How to make a palm tree from plastic bottles in detail. How to make a palm tree with your own hands

Do you think that palm trees are not typical trees for our places? But the “jack of all trades” tirelessly impale them on adjoining territories. True, not at all hoping for a crop of bananas or coconuts. This tree, although it looks very similar from afar, but such a palm tree is made of plastic bottles(by the way, craftsmen are able to create a masterpiece even from wood or sheet metal). Such a solution allows not only to improve your yard or decorate a playground, but also to recycle hundreds and thousands of pieces of unnecessary plastic.

If you decide in this way to practice creating artificial trees, then first select a palm tree that is suitable for complexity (and they are already various kinds, just like real ones).

The appearance is approximately the same: the trunks are made from dark brown bottles, and the leaves are made from various shades of green (although avant-garde blue or yellow-green compositions are also found). Containers from kvass, carbonated drinks, beer usually go to consumption. The principle of creating all palm trees is not the same: a round tree can be used to form the trunk. wooden support with bottoms nailed to it or bottles with cut bottoms strung on a cable or wire. Palm leaves can also be lush, like a fan, or elongated, like a trunk. The former are cut into pieces and resemble operations for notching and bending, while the latter are simply strung according to the principle of the trunk. Depending on the size of the recyclable containers, the sizes of palm leaves and trunks also vary. Of course, with the help of six-liter water bottles, you can “grow” a huge tree, but such a palm tree looks a little clumsy. So it's better to stop collecting 1.5 and 2 liter bottles certain colors. By the way, do not throw away the corks from these bottles, some people manage to decorate the walls of the house with simply incredible mosaics. Such a tree will require incredible patience and perseverance, so let's look at all the options and quickly choose the right one.

How a palm tree is created from plastic bottles: 2 step-by-step instructions for every taste

Option 1

1. We prepare the base for palm trees. We find a metal sheet 40x60 cm, with a thickness of 0.5 cm. We weld two rods on it at an angle, at least 25 cm long. Metal tubes of the required height are then put on them (the diameter should be less than the neck of the containers used to form the trunk of the palm tree ). 6-7 pieces of pipe are welded onto the upper part of these supports so that from above the structure resembles a revolver drum.

2. We find a sufficient number of bottles and a thick (high-voltage) cable, the diameter of which is slightly smaller than the neck of the container. Such a cable will serve as a guide and retain the shape of the sheet.

3. Making palm leaves. To do this, we cut all the green bottles in half and cut the upper part into longitudinal strips, leaving the narrow neck intact (retreat half a finger from the lid). The thinner you cut the container, the more magnificent and natural the crown will turn out. It is allowed to use bottles with different silhouettes, this will not affect the overall contour of the palm leaf.

All blanks are strung on the cable so that one magnificent and continuous “sheet” is obtained. They need to be made according to the number of holes at the top of the metal support tube.

4. Cooking the trunk of a palm tree. To do this, you need dark brown dense bottles, from which you must first cut off the bottom (cut straight along the contours), and then cut it so that you get “petals”-segments bent inward. They will help to imitate the bumpy trunk of a palm tree. The length of the cut is 2/3 of the height of the container, the upper part remains intact. You can cut with either scissors or a clerical knife. Having prepared a sufficient number of components of the trunk, you can proceed to stringing on metal tubes. The bottles sit upside down and with a shift (like cones) to make a beautiful trunk.

5. After the formation of the trunk, we fix the palm leaves. We bend the cable and fix it from the side of the top of the tube and from inside the neck of the last bottle. To hide the lower part of the palm tree and give stability to the structure, it must be buried in the ground to a depth of 50 cm.

Option 2

1. Formation of the trunk. To do this, cut off 1/3 of the bottle, counting from the side of the neck. We cut out 8 petals or triangles on each part, leaving the narrowest part of the neck intact (retreat about half a finger from the lid). Each segment must be turned outward to form a scaly palm trunk. The second half of the bottle can be used in the same way, only you have to manually punch a hole of the desired diameter with a knife hot on the stove.

2. Formation of leaves. This palm differs from the previous version precisely in the shape of the leaves. This produces wide fan leaves, and you can combine green and yellow bottles to achieve a more natural shade. The splendor of the crown depends on the number of bottles, and the width of the sheet depends on the size of the container. For the formation of large tall trees it is better to take 6-liter bottles, and for small ones - the usual 1.5-liter ones.

First, the bottom of the bottle is cut off, and then the whole side surface is divided into three parts (not reaching the neck for half a finger). We give each segment the shape of a petal (we round off at the end, we narrow it near the neck), and then we unbend everything outward.

Then we cut the parts on both sides, forming a “fringe” of the palm leaf, leaving an uncut middle about 1.5 cm wide. To make the leaf look magnificent, we manually shape each strip, bending them in sequence: the first - down, the second - in place, the third - up, etc. The rest of the work is carried out in the same way as described in option 1.

Option 3

This palm tree plastic bottles differs from the previous options in the shape of the leaves and the type of trunk. So step by step.

1. Crown formation. To make the palm look lush, you need to use small bottles (up to 1.5 liters) and make as many leaves as possible. Palm leaves are the bottoms of green bottles strung on a hard cable. Preliminary, using a drill or a hot knife, holes are made according to the diameter of the cable. First, one end of the cable is fixed in the lid of the whole bottle, and then bottoms are put on it and the cable. The other end of the cable is fixed directly on the support.

2. Formation of the trunk. The difference from the previous options is also in the way to create a trunk. It does not use a metal support, but a log of small diameter. The bottoms of brown bottles are overlapped on it for volume (holes are made with a pre-hot knife or nail), so that from a distance the palm tree looks almost real.

As you can see, there is no limit to perfection. Such a palm tree made of plastic bottles can become a real decoration of the yard and a joy for the kids. Especially if you additionally decorate it with hand-made coconuts, bananas and plant a toy parrot or monkey on a tree.

With original crafts made from plastic bottles, you can easily decorate your site! Such material is quite durable and easy to process, thanks to which a wide variety of products are created.

For example, you can create a wonderful palm tree from plastic bottles with your own hands! Such an evergreen palm will all year round decorate your site or, for example, a playground.

This master class will help you make such a craft!

You will need materials and tools such as:

- plastic bottles brown shade and green;
- scissors;
- stationery knife;
- thick wire for the frame.

To begin with, it is worth deciding how high the palm tree will be. In this case, the palm tree will be approximately 1.5 meters high, and the second one will be 50 cm. For this, you need about 23-25 bottles of brown shade per trunk and 15 bottles of green shade for the crown!

To create a barrel, brown bottles need to be cut in half as in the photo below.

We need bottles of different sizes, those that are larger to use at the base, and smaller ones, at the top of the trunk. Bottle caps must be removed. You will need both the top of the bottle and the bottom.

Then, the edges of the blanks are cut out in the form of petals, about 6 “petals” should be obtained.

After, they need to be bent.

It should turn out like this.

In the future, they will fold into each other. Since there is no hole for the wire at the bottom of the bottle, it must be made using a hot nail, a knife, or it can also be drilled. Having folded the blanks, you get a rather fluffy trunk of a palm tree.

After all the details on the palm tree trunk are ready, you need to start creating palm leaves!

Bottles can be used in different shades of green. You can also experiment with the volume of containers, for example, use two-liter containers at the base, and arrange smaller ones at the top. To do this, on green bottles you need to cut off the neck and bottom.

Then, cut the bottle into three pieces.

If you want wider leaves, you can cut it only into two parts. You will get such a preparation.

After, the strips need to be straightened in different directions.

This will give some splendor to the crown!

Now, the simplest and final stage in creating a palm tree from plastic containers!

After all the details are ready, you need to securely install a frame made of wire or other suitable material at the desired location on the site. And then, string on the frame all the received parts of the palm tree.

Using a large cork from a five-liter bottle, make a retainer on top to securely fasten the leaves. To do this, in the center of the cork, you need to make a hole, a slightly smaller diameter than the frame.

Then, after the crown is fully assembled, put it on the wire!

That's all, it turned out to be a very original palm tree that can be installed on the site or on the playground!

Palm tree from plastic bottles: step-by-step instructions with a photo for creating the base of the trunk

Based on photos and step by step instructions, creating a palm tree with your own hands will be quite easy. You can involve children and all household members in the process, as it is truly exciting and interesting.

For work you will need to prepare:

  • at least 100 pieces of plastic bottles of brown and green color;
  • a candle;
  • wire;
  • iron pin or fittings;
  • scissors.

On a note! To create an extravagant tree, you can use material in other shades. If there is no raw material of the required color, it is worth using transparent bottles, which are then easy to paint.

It is optimal to use containers with a volume of 1.5-2 liters. From them the construction of the most natural appearance.

Step 1 - First prepare the trunk of the palm tree. Brown containers are used for this. With a knife they are cut in the middle. The bottom fragment is recommended to be made a little larger. You don't need to throw anything away. Everything will be used in the work.

Step 2 - The half with the neck is cut. This must be done in eight places. The incisions are made to the area of narrowing of the container.

Step 3 - A petal is formed from each received fragment. It is optimal to give each part the shape of a triangle. At the same time, a fold must be made at the base, after which peculiar flowers should be opened from them.

Step 4 - Fragments with a bottom will need to be cut in the same way. In the middle of each part, it is still necessary to make a hole with a diameter equal to the size of the neck.

On a note! To make it easier to work with plastic, it is recommended to use a hot knife.

Do-it-yourself palm tree from bottles: we make foliage

After the base is ready, you can proceed to the creation of foliage. Based on the master class, the work will not seem difficult. For this you need to use green bottles.

Step 1 - Cut off the bottom of the bottles and the neck.

Step 3 - Shaping the sheets. The lower parts of the cuts will need to be slightly twisted to make them round. In the neck area, it is recommended to narrow the fragments, after which they need to be straightened on a flat surface.

Step 4 - All large parts must also be cut on each side. 2 cm should remain in the center. Scissors must be placed along an oblique path. The cuts should go to a narrower center from the sides that have been rounded.

Note! To make the composition lush and voluminous, each strip must be unbent through one up and down.

How to make a palm tree from plastic bottles: assembly video

When all the fragments for the palm tree are prepared, you can start assembling the composition with your own hands.

On a note! Iron pin or polypropylene pipe perfect for stock. The main thing is that the diameter is small, since all workpieces will need to be attached to this material.

After selecting the stem and forming the elements of the plastic exotic tree you can assemble the composition. It is recommended to alternately thread fragments onto the barrel. Parts are fixed upside down. Larger parts come first, and then smaller ones.

When most of the trunk is ready, you can move on to the foliage. At a height between the brown elements, petals must be inserted. It is recommended to work in a checkerboard pattern. The first piece of green color should be fixed on the pipe with tape. Then the leaves also need to be fastened alternately so that the gaps are securely hidden.

You can decorate the finished palm tree with balls resembling coconuts, or make bananas from improvised materials.

What gardener wouldn't want an exotic palm tree to decorate their backyard?

The first stage is preparatory. In order for the design of such an original decoration to be successful, you must have everything you need at hand. The main material from which the tree will be made is plastic bottles of green and Brown. We will use green bottles to create the leaves of the evergreen, brown ones for the trunk. The amount of plastic containers determines the size of your tree, i.e. the more bottles, the taller and more lush the tree, you will get the most lush leaves using a 2-liter container. Before proceeding to mastery, all bottles must be cleaned of paper stickers and labels.

As an auxiliary tool for mastery, you need to prepare:

  • stationery knife
  • sharp scissors
  • wide adhesive tape
  • a metal base with rods, which will later play the role of a trunk
  • a rope with which you will tie the base of the leaves on a palm tree.

The next step is the manufacture of the product itself.

Remember that in order for the tree to look aesthetically pleasing and beautiful, all bottles must be the same size and diameter. In the manufacture, we will use two colors - brown and green, so if your green bottles are “various in size”, then a smaller container can be attached to the base of the crown, but as for brown ones, vessels of the same size are needed here.

The production of an exotic tree involves three main stages:

Creation of leaves;

Barrel assembly;

Gathering all the parts and shaping the tree itself.

With a sharp clerical knife, the bottle is cut into two parts, where the upper half will play the role of foliage, and we do not need the lower half. In the upward direction to the neck, with scissors or a knife, the bottle is cut into small longitudinal strips, and this is done with each green bottle. Then such a kind of foliage from half bottles is strung on top of each other, connecting them with a strong tourniquet or rope. A cork is screwed on the last and first bottle, through which a tourniquet is threaded and tied into a knot so that the container fits snugly together. The top of the palm tree should consist of 5-6-7 leaves, so depending on the amount of containers available, you create your tree, controlling the size and splendor.

After the foliage is ready in in full, we go to the trunk. The barrel, as mentioned earlier, is made from brown bottles of a similar diameter, cut off the lower base with a knife, after which wide longitudinal cuts are made towards the neck, there should be 6 such longitudinal fragments. After a similar action has been done with each brown bottle, they are fixed to each other, like green vessels, only the plastic barrel must now be put on a metal rod in an upright position.

At the upper base of the trunk, the foliage is fixed, evenly distributing it on all sides. With the help of adhesive tape and a tourniquet, the leaves are attached to the trunk. Our tree is ready, it remains only to find a place for it in your garden.

Let's move on to the installation. Ideally, this is a welded metal platform, in the absence of this, immersion in the ground by 40-50 cm. For the durability of your skill, it would be good to compact the tree installation site with soil or concrete.

Such an evergreen tree African savannah turn your backyard into a real oasis!

  • barrel base (metal pin or hollow plastic tube);
  • strong rope;
  • wire.
For trunks and leaves, you need to select bottles of the same size so that ready product looked complete. For maximum realism decorative palm you should look for green and brown material, but this is not at all necessary.

Instructions for making leaves

At first glance, it may seem that making a tree from plastic bottles with your own hands is very difficult. But if you act in stages, it turns out that it is not only easy, but also very exciting.

First of all, let's start making the crown of a palm tree. Take a plastic bottle and cut off the bottom, about 1/3 the length of the bottle. The bottom will no longer be useful, and the part with the neck will become a blank for foliage. Palm leaves can be of two types: fluffy and tulip-shaped. In the first case, using a clerical knife or scissors, we make longitudinal cuts towards the neck, without cutting 3-4 cm to it. The width of the strips can be arbitrary, but the crown of small leaves looks most spectacular.

The second version of the leaves is made in the following way: the blank is cut into four equal parts (cuts towards the neck of the bottle); we bend each of the parts and with the help of scissors we give the shape of a needle-shaped, figured sheet.

How to make a palm tree from bottles, the first or second way - Decide for yourself, it's a matter of taste. Ready leaves will need to be collected into a branch. To do this, take a rope or cable and alternately string all the workpieces in one direction so that the neck enters the cavity of the previous bottle. About 5-7 finished blanks will take one branch of a palm tree. Be sure to screw the cork onto the neck of the first “sheet” - this is necessary to fix the rope. Remember to leave a long edge so that you can collect all the branches together later.

Important! If you have a child, and the palm tree will be within his reach, then the edges of the slices of plastic bottles should be melted so that the baby does not get hurt.

How to create a trunk for a palm tree

We proceed to the next stage of making palm trees from plastic bottles - stem assembly.

The trunk of a palm tree can also be made in several ways, and here are some of the best ones:

Did you know? One of the palm-record holders is decorative tree, the trunk of which reaches 4.5 m in height.

Connection of the trunk and crown of an evergreen tree

The final step in assembling your craft will be the connection of the finished parts: branches and trunk. This is a very important and crucial part, because the stability of the entire structure depends on how correctly everything is done. We will tell you how to make a tree from plastic bottles safe and reliable.

Here the rest of the inventory will come to the rescue: adhesive tape, construction glue and wire.

To begin with, we connect the left edges of the rope on which the leaves were strung into a bundle and wrap them with tape. If additional fixation is needed, we tie the branches of the leaves with wire, wrapping it around the bases of the necks. The resulting beam is connected to the tree trunk with glue (or construction foam). If necessary, at the junction, we make a few more skeins of tape.
