Atlas of new professions information portal. Atlas of new professions

The atlas tells about new professions in different areas and about those professions that go to rest. It will soon be distributed to schools.

What I didn't like:

There are new professions that have simply been renamed from existing professions and are quite popular, for example, "agronomist working with GMOs" or "medical equipment architect".
There are professions with a very private function, such as "electricity consumer protection specialist".
There are professions that are invented based on the current fashion - for example, "startup mentor for schoolchildren."

Of the professions that send to rest, I was surprised that the copywriter there is considered solely as the one that writes about " plastic windows inexpensive", and not someone who creates solutions for brands.
About the dying professions of a lecturer (there are videos) and a journalist (there are programs that decode sounds into text), I don’t even know whether to laugh or be indignant.

And most importantly, which is a shame, in the atlas, by and large, the position is old, that a schoolboy can choose a profession and sit in it until retirement. And you need to know the professions of the future so that you, as the most cunning now in the 8th grade, decide that you will be a "designer of life medical institutions"And that's it, a sought-after profession with a big salary is in your pocket.
It does not say that you need to prepare yourself and your children in advance NOT for one possible profession of the future, but for the fact that in the future you will have to constantly learn and relearn, quickly change your trajectory and be your own "trendwatcher" (which is also in the atlas).

what you liked:

Atlas is beautiful. It is easy to navigate through it. There is a good sign at the beginning about the connection between the qualities of a person and the needs of professions and about the properties different professions. It will once again push you to think about the professions that you don’t see right now among your relatives and friends, and about what is generally happening in the world with technologies and social processes.

BUT I would not consider it in the forehead, but only as an occasion for talking with my family, teachers, psychologists, professional consultants.

And so ... Imagine among our children (and among us - what the hell is not joking!) There will be a specialist in cyber prosthetics, a designer of neural interfaces for controlling robots, a designer of virtual worlds, a manager of a fund for direct investment in talented people ( mind me!), mediator social conflicts, space biologist, smart road builder and mind fitness trainer.

How do you like this future?
How about the atlas?

While we are mastering the professions of lawyers, economists, locksmiths and cooks Elon Musk dreams of flying to Mars, 3D printers are beginning to print human organs, and the UK is investing millions of pounds in training assistants and helpers for robots. Be prepared for the fact that in the near future machines will take up to 75% of jobs. Perhaps the robotics boom in Russia will happen a little later, but it will definitely happen. Let's talk about the professions of the future - new and promising. Because it is worth thinking about them now.

In what areas will robots not replace humans?

Robotics is advancing faster than experts thought. In Japan, machines no longer only perform ordinary operations in factories, cook and do house cleaning - they dance well, play chess, and most importantly, they study. It is trained artificial intelligence that becomes the main competitor of man in the struggle for workplace. Why would an employer hire a CNC operator if the machine does not need to be paid a salary and there is no need to supervise it - robots will hardly try to steal anything, hardly be negligent.

As part of a lecture on human capital after the 4th industrial revolution, Christopher Pissarides (winner Nobel Prize Economics) identified only 6 industries in which robots cannot completely replace humans. At least in the next 20-30 years. This is:

  1. The medicine.
  2. Education.
  3. The property.
  4. The household.
  5. Hospitality.
  6. Personal services.

With medicine, education and real estate, everything is clear. Household refers not only to household chores, but also planning family budget, making decisions when creating the comfort of an apartment or house, choosing the best place to live, and so on. Hospitality is understood as hotel, restaurant and tourism management, as well as the entertainment industry.

Personal services include, for example, the services of a psychologist, a nanny, a nurse and other professionals that robots cannot replace for practical and ethical reasons. This also includes several areas, which in part are also professions. A prime example is the clergy. It is difficult to imagine a robot in the person of a church minister, unless it will be a separate new cult, a new religion.

It is also the sphere of art - presumably the value of human labor will not disappear here and, on the contrary, will continue to grow.

Professions of the future: TOP-20 specialties

Among the assumptions of the futurists, there are many specialties that may seem like a utopia or outright nonsense. When forecasting, it is especially important to rely on trends in science. If we know that robotics and IT are rapidly developing, then the position of a lawyer in robotics no longer looks so unrealistic. Let us draw your attention to the list of professions published by American, European and Russian researchers.

New professions of the future - TOP-10 Microsoft and The Future Laboratory

  1. virtual reality designer . Experts predict a significant growth in the VR device market. In the next 7-8 years, it should exceed $45 billion. Millions of people will spend most of their free time in virtual reality, which will be designed by the next generation of designers. They will create virtual offices for remote negotiations, museums, municipal institutions and much more.
  2. Robotics Developers . Or robotics lawyers. They will act as intermediaries between man and artificial intelligence. The tasks of specialists will include the development of ethical standards, in accordance with which robots can exist among living people. The need for a profession is due possible appearance"bad" machines capable of deliberately harming people.
  3. Virtual tour guides and digital commentators . Do you experience catharsis when you come into contact with works of art in museums, in art galleries? Experts believe that very soon virtual tours displace up to 80% of real premises cultural objects. This is where digital commentators and guides who own VR technologies come in handy.
  4. Biohackers . In fact, these are amateurs who conduct their own research in the field of molecular biology, using open data from the scientific community. It is assumed that biohackers will soon come out on new level and in freelance mode will be able to help scientists in finding ways to treat the most complex diseases.
  5. Analysts of the Internet of Things . Appliances and electronics are increasingly equipped with their own software, so that devices can communicate with each other. The Internet of Things (IoT) will require modernization in 5-8 years: in developed countries, specialists will be in demand who can analyze data and look for, say, new methods of integration household appliances into unified systems for "smart houses".
  6. space guide . Scientists say that by the beginning of the 2030s, space tourism will no longer be a rarity and will become quite affordable for wealthy people. In this regard, guides who will accompany travelers on flights to the stars will become in demand. And if on initial stage astronauts can become them, then in the future a specialty may appear even in ordinary universities.
  7. Personal data curator . Neural interfaces that combine the human brain with a computer will become the most common in 3-4 years. We will be able to "record" memories, plans and thoughts, and distribute them in social networks– share with friends and even strangers. The task of the personal data curator is to combine information into a common information flow and adapt it.
  8. Ecosystem Restoration Specialist . Around 2030, the planet's resources may be seriously depleted due to a significant increase in population. We are talking not only about non-renewable oil, but also about animals and plants. In this situation, engineers will be required to restore environment. In particular, they will be able to "revive" extinct species of animals and plants using previously collected genetic material.
  9. DC Power Supply Engineer . In the next 5-10 years, the transition to sustainable energy can be completed - solar and wind energy will be used as the main source of power throughout the planet. The only problem is the inability to operate the devices in cloudy and calm weather. Therefore, developers of constant power devices will become especially in demand.
  10. Body designer . Bioengineering should make a breakthrough by the mid-2020s. In the future, a person will be able to easily change tissues and even organs. The possibilities of medicine and plastic surgery help people become the way they want to see themselves. And body designers will be able to translate the desires of a particular person into layouts that will guide surgeons in the course of work.

Promising professions of the future - TOP-10 according to Skolkovo

This list was presented by Skolkovo experts in the form of an atlas of specialties that will be in demand in the future. Among them there are excellent options for both girls and boys.

The most realistic professions were recognized as:

  1. city farmer . He will be engaged in useful gardening of megacities. It is possible that in the future big cities will be able to independently provide themselves with vegetables and fruits - they will be grown directly on the roofs and facades of skyscrapers.
  2. Molecular Nutritionist . The “Larisa Dolina Diet” may not help, not only because of the anti-scientific basis, but also because individual characteristics your body. In the near future we will be able to lose weight on molecular level– nutritionists will explore the individuality of our structure in great detail and will be able to create unique programs for losing weight, gaining or maintaining weight.
  3. Online Doctor . A number of laws on online consultations have already been passed, so the profession does not seem futuristic, much less utopian. In 4-5 years, an online doctor will be able to replace most doctors who practice classic face-to-face patient care.
  4. space tourism manager . If American researchers mark space guides, then Skolkovo focuses on specialists who will organize flights to the stars. Managers in this industry, according to forecasts, will be in demand in 15-20 years.
  5. Digital linguist . The task of a specialist is to adapt the language of machines for a person, to make it more understandable and “alive”. Digital linguists will work with online translators, search engines, and other robotic devices that “speak” to humans.
  6. reenactors . Most iconic buildings, monuments of history and architecture, will soon become emergency. The task of the specialists in the restructuring of these objects is to create a project, according to which the building will cease to pose a danger and at the same time preserve the value of the monument.
  7. 3D printing designer . This profession will be especially in demand in construction, where 3D technologies are already widely used today. And if now they print only individual elements and building materials, then in the future with the help of special printers it will be possible to create full-fledged buildings.
  8. home robot developer . The specialty exists today and will continue to gain popularity in the future. Experts believe that by 2030, a person will be able to completely get rid of household chores by transferring all domestic work to machines.
  9. financial trajectory designer . He will help you not to make mistakes when building a career by developing an individual plan for achieving success. In fact, this is an expert who can create an algorithm for moving along career ladder for every person.
  10. mind fitness trainer . They will be as charismatic as the leaders of today's useless trainings, and at the same time help you get closer to intellectual perfection. You can master speed reading, develop a phenomenal memory, and so on.

Where to go to stay in trend

It is not the place that makes the person beautiful. You can do anywhere, the main thing is to follow the innovations, scientific discoveries and developments in the industry. It doesn't matter if you study to be a biologist, surgeon, programmer or psychologist - the key requirement is to follow modern professional trends. However, it is highly recommended higher education. Even if you do not work in your specialty, intellectual development in a university is usually more powerful than in a technical school or college.

From the point of view of the specialties of the future, the most demanded industries are:

  • Biology.
  • Robotics.
  • Chemistry.
  • Management.

Engineering specialties are also in trend. Designers and architects will be no less in demand. However, professions related to mental work come to the fore. heavy physical work machines will take over. Only sports can be an exception, but this is also in question - competitions among robots are already extremely popular.

The Moscow School of Management (MSM) Skolkovo, together with the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, has prepared an atlas of 100 new and 30 dying professions. According to it, such professions as a diagnostician, stenographer, travel agent, seamstress, elevator operator, postman, etc. will die out by 2020. After 2020, there will be no journalists, legal advisers, notaries, pharmacists, analysts, bank workers, logisticians, lecturers. They will be replaced by city farmers, eco-urbanists, biotransducers, time brokers, GMO agronomists and other specialists of the future.

Russian newspaper talked on this topic with two members of the NP "Experts of the Labor Market". The atlas will be distributed in universities and schools to demonstrate that lawyers and economists are no longer needed. However, not all labor market experts agree with this forecast. In particular, Vera Anistsyna, head of the recruitment group recruitment agency UNITY doubts in realism such studies: “It is extremely doubtful that in 6–10 years there will be no postmen or seamstresses, and no other specialists listed in the atlas. In the short term, such assumptions look like quotes. from fantastic novel. It is possible that in the long term these forecasts will partially come true, but it is unlikely in our lifetime.”

“How seriously should we take forecasts that in a couple of five-year periods taxi drivers, notaries, accountants, translators, tour operators will suddenly turn out to be unclaimed and air traffic controllers? - asks Ruslana Berend, Head of Banking/Finance, Imperia Kadrov Holding (corporate member of NP Experts of the Labor Market).- And to the fact that the demand for designers of virtual worlds will suddenly increase sharply and space engineers? It is obvious that the likelihood that in the near future the functions of transporting passengers, balancing balance sheets and issuing testamentary dispositions and powers of attorney will be shifted to the shoulders of almighty machines is greatly exaggerated. It is even more unlikely that in the modern world with its permanent economic problems, man-made disasters, political crises and local military conflicts, experts in the field of "corporate anthropology" and "time brokerage" will suddenly be in demand.

According to recruiters, today there is a greater trend towards an increase in demand at multifunctional specialists with qualifications in several professional fields at once, for example: a lawyer-economist; pharmacist-marketer; notary translator.

However, one of the authors of the atlas, Pavel Luksha, professor of practice at Skolkovo Moscow School of Management, does not agree with this assessment. “Our work was carried out according to a methodology that has been validated with leading international experts in the field of forecasting labor market needs, including international organization labor. The conclusions are based on an analysis of trends that are developing in 19 major sectors of the economy, including on statistical data, development forecasts and investment and research plans of leading public and private companies. They were formed and repeatedly confirmed in work with leading industry experts in each of the industries - with people who know the real practice of these industries and what is planned in them. In this sense, none of the professions is a fantasy for us, they were all proposed by industry experts as a result of analytical and strategic sessions. Insofar as we are talking about new professions, they, of course, will not be like those professions that are on the market now. These are professions that deal with tasks that do not currently exist, that are just emerging. Many of these tasks look fantastic for non-specialists, but they are already part of the industry practice. This confirms and Ruslan Larin, Director of the Human Resources Department at Diarsi Group of Companies, member of the NP Experts of the Labor Market: “I paid attention to those professions that are in demand today, and I am sure that they will be in demand even more by 2020. Increased demand, for example, on cybersecurity and other data security professionals is dictated, of course, by the increasing number of cyberattacks over the Net. A personal brand manager is a topic not only in 2020, but also today. Not only well-known people are thinking about creating the right image on public platforms, today it is already important for every top manager or expert in the market.”

"Space" professions will be among the most sought after, the authors of the atlas believe. Reuters photo

In 10 years, pharmacists, seamstresses and travel agents in Russia will be replaced by biopharmacologists, clothing designers with energy generation and space tourism managers. Such changes in the labor market are promised by the compilers of the Atlas of New Professions, who have chosen more than 100 of the most promising professions for young Russians. True, it is simply impossible to get most of the professions of the future in Russia.

The Presidential Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI), together with the Skolkovo School of Management, have prepared an Atlas of New Professions, a guide showing which professional areas will be in demand in 10–20 years. The collection includes 132 new professions, divided into 19 industries, and more than 30 “pensioner professions”, which, according to experts, should disappear in the near future. 2.5 thousand Russian and foreign specialists took part in the preparation of the directory of professions of the future.

The atlas of future professions should become a kind of map of life and career opportunities for young people. The authors of the forecast tried to explain what skills and competencies will be in demand in the future and how the very structure of the labor market will change. For each specialty, the compilers also identify so-called trans-professional skills - from ultra-economical production to multilingualism and multiculturalism.

I must say that the atlas of the professions of the future really looks futuristic. If, for example, such professions as a healthy aging consultant or a small aircraft production engineer can be mastered now, then educational opportunities for future space geologists or medical equipment architects who have both medical and technical knowledge, are very limited.

“This atlas is our first step so far, it is not complete, and we do not plan to stop there. In the future, we want to move on to the fact that an interested applicant or parent can enter a profession or image of a professional on the site in the future - and a holistic trajectory of educational and professional development. The atlas program will issue step by step instructions- for example, first study at one university, then go for an internship, then work at an enterprise. And then, if these conditions are met, in 15 years a person will become what he wanted to become, ”said Vladimir Solodov, head of the department of projects and practices of the Young Professionals direction of the ASI, at the presentation of the atlas. So far, the compilers of the atlas have limited themselves to a small list of universities and employers for each industry.

The list of endangered professions was no less surprising. By 2020, according to the forecast, not only working professions like an elevator operator, janitor and postman will become obsolete, but also intellectual ones - for example, a lecturer at a university, a copywriter and a travel agent. And after 2020, journalists, logisticians, taxi drivers and even traffic police inspectors will disappear.

It is impossible to say how accurate the forecast will be. However, the compilers of the atlas are confident that changes in the structure of the labor market are inevitable. But the speed of emergence of new professions can be different. It depends both on the desire of entrepreneurs to engage in the development of technologies, and on the ability to educational system meet emerging needs for new talent, and the willingness of the federal government to promote change.

The experts interviewed by NG were rather skeptical about the atlas of professions. Head of the MBA program strategic management Human Resources” HSE Ekaterina Varga believes that such studies may be of interest to people choosing a profession, but employers themselves pay little attention to them. So far, employers have the most practical needs, which is clearly not included in the atlas of professions of the future. “For example, the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) is no longer satisfied with the level of training of university graduates who come to them. UAC experts conducted their own research and, with the consent of the Ministry of Education and Science, changed educational programs in a number of universities,” says the expert.

Galina Melnikova, Executive Director of Gorizont, believes that such reference books are in any case interesting and useful, but their relevance and the level of trust in them depend both on the competence of experts and on the methodology of forecasts. At the same time, citizens should take into account that long-term forecasts, as a rule, do not come true. “But the fact that science-intensive, high-tech industries will be prioritized in the future is not news - it will certainly be so,” Melnikova is sure. In her opinion, the advantages in the labor market will be enjoyed mainly by highly qualified specialists in engineering and technology industries.
