SINGLE-SEAT BI-PLANES

SINGLE BEAM AIRCRAFT

Some of the presented models are found practical use in national economy for chemical treatment of fields and aerial photography.
Blueprints homemade aircraft are extensive design documentation.

This cord model is recommended for beginners. In the time-tested design, changes have been made to the engine mount. The use of a "fighting" motor mount allows you to quickly replace the engines, and protects the wooden nose of the fuselage from damage. For the manufacture of such a model will not require scarce or expensive materials. And gluing of all knots is made on epoxy resin.

Description of the aircraft cord model

The fuselage of the cord model of the aircraft is made of linden 12 mm thick. With a planer, the workpiece is narrowed to the tail section up to 6 mm. The bow is reinforced with overlays (plywood 1 mm). The wing lodgement is cut out of plywood 1.5 mm thick, then molded in place in the soaked form.

Aircraft Yak-12

For additional fixation of the lodgment, in addition to glue, screws with a countersunk head are used. Lastly, the wing pins are glued. The motor frame is sawn out of duralumin corners 10 × 10 mm.

Wing cord model aircraft. Typical ribs are cut out of plywood 1 mm thick, and two central ones are cut out of light ("aspen") plywood 3 mm thick. The inner ending is also cut out of lightweight plywood. External ending - plywood 6 mm thick (partial loading of the right console). All ribs are processed in a package, after which they are lightened individually. The lining of the inner ending is cut out of plywood 1 mm thick. In the place where the cord is pulled out, a piece of plywood with a vertical arrangement of fibers is glued.

The spar wall in the central part of the wing is made of lightweight plywood (two central ribs will have to be sawn to remove excess material). The spar and edges are made of lime slats. After assembling the wing of the aircraft model, its central part is sheathed with millimetric plywood. Lastly, the lining and scarves are mounted on the ends. The finished wing is covered with lavsan on BF-2 or BF-10, or with branded thermal film. On the wing at the point of contact with the lining of the fuselage, a small skin is glued on a fabric basis.

Tail plumage of a cord model aircraft. The keel is cut out of 1 mm plywood, and the stabilizer and elevator are made of light plywood 3 mm thick. The elevator is hung on a thread "attachment". Before installation, the stabilizer and steering wheel must be primed with two layers of liquid nitro varnish. To eliminate the risk of warping, it is useful to fix the parts on a flat surface during drying. To do this, use cuttings of rails and some kind of load, and pieces of lavsan film as a separating layer.

The control system of the cord model of the aircraft. The rocking chair and its bracket are cut out of an aluminum plate 2-2.5 mm thick. After bending the bracket, an MOH thread is cut in it for the rocking screw. The elevator rod is sanded out of the lime rail. Wire tips are fixed with nylon threads with nitro glue.

Landing gear cord model aircraft. The main stand is made of OBC wire with a diameter of 3 mm. The wheel is fixed with removable washers. The tail strut is similar to the main strut, but is made of wire with a diameter of 1.5 mm. Before gluing, the upper part of this part must be flattened and notches made with a needle file.

The propeller group of the cord model of the aircraft. Recommended KMD engine with propeller "Thermic" 220×125 mm. A conventional fuel tank is soldered from tin-plate.

Assembly and finishing of the cord model of the aircraft. After making holes for the fastening screws, it is advisable to impregnate them with nitro-glue. wooden details models are covered with two layers of nitro-lacquer. Nitroenamel is used for background painting, and self-adhesive film is used for finishing. The wing is attached to the fuselage with oil-resistant rubber rings.

Monoplane (from Greek μόνος, "one" and Latin. planum, "plane") - an aircraft that has one bearing surface (one wing), as opposed to a biplane or triplane. Monoplanes became a popular design in the aircraft industry in the early 1930s. According to the height of the wing installation relative to the fuselage, monoplanes are divided into the following types: low-wing; low wing, the lower surface of the wing is flush with or below the base of the fuselage. medium plans; the middle of the wing, the wing is set halfway to the fuselage. shoulder wing, the wing is installed above the middle of the fuselage. high wingers; high wing, the upper surface of the wing is flush with or higher than the top of the fuselage. parasol (from French parasol - umbrella) - the wing is located above the fuselage. If the wing of a monoplane is not supported by braces, struts or struts, it is called cantilever. Compared to a biplane, the wing of a cantilever monoplane is heavier, but such a wing has higher flight characteristics.

Exploration Some of the first attempts at heavier-than-air airplanes were monoplanes; The monoplane built in 1874 by Felix du Temple de la Croix is one example. Other early attempted monoplane flights were performed in 1884 by Alexander Mozhaisky and Clement Ader in 1890. Tereshchenko F.F., Zembinsky S.S. Monoplane Country: Russia, 1912

The craft must be beautiful and original. 3. Made aesthetically and neatly. 4. The product should not be difficult to manufacture. 5. Complied with manufacturing technology. 6. The cost price should be small. 7. Environmentally friendly. eight. Finished work should be aesthetically pleasing to the eye and please the brother. Basic requirements for a gift:

Materials: Plywood, colored materials - paints, varnish, glitter stickers.

Tools: Stationery knife. Ruler. Hacksaw. Sandpaper. Glue gun.

Safety precautions when working with a cutter: - do not work with a knife in the direction of your body; - hold the knife handle firmly; - use only well-sharpened knives and tools; - make sure that the hands and the handle of the knife are dry; - do not leave the knife in position cutting edge up; - do not leave the knife stuck in objects or between them; - do not try to catch a falling knife; - do not use the knife for other purposes; - retract the knife after each use.

Safety precautions when working with a hacksaw: 1. The workpiece must be correctly and steadily fixed on a workbench or table. 2. When working with a hacksaw, jerks should be avoided and the blade should not be bent. 3. Never guide the saw blade with your finger. 4. The hand holding the workpiece must be at a safe distance from the saw. 5. A special brush is used to clean the chips.

Safety with glue gun: insert the hot glue gun loaded with the rod into the socket and heat it up, touch it, press the buttons, etc. no need to let it warm up required time(5-15 minutes, depending on the gun). when the glue has warmed up and become liquid, we bring the hot glue gun to the work surface and begin work. the most unpleasant thing that can be in a hot glue gun is the tip, a hot nozzle from which glue flows. Do not touch this part of the gun, you can get burned. Be careful! The glue inside the gun is heated to a very high temperature, so you need to work with it carefully so as not to accidentally burn yourself.

Do-it-yourself quick production of an aircraft model

Aircraft modeling is an interesting hobby, it is interesting not only for children but for adults.
The only negative is the cost of aircraft models.
Not electronics, it practically does not suffer, but the aircraft model itself, which rarely flies more than 3-4 times in inexperienced hands.

In order to gain experience, you need to change 3-4 aircraft models, and this is not always affordable.
I propose to make an aircraft model with your own hands for outdoor flights.

For simplification and ease of manufacture, it is best to take as a basis the manufacturing technology of flat planes.

A flat plane is an aircraft model made of ceiling tiles (yes, the same one that is sold in in large numbers on the construction markets), made using contour technology - only the contour is reproduced from a real aircraft in an aircraft model.

So let's get started.

First you need to download a drawing of an aircraft model - for example, download drawings of a P40-Warhawk aircraft model or.
Now we print out the drawings, stick it on the ceiling and cut it out.

Here are the blanks obtained

The fuselage is cut to length and glued wooden lath to strengthen the fuselage.
It is better to make ceilings from 2 layers, glue Titanium with glue for ceiling tiles.

In front of the fuselage we install an electric motor
It could be a collector

or a modern brushless model aircraft engine

For control, it is necessary to make steering planes, in our case it will be the ailerons and the elevator.
We cut them off where they are indicated in the drawing and connect them with adhesive tape - as shown in the figure below

We install hogs on the plane, traction will be attached to them

Installing electronics.

We attach one servo machine to the wing and connect it with elastic wire rods to the aileron horns.

We put the other one at half the length of the fuselage and connect it to the elevator.

You can simply cut holes for the servos and fix them with a glue gun or glue them onto the Titan - in the latter case, it is advisable to wrap the servo with paper tape beforehand.

On the fuselage we fix the receiver, the engine speed controller and the battery.

It is necessary to fix it in such a way that the center of gravity of the aircraft model falls on 23-25% of the wing width. Then the model aircraft will fly well.

It remains only to put the screw and go flying! Based on materials from the website Radio Controlled Aircraft Models

very interesting but I'd rather buy a Zhiguli

Misha comments:

I bought something like a similar small-sized product, because of the low power of the motors and everything else, it blows away with a draft into the distant distances, but when it falls, it plans and practically does not break, it didn’t work out on purpose - at a distance of 20 meters it loses control and switches to autopilot))) smoothly settling into the grass. if the electronics were ready to help, it would be interesting ...

SINGLE-SEAT BI-PLANES

SINGLE BEAM AIRCRAFT

Modern life is developing in such a way that already becoming parents, we do not always have enough time for our children. Being puzzled by the issue of earnings and material security, dads, who are so needed by their children, quite often do not have the strength for games and entertainment. Therefore, all busy dads who are happy owners of wonderful sons will find this master class very useful, which will help you build an airplane together with your child in just 1 hour. Let it not be an exact copy of a Boeing or a fighter, having the most important details in its arsenal, but a pleasant pastime together will help to create such a toy from improvised materials that the baby will be very happy with. Just imagine with what pride among the guys your precious son will declare that this toy was made for him by his dad, himself, with his own hands, and he helped. Such moments are the most valuable in life and will help you forget about the accumulated fatigue at the end of a hard day's work.
So, let's start manufacturing the simplest aircraft of the Yak-12 model. In order to complete such a model, you will need the following tools and materials:
plywood or thick cardboard;
manual jigsaw on wood;
a sheet of paper for the template;
pencil or marker;
sandpaper (if working with plywood).
The first step towards creating a model is its template (drawing). In my case, there was a clipping from an old magazine, which can be easily copied to a blank White list. To facilitate the task, you can use our template by printing it on a printer.

After the paper parts are cut out, they must be attached to the plywood, circled along the contour, after which the templates are removed to the side.

When the contours of the future aircraft are drawn on plywood, they must be carefully cut out. To do this, you need to take a jigsaw on a tree and carefully cut out all the parts, you should be especially careful about small details that hold the main ones together.

The last step is to collect all the details. To do this, you do not need to use any glue or other fastening components, all parts are inserted one into one.

So, having spent only an hour of time, you can special work make a plane that, even if it doesn’t fly, will be one of your child’s favorite toys. Do not forget that you can also involve the baby himself in the work, entrusting him with the most pleasant part of the work - decorating. You can decorate the plane by painting it with paints, adding stickers in the form of stars, animals or other elements, or you can leave it as is.

A plywood plane is a common type of fake that you can easily do yourself.

Important qualities of the material are considered:

  • Ecological cleanliness;
  • Durability;
  • Strength.

Plywood is used in many industries: in the manufacture of aircraft, ships, cars. This type of material always remains popular and indispensable in creative processes. craftsman and designer. Products obtained with its help are able to amaze the imagination.

Tool and material preparation

To design an aircraft model, you must first prepare suitable material and toolkit. It is recommended to stock up without fail:

  • With a manual jigsaw on wood, because electric tools will not help in this case, everything is done manually.
  • Model plywood, the thickness of which is chosen 3 mm or 7 mm, this type of material is called three-layer and seven-layer, respectively.
  • Pencil, ruler.
  • Sandpaper and a square file for processing parts of the structure.
  • PVA glue or any other glue that is intended for gluing wood.
  • Patience and desire to bring joy to the child.

Start building with markings of all elements of the future design, namely with the following:

  • fuselage;
  • Wings;
  • stabilizer.

Attention! You can initially draw drawings of aircraft from plywood on a sheet of paper, then transfer them to plywood fragments. It is also possible to draw elements directly on plywood sheets.

Without the availability of certain dimensions to create a structure, if the model is invented on the go without templates and drawings, they are repelled from specific wingspan indicators when assembling the unit. The optimal parameters for this structure can be taken as 30 cm for the span length. With an increase in the length of the wingspan, the size of the aircraft itself increases accordingly.

Create blanks

If the question arises, how to make an airplane out of plywood, you should start the process with creating preparatory elements:

  • The constituent elements can be easily drawn by hand, because there is nothing complicated. Usually start with the fuselage, the length of which can be made 10 mm longer than the length of the wings. The body of the product is hand drawn, giving the desired shape to the airplane.
  • On the body of the fuselage, it is recommended to immediately make joints in the form of spikes for attaching the wings. Thanks to such connections, prefabricated models from this material they are created quite strong and are simply connected with glue, therefore, they must be used.
  • When the parameters of the wings have already been calculated - a length of 30 cm and a corresponding width of 8-10 cm, you need to take into account the correct proportion. Since the lower wings must necessarily be made a maximum of 10 mm shorter than the upper ones.
  • It remains to draw the struts as wing support elements and sketch the rear flap, stabilizer.

After completing the above procedures, it's time to start cutting out parts with a jigsaw. According to the drawn contours, all spare parts for the product are carefully cut out. When getting some irregularities, you do not need to be upset, they will not be too noticeable.

Note! The parts obtained by cutting out are polished with emery cloths until the aircraft is assembled. After all, already finished construction it will be inconvenient to grind it, there is also a high probability of damage to the airplane.

Assembly

It is not difficult to make an airplane out of plywood with your own hands. With the fuselage studs already prepared, it's time to start creating the grooves for the wings, as well as for the fasteners on the hull and for the struts that support the wings. It is convenient to use a file during the assembly process and make fitting connections with greater accuracy.

The assembly begins with the installation of a stabilizer, which is glued to the tail of the product. Next, install the wings in their places with an adhesive solution that is applied to the joints and install the upper wings. By flipping the model, racks are installed to support these elements, having previously applied glue to the connection points.

Next, the lower wings are to be installed. In the same way, the butt joints on the aircraft are carefully smeared with adhesive solution when it is already in the assembled state. After that, you need to let the structure rest while the glue dries.

Elevator and rudder

The model of the aircraft made of plywood ensures that there are no difficulties during the manufacture of the rudder elements. They may appear during their installation. After all, you need to make an even installation so that there are no difficulties during the flight of the product. When creating a steering wheel, it should be noted that the connecting jumper of both halves small size and needs to be strengthened. Strengthening can be done with a thin strip of a ruler, putting it on glue. It is possible to increase the area of this site.

There is the possibility of strengthening with the help of carbon tubes. Upon completion of the amplification, they are covered with adhesive tape, after which warming up is strictly prohibited. The adhesive tape holds the element with sufficient quality, and when you try to heat it, it becomes possible to shift the stabilizer. For the rudder, the same recommendations apply.

The elevator is leveled using struts, which are made of thin knitting needles. There should be no problems when gluing into the fuselage, it is a simple process.

And with the rudder, problems can arise - you need to work hard to install it evenly. For gluing into the fuselage, the tips from the rods are used, which are glued to the knitting needles. It is also recommended to use the installation of supports from the rulers. So that the supports for strengthening the elevator are not conspicuous, they can be hidden under white tape.

Chassis

The aluminum rulers for building the chassis proved to be an ideal option for creating the product. Wheels can be taken from toy products.

It will be reliable to manufacture the structure from one ruler, but you can use two rulers of 15 cm each. Here the extra parts are cut off and bent according to the drawing. Better on this stage combine gluing and drilling holes for fixing screws.

Install the chassis after tightening. Before the gluing process, I used the method of gluing the desired element, wrapping it with thread loop to loop beforehand, after which it is lubricated with an adhesive solution.

Hood

This element is recommended to be made, as an option, from a ceiling strip. A rectangle is cut out 7 cm wide and about 30 cm long, applied to the nose of the aircraft and wrapped. The bottom is glued with tape. An important point consider choosing the right direction for bending the ceiling. There are cases where the heating method is used to create suitable part shapes. A propeller from a processor cooler with suitable size. This helps to solve problems with the ventilation of the engine compartments. You can limit yourself to the stickers of the blinds printed on the printer from the drawing diagram.

Drawing Features

When they don’t know how to make an airplane out of plywood, drawings in finished version may be appropriate. Gluing is easy - there are marks on the sheets that can be combined to obtain the correct lines without displacement.

When transferring the image to the ceiling, two options can be used:

  • The first involves fixing the sheet on the ceiling with pins and piercing along the contour with a thin awl. After, for clarity, the holes obtained on the ceiling are connected using a pencil, or you can cut them with a sharp knife. On a straight section, it will be sufficient to make several punctures, and on curves, transfer from large quantity punctures.
  • The second option is suitable if the drawing is printed on an inkjet printer. To transfer, moisten the tile, apply a drawing and iron it on a smooth surface with a warm iron. The picture remains on a fragment of the material.

When placing a drawing, take into account that ceiling tiles different bending strength. I check this moment by bending the sheet on different sides.

Here the top and bottom of the aircraft are shown as halves with different sizes. For the correct tracing of lines, it is advised to first draw one half, then make it mirror reflection. top divided into two segments - the front one runs from the nose of the car to the leading edge of the wing; back from the end of the product to the trailing edge.

When creating a do-it-yourself plywood plane, drawings are simply indispensable for the workflow.

Modern parents have the opportunity to buy any toys for their children. Understanding comes with experience. When it became possible to have a lot, people began to appreciate homemade toys in a special way: wooden cars and airplanes, dolls sewn from scraps. Of course, you can also just buy all this. But the warmth of the hands of parents who create toys for their children will certainly be transferred to an object made by themselves. And how exciting the process of creativity for adults!

We make models from plywood

Making models of aircraft from plywood with your own hands, and not only aircraft, was a popular pastime for schoolchildren in Soviet time. Drawings and diagrams of models were published in the magazines "Young Technician", and there were circles of aircraft modeling in almost every Palace of Pioneers. Every self-respecting teenager has made at least one model of an airplane out of plywood with a jigsaw. We invite you to remember your childhood and make an airplane out of plywood. The model of the legendary dive bomber Pe-2 was chosen as a prototype.

We offer for assembly, published in the supplement to the magazine "Young Technician" for 1980 (No. 2), a project, but you, of course, can choose any project that you like. The aircraft is made of plywood with a thickness of 1.5 to 4 mm, the main parts of the hull, ribs, tail unit are made from it. Of course, it is better to have a special plywood for modeling.

Chronicle of a dive bomber

Pe-2 is a formidable combat vehicle of the Second World War. The development of the aircraft began in 1938 at the design bureau of the NKVD. The author of the project is aviation engineer V.M. Petlyakov. Serial production of the aircraft began in 1940 at the Kazan Aviation Plant.

The Pe-2 bomber, according to the NATO classification Buck, is the most mass-produced Soviet bomber. Belongs to the low-wing type, has a two-keel plumage. The car has excellent aerodynamic qualities, the potential of which was not even fully utilized during the Great Patriotic War. The photo of the aircraft clearly shows how outstanding it was.

  • wingspan - 17.13 m;
  • length - 12.66 m;
  • engine power - 2x1100 hp;
  • wing area - 40.5 m²;
  • crew - 3 people: pilot, navigator, gunner;
  • maximum speed - 540 km / h;
  • high ceiling - 8700 m;
  • combat load - up to 1000 kg (in the bomb bay and on the external sling);

The Pe-2 aircraft was produced from 1941 to 1945. It was finally withdrawn from service in 1954.

Where to begin

Let's start making an airplane out of plywood with our own hands by building a working drawing of the details. To make a drawing of an airplane out of plywood, you can take graph paper. Using a 32x32 mm grid, draw the aircraft body, the image of which is shown in photo 1. The drawing of the wing end rib is shown in photo 2. We draw this detail on a 10x10 mm grid.

What and how to do

For the manufacture of the fuselage will require two pieces of plywood. Cutting elements with a jigsaw must be done carefully. If not stationary machine jigsaw, it is better to use manual. Between the plywood parts we will make an insert made of dense foam. The transparent cockpit canopy can be made from thin sheet plexiglass.

For stabilizers and elevators, you can take, if available, linden plates, 4 mm thick, or make them also from plywood. For the manufacture of spars and the leading and trailing edges of the wing, it is better to have lime rails, 5x27, 15x15 and 5x20 mm thick. From plywood 2 mm thick, cut out the ribs. The connection of the spar and ribs is shown in photo 3. Assemble and glue the elements of the wing. Attach the resulting wing parts to the body, carefully sawing the grooves. After that, you can attach the motor gandolas. If you install engines in the gandolas, then at the end of the work you can not only admire the result, but also send the model aircraft to fly on a long line. For this, micromotors with a volume of up to 2.5 cm³ are suitable.

For landing gear take steel wire with a diameter of 4 mm. The photo shows the design of the racks. Chassis struts and wheel axle bracket can be soldered from a tube. The wheel has a collapsible hub that rotates on a hub. The wheel itself can be machined out of rubber. The tail wheel has a similar design.

We process the assembled model of the aircraft with fine sandpaper. Paste the body and wings along the ribs with paper. For these purposes, mica paper is suitable. Mica paper (BDH paper) is made from cotton and has long fibers. Then cover everything with varnish in two layers. After drying, fix the remaining parts - machine guns, gas tanks, steering rod. Taking into account the scheme of the aircraft, paint it with nitro paint.

Results

Cutting an airplane out of plywood, assembling it and setting it up for flight is an exciting process, but it requires painstaking work. But the product will be a wonderful gift for a child, if, of course, you can give your creation into small hands that can turn a beautiful product into a pile of plywood chips in the blink of an eye.

Perhaps if the boy himself is involved in the work, then the production time will, of course, increase, but who knows, maybe you are raising a new aircraft designer?
