How to draw a treasure map: a few easy ways. Do-it-yourself old pirate map

"Fire will help you"

What does it mean? If you yourself didn’t guess (that you need to hold part of the card over the fire, because it has an inscription written with milk), then you can enter the words “ Fire will help you" as an answer in the level

And Captain Jack Sparrow will laugh at the fact that he slipped you the empty parts of the map, but then he will still tell you what the matter is.

Blimey! Have you completed all the tasks and found the last part of the map? Ha-ha-ha, but it's empty! Okay, okay, that was a bad joke. Hold the last part of the map over the fire and maybe it will help you.

Aha, now there can be no doubt, you need to hold the last part of the card over the fire and the words will appear.

In our example, “WORD” appeared on the map, but you will have to write the place where the gift lies.

As you can see, after the card was held over the fire (be careful not to burn the whole card :) a word appeared on the card indicating the place where the hidden gift lies. Quest completed :)

The demo quest can be played here.

And now let's deal with the inventory that was used in the quest.

Inventory, complete list.

1. Pirate invitations (10 pieces) , , , , , , , , ,

7. Blackbeard's logbook

8. (download) Treasure map

9. (font 1 , font 2 , font 3 , font 4) The fonts used in Captain Morgan's letter and in the logbook, in case you want to make your own changes to the text. (make sure you install these fonts before editing text files)

10. (download) Download all in one archive

Now let's figure out how to make this inventory.

How to make a pirate map

First, download the map file and print it. This is what the original file looks like.

How to divide the map into 6 parts

I do not advise you to print the map in A4 format, but print it a little bigger size(at least one and a half sheets of A4), then each part of the map will be large enough. I got such a map (one and a half sheets of A4) If it is not convenient on this format, print it on two sheets of A4 (the map will be printed on two sheets)

As you can see the map is full different places such as "Storm Island" or "Dead Man's Bay", it also contains the icons of cannons, rum, Jolly Roger flag, anchor, black mark, cross, steering wheel and chest. This is also done so that the quest can make a reference to the map to find out, for example, "the number of guns in the Fort of Hope" or "find the number of chests in Flint's Mountain".

The middle of the map is empty, this is done so that in this middle, if you want, you can schematically draw a plan of the area or apartment with a designated place where the gift is hidden. In our case, this place will be empty.

This is how the map began to look after I burned it a little around the edges. Be careful, don't get carried away and burn a hole in the map, like I did :) But, since there are no vital places on the map in this place, I left it and did not redo the map.

First, I drew a plan of our apartment on the map, but then I abandoned the idea of using it in the quest, but I left the plan just in case, it did not interfere with the quest.

This is what the map looks like after dividing it into several parts. It is important that the first part of the map has a complete (not cut) island of the damned, because. we will need to see it in the second task. I, unfortunately, touched it a little, but the icons did not suffer much and their full number can be easily determined.

Now we will give the map ancient view and make her very old. To do this, let's soak our card in tea and dry it.

We soak our map.

After about 2 hours, I pulled out parts of the map and put them on sheets to dry.

Here is what we end up with

Ready. We do the same procedures with all the remaining paper props, namely, Morgan's letter, the sticker on the bottle with Morgan's letter, the announcement of the search for Captain Jack Sparrow and the logbook of Captain Blackbeard.

Wanted Notice for Captain Jack Sparrow

After aging

Making a bottle with Captain Morgan's letter

Take an empty bottle

And we remove all the stickers from it, the easiest way to do this is to soak and then scrape everything with a knife.

Great, the bottle for Captain Morgan's message is ready.

Now trying on our stickers on the bottle, I printed the sticker in two sizes, smaller and larger. Trying on a bigger sticker

Trying on a smaller sticker

The second option looks better, and we will glue it.

We take ordinary glue - a pencil and thoroughly coat the sticker. There was also such an idea to write something on the back of the sticker so that you had to guess to tear it off and see what was written on it and somehow use it in the quest. Since the quest was made primarily for kids, I scrapped this idea so it wouldn't get too complicated, but you can use this idea with a few minor tweaks to the quest.

Attached sticker, looks great.

Now it remains to place a message from Captain Morgan in it. We try on the height of the letter and the bottle, because we will fold the letter into a tube along the sheet so that the letter can be taken out of the bottle without much injury to it.

We put the letter in a bottle, a little bit too big, we'll have to turn it up.

We take out the letter, tuck it in about 3 cm. and twist again into a tube and put in a bottle.

Great, now it remains to make a plug. We take the paper on which the parts of the card were dried and fold it into a cork.

Okay, let's stop her bottle.

Captain Morgan's letter.

Captain Morgan's letter you can download in jpg file and doc. The doc version has two versions of the file. In the first, the font is smaller and the letter fits on one page. The second version with a slightly larger font, for more comfortable reading and fit on 2 sheets. We print first on one side, then on the other.

If you download doc files, then do not forget to install the fonts that are in the list before editing.

The logbook of Captain Blackbeard.

This is what Captain Blackbeard's logbook looks like in printed form. I printed it page by page, turning the sheets over to print on both sides.

At the end, you can add blank pages, because the magazine could be kept for more than one year.

At the end we fasten the magazine with a stapler, Captain Blackbeard's logbook is ready. It can also be aged and the edges scorched. If you seal the place of fastening with staples with a cut-out paper strip, then it will look better.

Black Mark.

It's simple, print and cut. On the back we write a spell "banana shaman"

Milk on the map.

We write with milk on the card so that we can manifest the message by holding the card over the fire.

Here, too, everything is very simple, pour a little milk and, dipping a match or a toothpick, write on the map the place where the gift lies. After that, let the milk dry and that's it.

That seems to be all :) If you have any questions about this quest, write to me on Vkontakte

Endless sea spaces, endless adventures and bottomless treasures! It's no surprise that a pirate party for kids is one of their favorite birthday or school date themes. Parents are also lucky: the design of the room will not take much effort and will not hit the budget, because many accessories and decorations are easy to do with your own hands.

Registration

Since it children's holiday, the surroundings should be flashy-bright, cartoony and full of details. Don't be afraid to overload the room with decorations - the more, the merrier!

But don’t break your head over the forms and complex compositions - the kids don’t care how highly artistic the colorful garland is. Even better, if the decorations are rustic, as if assembled by children. Spend the free time on working out the script and preparing treats - these moments are much more interesting for the guys.

Original ideas for a pirate party for children can be drawn from dozens of themed cartoons: Treasure Planet, Treasure Island, Pirate Island Mysteries, etc.

Posters/ cartoon frames are great for wall decoration- print, cut. Figures of recognizable heroes and attributes can be assembled into garlands, cards for skewers, signs for a candy bar can be made.

To decorate a room or open space, if the party is outdoors, prepare:

  • paper garlands of boats, skulls, anchors, flags Jolly Roger on the ceiling, walls;
  • globes, "old" cards, cardboard pirates, guns, mountains of gems, gold;
  • spyglasses, sextants, marine compasses. The real ones will certainly delight the children! But you can make fake or print photos, just to create an entourage;

Bright themed attributes for a children's pirate party can be bought. There is literally everything, from jewelry to accessories, clothes, weapons, balls, dishes.

  • pirate Balloons with thematic drawings, stickers. It is easy to assemble palm trees, anchors, ships, skeletons from long windmills;
  • cracked barrels, huge anchors, steering wheels fake, foam or cardboard;
  • for draping walls/furniture and Use stylized sails, ropes and fishing nets. Hang rope ladders/ropes with knots for gripping against one of the walls or on a branchy tree if the holiday is outdoors. Don't forget to lay mats;

  • it is dark in the hold or treasury without fire.… Arrange candles around the room - safe, battery-powered!
  • shells, algae, fish, krakens and all sorts of octopuses. Sea monsters are not very creepy, because this is a children's pirate party. Although today's children just do not scare. But still, with horror films in moderation;
  • do not forget the most important - treasures in chests. Bent spoons and other aluminum as silverware, grandmother's jewelry, dagger knives, chocolate coins, candy beads. Chests are easy to assemble from a box cut out according to a template, paint or paste over with wallpaper under a tree, hang a fake castle.

Friends will certainly not refuse to help arrange a pirate party for children - ask them for decoration toys:

  • plastic boats, figurines of pirates, swords, sabers, thematic "Lego";
  • talking parrots. Glue a cardboard cocked hat and an eye patch - you get a real pirate companion! Repeating parrots, shouting after the children “Break me thunder” and “Whistle everyone upstairs”, will surely amuse the children;
  • floating fish, octopuses, battery turtles and other marine life. Settle them in beautiful jars with shells, sand, treasures at the bottom.

photo zone

Thematic background with a pattern or tantamaresque. It is not difficult to make it with your own hands, taking a cheerful picture as a model. Draw, cut out "windows" for faces. A simple example that even an older child can repeat.

You can make a real pirate ship! Let it be made of cardboard, but with masts and sails! Do not be too lazy to paint the boat beautifully - an hour of time, and the difference is noticeable.

invitations

Ordinary invitations for such a colorful theme are unthinkable, and the guys will surely like the original “postcards”. DIY Pirate Party Invitations for Kids:

  • paper boat with text on sails;

  • burnt edge card, "old". Sketch out the path to your "island" or "cave" (where will you celebrate your pirate birthday?);
  • encrypted message - riddles, puzzles, puzzles(simple, children's). The answer will be “I invite you to a party” or “come date-time”;

  • a chest with a letter from Flint himself and chocolate treasures in golden foil. Or a black label with text inside/on the back;
  • mysterious message in a bottle, wandering along the waves for a long time (decorate with shells, starfish).

Suits

Dear parents, no bigotry. After all, this is a pirate-style children's party, and kids do not like constricting clothes that are hot and uncomfortable to run and play. For example, heavy high boots or a leather hat are a nightmare for a mobile child. But absolutely newspaper accessories, assembled in five minutes, will not look too festive in the photo.

Do not try to dress a little pirate with a needle. Some mess and even a tattered costume is welcome! A girl can arrange a creative mess on her head, braid several braids with multi-colored hairpins-elastic bands. The boy tousle his hair, draw a bruise, mustache, beard.

We offer simple options on how to dress for a pirate party without spending much. Top: long T-shirt or T-shirt with stripes - blue, red, black. If the shirt is white or grey/beige. Gather fluffy cuffs and a collar on an elastic band. Bottom: dark wide trousers, loose shorts or a skirt. For a boy, you can sew a short vest or a long camisole wide open. For a girl - a dress with a corset, frills and flounces, under retro. Look at the photos of pirate costumes for rent for ideas.

The tops of boots are better to make sham, from thick fabric. It is desirable that they be removed - on an elastic band, Velcro, buttons from the inside. If it is hot indoors or outdoors, after a few photos for memory, the tops can be unfastened:

Of course, the costume would be incomplete without important pirate accessories and recognizable elements:

  • a wide belt (a long thin scarf will do), a belt with a gold buckle;
  • fake rivets, chains, lacing;

  • eye patch, hook in the sleeve, skeleton skulls (key rings, drawings, stickers on clothes, transfer tattoos);
  • spyglass, saber, pistol. Surely something from the "weapon" is in the home collection. If not, make from cardboard and paint with silver/gold paint;
  • bandana and/or hat. They cost a penny in party stores, but a paper hat is easy to make with your own hands (with an elastic band or two parts glued around the edges):

A real pirate cocked hat can be assembled from an old baseball cap and a wide “steering wheel” of fields.. Cut off the visor, sew on the “steering wheel”, fold and sew the fields at three points, as in the photo below. The crown will be almost invisible, but you can paint it or cover it with a fabric in the color of the hat brim. Decorate with a frill around the edges, stick a dashing feather or draw a skull. Get a hat like this:

Menu, serving

It hardly makes sense to arrange a serious feast at a children's holiday - the guys are waiting active competitions and goodies, not potatoes with chicken. But for parents, you can include several salads, meat and vegetable cuts in the menu. It is better to arrange all dishes in small portions, in baskets, vases.

Pirate treats will become more attractive if you beat the serve beautifully. Lay a striped or black tablecloth, decorate the "board" - anchors, helms, lifebuoys. You can throw an imitation of a fishing net on the tablecloth. Buy stylized dishes and napkins, colorful skirts and cupcake tins, make miniature cards for skewers.

bring country table with an umbrella. The stick on which the umbrella is attached is almost a ready-made mast for the galleon's developing sails! Or hang a sail/flag on the wall behind the table. If you are celebrating a children's birthday in a pirate style, there is no better “canvas” for congratulations. Make an inscription on the sail like this:

Captain Max
9 years on the high seas
Fly forward with all sails, adventures are waiting for you!

If you're planning on spending the day outdoors, prepare something substantial. For example, you can make a couple of salads and arrange them on plates, like a ship's cook - a ladle from a huge pan. Sausage octopus jellyfish are also quite in the subject:

But the most important thing is the pirate Candy-bar or sweet menu. This is where decorations come in handy - skewers, cards and other small things with pirate symbols. Any recipes, at your discretion - pies and cakes, shortbread cookies, biscuits, puffs. But it’s easier to buy most of it, and then decorate it.

We offer several ideas in a pirate style.

  • Boats - stick a skewer with a sail into a treat. The galleon hull can serve as:
    • hot dogs, cabbage rolls (they have nothing to do with the sweet menu, but do not forget about parents, and not all children have a sweet tooth);
    • pie cut into long diamonds;
    • eclairs, tubules with cream;
    • pancakes with filling (envelopes or in a tube).
  • Striped jelly. Buy bags, two colors - lemon and berry (red) or plum (blue) jelly. Cool in layers in clear glasses/vases.

  • Montpensier, pour nuts in multi-colored glaze into transparent jars. The neck can be wrapped with twine or colorful ribbon, attached as a toy skeleton pendant, anchor, etc.
  • Candies in colorful wrappers, lollipops, chocolate coins, arrange in chests. Some of the sweets can be packed in "pirate" papers. Unfold small chocolates, leaving the foil, and “girdle” with a strip with cocked skulls (so that the foil is visible).

  • Bake cookies in the shape of pirate paraphernalia. Or decorate the rounds with mastic - an indispensable thing for decorating sweets! Food coloring or syrup will give the mastic the desired shade. Sculpting like from plasticine is not difficult at all.
  • Arrange beautifully fruits, "ours" and always from a tropical pirate island - mangoes, pineapples, etc. Decorate fruits with skewers with pictures. And from bananas you can make evil and funny corsairs: glue or draw faces, tie a triangular piece of fabric in the middle, striped or peas.

  • Drinks - juices, soft drinks, milkshakes. In stylized paper cups. With tubes decorated with pictures and figurines. In some glasses, you can put quarters of oranges and stick sails (the quarter is placed back to back so that it rests on the edges and does not sink). Replace bottle labels with colorful stickers.

If you are celebrating a birthday don't forget the pirate cake in the shape of a ship, a treasure chest, an island etc. Any recipe you like, it is better to have a suitable form right away. Decorations - glaze, mastic. You may need the help of a pro to bake a grand cake.

Entertainment

Perhaps, the scenario of a pirate party for children is more important than colorful decoration and delicious treats. Take the time to prepare bright props. Appoint the most artistic parents to lead. Pirate music will create a fun atmosphere - download soundtracks from thematic films / cartoons.

The street

If the children's holiday takes place in nature, draw a map. Schematically, on "old" paper with peeled edges. On it, the guys will go through the quest, going in search of a treasure. It is not necessary to travel far, but it is better to carry out each test away from the previous one in order to get a real trip around the map. In our scenario, we need to designate this path:

  • pier (a place where a table and a seating area)
  • quicksand
  • swamp
  • enemy camp
  • entrance to the treasure
  • the place where the chest is hidden. You can bury it in the sand, hide it in a dense bush, in a dark barn or on a tree (adults will help you get it). Beat somehow effectively, because this is the culmination of the party.

room

If it's a pirate day birth will pass at home / in a cafe, there will be nowhere to move. The labels for the scenario map are described above, but there can be any number of games between the journey from one point to another, at your discretion. Draw a map and tear it into as many pieces as you have prepared for contests and tasks. For completing each task, give the young pirates another piece of the map.

Since the children do not have a map at first, the leader instead of "What's next on the map, let's see ..." says something like this: “Oh, we got into the sands”, “The path is blocked by a swamp”, etc. And the chest can be slowly taken out and placed behind the guys while the young pirates glue all the pieces together.

Scenario

The name of the presenter for the example is Pretty Katie or Captain Hook (hereinafter referred to as KK).

QC: I see the whole brave team is assembled? Glad, very glad! I greet you, um, ahem ... And what is your name, in fact? Masha? Vasya? This will not work! The pirate must have a nickname so that they cannot figure him out by his real name.

The guys choose pirate names for themselves. Prepare cards - red and blue, with names for girls and boys. Whoever wants to, can come up with a nickname for himself. You can make badges, hang up and name the guys pirate nicknames the whole party. Frisky Joe, Ragged Ear, Miss Mary, One-Eyed Bill and stuff like that.

QC: Phew, figured it out! Have you thought of a team name yet? Have you chosen a captain? How not? Let's-let's! Those in whom you will inspire fear and horror must somehow call you!

Come up with a name, choose a captain. You can give this honor to the birthday man. And if you don't have a birthday, then, like true pirates, decide the issue by drawing lots. For example, take chocolate coins out of the bag. Whoever gets the special one (in foil of a different color) will be the captain.

QC: What noses hung? Don't be discouraged - the captain's share is not at all as sweet as a birthday cake. And who is a captain without his team? Every pirate on a ship and in battle is important! Let's fill the holds (we'll eat and drink), but for now I'll go for gifts. I like you, a thousand devils! How can such brave pirates not be pampered?

QC: Got drunk? Well done! But, sea urchin in my liver, someone stole the gifts!

It turns out "someone" - the villain, the assistant presenter.

QC: Oh you torn jellyfish! Well, give me my chest!

Assistant: Here's another! They just came, they didn’t really show themselves, and you immediately hand over treasures to them? Well, I do not! I hid them on the other side of the island and drew a map. Let them go in search of treasure. And we'll take a look at their pirate skills. Maybe they are not pirates at all, but…

QC: Guys, let's show this toad burp what we are worth? Shall we get our treasures?
- Yes Yes!

QC: Then go ahead! Through the quicksands deep into the island!

  • A large yellow sheet with holes of different diameters and at different distances. Holds two or four adults. You can cut the sheet lengthwise and sew it so that you get a long strip. The guys must quickly go through the "quicksand", stepping only in the holes.

QC: Well done, everyone did a great job! But, according to the map, there is an enemy camp ahead. Let's practice swinging sabers. And then they will stop us halfway ...

  • Foam, inflatable or cardboard sabers. Thin long board on the floor. The two have a duel. The goal is to stand on the board (you can on the bench if the children are of school age). Step on the floor - give way to the next. And so on until everyone who wants to play enough.

  • Give the children two small pieces of Jolly Roger boards or cartons of the enemy galleon. Organize a swamp: scatter pieces of green cloth or paper on the floor. Children must cross the swamp, standing on only one of the "wreckage". You stand on one, put the second in front of you, climb onto it, and shift the freed “fragment” in front of you. And so to the finish line.

While the children are moving through the swamp, the villain-assistant is quietly taken aside (so that the children do not see). And they cling to him about 30 pieces of clothespins-fish, on clothes.

QC: You did great - the swamp devil did not drag anyone to the bottom! Well done! And where is our pest, drowned or something?

An assistant in clothespins comes out, hanging his head.

QC: Aha ha ha, anchor down my throat, that's what you want! How will you go further?

Assistant offended: But no way! And I'll hide the chest so that Flint himself won't find it! Let's unhook these toothy reptiles. But wait… It's a great chance to check on our pirates… Let's see how attentive you are. KK, blindfold them, let them cope by touch. And don't you dare tickle me!

  • Blindfolded children unhook clothespins. You can compete - who can unhook the most piranhas.

Assistant: Well, thank you! For this, I will reveal a secret to you - there is an ambush ahead. I know for sure, because these fragments are familiar to me, on which you climbed through the swamp ... Looks like my enemies crashed on the rocky coast of our island ... Oh, it will be hard for you! Get ready!

QC: Damn medusa, here they are!

  • While the children were blindfolded, the presenter prepares the props for the accuracy contest. Depending on the age of the children, you can throw darts at the target-faces, knock down enemy paper figures with soft balls, extinguish candles (with face-bands) from water pistols.

QC: Phew, it looks like everyone was sent to feed the fish ... Let's eat before we stomp further.

QC: Karamba, we're almost there!

Assistant: Don't rush, or you'll make it. First you need to get the key. So that I can scrub the deck all my life if I give it away for that!

  • The key can be hidden in a large piñata (ship, skull, kraken). Or pour in a few balloons serpentine and sweets, and put a key in one.

QC: All right, there is a key. Go for the treasure!

Assistant: Look, they fled like crabs at the sight of my boot! You, of course, are dexterous and courageous, and everyone around you is tanned ... And what about your little mind? Didn't cheat Calypso? If you do not blunder here, so be it - I will give up the chest.

  • Quiz on the marine / pirate theme, riddles, charades, puzzles. You can prepare several questions or a test with humorous answers. At your discretion and according to the age of the guys, so that most of the young guests of the party will not be bored.

QC: Well, how, sinister, did the team cope?

Assistant: I admit - the real pirates have gathered! And bold, and smart - as a selection! I like such treasure hunts - a feast for the eyes! Explore your treasures. Yes, look, do not fight, otherwise you will spoil the whole impression. You are a friendly team, with you at least for monkfish, even for an abortion!

Completion of the quest: grand opening of a chest with the most valuable treasures - sets of gifts packed in themed bags or boxes. Toys, movie tickets, coloring books, jigsaw puzzles – by budget and by age. It is better to collect identical sets so that no one leaves offended. And attach something to remember - medals or certificates of real pirates.

QC: Dismantled treasures? Now welcome to the table! Our cook has prepared a wonderful surprise for you!

They bring in a surprise - a pirate cake. We eat, we have fun in free mode. Happy holiday to you!

Are you planning a noisy pirate party? Amazing! Of course, there will be a lot of trouble, but it's worth it. So, games and competitions are prepared, scary outfits are sewn, delicious treats spread amazing aroma around the apartment... It's easy: how to draw a pirate treasure map for kids.

Namely, to discover together with little curious pirates in a bottle of rum (a bottle of children's champagne is perfect) the main attribute of the upcoming sea adventure - an old, time-worn treasure map and start sailing.

Making such a card is not at all difficult.

What does it take to make from scratch

  • sheet of paper (I used plain paper) office paper A4 size).
  • Strong welding (for a primer).
  • Cotton swab.
  • Black gel pen.
  • Colour pencils.
  • Scissors.
  • Ribbon or piece of twine.

How to Draw a Pirate Treasure Map for Kids

How to achieve the effect of faded in the sun and aged paper? It's very simple: we strongly brew tea or (if you want to make the leaf darker) instant coffee.

Wet a cotton swab well in the liquid.

And we process a sheet of paper on both sides.

We leave the paper to dry for a while, to speed up the process, you can put a sheet on a heating radiator. It turns out beautifully primed, slightly warped during drying (which is also wonderful) textured base for the future card.

Now we begin to place the necessary objects on the map. You can choose a suitable motif and draw from it, or you can sketch a small sketch in advance. We draw directly on the map with a gel pen. You can also add text block letters with assignments.

It turns out beautifully when the graphic lines are lightly “highlighted” with color. In my case, these are ordinary colored pencils. You can color in several ways - gently shade or rub a rubbed lead over the surface of the paper.

When drawing objects on a pirate map, show all your imagination - interesting frightening names will delight little travelers (it's good when they also coincide with the names of competitions and tests that arise "on the way"). And, of course, do not forget to mark the place where the "ancient treasure" is hidden.

Using scissors, we make out the edges of the card, as shown in the photo.

And gently “smoke” the sheet over the candles and burn the edges. Here - the main thing is not to gape and not let the fire spoil all the work done.

The map is ready! We turn it into a tube, rewind it with twine or satin ribbon and hide it in a suitable bottle.

Part 2

Selection of suitable landmarks on the ground and mapping

    Choose a place to search for treasure. You can organize a treasure hunt from the basement of your private house to its main floor, or use the bushes and trees in your garden as landmarks marked on the map. Treasure hunting can be carried out both at home and on the street, depending on the space you need and the current season.

    • It is better not to hide the treasure in public places, since you cannot be completely sure that someone else will not find it.
  1. Complete four or five home landmarks with appropriate four or five pirate pictures. If you decide to arrange a treasure hunt at home, you can use a sofa, a lamp, a microwave, a refrigerator as landmarks and select the appropriate pictures for them. For street treasure hunting can be made landmarks a big tree, trampoline, swing, rose bush and big Stone. Then you will need to think about how to creatively label these items on the map. For example, a bathtub can be made a “Waterfall of Destiny”, and a large outdoor stone can be made a “Skull Island”. Below are other fun examples:

  2. Draw a large island on the map, leaving some free space around the edges. Create a wavy coastline with several outstanding performances. Use a blue marker or pencil to paint over the area around the island to represent the ocean.

    • It is also always possible to create a few additional mini-islands to represent various rooms or areas of the house. For example, you can make one island for home treasure hunting and one island for outdoor treasure hunting.
  3. Draw a compass in the corner of the map. You may not be using a compass to give direction, but showing it on your map will make it look more realistic. The image can be quite simple, for example, a cross with the cardinal directions (“N”, “S”, “W” and “E”) or you can draw a full-fledged wind rose with a compass.

    • If possible, correctly orient the compass on the map to the cardinal points so that children can use this device while searching for hidden treasures! Most smartphones now have a built-in compass so you can check directions to certain landmarks.
  4. Put landmarks on the map and label them. Take markers or pencils and let your creativity! In addition to the previously selected landmarks, images of palm trees, parrots, coves and sand can be added to the map. Depending on the age of the children who will be doing the treasure hunt, you can sign the landmarks with their veiled pirated titles and indicate clues that will help you find the appropriate place in your home, for example, for the “Waterfall of Destiny” sign below in small letters that it is “where people swim”.

    • You can also take interesting ideas from pirate movies and incorporate fun details from there into your map.

By the New Year, I want to give attention to loved ones, make a pleasant, useful (and beautiful!) Surprise that will please friends or relatives very much. long time. As is known, best gift- made by hand. Yes, this time I can confess that my task of finding the right gift was greatly facilitated, since my godchildren have already more than a year addicted to pirate themes. The answer to the question "What to give for New Year? was found.

It's no secret that I run my own travel blog. In my work on preparing materials, I work a lot with maps and diagrams, I am guided by scales and can easily explain to others, or. Therefore, the idea of creating a full-fledged treasure map, a "pirate map" really appealed to me. At the same time, it was decided to capture the process of work for people who are interested in hand-made.

A sheet of A3 and A4 was taken as a basis in the amount of several pieces (I took 4 of each type). When creating a pirate treasure map, you always have to dance on the texture of the paper, since it is it that determines the map as pirated or not pirated. Tea and coffee were taken to give color and texture.

I took a small bowl, 4 tablespoons of any instant coffee and 5 tea bags of black tea, filling it all with 250 ml of water (large glass). Mix thoroughly and wait until everything is infused. Then he took out the bags and put them on a separate plate (we still need them). I poured the contents of the bowl into a baking sheet to hold the paper there. The paper was crumpled as much as possible before impregnation.

It is not necessary to wait a long time, it is enough to impregnate the sheet with a solution on one side and the other, the color saturation does not depend on the amount of impregnation time - it was found out empirically. Then everything was laid out on spread newspapers to dry. As soon as the sheets began to dry out, he took the bags left during the previous operation and squeezed drops of a thick solution from them onto the sheets in a chaotic manner. This is necessary for the appearance of additional random "spots" in order to make the texture even more interesting.

Ready material for work.

I sharpened it in Photoshop so that the pattern could be seen.

In general, creating a pirate map brings great pleasure, because even if you accidentally drip glue or varnish on the surface of the paper, this will not worsen it. appearance, and improve - who knows how many troubles the old pirate had to go through with her?

The final sheets were ironed, then cleaned sandpaper to remove shine from the iron and a rougher surface. I took a small grain size so as not to damage the paper.

After that, the question arose of what kind of drawing and how to apply. The choice fell on gel pens in three colors: black, gold and silver. With black we draw a contour, with gold and silver we give a beautiful shade that plays in the light.

The first tests showed that we are moving in the right direction. Cardinal points on the map. How to draw: draw with a compass 2 concentric circles of different diameters, then make crosses: cross to cross at an angle of 90 degrees, then cross cross at 45 degrees, then again in half. We use the resulting markup to get this. We paint over the "star" in volume with gold and silver.

In general, the Internet is simply replete with various images of treasure maps and pirate drawings. various kinds: it all depends on the purpose for which you make the map and how much time and effort you are willing to spend on it.

My goal was to make props for a fun puzzle game for my nephew and niece for New Years. The essence of the game is as follows: We take a map where four sectors are marked. Each should have its own piece of the map. To find the treasure, you need to find all 4 pieces by solving riddles and puzzles. This becomes clear from the following figure:

Next, we take a plan of the area where the game will take place. I drew from memory, guided by photographs. We draw in such a way that it is clear to the child (in which case, mom and dad will help. Place the pieces on the map itself:

It turns out a kind of puzzle: children will not only need to find a piece of the map, but also find the place allotted to it. To do this, I made a stroke. One more photo:

I bet even adults with topographical cretinism will be fascinated by this ordeal. Very exciting.

The game can be used everywhere: on vacation, at corporate parties. A treasure map is an intuitive thing and everyone knows what to do with it. You can buy a compass at any fishing store. Mine will be guided by the weather vane on the roof.

After creating the base and the puzzle, I wanted more. How will the card be stored? How to wrap and roll it? Quadruple fold? This will kill her. I remembered the idea of a scroll: you need a cylindrical object longer than an A4 sheet, and something that will fix it. After sorting through the options, a broken photo shaft from the A3 printer and a roller from the same place were chosen. A map will be wrapped around the photo shaft, the roller gives a pleasant weight.

In the movies, it is customary for the scroll to have a protective apron that restricts the folding of the card and allows it to be rolled and unrolled. After creative torment, the initial material was chosen: polystyrene foam. After processing with a hot knife over the stove, it acquired the following shape:

My charm! Now you need to make the second one the same.

So that the limiter disks do not rotate, it was decided to process them with papier mache, which was soon done. Photos this process failed to do. After drying, the end surface of the tube and disks were treated with black plasticine. Along the way, plasticine was prepared for the "wax seal".

Then everything was glued onto a tube and varnished so that the plasticine did not get dirty.

Please note: the distance between the discs is selected in such a way that the roller is inserted there. Grooves were made at the processing stage. After drying, close-up:

The design is such that the card rotates freely around the roller. It is possible (but not recommended) to open the card under the weight of the roller itself: it will unwind.

We glue the joints of the sheets with PVA glue.

We check the functionality.

How it looks expanded:

The compactness of the map drawing itself and the abundance of "white spots" are a little annoying. I agree, you can fill the entire surface with patterns and drawings. But for my task this is enough.

We make a wax seal: knead plasticine desired color(80% red and 20% black), we take the twine, wrap it in the right way, we sculpt the “sealing wax” itself on small piece of the same material as the card, so that the main object does not deteriorate when torn off. We make an impression using another piece of plasticine, where the drawing was made, and then frozen in freezer. We cover with varnish for sealing wax gloss. Ready!

My print is in the form all-seeing eye". Who said conspiracy theories? Just a simple and beautiful drawing. Once again close-up. Not ideal, but for what will be torn off and thrown away, just right.

Card with other attributes for the competition for the New Year.

Ready! This text is not a strict instruction, it gives a lot of room for creativity and searching for different ways, so - create, let your map become even more detailed and beautiful! Well, I have everything! Happy New Year 2015!
