9.9.4. Multi-speed motors A2, AO2 seriesThe engines of the A2 and AO2 series were designed to drive mechanisms with step speed control. They were developed on the basis of IM series AOL2 1 - 3rd size and AO2 3 - 9th size in the power range from 0.43 to 45 kW. Degree of protection HELL - IP44 in accordance with GOST 17494-72. Rated operating mode - continuous S1 according to GOST 183-74. Technical data HELL series AO2 for nomi-
nal mode of operation, depending on the speed, are indicated in Table. 9.62. The ratio of the minimum torque during the start-up to the nominal when switched on at the highest speed is 1, for other speeds - 0.8.
The main overall, mounting and connecting dimensions are similar to the corresponding dimensions of the base IM.
The engines were produced in accordance with the requirements of TU 16-510.560-75.

A - special version with acceptance by Rosatom
Asynchronous motors for general purpose types A2 and AO2 are designed for continuous operation from a three-phase alternating current network.
The ratings (power, current, voltage, number of revolutions, efficiency) refer to nominal values climatic factors external environment and minimum ambient temperatures: -40°С during operation and -45°С during storage.
Electric motors of all dimensions are manufactured with six output ends. Winding connection scheme - "triangle", "star" and triangle / star at the request of the customer.
The engines have similar designs to the currently produced AIR series in terms of the degree of protection against environmental influences:
- closed version (IP44) (IP54) made of cast iron (АО2) - size 3 to 9;
- closed version (IP44) (IP54) made of aluminum alloys (AOL2) - sizes 1 to 3
The structure of the designation of the electric motor consists of marking the design according to the degree of protection (AO2, AOL2), designating the type of the electric motor (the first digit indicates the ordinal number of the overall size, the second - marking the length of the core), the number of poles, climatic version and placement category.
Example symbol:
AO2-62-4U3 - an electric motor of a closed ventilated version with a frame and shields made of cast iron, size 6, 2nd core length, four-pole (1500 rpm), climatic version U, placement category 3.

To drive woodworking machines, asynchronous electric motors of a new series (closed, ventilated and protective) are used. Electric motors of this series with a cast-iron housing are designated A, and with an aluminum housing - AL. The letter O is added to the designation of closed electric motors, indicating that the electric motor is blown (AO, AOL). After the designation A and AL, three digits characterize the electric motor: the first digit indicates the outer diameter of the stator package, the second is the length of this package in arbitrary units, the third digit indicates the number of poles.
Asynchronous electric motors of a single series are produced for standard voltages of 127/220, 220/380 and 500 V, with the connections of the stator windings, respectively: triangle to star, triangle to star and star.
Instead of electric motors of the A and AO series, since 1961 a new series of electric motors has been produced. It has the best energy performance, as well as smaller overall dimensions and weight. New series electric motors are indicated with the addition of the number 2 (A2, A02, AK.2, etc.). Based on the basic design of electric motors of types A2 and A02, modifications AP2 and AOP2 with increased starting torque are produced; AC2 and AOC2 electric motors with increased slip; AK2 electric motors with a phase rotor; electric motors A2 and A02 are multi-speed.
These electric motors are produced for voltages of 220/380 and 500 V with increased starting torque and a squirrel-cage rotor. Execution closed, blown. Form of execution M-101.
The main technical data of electric motors of the AOP2 series are given in Table. fifteen.
THREE-PHASE ASYNCHRONOUS ELECTRIC MOTORS AOS2 SERIES (GOST 183-66)
These electric motors are available for 220/380, 380 or 500 V with increased slip and a squirrel-cage rotor. Their main technical data are given in table. 16, 17.
