As a result of operation oven it accumulates the remnants of fat, dirt and soot. It starts to intensely burn and smoke every time you turn it on. Then comes the moment of cleaning the oven with folk remedies or household chemicals.

Manual oven cleaning

Self-cleaning functions are not provided in inexpensive ovens, so housewives have to wash the oven manually using household chemicals or folk remedies that are at hand.

Folk remedies

When there are no needed purchase funds for cleaning, folk recipes come to the rescue, in no way inferior to factory chemistry.

Salt. Contaminated places in the oven must be “coolly” sprinkled with table salt and heated to medium temperature. When the salt turns dark Brown color, the oven must be switched off. Then the oven must be cooled, washed with an ordinary kitchen sponge and dried.

Salt with carbonic acid. In the prepared "brine" (1 kg of salt per 0.5 l of water), you need to add 15-20 g of carbonic acid. Place the solution at the bottom of the oven in an open state. Then preheat the oven to 150°C and soak for 30 minutes. After cooling, wash off solid residues of soot and grease with water.

Salt with soda. With a thick paste prepared, consisting of 100 g of salt, 300 g of soda, 50 g of dishwashing gel and water, rub all surfaces of the oven. "Soaking" lasts 10-12 hours. Then the product is washed off with water, wiped and dried. This tool has proven itself to clean the oven immediately after use.

Baking powder for the dough. The dough baking powder is used to clean the ovens from accumulated fatty contaminants. The working walls of the oven are sprinkled with them, having previously carefully moistened them. In this state, the oven is kept for 2 hours. All fat is collected in balls-lumps. After removing them, the oven must be washed and dried.

Laundry soap. 100 g of soap grated on a fine grater is dissolved in 200 g of "cool" boiling water. The resulting solution in an open container is placed in the oven. It should boil for 30-40 minutes at set temperature 110-125°C. In a cold oven clean water and a kitchen sponge wash off the remaining dirt, detergents can be added to the water. Then the oven is wiped and dried at room temperature.

Water bath". The easiest way is if the oven is covered with enamel. Pour into a baking sheet or other container with an open top. clean water. With strong old pollution add detergent for dishes. Keep for about an hour at a temperature in the oven 100-110°C. After the oven has cooled down, the surfaces are wiped with a damp cloth, rinsed and dried at normal room temperature. Steamed impurities are removed quickly and effortlessly.

Ammonia. To clean the oven, it can be used in 2 ways:

  1. Using a household sprayer, moisten the walls of the oven with ammonia. An hour later, repeat the procedure. Leave the oven door tightly closed until morning. After thorough ventilation, decomposed fat is removed in the morning with a kitchen sponge soaked in a solution of water and dish detergent.
  2. In the oven, heated to 60-70 ° C, put two containers. Below - 200-300 g of "cool" boiling water, above - 150-200 g of ammonia. With the cabinet door tightly closed, without turning on the oven, leave it overnight. In the morning, mix the cooled water with ammonia, add a few drops of dish washing gel and remove the remaining dirt. After airing and drying, the oven is ready for new use.

If ammonia vapor is inhaled, you can get poisoned, so it is recommended to clean the oven with it using a mask.

The video below shows two alternative methods for cleaning greasy contaminants in the oven: using a baking powder and ammonia vapor.

Vinegar. With a household sprayer, moisten the inner walls of the oven with vinegar. The oven with the door tightly closed is aged for 2 hours. Lagging dirt is washed off with clean water, the oven is ventilated and dried.

Vinegar soda. Spray vinegar on the entire surface inside the oven, sprinkle liberally with baking soda. Hydrogen, obtained from the reaction of vinegar and soda, destroys body fat. At the end of the reaction, using a kitchen sponge and soda as an abrasive, remove the remaining fat and dirt. Then the oven is thoroughly washed and dried with the door open.

Vinegar, soda and citric acid. Equal shares of vinegar, soda and citric acid are mixed. This slurry wipes all the inner surfaces of the oven, preheated for 20-25 minutes at a temperature of 50 ° C. After the oven has cooled, the pasty mixture is washed off along with the fat deposits.

Vinegar, baking soda and soap. In 50 g of "cool" boiling water, 25 g is diluted laundry soap. 40 g of baking soda and 100 g of vinegar are added to the prepared warm solution. All contaminated surfaces inside the oven are rubbed with the prepared solution. This mixture can be rubbed on a baking sheet and left in the oven. The oven is kept in this state for 3 hours with the door tightly closed. All dirt is washed off with clean water, and the oven is dried.

Lemon juice. There are 2 ways to clean the oven with it:

  1. Mix freshly squeezed lemon juice with water in equal proportions. With this liquid we spread all the problem areas in the oven. Leave on for 15-20 minutes and rinse with water. This method can be used after each preparation.
  2. In an open container, you should collect 200-250 g of water, cut two medium lemons into slices and add 50 g of dish detergent. The prepared mixture must be heated to 100-110 ° C in the oven and kept in this mode for 35-40 minutes. All dirt is washed off with warm water and a hard sponge.

Soda. The sprayer should moisten all surfaces of the oven, grates, baking sheets. On a damp cloth, collect soda and wipe all surfaces and rinse with water.

This method must be approached carefully, since soda plays the role of an abrasive material and can damage the walls of the oven.

VIDEO: How to AVOID heavy soiling of the oven? How to clean a dirty oven?

Sooner or later, every housewife faces the task of how to clean the oven. It's fine if you have an electric oven with a self-cleaning function, but burnt-on grease and food pieces are not so easy to clean off, especially if they have already been billed for months. Let's talk about 7 ways to help you cope with this difficult task.

The easiest way is to use special means designed to dissolve fat and soot. They contain potent acids or alkaline compounds that literally remove dirty deposits from surfaces before our eyes.

When working with caustic substances, be sure to use protective gloves and a mask so as not to damage the skin and mucous membranes. Also take care of airing the room, as household chemicals have a sharp unpleasant odor.

In order to clean the oven from fat, you can use the following tools:

  • Amway Oven Cleaner;
  • Faberlic for cleaning ovens and stoves;
  • Shumanite;
  • Shine.

It is enough to apply the product on contaminated surfaces and leave for 5-30 minutes, depending on the layer and age of the fat. For ease of use and uniform application, such products are available in the form of a spray or equipped with a special brush. After the action time has expired, wash off the remnants of soot and products with water.

A safer option is ordinary laundry soap. It is much cheaper than specialized household chemicals and does not require prolonged contact with hands.

In order to wash the fat, you need to grate the soap and dissolve it in water. Place the resulting mixture in suitable dishes and place in the preheated oven. After half an hour of evaporation at 110 degrees, it is enough to wash the surfaces with clean water. Thoroughly wipe the walls so that soap deposits do not remain on them, which can subsequently give an unpleasant aftertaste to dishes cooked in the oven.

In your kitchen, you will definitely find two good anti-fat products - soda and vinegar. Cleaning is done like this:

Empty the oven and scrape off the bits of burnt food with a spatula.

Mix baking soda with warm water to make a paste that is easy to use.

Apply the prepared paste to all walls and thoroughly rub the dirt with a hard sponge.

Leave the baking soda for 12-24 hours to corrode old fat and partially absorbed it.

Scrape off the dried soda with a rag, simultaneously cleaning off the soot.

Spray the vinegar evenly on the surface of the oven with a spray bottle. It will react with the baking soda and form a sizzling foam.

Leave the vinegar for a while to break down the fat, and then rub the walls with a sponge again.

After that, wash off the remaining vinegar with clean water.

If there is no vinegar, you can replace it with citric acid, after dissolving it in water. Some contaminants may be too persistent. To get rid of them, repeat the procedure with applying soda and rub well trouble spot sponge.

Method 4: Ammonia

It's not the most pleasant, but very effective method. In order to clean the oven, you will need ammonia - 10% ammonia solution. For one cleaning procedure, you will need 200 ml of this product or 5 jars of 40 ml. Ammonia has an extremely unpleasant pungent odor, so try to inhale its vapors as little as possible. Be sure to take care of good ventilation in the kitchen - open the window and turn on the hood.

First, prepare two dishes that can be used for heating in the oven. Pour warm water into one bowl, and send the contents of all five jars of ammonia into another. Water will need about 1-1.5 liters.

Heat up the oven to 180 degrees. Put the bowl of water on the bottom shelf, and the bowl of ammonia on the level above. Turn off the heat and let the liquids evaporate for half an hour. Once the oven has cooled down, it can be washed with a sponge.

If you can't stand the smell of ammonia, you can use vinegar essence instead. However, keep in mind that vinegar also has a suffocating odor when heated.

How to clean the oven with ammonia - see the video:

Another available product is citric acid. She eats off fat well, while you do not have to rub and scrub anything.

To clean an electric oven with this product, you need to do the following:

Take a sachet of citric acid and pour it into a bowl. Pour about 1 liter of water into 20 g of lemon. To speed up the process, you can take warm or hot water.

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.

When the citric acid is completely dissolved, place the bowl of water on the lower shelf in the oven.

The water should boil (you will understand this by the formation of steam on the glass). As soon as the liquid begins to actively evaporate, you can turn off the oven. This usually takes about half an hour.

Do not open the door until the oven has cooled down. After that, simply wipe the interior surfaces with a rag. Citric acid dissolved in water, combined with high temperature, will corrode old fat.

A melamine sponge is great for cleaning surfaces at home. This miracle product is a new generation of plastic, foamed to the formation of many small pores. Melamine gently cleans surfaces, and it is not afraid of even the most heavy pollution. With such a sponge you can clean not only the oven, but also pots, stove, kitchen furniture etc.

In order for the cleaning agent to work, it is necessary to wet the sponge, gently wring it out (but do not twist it!). Next, start cleaning the oven. Do not be afraid that the coating will be scratched. Despite the fact that melamine rubber is durable and similar in properties to fine sandpaper, it does not leave scratches or other marks. But pollution is easily rubbed off and absorbed into the sponge.

Another way to combat soot is steam. Some previous methods also involve heating water until it evaporates. But a much more effective approach is to use a steam cleaner. High temperature and fine atomization of water particles - the best remedy against hardened and burnt fat.

In order to wash the oven, it is enough to free it from baking sheets and grates, pour water into the steam cleaner and turn it on to heat. The liquid will begin to evaporate, and a special nozzle will direct the steam in such a way that it literally melts the pollution. Additionally, surfaces are disinfected.

In addition to the oven, you can easily clean grates, baking sheets, backsplash tiles, countertops and furniture with a steam cleaner. It is an indispensable assistant for efficient cleaning all rooms in the house.

It is rare that a housewife manages in her kitchen without an oven. With its help, we bake cakes, pies, fry meat, fish, cook healthy vegetables and even delicious desserts. It is not surprising that, due to such intensive use, the oven quickly and often gets dirty, and requires thorough cleaning.

Why is it important to keep the oven clean?

  1. The presence of pollution can lead to the growth of bacteria and harm our health.
  2. If there are traces of fat in the oven, they will begin to smoke during the preparation of the next dish, which will spoil its taste and aroma, and the kitchen will be filled with a pungent smell of burning.
  3. Soot and soot on the walls of the oven can lead to a change in temperature regime inside, and the food will not be able to cook according to the rules.

Therefore, it is so important to know how to clean the oven from grease and soot at home.

Note! It is necessary to wipe the oven walls and wash the baking sheet immediately after cooking, even if you do not see noticeable dirt. Fresh fat is removed much easier than old and hardened, so you do not need to spend extra time maintaining cleanliness.

Ovens with a self-cleaning function are gaining more and more popularity. If you are a happy owner of such a model, then you just need to free the oven from the grates and baking sheets and turn on the cleaning mode.

The temperature in the cabinet will rise to 500 degrees, after which you just need to walk along the walls with a clean, damp cloth, naturally after the oven has cooled down.

But most of us still use classic proven models, which we have to clean ourselves. What are the proven ways to clean the oven with home remedies?

It helps us in preparing dough for pies, is a good softener for long-cooking foods, we use it effectively when cleaning as a detergent for dishes, tiles and kitchen furniture.

Also soda is very good remedy for cleaning the oven.

In the evening, prepare a thick slurry of soda, table salt and a small amount of water. Apply evenly on walls or particularly dirty areas. Leave the oven door open all night.

During this time, the soda mixture will soften the fatty coating well and you just have to remove it with a damp sponge. Even a heavily soiled oven can be cleaned this way.

Mix soda and concentrated citric acid in equal proportions and sprinkle with this powder the surfaces and corners of the oven, previously wiped with a damp sponge. Leave for a couple of hours and rinse.

After using baking soda, wipe the walls, door, and glass with a mild vinegar solution. It will remove undissolved residues and make the coating clean and shiny.

A very dirty surface can be easily and simply cleaned with a mixture of soda (50 grams), vinegar (100 grams) and grated laundry soap (50 grams).

Thoroughly mix all the ingredients until a thick slurry is formed, add a little water and apply the mixture to the walls, grate and baking sheets. After a while, rinse and wipe with a clean cloth.

  2. ferry from inside. In a deep baking sheet or flat wide metal dish, type warm water about 1/3 of the volume. Add a couple of sachets of citric acid or 2-3 tablespoons of vinegar.

Put on the lower tier and turn on the oven at a temperature of 120 - 150 degrees. As soon as you notice that the water in the container began to boil, it is easy to understand by the misted glass of the door, turn off the fire and do not open the oven for 30-40 minutes.

This time is enough for the fat and soot to exfoliate under the influence of hot steam. Carefully remove the bowl and wipe the inside of the bowl with dishwashing liquid or just soapy water. Rinse with clean water and pat dry.

  3. ammonia. Wipe the walls with a sponge soaked in 10% aqueous ammonia. A simple and effective method, but quite dangerous if used incorrectly and requires very careful handling. Ammonia is a caustic substance with a strong odor that can cause mucosal burns, allergies, or even an asthma attack. Therefore, it is necessary to work with it only in rubber gloves protecting hands and in a respirator.
  4. hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide solution is an excellent antimicrobial agent, and if mixed with alcohol in a ratio of 1 to 1, it will help remove smudges and dirt in the most inaccessible places - between glasses, in corners and around heating elements.

Therefore, while using them, remove pets from the premises, and take all necessary precautions yourself.

Important! Often, citrus or vanilla fragrances are added to cleaning gels. Be sure to put the bottles out of the reach of children so that the child, out of curiosity, decides to try the fragrant but poisonous liquid.

Modern ovens, especially electric ones, are often equipped with self-cleaning systems. But the functions of pyrolysis and catalysis greatly increase the cost of the unit.

Most users prefer ovens with conventional hydrolysis cleaning. This is when they put a baking sheet with water in a preheated oven and wait for the steam to melt the fat.

But water alone is often not enough. If the stains are ingrained and old, auxiliary cleaning agents are needed. They will be discussed below, but for now a few basic rules.

Basic rules for oven care

  1. The more often, the easier. If inner surface wipe the oven after each cooking, and once a week and a half, steam the oven with water and detergent, there is practically no need to arrange global cleanings.
  2. To make the dirt succumb better, warm the oven a little by turning it on at 50 ° C for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Immediately before cleaning, remove the trays, remove the side guides. If the design allows, also remove the door and glass. It's easier to wash them all separately.
  4. Do not use abrasive sponges or metal scrapers. Rubbing grease with them can damage the enamel of the oven. It is better to work with a sponge or a soft cloth.
  5. Never apply a cleaning agent, especially a chemical one, to the oven fan and heating elements.
  6. After cleaning, leave the oven door open for a couple of hours so that it dries out and foreign odors disappear.
  7. Did the smell stay? Dissolve 10-15 tablets in a glass of water activated carbon and put it in the oven for a few hours. Charcoal absorbs excess aromas.

Baking soda does a great job of removing fresh stains and removing brown deposits from heat-resistant glass.

On the basis of soda, you can use a paste for cleaning the oven, or it's easier to act.
