Explains how it's done

Last summer, my son-in-law and daughter, knowing my love for everything African, gave me a papyrus. It was in Paris, this papyrus was on a tablet under glass when I bought it and the glass was pressed against metal brackets. Naturally, when I arrived home, I found that the glass was broken, even though the papyrus was packed carefully ... For almost half a year it lay rolled up into a tube, then I decided it was time. , on which the masters insisted) and I decided to let my papyrus lie folded.

2. On the left is the batik that my son-in-law brought from Africa, there is a frame that I ordered in the workshop, under bamboo. Of course, I wanted the papyrus to have a bamboo frame. hardware store bamboo of different diameters, but no one sold one stick, they somehow consider it in a special way ... in bunches, as a result it turns out not cheap ... And hunting is worse than bondage! I was looking for alternatives and I found it! This is where, in fact, the bamboo secret begins))

3. The fact is that there is no bamboo in my bamboo frame! I found the idea and something like MK in the internet. With my photos I will show how I personally made bamboo. Maybe the one who posted this MK on the Internet is our resident and recognizes his offspring, I will be glad to meet you, I do not in any way claim authorship!

4. For a bamboo frame, you need thin, dense tubes of foil or food film. The tubes may differ slightly in diameter - this is bamboo, but in nature it is different.

5. I cut the tubes, but it seems to me that whole ones are also possible, for example, I saved money, because I had few tubes and I like it better when the frame has a flat side.

6. First sample. The stretcher was glued together from 2 corrugated cardboard sheets, the front side was covered with a velvet adhesive film, the back with wallpaper. On the top bar you can see that the sizes of the tubes are different.

7. I glued each prepared "stick" with pieces of some wrapping paper (I found it in the bins) I glued a jute rope under the paper in several places (future bamboo jumper rings). the smaller one.

8. We cover the tubes that have dried from the glue with brown putty (I smeared everything well with my finger, paying attention to the jumpers).

9. When the tubes dried out, I carefully processed them with fine sandpaper. In places of jumpers I went over with a brush with brown paint and, without waiting for it to dry, I kind of stretched the paint away from the jumpers, thereby making the color transition smooth and natural. Photo, unfortunately, carried away by the process, I forgot to take, but the principle, I think, is clear. Who wants specific color bamboo (under the interior, for example) paints with its own shades, but I almost didn’t paint, the putty was brown, plus I stretched the brown paint from the jumpers and when varnishing, the color became darker and brighter, so Ileft this option.

10. Well, one more corner.

In countries where bamboo grows, it is often used in the construction of fences, as this material is durable and inexpensive. For example, in Japan, where bamboo sale conducted almost everywhere and at a low price, bamboo is used to make neat sections from which the fence is assembled (the sections are mounted on pre-dug posts).

But in Russia, bamboo is a rare plant, and although in selling bamboo you can find it, its cost is quite high, so not everyone can afford a bamboo fence. Simple calculation: if you found in selling bamboo at a price of 100 rubles for a 4-meter trunk with a diameter of 3 cm, then running meter a fence with a height of 2 meters will cost about 1,700 rubles. Of course, not solid and low decorative bamboo fences will cost much less (2-4 times). Such fences will always find a place in landscape design performed in oriental style. In addition, bamboo trunks can be used as inserts in sections of a fence made of another material - they will add originality and unusualness. appearance fence. In any case, when choosing a material for a fence, try to find in selling bamboo- you may not need so many trunks and the total cost will suit you.

Bamboo Decor - Garden Pyramid

Pyramids in the garden are used as columnar supports for climbing plants and liana. Also this bamboo decor can be used in winter to protect seedlings and stunted trees from excessive snow pressure, while protecting plants from frost.

Why bamboo? First, any bamboo decor quite beautiful and decorates the site. Secondly, bamboo is distinguished by high strength. Thirdly, bamboo is a lightweight material, it will not be difficult to transfer a pyramid from it. The design of the bamboo pyramid is foldable, so it is not only easy to carry, but also convenient, and it does not take up much space during storage.

Fans of Japanese and Chinese cuisine know what will be discussed. Every time after visiting a restaurant with oriental cuisine, I return home with a bunch of used bamboo sticks tightly clutched in a sweaty fist. Well, I can’t leave them, although they are considered uniquely disposable, but I can’t - that’s all! Because I know how to give them a second life full of beautiful transformations. For example like this....

O! This is my favorite topic! How many hair clips have I made myself? different colors and for all occasions, and to tell about it in more detail, all hands did not reach. And here - time! The master class was already ready, from meribesi

The idea is so simple it's even funny. We give a second life to used Chinese sticks, not as an addition to work, but as an independent unit. Since the first photo should highlight the result of our work, you see hairpins for long hair.

Long loose hair is very beautiful, but there are times when they just need to be removed in the hair so as not to interfere. I love wooden hair clips. But I have a dog - I didn’t know that she was from the rodent family, but she confirms this whenever it comes down to it wooden sticks. And every time I inadvertently leave them at her level, they turn into something like this...

And so, having suffered with shopping, I came to ... a locker with used and washed Chinese chopsticks. I took them in my hands .... and ... in principle - hairpins in Japanese style ready! Look...

But we are creative people, so we will not stop there. We will decorate, so that no one would have guessed what our decoration is made of. I decided to show only a few options, decorating with what was at hand ... You can take other materials - the master's flight of fancy is inexhaustible, buttons, chains, beads, pebbles, shells, anything will do!

But first, we remove the length of the sticks, since the sticks are long. But you can not do this - I made three sets - the set decorated in the style of paper art is not shortened. I ask children not to do this without parental control, since a paper knife is dangerous and traumatic (you will cut yourself, God forbid). We select even sticks, because they may be bent.

Put a couple of sticks on cutting board, equalize the ends and outline the cutting line. I decided to cut off the ends as I like the thick side on the other side and the thin side is easier to break. Of course, you can do it easier with a jigsaw, but I don’t have one and that’s why I show how to do it without any special tools.

This is how the break line was marked.

Then, in turn, on each of the sticks in a circle, we deepen the line of breaking the stick, the deeper the better we break the stick. So we press, we file as much as we can.

I don't have much strength, so here's the line.

We begin to break, gently away from ourselves, so as not to get hurt.

We broke the stick, if it has not exfoliated, then we continue. If it has exfoliated, we set it aside - hair will get stuck in it.

We sharpen the edge as it was in the form of a pencil. I remind you that you can break off the other edge, then you just need to sharpen the broken place on the sandpaper and that's it.

And we bring to mind on a nail file (sandpaper). sharpen to the sharpness we need.

Do not forget that along the entire length of the stick there are also flaws, we remove them with the help of the same nail file.

When everything is ready, do not forget to carefully put the tools in their places and take everything you need to decorate our sticks.
