Given tutorial This is no ordinary textbook for a social studies course for high school, and a guide to preparing for the unified state exam (USE) in social science.
The structure of the manual is determined by the tasks of quick and high-quality preparation for the USE and consists of four sections: "The role of the textbook in preparing for the USE in social studies", "USE in social studies: general characteristics”, “Content blocks-modules tested for the Unified State Exam in social studies”, “Let's check our readiness for the Unified State Examination”. These sections, on the one hand, are logically interconnected, which allows organizing the process of preparing for the Unified State Examination more productively, and on the other hand, they are to a certain extent autonomous, valuable in themselves, which expands the boundaries of the possible use of the textbook as a whole, taking into account the educational needs of the examinees.

Whoever owns the information owns the world.

Mayer Amschel Rothschild

It is with these words that I would like to begin, since in modern society information is not only information or a system of knowledge, but a subject market relations. When receiving education, a person accumulates a certain set of knowledge, which he uses throughout his life to one degree or another. Modern education standards set high level knowledge that a person should receive leaving the school bench. In order for you to be able to prepare for the Unified State Exam in Social Science, you need to decide on a list of references that will help you systematize knowledge in this course and form the right direction of thinking when answering questions. Let's start from simple to complex.

The most popular and accessible source theoretical training, is "Social Studies: A Complete Guide to Preparing for the Unified State Examination" by P.A. Baranova, A.V. Vorontsova and S.V. Shevchenko, since it is structured into areas (sections), each of which has a certain set of topics containing basic concepts and definitions that help in solving tasks of parts A and B, with right decision which you can score to overcome the established threshold. As for part C, there are difficulties. This handbook has practical value, with summary information in a systematic form, and the task of part C requires a more spectral and expanded knowledge and opinion of the examinee, in this case, social science textbooks for grades 10 and 11 (basic and profile levels) L.N. Bogolyubov. I cannot but agree that these textbooks are voluminous and individual moments difficult to understand without the help of a teacher (tutor and teacher), but with the right approach, this is an ideal option for solving Part C tasks.
in great demand textbooks on Social Studies by A.I. Kravchenko, but here you are faced with the problem of irrelevance of certain topics, which leads to the confusion of the reader, and I recommend it only to those who have the ability to filter information. The most voluminous and complex, but at the same time the most scientifically developed and informative, is considered to be a social science textbook edited by Doctor of Law, Professor M.N. Marchenko, which will significantly increase your level of training.
When preparing, also use various dictionaries, but based on the above sources of literature, as well as materials containing diagrams and tables that allow you to visualize the information received, or compose them yourself. I remind you of the need to use a codifier when preparing.

And so, speaking of information, I am talking about the basis of knowledge accumulated by you by means of studying literature, which contributes to passing the exam by 100 points, which in the future can affect not only your life, but also the life of the people around you.

Let's talk about what textbooks to prepare for the exam in social studies are the best.

The first thing I would like to point out is that one or two textbooks for high-quality preparation for the exam in social studies not enough . At the very least, you need a kit. And in the first place I would like to put not those thick manuals that are mass-produced by our publishing houses, but school textbooks. Why? Because they comply with the state educational standard, on the basis of which all exam tasks. Therefore, first of all, you need to prepare according to textbooks, and then everything else.

Now it's time to briefly review all school textbooks. There are actually two sets of them.

Value of this set is that it is author's, and therefore all paragraphs are written in the same style, which improves its memorization. Presentation style in all four textbooks are very accessible, sometimes fascinating. Textbooks are accompanied by diagrams, illustrations. Required places stand out. There is a complete dictionary at the end of each book.

Minuses: There are many topics and concepts that are not so necessary for the exam. Not every student will figure out what needs to be studied here, and what is not necessary.

The basic set is quite suitable for passing the society by 50-60 points.

In this textbook, different paragraphs are written by different authors. which makes it difficult to study. Also, some paragraphs are presented in an interesting and accessible way, some are impossible to read. The text is all over the place. Nothing stands out. Few diagrams and tables. Nevertheless, two textbooks fully include all the material on social science. And there are things that are missing in the profile kit.

profile kit.

All the shortcomings that are in the basic set remain in the profile. Also a lot of water, a complex scientific academic text, etc. But it fully complies with the state standard. And now about the main disadvantage of this kit. Sections are missing: ECONOMY and RIGHT. This is because it is understood that students who study these sections in this textbook pass in the form independent courses. Therefore, when choosing this kit for preparation, it is MANDATORY to add textbooks on law and economics to it.

By right, I recommend the textbook “RIGHT. Fundamentals of legal culture”. Author E.A. Pevtsova. Includes four textbooks. Two parts - 10th grade. Two parts - 11th grade. Good easy language. All main places are highlighted. Tons of examples. Lots of charts and tables.

Bogolyubov's kit is also not bad. And the language is good. Both tables and diagrams are present.

Now about ECONOMY. In the basic textbook Bogolyubov for grade 11 the first section is devoted to economics. And by the way, a very good section. You can totally get by with them. All topics are covered, all concepts are explained well. If this is not enough, then you can add specialized textbooks by Lipsitz and Avtonomov.
