How to fence off neighbors in the country. Is it possible to isolate oneself from neighbors with a solid fence in a private house? Plants on poles

When I sit in a sun lounger in the country, I don’t want the neighbors to see my swimsuit or discuss how much time I spend in idleness on my site. I don't want to see my neighbor in pajamas or swimming trunks.

Many summer residents erect high fences. But in small areas from the fence often more harm than good.

Once my husband and I got into the car and drove around our region. We didn't go to elite villages, no, we went to ordinary summer residents, if they could talk with the owners of the site they liked, and talked. And as a result, they began to create comfort on their site at will, taking into account the advice of those with whom they managed to talk.

We started with the lawn. Today you can buy a lawn not just for suburban area or country house, but even pick up a lawn for a playground or for other recreation areas.

1. Selection of plants. It is necessary to find out from reference books, on websites whether the plant that you want to plant is suitable for your climate, it needs full sun, or it can.

2. To create green screens, you need to choose big plants. Initially, these plants are more expensive. But the desired effect can be achieved much faster. It is important to imagine what the selected plant will be like in 5-10 years. Evergreen large-sized trees can also be planted from the road. But to separate the greens open veranda from the whole area is better with smaller plants.

3. Do not plant all plants of the same species in one line, side by side. A pest will attack or a disease will be attached, and all your pets will become sick. They will infect each other. And we must remember that plants do not grow in orderly rows in nature. For a more natural effect, plants should be planted in groups to create "wilds". Zigzag multiple deciduous shrubs, a couple of evergreens and a cluster perennial herbs along the border of your site.

4. When planting plants, decide exactly what you want to hide from your eyes. Try on the plant so that the dirty side of the neighbor's garage or something else is not visible.

The “natural” setting outside the perimeter of the site may not be too impressive: an empty field, an ugly ravine, a clearing with weeds, a washed-out road, a drying tree, etc. But this is not the worst option! From the site, a view of the barn or toilet of a neighbor, a “warehouse” of building materials, a high-voltage pole can open. But this can also be dealt with.

1. Close unwanted views. Arrange tall trees and shrubs, as well as all sorts of garden structures so that from different significant points plot, as well as from the windows of your house, such "beauty" was not visible. Do not forget that the composition must be harmonious. Use the same types of plants that grow outside the site and are viewed from it. This will completely mask the unwanted look. For example, if there is a birch nearby, the best thing is to plant a few birches on the border of the site, then they will make a natural, pleasing to the eye and reasonable composition. If you use something atypical, the eye will involuntarily “cling” to an “object” that is uncharacteristic of the landscape.

2. Distract attention. Sometimes an unwanted view cannot be completely closed - due to its complex location or too large size. There is only one way out: to divert attention, not to let the gaze concentrate on it.

Make your site decorative: add a few catchy, maybe even whimsical elements, add a couple of bright splashes of color. This is exactly the case when some “bust”, even “kitsch”, is good.

For example, a fully mirrored flower bed, a support for plants in the form of a huge floor lamp, a massive sculpture or a fence for a flower garden made of colored concrete posts will become ideal solution problems: the eye will be attracted to unusual elements.

How to make a fence from neighbors

So, my dear readers, let's talk about the neighbors, that is, how to properly and beautifully fence off from them. True, neighbors are different, but there are those who are better off not showing their “good” in the yard. I personally have good neighbors. The exhaustive one is enough for us: Good morning' or 'Hello!'. But time flies, we are always doing some kind of repairs, rebuilding, cleaning, making a “marafet” in the yard, especially with the advent of spring, the working season. This also applies to our neighboring fences, fences. When it comes time to change the fence, there may be some problems in the correctness of this fence. Sounds strange, but there is a reason for this.

In order not to spoil relations with neighbors, before putting up a fence, you need to inform them about this. Moreover, most often when installing a fence, you will also need to stomp on their territory. If they have near the border of the territory green spaces, then you need to discuss where you can walk, and what is desirable to get around. Otherwise, we are always indignant at the neighbors, and after installing the fence, we can leave it on their territory ourselves construction garbage. (photo hedge fence from neighbors)

Now there is a fashion for profiled sheets - metal, "deaf", smooth or embossed, different heights and colorings. Most put them on themselves, and preferably higher! True, the high fence is impressive, isn't it? But in a high, “deaf” - that is, without gaps, holes, etc., there are many minuses in the fence. So, such a fence can create a wind well - this is when the wind creates turbulence, and not the fact that it is not on your side. Here you can read about how to protect yourself from strong wind, creating fences - out of order. material or green spaces - how to protect the site from the wind.

Well, since we are landscape designers, gardeners, then maybe we need to pay more attention to green spaces - otherwise you can block yourself in brick and profiled sheets, grow a tree with difficulty and run around it: “Look, I'm a master, I can!”))) Much nicer than the rustle of leaves, spring bloom, offering us, hard workers, as a gift of fruits, nuts, berries, fruits for our care and love for natural beauty! ... So I suggest planting plants as a fence - they also let the air through well, without creating air stagnation in the garden, but also protecting strong winds. In this case, the fence should be, but not high and not “deaf” - and it can be a chain-link, picket fence, wattle fence ... It will protect your site from the penetration of domestic animals, poultry from neighboring areas. (photo fence from a garden mesh)

If you want to isolate yourself from annoying neighbors, then here you need to think a little. Often people complain that the neighbors have built a high fence, the reverse side of which does not look at all aesthetically pleasing, and besides, the fence on their site creates a shadow in which nothing grows! This is not good. For such seemingly minor problems, neighbors spoil relations forever. So maybe it's better not to do these problems? If you want to install a fence, then by law, the fence that separates your and your neighbor's plot must be transparent or not "deaf" so as not to create a shadow. Good options are wooden fences (picket fence, not edged or edged board) or a chain-link mesh, which, in turn, can also be veiled so that it is not completely transparent, but also looks aesthetically pleasing. The best option is to plant it. You can plant climbing plants, vines that will delight the eyes of not only yours, but also the neighbor's. Here on this link you can read about curly and creepers in the garden.

Just such fences that look aesthetically pleasing from both sides can improve relations with neighbors! But about planting trees and bushes as a fence, I will say this: always find out the diameter of the adult crown of the tree that you want to plant as a fence. If the crown of the tree “climbs” onto the neighbors’ plot, then they have the right to cut branches or, even better, collect fruits and nuts that are on their territory. Therefore, it is better to plant tall, but not wide-growing trees! For example, we install a chain-link mesh, next to it (we retreat half a meter from the mesh) we plant cypress trees at a distance of 2 meters from each other, between cypress trees near the mesh itself, you can sow curly and creepers (I recently met dolichos liana - how it blooms, so tenderly lilac color ... oh ...), curly and creepers will just close the space between the cypress trees and the neighbors, to see what you are doing, you will need to open the “peephole” in the green with your fingers. Well, if they are so arrogant, then you do not lag behind, if you notice espionage - just do not pay attention and do everything you did before - they will see enough and it will no longer be interesting to them. After all, they already know everything about you. Just drop by when you want to know more!

To draw attention not to your yard affairs, but to the fence itself, you can decorate it. Here already a child can help, they have a developed imagination. by the most simple decoration there may be green plastic bottles with a cut off top (where the lid is), and decorated with moisture-resistant paints. Draw their eyes, nose, mouth. And preferably with an expression, so that they all have different emotions. Do not forget that only good emotions should be drawn to the neighbors.) They are put on fence posts. Green bottles among the greenery are not noticeable, but the painted faces will give the fence "character". I would also buy a sculpture or carve a cat out of Styrofoam. Naturally, the foam also needs to be decorated. And there, on the fence. Imagine what a shock the neighbor's cats will have! It's all psychological tricks- show eyes. If eyes are drawn on the fence on some element, facing the neighbors, then the neighbors subconsciously will not want to look at your yard, because they are “monitored” .... (photo wooden fence between plots)

Near the fence, which is not desirable to arrange gatherings next to the neighbors, you do not need to put up benches, gazebos, or place playgrounds. Because the words you or your children say may not be interpreted by the neighbors in the correct sense. Well, you know, I have such neighbors that I'm not afraid to talk about something so that they hear - and they can assent, ask again, inform, and this is even nice!) But if the neighbors misunderstand you, then in such places it is better to install household buildings, garages, greenhouses, or plant a garden in which you came - worked, picked fruits in the fall, that is, it is desirable to make these places workers in which you need to do something. Often people are not attracted by the work of others, especially if you don’t talk, you don’t gossip, a person works, there is no time! But to eavesdrop on a conversation while relaxing in the gazebo - it is quite possible. (photo of a plastic fence between the plots)

Now for some official information. Legislation erecting a fence between neighbors.

Few people know that the Town Planning Code of the Russian Federation regulates not only construction, but also the planning of any structures and buildings on the territory of a plot of land. It does not contain any clear indication of a categorical prohibition or, conversely, the need to place a blank fence between two neighboring houses. Typically, in this case, sanitary norms and the rules that are announced in the SNiP, and also apply to the SNT.

But, it should be borne in mind that the administration of the local district where you live may have its own rules and regulations for construction, which also apply to the construction of fence structures. In addition, you may even need a building permit from the local government. Be sure to obtain the written consent of the residents of all neighboring houses. Remember that if the owner of a certain land plot, then the new owner has full right tear down the fence or demand to do so.

There is such an unspoken rule that says that the poles should be located on the very border of the two sites, or on the side of the person who erects the fence. The crossbeams of the fence should be on the territory of the owners of this fence and not protrude into the territory of neighbors. It is strictly forbidden to enter the territory of neighbors; need to calculate the distance between supporting pillars fence.

If the situation is the opposite - your neighbor wants to build a blank fence between yours and his site, then you must understand what standards he should not violate. Based on SNiP, all individual sections must be fenced, while the fence should not be mesh or lattice. In height, it should not be higher than one and a half meters. If you notice that the installation of a blind fence is against the law and infringes on the rights of neighboring landowners, then you need to urgently contact the horticultural department with a written application.

Most likely, the dispute can be settled amicably, otherwise you will have to file a lawsuit with the court. Remember, however, that then you will need to prove violations by your neighbors of your rights. For example, you can prove that a neighbor with his fence will obscure some part of your site that you intended for growing crops, flowers, grapes, etc. As proof of this, you can present an act of violation of the law, which is drawn up on the basis of the results of a forensic examination (the customer pays for it himself).

If the experts unambiguously decide on the violation current rules and norms, then the court will 100% decide in your favor. In addition, the court also obliges the defendant, who in this case is your neighbor, to reimburse the costs that you have to incur in connection with the payment for the services of experts.

Instructions for installing a fence between sites.

So you armed with all necessary knowledge regarding regulations and know your rights. Below is step-by-step instruction negotiating with neighbors and installing the fence itself.

  • Coordination of plans with neighbors. If you are planning on fencing your front or back yard, you don't have to discuss your intentions with your neighbors. Moreover, there is no need to ask for any permission for a construction project. However, in order to strengthen relations with neighbors, as well as to avoid misunderstandings in the future, you must first talk with them about your plans and intentions. This will clearly define the boundaries of the property and save you from claims to each other. If you are lucky, then the neighbors will support your idea, it is possible that they will even be ready to help you not only physically, but even financially.
  • Determination of site boundaries and calculation of materials. Determine the line of your property, make sure the location of your future fence, set aside correct dimensions and calculate the quantity and cost of materials. This will save you some embarrassing confusion later on when you start installing the fence. It will also help you to be fully equipped when negotiating with neighbors, especially when they wonder if you are going to take part of their territory.
  • Inform about the construction of the fence. No need to plan to formally inform your neighbors about the implementation of your construction project. Just when you see them in next time, allegedly accidentally tell about the intentions to build a fence. Be sure to tell them exactly what type of fence you want to build, and from what material. They can even make your choice and help you with payment or installation. Keep in mind that this turn of events is only likely if you notify your neighbors of your intentions well in advance.
  • Learn to negotiate. It may happen that your neighbors do not like the idea of \u200b\u200bbuilding a fence, or they are not satisfied with the height and other factors. If this happens, arrange a meeting at which you will discuss all their claims against you. Learn to negotiate correctly so that in the end, the neighbors agree with you and want to participate in the construction. Do not be too principled, in some details you will need to give in to them.
  • Contact a lawyer. If your neighbors are very conflicted people and do not want to compromise for anything, you will have to contact a lawyer. He will help draw up a document according to which your neighbors will be required to pay a certain amount for the construction of the fence.
  • Respect the interests of other people. Your neighbors are people just like you. Respect their interests and they will treat you the same.

And in the end I wish you good neighbors. Fence fence, you can’t protect yourself from gossip, they can be invented anyway. But if you want to build a fence, then make it pleasant not only for yourself, but also ennoble the side that will be from the neighbors. And they'll lose interest in peeking at you. So you catch "two birds with one stone" at the same time!

I hate profiled sheets mainly for their ugly appearance. In the second place - for absolute opacity. Here, enjoy. April month. In the foreground, a large snowdrift is snow from the road. But along the fence - just snow, which just fell, and then did not melt, because the fence was shaded and cold.

I am in favor of making the fences more transparent. At the same time, I understand that it is not very pleasant to live always in sight. But why fence off your children from the neighbors? Why fence off from neighbors down the street, with whom it is so pleasant to exchange a few words during the evening promenade? Why lock yourself up in a dreary yard for prisoners to walk around (some even put barbed wire on top)? Why not cover, hide only those corners of the garden in which you want to retire? Veranda at home. Bath terrace. Cozy reading nook. And leave the rest of the plot area open to the sun, the admiring glances of passers-by, and allow your own gaze not to constantly rest against the wall.

This year we are planning to expand the house, and with it, the reconstruction of the veranda. In the middle of summer, at the first stage of reconstruction, our veranda looked like this

In addition to the purely aesthetic aspect, there is also a practical one. For example, my neighbors have a perimeter fenced with a fence made of profiled sheet two meters high. Yes, I can't see them from below. But from the windows of the second floor, their site is perfectly visible. Whole, Besides! one and a half to two meters directly adjacent to the fence. That is, if such an impenetrable to the eye, but more attractive fence stood close to the recreation area, then it would not be visible from the second floor either. And now she is at her fingertips. Think about it :)
So. Until this spring, our veranda was open on three sides. Actually, it's just an elegant polycarbonate canopy. The fourth side is adjacent to the house. When construction began on the neighboring site, and the workers there, in between, having nothing to do, were constantly staring at what I was doing there, I hung a curtain on the other side. Striped Gulsporre from IKEA. In addition to the wonderful stripes, what I liked about these curtains is that they slightly shade, while letting in light, you can’t see anything through them, and they are made of 70% polyester, and therefore dry quickly and they don’t get terrible black mold - a thunderstorm any cotton textiles left by me on the street, even under the roof. All summer long they blabbed along the edge of the veranda, they were pretty messed up, but then they were perfectly washed in the machine the first time.

I write about curtains in such detail because this is the easiest option to isolate the veranda from prying eyes. Simple, elegant, cozy and mobile. They can be changed at least every week, according to your mood. Just be sure to pay attention to the composition of the fabric, because pure cotton, as I said, does not behave well in wet weather.
Here, look how beautiful and opaque.

And here is a good idea, how to fix the curtains from below so that they do not sway too much in the wind.

.
I also like the combination of tapestries with curtains. Like here, for example. I definitely use

And another wallpaper. With flowers. In fact, this fine grating only seems completely transparent. From the inside, through it, it is beautiful to survey the surroundings, but from the outside, from a certain distance, it is hard to see.

And, of course, different fences. You will be surprised how many options for fencing can be made from ordinary boards and slats.

It is impossible not to mention, of course, hedges and climbing plants. Someone may object that they are opaque only in the warm season. But in winter, rarely anyone sits on the negligee street, maybe it’s not scary that in winter the veranda is visible 🙂

For some reason, I almost did not find pictures with blinds on the verandas. And it seems to me that this a good option, because it allows you to create multiple use cases. Maybe they misbehave outdoors?

.

And a few more ideas in different styles. I like them less, but suddenly someone will like them.

Here, for example, is a screen made from old doors. AT country style or shabby chic will fit perfectly.

I DON'T KNOW HOW YOU ARE, BUT WE ARE IN SNT OBSERVING A PHENOMENON THAT HAS CHARACTERATED AN EPIDEMIC. WE ARE TALKING ABOUT DEAF METAL FENCES FROM PROFESSIONAL FLOORING, WHICH REPLACE THE USUAL FINGER AND NETTING. THESE MISANTROPICAL STRUCTURES NOT ONLY DISTROY THE LANDSCAPE, BUT ALSO HIDDEN FRONT GROUNDS FROM EYE…

How was it before in old-house bridges and rural settlements? Life passed in full view of the neighbors, everyone communicated with each other, shared news and bowed at a meeting. Behind unpretentious wooden picket fences, the indispensable golden balls bloomed. Now hiding behind the high iron fences, the people quietly sit out in their area, motivating their behavior by the fact that "no one sees" them.

With sadness, one can watch how cute rural front gardens are hidden behind high fences and gradually disappear. My attempt to hold a photo shoot in the neighboring regional center to capture the “leaving nature” ended in a complete fiasco: where asters and dahlias were blooming a few years ago, my gaze was fixed on a blank fence.

I want to warn fans of a secluded existence: a metal fence in a small area has a lot of negative points. For example, behind a blind fence, any intruder who quietly made his way to your garden is free to do whatever he wants: you can’t see anything. And even the most vigilant neighbors will not be able to tell where to go.

In addition, in a small area with such a monumental fence, the natural ventilation system is disturbed, so in summer it is several degrees hotter, and in winter, respectively, colder. For this reason, in the very first year after the installation of a new fence, all phloxes and clematis froze out in our neighbor. And you don’t even have to think about planting something next to the fence in order to hide its unsightly underside: few plants can stand the proximity to a “hot frying pan”. However, nothing can be grown in the deaf shade from a metal stack.

With the establishment of such an industrial fence, as if in an industrial zone, of course, there is no need to maintain front gardens: after all, no one sees them anyway! Some gardeners, taking advantage of this, take out compost heaps(!), not at all caring about aesthetics. The explanation for this is given as follows: "so that the place does not disappear."

Some summer residents, having acquired a newfangled fence, are still nostalgic for the old times, and in some places on the outside of the site they plant lilac bushes or sow annuals in order to at least slightly cover the soulless essence of the metal fence.

vesicle

So maybe come up with something more suitable to isolate yourself from the busy world? For example, plant hedge. Lots of options, different taste and wallet. Most economical option- hedge from the viburnum vesicle (Physocarpus opulifolius). This unpretentious ornamental shrub grows quickly, reaching a height of three meters in three years, cut (for formal style lovers), drought-resistant and does not get sick. There are several varieties with leaves of different colors. For example, "Diabolo" is a very showy style variety), drought tolerant and disease free. There are several varieties with leaves of different colors. For example, "Diabolo" is a very showy cultivar with dark purple leaves. It blooms with pinkish inflorescences, which then turn into bright red brushes of fruits resembling small tulips.

Because the dark bushes in in large numbers look gloomy, it is good to dilute them with other varieties, for example, yellow-leaved "Aureus" ("Luteus").

You must mean that both purple and yellow leaves even with a slight dimming, they change color to normal, green. They need open sun. Therefore, if you wish to cover the unsightly innards metal fence, in its deaf shadow it is unlikely to succeed.

Deren

Spectacular hedges are obtained from white deren (Cornusalba), of which there are also many varieties. For example, "Elegantissima" with white-green leaves forms a very elegant hedge.

But! This hedge needs regular and fairly heavy pruning to keep it looking neat, as all the turfs spread their branches randomly in all directions. But the haircut definitely suits them - the hedge is getting thicker every time. In addition, pruning stimulates the growth of bright young shoots that adorn the garden in winter.

ECONOMY HEDGE

At all cheap option- plant an ordinary species vesicle with green leaves, especially since it is well cut. However, the rest are also cuttings and sown throughout the site, so that there will be no shortage of planting material - you still have to distribute it to neighbors like kittens.

barberries

If you are concerned about the safety of the site, plant thorny shrubs, such as barberries, on its borders. There are a great many varieties, you only need to inquire about the height of the bush in adult form when buying. Good for these purposes Ottawa barberry (Berberis x ottawiensis) "Superba", which grows up to 3.5 m tall. The foliage is purple-violet, turning crimson in autumn. It blooms with catkins of yellow flowers with a smell that is rather unpleasant for humans, but attracts insects.

Hawthorn

Hawthorn is traditionally used for hedges. All its types are quite unpretentious, resistant to freezing, durable. Edible fruits are useful for cardiovascular diseases, you can make tincture from them. Huge thorns make the barrier of hawthorn insurmountable. In spring, the hedge stands as if in a lacy yen: it blooms so profusely! It is no less decorative in autumn, covered with scarlet tasty fruits. It is also regularly formed, and when the “legs” are exposed, the bushes are planted on a stump. From this procedure, the hawthorn is rejuvenated for another ten years in advance. The only drawback is that it will take at least 10 years to form a full-fledged hedge. Therefore, you need to be patient.

roses

An option that does not require large labor costs for care is a hedge of park roses. The only condition is that the plants must be self-rooted, capable of producing shoots that replace old shoots. It is necessary from time to time to remove dried branches and every few years in the spring to add compost or aged manure. That's all care. Important point- this hedge cannot be cut and trimmed, otherwise it will not bloom. And roses will eventually form a wide spreading shaft of fragrant bushes up to 2 m high, which will bloom from June until frost.

The prickly rose (Rosa spinosissima) and modern hybrids of the river are good for hedges. wrinkled (R. rugosa). This is enough winter-hardy species who do not need shelter. In the German nursery of Kordes relatively recently in 2007) a whole series of hybrids was bred based on the r. wrinkled under the common speaking name Roadrunner (translated as "running along the road"), since these roses can grow in the most adverse conditions along highways. They are absolutely winter-hardy and also do not need shelter. All of them (Pink Roadrunner, Purple Roadrunner, White Roadrunner, Romantic Roadrunner) are distinguished by excellent health and high bush density, although its height is no more than 1 m. These roses are also unusually fragrant, which makes them welcome guests in the garden.

For hedges, you can also use old, proven varieties of park roses - Maiden's Blush, Koniginvon Danemark, Rose de Resent. You can also choose park hardy roses Canadian selection.

Grape

From noise and dust perfectly protects the wall of girlish grapes, whose leaves turn crimson in autumn, creating a stunning but beautiful picture. There is only one condition - the fence along which the vine will twist must be very strong.

The most presentable option would be a thuja hedge. For these purposes, as a rule, columnar varieties of western thuja are chosen (Thuja occidentalism "Smaragd" with bright green needles, "Columna" dark green or "Brabant" with golden tips of the branches. They all grow up to 5-7 m tall, unpretentious hardy. To form a dense fence, starting from the third year after planting, the arborvitae are sheared, giving them desired shape. You just need to understand that such a fence is very obliging.

She does not fit in with the typical wooden house on six acres, a greenhouse and a garden. She is more in line with an estate with a perfect lawn, a mixborder, a large paving area and a representative stone house. Otherwise, the hedge will look ridiculous.

Care such a barrier away outside world practically does not require: thuja do not burn from spring sun, do not drop foliage, keep their shape. While the plants are young, they need to be tied with ropes for the winter so that the snow does not deform the branches.

Spruce

A hollow economical, a kind of folk alternative to an expensive and pretentious arborvitae hedge can be a dense planting in a row of common spruce (Picea abies), brought from a neighboring forest. With regular cutting of increments by 1/3, the trees will eventually turn into dense pillows that protect the site not only from the northern winds, but also from the curiosity of idle neighbors, which is often useful.

In "their" way

Mri planting a hedge from the idea of a front garden, of course, will have to be abandoned. But this, as it turned out, is not surprising, because we are in the mainstream, a global trend that is now observed all over the world. Albeit with their own national characteristics.

Even the British, a nation with a million front gardens across the country, where literally every house
has a lovingly landscaped tiny front yard, negative trends are emerging. They have their own trouble. Until recently, special importance was attached to the beauty and well-groomedness of the adjacent space. Here it was customary to equip your small garden in such a way that a random passer-by would pause and admire. At the same time, it was necessary to do something special in order to distinguish it from thousands of other similar ones.

Nobody puts up fences there, like we do, and sometimes there is no gate. Just a hint of boundaries. low brickwork, complemented by an evergreen hedge. A limited set of tools is used, everything is concise and as expressive as possible. An indispensable hydrangea bush under the living room bay window, a rose climbing a wall, ceramic containers with bulbous or annuals, stylish color solution, as a rule, sustained in monochrome tones.

Recently, however, colorful gardens have gradually begun to turn into a dull gray space. The lawn and flower beds are sacrificed for the next purchased car, which is equipped with a parking space. This phenomenon has already assumed such proportions that the Royal Horticultural Society of Great Britain began to sound the alarm. The motto of the flower show in Hampton Court in 2015 even became the slogan: "Let's make gray Britain green!".

Let's face it, even if you have the best country housemates in the world, there are times when you absolutely don't want to engage in conversation with them. Well, this is quite understandable, because the saying about "one's own fortress" is true not only in relation to the house, but also to the garden plot.

Often this problem is solved simply by building massive fences and fences for summer cottages. Meanwhile, designers offer a variety of elegant solutions how to fence off neighbors and at the same time decorate the territory.

These methods include light wooden screens, spectacular, graceful canopies, as well as classic hedges in the country, for which you can use different kinds plants. Typically, such fences are created from, but you can use flowering bushes.

A win-win option can be vertical screens, awnings and pergolas made of wooden planks or wire mesh; climbing plants: grapes, ivy, bindweed and other creepers wrap around these structures, creating luxurious green walls.

It should be taken into account, however, important advice landscape designers: any fences and fences for giving should be placed not on the border of your site, but near own house: paradoxically, but thanks to this, the yard or plot will look much more spacious.

Now let's move on to specific examples:

1. A hedge in the country can be supplemented with artistically made screens from natural wood and tinted glass. They will become the visual center of the site, giving it originality.

2. If you want to protect yourself from the eyes of neighbors living in a high cottage, make a trellised one: it will not only hide you from views, but also give you shade in the summer heat.

3. If you do not like the hedge in the country, replace it with an ordinary wall, knocked together from light wooden planks. If you choose a decking of the same tone, you will get a harmonious corner where you can enjoy a secluded vacation.

4. Another option for a private space: this time, it is proposed to use ordinary curtains suspended from the roof of the canopy as dividers. Everyone will understand their practicality: depending on the mood and desire to chat, they can be moved or pushed apart.

5. A vertically landscaped wall can be a good replacement for a hedge in a country house. In this case, the usual metal grid, next to which they planted a colorful vine with bright orange bells.

6. Even a pizza oven can become an unusual space delimiter, which is combined with neatly trimmed arborvitae, which can be replaced with other, more frost-resistant plants.

7. Again advice experienced designers: "defending" from neighbors with the help of fences and fences for giving, you need to leave small open spaces. In this photo, for example, we see that green wall from climbing plants has holes in the center that make this light construction and air.

8. practical solution, which is also applicable in loggias multi-storey buildings: install containers with high indoor plants. First of all, you should pay attention to tall succulents that require a minimum of care.

9. If you do not have the opportunity or desire to arrange a hedge for a summer residence, but an ordinary wooden fence seems boring to you, try to create an original fence from spectacular finishing materials, for example, bamboo, which will bring the atmosphere of the mysterious East to your site.

10. And if you try to make a patio with your own hands? This will require certain costs, but the result is worth it! A canopy in combination with a firewall wall will decorate your site; besides, you can always have a party here without attracting the attention of neighbors.
