A smart garden without the hassle. Garden without hassle for the elderly Garden and vegetable garden in western siberia

Fruit soda in Siberia is a reality. And not only there: this letter is a godsend for everyone who does not live in the most southern regions, but wants to feed his family with his own, clean and healthy, tasty and fragrant fruits.

And what is your character?

In a good way, I envy summer residents who experiment, carefully think through everything, analyze everything. I can't do it that way. I can't help myself! I belong to the category of gardeners who have an interest in the first place: will it grow with me?

Of course, I plant the most necessary vegetables, but I am always interested in something new. Here I planted a cucumber, Octopus tomatoes, rocambole hair onions, and so on. Some have grown, some have not. Then she fell ill with berry crops.

Of the fruit trees, by this time only a cherry tree was bearing fruit. I don't remember who gave me the frail sapling without a name. I stuck it in the empty space.

Time passed, and I was surprised that a low tree grew out of it and began to bear fruit. From time to time it froze, but continued to grow.

It has been fruiting for several years, I do not particularly care for it. Nothing else was planted from fruit trees. It seemed to me that they needed careful care, and with my character - to do everything anyhow - nothing would work.

But one day a catalog fell into my hands, where varieties for the North were so convincingly described that I just got fired up to plant something like that.

Another trait of my character is that I don’t like to wait, which means I won’t wait for the fruits for a long time, so I chose early-growing varieties. I wrote out dwarf apple trees M.A. Mazunin mundane and Bratchud. They are self-spreading and give a harvest in the second or third year. I decided that under the snow they definitely would not freeze. And here is the best pollinator for apples, as it was written in the catalog, Anis Sverdlovsky. I had to write it out too. Severyanka also prescribed pears and Krasulya, cherries Biryusinka and Ural ruby.

Tender little seedlings arrived at the end of October. I planted them without any wisdom, where there was a place, and covered them with branches from old raspberries. When the snow melted (you won’t get to the site before), I opened the seedlings. After a while they turned green, that was joy! The second winter I did not cover them with anything.

Pear Severyanka died, but not from frost - in the spring the bark was very cracked, but I did not heal.

The most surprising thing is that not only M.A. dwarfs began to bear fruit early. Mazunina (they are quite fast-growing), but also Anis Sverdlovsky, and a pear. When these seedlings overwintered well with me, the next year I bought seedlings of Apricot plums in my city, Bush and an apricot seedling Academician. Bought in the market. They said that the seedlings are from Altai. They overwintered well, but still do not bear fruit. I don't take special care of them. The only problem: in the spring, protect the trunks from cracking the bark.

Therefore, my advice to a lover of experimentation: plant fruit trees in Siberia, in the North. I'm going to plant Khabarovsk cherry and apricot.

So, 6 garden rules for Siberia

  • Have courage and patience.
  • Saplings to acquire frost-resistant, zoned.
  • Do not plant in lowlands and where groundwater is close.
  • It is better to plant not in a hole, but on a mound.
  • Plant at least two different varieties for pollination.
  • When buying seedlings, find out what nursery they are from and the characteristics of the variety.

In our store they sold very good seedlings- with a closed root system, three-year-olds (they will quickly begin to bear fruit), but from the southern nursery.

I looked at the characteristics of these varieties on the Internet and was afraid to buy, because they are not for Siberia. And so I wanted to buy peach seedlings and some other kind of apricot!

Everyone good harvests, and let the work in the country bring you only pleasure. And a proposal to the Siberians: let's decorate our land orchards!

The secret of youth from Tibetan monks

I will share with readers how to prepare the Tibetan elixir of youth.

It cleanses the vessels of the brain and heart, liver, activates metabolic processes.

I take 300 g of peeled garlic and chop (with a wooden pusher and not in an iron bowl). I pour 250 ml of alcohol or 500 ml of vodka. I insist in a dark, warm and dry place for 3-4 weeks.

I drink strictly according to the scheme (see table) before meals, drinking 50 ml of milk (you can use water, but milk is better).

On the 11th day and all subsequent days, I drink 25 drops three times a day before meals, until I drink everything.

The expanses of our country are not limited only to the south and the middle lane; in Siberia, people also try to use plots of land for summer cottages. This takes into account the fact that climatic conditions this area can not withstand all cultivated plants. About what flowers are best grown in the garden and we will tell today in the article.

Influence of climate on plant selection

The harsh winter makes its own adjustments to the choice of interesting perennials, so that most often summer residents are limited only to annuals and lawns. Although it should be recognized that breeders continue their work, offering consumers annually new flowers for a garden in Siberia, previously considered unsuitable for such a climate.

Today it is already possible to grow perennial flowers here, as well as ornamental shrubs. Below you will find out which of them are the most unpretentious and frost-resistant.

Low-growing perennials - excellent garden flowers for Siberia

Perennials are undersized

When cultivating a garden and a garden with your own hands in Siberia, pay attention to the representatives of this group. They are considered the most unpretentious and always appropriate in the landscape.

They are used for:

  • lawn edge trim;
  • foreground in flower beds;
  • creating living borders.

Analyzing the most profitable undersized perennials for the Siberian climate, the list will not be as extensive as we would like.

Snowdrops and primroses
  1. They start blooming early.
  2. They do not tolerate heat well, but in cool and high humidity get along great.
  3. In Siberia, any piece of land can be used for planting primroses, unlike the southern regions, where they are usually planted in the shade so that their roots do not burn out in summer.
  4. If the price of ready-made flowers does not suit you, you can grow primroses yourself from seeds. Plant the crop in containers in early March and set them on a windowsill, or use dividing bushes after they bloom.
lilies of the valley This plant is able to adapt to any climatic conditions. We recommend taking a whole flower garden under the culture, and it will be decorative all season:
  • in May - white bell flowers will appear, which will look good over dark green glossy leaves;
  • by August, they will give way to red berries (be careful, they are poisonous).

During the season, the plant extends the rhizome by 300 mm, so in 2 years it will occupy the entire allotted area. Then you will have to make fences around the edge of the flower garden so that the roots do not spread further. A flower can live up to 40 years in one place.

Pansies (tricolor violet)
  1. The development cycle of the plant is two-year - in the first year the aerial part grows, in June-August of the next summer - flowering.
  2. The culture can be propagated by self-sowing in boxes.
  3. Used for combined flower beds, as before the appearance of flowers appearance violets are fairly nondescript.
  4. In the first year, it is recommended to grow the plant in a bunch, placing it in the far corner of the site, in the second - to transplant it into the main flower garden.
daisies Plants are miniature and very delicate, they belong to the Aster family. You can meet annuals and perennials, to which they are classified due to the similarity of flowering with pansies, after which it is sown by itself.
  1. Use culture in design alpine slides or as blotches on the lawn, creating with its help thin strips of white "brooks" resembling milk. Mowing daisies are not afraid.
  2. It is recommended to control the reproduction process of the plant, otherwise it will run wild and become small. Therefore, it must be periodically transplanted and do not forget to divide very large bushes.

Tip: using in agricultural technology moon calendar gardener for Siberia, you can grow crops using only environmentally friendly methods.

Perennials of the second tier

Usually this undersized plants up to 500 mm high.

Today, two groups are distinguished that are suitable for cultivation in the climate of Siberia:

  • beautifully flowering;
  • decorative foliage.

beautiful flowering plants

Such perennials have bright colors, but they cannot be decorative all summer. Usually, the aerial part after flowering becomes inconspicuous and gradually begins to die off, laying flower buds for the new season.

This is especially true for bulbous and tuberous plants, which protect themselves from overexpenditure of food. But, even a short period of their flowering is so spectacular that everyone who has a dacha garden garden in Siberia tries to get at least a couple of specimens.

Let's find out which ones are best for growing in this climate:

  1. Tulips. It is recommended to purchase varieties of early flowering, for example, terry and simple early. Both varieties begin to bloom in May, but the Siberian climate can shift the period by half a month ahead. Terry grow up to 250 mm, simple early - up to 400 mm.

Tip: so that the bulbs do not shrink, they need to be dug up and dried annually.

  1. Daffodils. It is also called the "child of two times", as it tries to bloom when spring has not yet come, and winter has not yet left.
    Suitable for cultivation in cold climates:
    • does not need annual digging;
    • unpretentious to the soil;
    • does not freeze in winter.

Tip: be sure to tie up new varieties that have very large flowers.
Otherwise, from rain and wind, they can break at the very peak of flowering.

  1. Iris reticulated. The perennial is amazing, as it can freeze clean, but reappear from one surviving kidney. It is less common than the bearded iris, but it is not inferior to it in decorativeness. The leaves of the plant are thin and pointed, high peduncles appear between them by May, where small but numerous flowers appear. Due to the unusually bright color of violet-white, blue-yellow and others, they can be seen from afar.

Tip: although plants can withstand very coldy, you should not plant netted iris in lowlands, as it does not like wet places.

  1. Iris bearded. This group of plants has distinctive beautiful fleshy leaves that do not lose their decorative effect until late autumn, as well as large flowers that “live” from May to June.
    They have proven themselves well in the conditions of Siberia:
    • tolerate frost;
    • beautiful throughout the season;
    • do not require frequent transplants;
    • does not need shelter for the winter.

For a cold climate, the variety "Siberian iris" was specially bred, which has large blue-blue flowers. It can produce flower stalks up to 1 m high, but the bulk of the leaves are located in the region of 500-600 mm.

A garden is a very troublesome business for many summer residents. In order to significantly reduce the main and very hard work on the site, you need to use three principles: do not dig, do not weed, do not water.

Three principles of a smart garden

Why you can not dig, but you need to loosen the soil. Because the earth is a living organism. AT top layer Some microorganisms live, and others below. When digging, they die, and the soil gradually becomes dead, because it is not inhabited by microorganisms. They say: “She is tired, we must give her a rest,” but I wonder how they give the soil such a “rest”? They stop digging and plant it. She continues to give birth. The secret lies in the fact that they stop digging it, and it gradually restores its fertility.

There is a natural fertility of the soil, and digging the soil, we destroy it.

The soil cannot be left open, as its structure is destroyed. In nature, grass covers the soil in summer, a layer of snow in winter, and fallen leaves in autumn.

In order not to weed or water the garden, it is necessary to mulch it. The moisture that is under the mulch does not evaporate from the soil and all goes to the roots of the plants, so there is no need for frequent watering.

Weeds in the garden cannot be weeded, because after weeding, many scraps from the root will remain in the soil and new weeds will appear in the future. They must be shaved using a Fokin flat cutter.

We apply crop rotation

We plant potatoes the first year.

Without digging anything, directly on the weeds, it is laid out on the surface of the earth at a distance of 20-25 cm from each other. Then the potatoes need to be covered with hay. As the sprouts grow, it is necessary to add mowed grass on top, forming a large compost layer. Powerful green tops of potatoes will close the compost heap.

No need to dig, fertilize potatoes, water and hill them, but simply put compost on the plants.

On the next year you can plant zucchini here.

The third year - cabbage and beets.

We continue to plant tomatoes and carrots in the same bed, do not dig it. After 5 years, you will need to make a new compost for warm beds. Your garden will delight with large harvests.

Garden for the lazy - video

Dear friends of my site! I am pleased to share with you the good news: on the Internet, I met a wonderful person, Elena Anatolyevna Selezneva. Why am I happy about this? Because these people need to be talked about. Her beautiful garden with his own hands is worthy of being known to everyone. This woman, together with her beloved husband, created a simple paradise in the garden. And not in a warm climate (as those who live in middle lane), but in Siberia! near Novosibirsk. So the flowers of Siberia are possible! I think it was love and mutual understanding in their family that created this miracle. And the planting of a petunia, or rather a pinch of its tiny seeds, laid the foundation for everything.

Flowers of Siberia, as you can see, it's possible!

In the article, I begin to talk about this family and about this garden, so there is a continuation ahead. In one article it is simply impossible to show all the luxury they have created on small area, and the theme of the flowers of Siberia is worthy of a long continuation. After all, the climate there is far from the best for floriculture, however, if desired, everything is possible! And I believe that this example will be useful, first of all, to Siberians, and even in our latitudes, it will add inspiration to everyone who has not yet dared to create such beauty.

So, before you is the beginning of Elena Anatolyevna's letter and the first photographs:

“Good afternoon, dear Zoya Alexandrovna!
I am so glad to meet you (albeit virtual).
Once again, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kind words, for your recognition, for your support.
A little about myself: my name is Selezneva Elena Anatolyevna, 46 years old, higher technical education (graduated from the Novosibirsk Electrotechnical Institute). Married, for almost 25 years, I live soul to soul with my beloved husband.

We bought the cottage 11 years ago. She was very run down. First of all, my husband and I demolished all the greenhouses left over from the previous owners. And they just sowed the entire area with a lawn.

Initially, we bought a dacha exclusively for recreation (barbecue, swimming pool). Flowers did not smell. I fell in love with flowers 4 years ago. By chance. I decided to plant a petunia. For the first time in my life I sowed some flowers. Planting a petunia was 100% successful for me right away. No black legs, every single hair took root, successfully peaked and bloomed gorgeously.

Further more. The flowers took over my head. I started buying other types of flowers. Moreover, not only annuals, but also perennials, and indoor. They all listen to me without question. Perhaps this is some kind of gift from God .... Don't know. I can't explain how I do it all. There was not a single case that something did not rise, did not grow.

To say that I love flowers is an understatement. I love them. I talk to them, sing songs to them. Fumbling with flowers, digging in the ground, ready around the clock. I order a lot of planting material from online stores. Everything grows and blooms. There were even a couple of cases when the cuttings came in very bad condition, just in a terrible, almost unviable condition (brugmansia, fragrant geranium). I wrote claims, photographed. I got my money back for a defective one. planting material. And my cuttings ... after all, survived!

Isn't it wonderful? When a friend asked me: “Well, why do I try so hard to follow all the rules, but my flowers do not grow well in my apartment, and you are always busy, you take little care of them, and you have them in lush greenery?”, I answered her: “ Because I love them very much." I, like Elena Anatolyevna, talk with my flowers, I ask their forgiveness if I didn’t do something on time. I enjoy them when I look at them. Believe it or not, I believe that plants are alive, in some way, intelligent, I don't know how to explain it. They understand our feelings for plants, and in general, for everyone and everything. Love Nature, she will thank you!
