color . In accordance with the characteristics of the premises, the material is purchased with a preliminary assessment of its fire and moisture resistance. In order to comply hygiene standards, it is recommended to use plates with a protective coating.

Ways of fastening MDF panels

Installation of MDF panels on the wall can be carried out different ways. To carry out the work, additional materials will be needed, the features of which depend on the method of attachment. It can be glue or frame.

Both methods are used to install panels in private houses and apartments. When using the adhesive method, it is important that the wall has a perfectly flat surface.

That is why her pre-leveled with drywall or plastering method. Installation of finishes in this way requires the use of a minimum amount of auxiliary materials- glue and fittings.

The frame under the slabs provides the ability to hide communications or insulation. For its manufacture, a metal profile or is used. In order to simplify the mounting of the MDF panel on the wall, the use of the second type of material is recommended. The plates are fastened to it using stapler staples or nails. If a metal profile is used, then fastening is carried out using metal screws.

There are a variety of mounting methods, which allows the master to choose the most suitable option for himself.

Horizontal mount

The use of a horizontal mount is one of the most simple methods. In this case, the use of wooden blocks is recommended.

Before fastening this material its necessary check with building level. Installation is carried out in a horizontal direction parallel to each other. Through the bars, holes are drilled into which plastic dowels are hammered.

Installation of fasteners should be carried out at a distance of 35-40 centimeters. The choice of the length of the dowels should be approached as responsibly as possible. They should go into the thickness of the wall by 5-6 centimeters, which will ensure the reliability of installation. At the final stage, building materials are fastened to the walls using self-tapping screws.

Fastening without rails

If carried out MDF mount panels to a wall without rails, you will need build metal carcass . In this case, it is necessary to purchase a metal profile. If it is necessary to strengthen the structure, then inside the metal profile is embedded wooden beam. In order to fix the profile, metal suspensions are used.

If the fastening of the frame under the MDF is carried out to wooden wall, then you can use wood screws. When using other materials, dowel-nails are used.

If wall cladding is carried out with door or window openings, then this requires the installation of appropriate guides along their edges. Initially, the cladding is fastened to them, and after that - slopes and platbands.

Before you start fixing MDF to metal profile, it is necessary to carry out securing all communications. On the this stage the location of sockets and switches is determined. Installation should start with preparatory work. Panels must be cut according to the height.

In this case, a building corner and a tape measure are used. The material is cut with a manual vertical circular or electric jigsaw. In order to achieve the ideal vertical, the first panel is leveled. For fastening use self-tapping screws with a flat cap.

How to glue MDF

Before gluing MDF, you need to make sure that the walls are perfectly even. It is also worth responsibly approaching the choice of glue. The package should indicate that this is the glue for MDF panels. When choosing a composition, it is recommended to give preference to the option that is characterized by high level of adhesion which ensures ease of installation.

In order to achieve a sufficiently reliable fastening, it is required to apply the adhesive composition only on a flat, dry and fat-free surface. The use of a standard or mounting compound is carried out pointwise. In this case, the drops should be large enough. It is also allowed to apply the composition in zigzag movements.

In order to perfectly fit the plates, the master has 10-15 minutes. After that, the composition will harden, and it will be impossible to correct the situation. Removal of surplus should be carried out immediately with alcohol or a damp sponge. If the glue has hardened, then it can be cut off with a sharp knife.

It is possible to glue the plates to the surface and construction foam. In this case, the base is pre-moistened using a spray gun. At the next stage, the composition is applied to the base and evenly distributed over the wall. The plate is applied to the wall and pressed. After that, it is advised to tear it off and attach it again. The surface is carefully tapped and left to dry completely.

Important! Glue is a poisonous multi-component composition, so it is recommended to be extremely careful when working with it.
