We make a washbasin for a summer residence with our own hands. Sink for a summer residence (39 photos): options

In this article, we will tell you how to make a washbasin for a summer residence with your own hands, consider various options, and also show photo and video instructions for creating an outdoor washbasin.

The washbasin must be:

  • simple;
  • multifunctional (so that you can not only wash your hands);
  • convenient.

If your country house does not yet have a washbasin, then please read this article carefully. In fact, there are more than enough ways to make a homemade washstand.

From a plastic bottle

The simplest, budget option. It can be a 1.5 liter bottle or a 5 liter eggplant. First you need to cut the bottom. Then, using a clamp or aluminum wire, fix it on some vertical plane. The role of the dispenser in this case will be played by the lid itself. We draw some water into the container, and it will flow in a thin stream when we slightly open the lid. It turned out to be the simplest - and nowhere simpler - a hinged washbasin. That's all the wisdom of this washstand.

with faucet

This stationary structure is more complex, so for its manufacture you will need to have at least basic knowledge in plumbing. It will be good if your household happens to have a small 6-liter wide-mouthed plastic (soft plastic) can or any other suitable container. This time we will have to spend money on the purchase of accessories for the future washbasin. You will need:

  • drive;
  • tap for water supply;
  • two rubber gaskets;
  • two nuts;
  • two pucks.

The work does not require professional skills. It's simple: a hole is drilled in the bottom of the can for the diameter of the run (the lower the better). We insert the drive itself into the hole with the side where there are more threads, we put the washers on both sides, and then the gaskets and clamp them with nuts on both sides too. After that, we wind the faucet, after winding the linen winding, smeared with a special impregnation, and that’s it, the washbasin is ready.

It remains only to choose a suitable cabinet for it or a rack pre-bonded from four wooden bars. Having fixed the can on such a structure, we fill it with water. And now you have a more civilized option for a larger amount of liquid in the country washbasin and, moreover, with a faucet for water supply.

In this simple version of the washstand, you can do without the drive. For example, take a 10-liter galvanized bucket. We will need:

  • two rubber gaskets;
  • screw;
  • tap brass water folding tsapkovy;
  • drill attachment.

The work is simple: in the lower part of the bucket, using a nozzle, we drill a diameter for a brass faucet. We put a gasket on it and insert it into the finished hole. On the other hand, we also insert the gasket and clamp it with a nut. The top of the washbasin is ready.

It would be useful to say that the outdoor washbasin must be equipped with a drain. This can be an ordinary container where used water is collected or a finished sink, with a corrugated tube inserted into the drain (from three meters). With the help of such a tube, water can simply be drained into the garden and soaked into the ground. Some people do not equip drains at all, and water flows directly to the ground. And so that dirty slurry does not form under your feet, (two buckets are enough). As they say, cheap and cheerful.

For premises

If we are talking about homemade washstands on the street, then it is definitely worth mentioning the washstands in the room. The internal washstand is much more complex in design than its outdoor counterparts. It is clear that here you need to take care not only of its functionality, but also of beauty. In other words, it should harmoniously fit into the general surroundings of a country simple life. Most likely, this will be the most common type of internal washbasins - “moidodyr”. How to make this washstand out of wood? We will need boards 25 × 150 mm.

In vertical blanks, recesses must be cut in advance (depth 20 mm, width 8 mm). This can be done with a manual router. In horizontal blanks, spikes are cut accordingly using a conventional hacksaw.

The hacksaw should be sharp enough and with fine teeth. Canvas length: 25–30 cm.

The size of the future washbasin is largely determined by the dimensions of the water tank that we plan to use for it. It is also important for us to know for sure the dimensions of the sink, which we will mount on the cabinet. After everything is cut to size and technological recesses are cut along with spikes, the washbasin is assembled like a designer. However, it would be better to fix the joints with wood screws.

The upper (or side) part of the structure has a niche where we should insert the finished water tank.

For such a washbasin, a 20-liter galvanized tank is better suited (width: 490 mm, height: 360 mm, thickness: 140 mm)

We strengthen the bottom of the washstand with slats (20 × 45 mm) at the same distance from each other. We close the back wall of the upper part of the "moidodyr" with plywood - from 3 mm and fix it with self-tapping screws. Of course, it is better to use moisture-resistant plywood for such a thing in case the water tank leaks, but if there is none, it’s not scary.

As for the cabinet door, everything is simple here: we glue a square of 3 mm plywood with PVA glue to the frame of four interconnected small wooden planks on its back side. It remains to embed a lock with a figured handle. Everything, the wooden frame of the “moidodyr” is assembled. Now the final touch is grinding, painting the product, and then installing the sink. It will turn out very cute.

There are a lot of options for washbasins and they are all good in their own right. The question is which design you prefer. Much, of course, depends on the functions that you assign to it. One way or another, a washstand / washbasin is convenient in every way. And if it's in the country, even more so. Therefore, we hope that this article was useful for you.

» From the master class presented by the author, you will learn how you can make a sink and drain in the country on your own. When your site has a convenient table with a built-in sink, it is very convenient, because you can quickly and without problems wash vegetables, fruits, berries, herbs directly from the garden, and cut them right there on the table.

The design here is quite simple, you will need to assemble a table with a height of 90 cm, a tabletop width of 60 cm and a length of 120 cm, the author gave his own dimensions, but in each case there may be nuances and you need to do it for yourself and your height.

The table itself can be assembled from a board and a bar, and the same boards can be used as a countertop (for example, from a pallet). You also need an old sink and a faucet. And so, let's look at the whole process of assembling the table and installing the sink, what specifically did the author need?

materials
1. sink
2. water hose
3.board 25-30mm
4. timber
5. faucet
6. faucet
7. PVC sewer pipe
8. gravel
9. self-tapping screws
10. silicone sealant
11. nails

Instruments
1. jigsaw
2. drill
3. screwdriver
4. screwdriver
5. hacksaw
6. hammer
7. pliers
8. tape measure
9. pencil
10. corner

The process of creating a sink and drain in the country with your own hands.

By installing a table with a sink in the country, you will make your life a little easier. First of all, it will be necessary to assemble the table itself, for which the author used a 25-30 mm board and timber. The master also provided a drawing with a detailed description and dimensions. In each individual case, select the size according to your preferences, so that it is convenient for you to operate the sink and the table itself.
Further, table legs are made according to the given dimensions, namely, 2 boards are taken and sewn together with self-tapping screws in the form of such a corner.

You need to make 4 identical legs.

In the lower part, small saw cuts of timber are screwed.

Crossbars are mounted on the obtained supports, thereby fastening the legs of the future table.

The longitudinal bars are also attached at the bottom.

And at the top, respectively.

For better reliability of the entire structure, it is necessary to fix a few more bars in this position.

After that, a countertop is installed, which can be made from the same board.

Next, in the countertop, you need to cut a hole for installing the sink. On the plane of the table, you need to mark the shape of the back of the sink, then drill a hole with a drill, so that you can then insert a jigsaw blade and cut out the outlined outline.

Then the sink is installed, first a layer of silicone sealant should be applied to the skirt of the sink, so that later, during operation, water does not accumulate at the junction of the sink and the table.

Then the crane is installed.

And connects to the water supply through a hose.

Here is such a wonderful countertop with a sink turned out.

Now the most important thing is "draining" so that the water from the sink safely leaves and does not pollute the site, it is necessary to make a drainage hole. And so, you need to dig a hole 1-1.5 m and dig in, for example, a barrel with holes made in the walls, or you can use a large-diameter sewer pipe, also with holes, install it in a hole and fill it with gravel. The sample is shown in (photo).

Such an accessory as an outdoor country washbasin is an indispensable attribute of any country estate. And if you are thinking about installing such a device, then there are two options - to purchase a finished product on the market, or to make a washstand yourself.

With any decision, you will expect certain difficulties and nuances. In this article, we will figure out how to make a washbasin in the country with our own hands as economically as possible, and also consider more expensive solutions.

Let's start the review by comparing the pros and cons of a handicraft appliance and a store one.

Which is better - buy or make a washbasin yourself

Let's take a look at the comparison table below.

Washbasin type: Peculiarities:
  1. Finished factory product.
Here, of course, the main advantage is the beautiful, neat appearance of the device. In addition, most often such washbasins have a good capacity in terms of water volume. It is worth noting that in the store you can buy products with a water heater that runs on electricity. As for the shortcomings, this is, perhaps, only the relatively high cost of finished products.
  1. Homemade design.
Such a washbasin can look different - it all depends on the skills of the master. But in general, if desired and diligently, you can make a very functional and pretty device. At the same time, the price of the project will be very low, and often it will not be necessary to spend money at all.

It turns out that the first option is good because you do not need to spend time on installation, but you will have to invest in the purchase. Well, the second method is suitable for those who do not mind working with their own hands.

As for finished products, there is a choice of such washbasins for sale:

  1. Wall containers. As a rule, they are made of plastic or stainless steel and represent a tank with a water carrier. When you press this water tank with your hand, water begins to flow out of the tank.

  1. Product with cabinet. The kit usually includes a cabinet, a tank, a sink. In principle, a good "capital".

Tip: when choosing a design with a cabinet, make sure that the doors and walls are made of a material that relatively well tolerates moisture and temperature changes.
After all, the device, most likely, will be located on the street and, you see, it will be unpleasant if it does not last even a season.

  1. Tank with built-in water heater. A very convenient thing, however, heating elements require the presence of electricity in the country, and current is not available everywhere. For example, in settlements where country houses from block containers are installed and in garden partnerships, there are often problems with the supply of energy.

Well, if we talk about the “economy” options of the finished type, then there are also relatively primitive devices on sale - like buckets with a faucet or ordinary converted canisters.

We figured out the ready-made solutions, now let's get acquainted with the methods of self-assembly of such structures.

How do-it-yourself wash basins are made

It is worth noting that as illustrative examples, we will take the most popular and affordable assembly options for everyone. That is, those washstands that are made from "improvised" materials and do not require any expensive special tools.

Let's start with the easiest and cheapest way.

Plastic bottle fixtures

You can do the work from ordinary two-liter bottles, or you can take large five-liter containers.

The installation instructions in the first case should be as follows:

  1. Tie the bottle upside down to a tree, post, or any upright that you have in your yard.
  2. We remove the cap and cut through the side, as if on the wall of the cork, a small triangular hole. Screw the lid back on.
  3. We cut off the bottom of the eggplant - we will pour water into the resulting hole.

It turns out that if the lid is slightly unscrewed, then water will pour out of the hole cut on the side. And when twisting, this hole, as it were, “enters” the thread of the bottle neck and thereby the channel for the passage of liquid is blocked.

Note!
This method of arranging a washstand implies a very careful use of the system.
Specifically, the lid needs to be turned just a little bit - otherwise, due to the low thread, it will simply simply fall to the ground.

By the way, if you wrap the bottle with wire with rings, you get mounts into which you can insert toothbrushes and toothpaste, for example.

Now let's look at how to make a wash basin in the country from a large plastic bottle with a volume of 5 or 7 liters. This is where things get a little more complicated.

The difficulty lies in the fact that a hole in the lid cannot be dispensed with - the height of the neck is too small. Yes, and the weight of water is greater than in a two-liter bottle.

Here you should do it a little differently than in the previous case:

  1. We tie the eggplant to a tree or post with the neck down.

  1. We cut off almost completely the bottom - you need to leave literally a centimeter of plastic. This is necessary so that the bottom can be tilted and closed. When the “lid” is closed, fewer foreign particles will enter the water.
  2. We unscrew the lid, take a nail with a wide hat and punch a hole in the cork with it.
  3. After that, we drag the nail into the hole so that when the cork is twisted, the tip seems to hang at the very bottom of the structure.
  4. On the tip we prick the most ordinary gum or wine cork (it is needed so as not to get hurt).

Thus, we got a kind of valve - by pressing on the tip, the nail head will move away from the plane of the cork and thereby open access for the passage of water.

Tip: try gluing the most common sanitary rubber gasket to the inner surface of the hat.
Due to such a seal between the cork plane and the valve cap, less water will flow out of the bottle at a time when you will not use the structure.

Such is the instruction. Now let's try to assemble a more capital and beautiful washstand.

Washbasin with cabinet

The easiest option is to make everything from an ordinary old kitchen table.

Here we act in approximately the following sequence:

  1. We take the table and sew it up on both sides with any available panels, plywood or boards.
  2. We sheathe the back "wall" with more or less durable boards. This "span" must be made as strong as possible, since it is to the back wall that the rack with the suspended washbasin will be attached.

  1. The front span is either left completely open, or we mount doors in it. This part is not sewn up, because otherwise it will not be possible to install a drain bucket under the sink.
  2. Next, we take the sink, calculate its dimensions and use a jigsaw to cut a hole in the countertop.

Tip: this work can be done very quickly - using a jigsaw. If there is still no electricity on your site, then pay attention to such a service as renting a diesel generator for a summer residence. Both a jigsaw and a drill can be connected to this device.

  1. We insert the sink into the completed niche.

  1. We take a strong board about 1.6 - 1.7 meters high and fasten it vertically to the back wall of the table. This will be the stand to which the water tank is attached.

As for itself, then you can use a large plastic eggplant, or you can use a metal bucket.

In both cases, the same nail can be used to make the drain valve. Well, if the budget and time allows, then a full-fledged faucet with a valve can be screwed to a metal bucket.

If there is no old table, then the cabinet can be made independently - according to the principle of the table arrangement. For the legs, a wooden beam 50 by 50 millimeters will fit, and a board or, for example, a door from an old cabinet can be used as a tabletop.

At the dacha, civilized elements of everyday life are not always present. But you can adapt to everything. And when the question arises of how to make a washbasin in the country with your own hands, you can always find original solutions.

The washbasin can be made using materials such as wood, metal and scrap materials such as plastic bottles, canisters.

Capacity selection

If the idea came to build a washbasin with a pedestal for giving, this does not mean that literally all the details need to be made from improvised materials. You can, for example, find a plastic bottle of 5 or 10 liters and make a water container from it. But there is little hope that it will be reliable and look beautiful. It is better to purchase a washstand with a tap specially made for such cases, as it is cheap and looks aesthetically pleasing. The capacity of the water tank in this case should be selected up to 20 liters. Relying on less water is not a practical approach.

Of considerable importance is the material from which the container is made. To date, it is most relevant to make a washbasin for a summer residence from stainless metal or plastic. You can choose any, but here you need to look from a practical point of view.

When choosing between plastic and stainless steel, you need to consider that the latter option is more practical, as it is more reliable. Many things have the property of falling. If a water-filled plastic plumbing fixture is accidentally dropped, there is a high chance that it will shatter and fall apart. A small crack is enough for the washbasin to become unusable. A stainless steel washstand is more preferable in this regard. It is more resistant to drops and bumps.

You also need to pay attention to the shape of the sink. At first glance, there is no significant difference, but if you look from a practical point of view, the opinion will change. The fact is that washbasins with different shapes will have different flow rates from the tap. If the container has a large width and a small height, then water will flow out of the faucet under a small pressure. If the capacity is high, then the water will flow out faster and you can wash yourself faster. And one more factor - the bottom of the container should not be flat, but slightly curved towards the faucet.

Nowadays, washbasins are often made in which a valve cock is attached to the front wall of the container, moreover, it is not located at the very bottom. It is not surprising that water runs too slowly at such a tap, if we take for comparison a small-capacity washstand with a pressure tap. The pressure in the first version is lost through the narrowed opening of the valve and the high installation site of the drain part - the valve is not installed at the bottom point, but on the front wall. Therefore, in order for the required amount of water to flow out for washing, it is necessary to give preference to models in which the faucet is located, if possible, at the bottom of the tank. Otherwise, you will have to come to terms with the fact that there is still water in the washbasin, and nothing is flowing from the tap - you will have to add water, since there will be dead space in the tank.

Water heating

In retail outlets, a washbasin with a water heater is offered quite inexpensively. It pays for itself, as a temperature controller is mounted in the heating device. Thanks to him, water can be heated up to 30 and up to 70ºС.

It should be borne in mind that the heating element gives maximum return if it is installed at the bottom of the tank - up to 50 mm to the bottom surface. Attaching a heating element in the upper part of the tank, heating the water loses its meaning.

If you install a heating element in a container, some difficulty arises. Holes will have to be made in the bottom of the washbasin body so that the heating element can be inserted. After installing the device through the insert, it will be very difficult to close the gaps back. Therefore, there is another way out. The heating coil can be inserted into the wash-hand basin through the lid. This will allow you to avoid making lower side holes through which water would seep if the seal is poor.

If you make a washbasin for a summer residence on your own, then a cabinet will be needed in its design. Before making it, you need to build a frame, which then needs to be sewn up. An old sink, which was produced decades ago and was placed in the kitchen, is best suited for such cabinets. Under it, the owners often made cabinets in which they hid the trash can. And in this case, such a design is better suited, because under such a sink you can fit a cabinet with a door well. To such a design with a sink, it remains only to attach a board to which a container of water will be attached.

If the necessary sink with a pedestal is not available, then the latter will need to be made on its own. First, a frame is made for it from wooden planks with a cross section of 5 × 5 cm or from a corner of 2.5 × 2.5 cm.

  • The most optimal height of the sides of the washbasin, at which it is convenient to use a plumbing fixture, is no more than 1 m.
  • 4 legs 1 m long are cut from bars or corners.
  • The sink or sink, which will lie on the cabinet, is measured from all sides. Dimensions must be taken in those places that will be in contact with the upper trim of the frame.
  • After that, 8 fragments are cut off according to the measurements taken. As a rule, 0.5 m is enough.
  • Then the frame elements are connected using the appropriate tools into a single structure.

Since the working support of the appliance will be the inner edges of the structural elements, it is necessary to mark them along them so that the washbasin fits easily into the frame. If it is metal, the surface of the elements must be painted so that they do not rust over time.

Manufacturing cabinets and countertops

There are many materials with which you can sheathe the design of the cabinet. The main thing is that the chosen material is practical and durable. For example, if the washbasin is located outside, the plywood sheathing does not fit well, as it will soak and deteriorate during rain. If you leave this material, you will have to make a hinged washstand for giving. All sides except the front are sewn up. Put the door on the hinges in front. The floor in the middle of the cabinet is best made of boards, the gap between which should be approximately 1 cm. In this case, it is possible that spilled water through the cracks will be able to get into the ground.

In addition to the cabinet, you can build a countertop on which you can place and dry the dishes after washing.

  • Attaches a countertop to the sides of the cabinet, which would also serve as a dryer.
  • To do this, you need to prepare wooden planks with a cross section of 2.5 × 1.5 cm.
  • They need to be hammered together so that slots are formed in the structure with a distance of up to 2 cm.
  • At a height of 40 cm above the ground, you can make a second tier if the number of dishes for washing is planned to be large.

The sink for a country washbasin can be made of different materials and with different service life. The main thing is that it should be marketable. The drain of water from the device can be carried out in different ways:

  • put a bucket at the bottom of the cabinet and drain drains from time to time;
  • organize a civilized discharge of wastewater into a ditch or sewer network;
  • drain water directly to the ground. In the place of the drain, in order not to make a swamp, you need to make a small mound of rubble.

The most practical drain option is to use a bucket. In this case, you do not need to be afraid to clog the outlet with various fragments after washing, for example, vegetables and fruits. After filling the bucket, the contents can be poured into the compost pit. The photo shows options for washbasins made for summer cottages.

We invite you to see what country washbasins can be.

If you don’t want to mess with the washbasin for a long time, you can make it from a plastic bottle.

Not everyone has a running water in their summer cottage, although the need to use water constantly arises: a huge number of times we rinse our hands after digging in the garden or working in the garden, washing dirty vegetables and herbs from the beds, fruits from trees, berries from bushes, and also dishes. All these actions will become much easier to implement if we have a washbasin in the country. Inside the country house, due to the lack of running water in it, it will not be possible to install a sink. This can be done in the garden or next to the gazebo where lunchtime meals usually take place.

What can be a country sink? Is it difficult to build a full-fledged washbasin for a summer residence with your own hands? What ready-made solutions can be found on sale? Let's figure it out.

The specifics of the suburban area

To begin with, let's formulate the differences between a summer cottage and an ordinary residential building in the plan that interests us.

How should the sink in the country differ from the usual kitchen sink?

  1. For summer cottages, the absence of a permanent water supply is typical.. The source of water may be a well; in addition, water for irrigation is often supplied on schedule. If your country house does not provide a storage tank for water, raised to an elevation to create pressure, then it is advisable to provide such a tank above the sink.

To clarify: if you want to provide the maximum comfort available in nature, it would be nice to take care of heating the water.

  1. Local sewerage at their summer cottage is also the exception rather than the rule.. As a rule, a cabinet for a summer cottage sink is equipped with a shelf on which an ordinary bucket is placed to collect wastewater. After washing or washing dishes, soapy water simply splashes away from the beds.

From these positions, we have to explore market proposals.

Ready solutions

So, what can shops focused on summer residents offer us?

For installation inside the house

These solutions are distinguished by the fact that a certain attention is paid to their appearance. In fact, even in a country house you want to see beautiful household items. A typical cabinet material is LDSP (laminated chipboard); sink can be enameled or made of stainless steel.

Above the sink, on the back wall of the cabinet, there is a storage tank for water. As shutoff valves, a conventional tap or a simple mechanism with a plug is used, which allows water to pass through when lightly pressed from the bottom up. Tank material - plastic (as a rule, polypropylene or polyethylene is used), galvanized steel or stainless steel.

A bucket for drains is usually installed inside the cabinet; however, nothing prevents using this space for storing dishes and other kitchen utensils, and implementing water drainage with a thin sewer or corrugated pipe. To filter it, a shallow drainage pit is dug into the ground, covered with rubble, or a ditch.

Captain Evidence suggests: on a site with a slope, it is better to discharge sewage below the house along the slope.
We are in no way interested in undermining the foundation.

Let's analyze the product description of this class in more detail.

A sink with a curbstone for giving with the creative name Leader 10525 will serve as a sample for us.

  • Cabinet material - chipboard. Several color versions are possible.
  • The sink is made of stainless steel. The water tank is made of polypropylene.
  • Tank capacity - 22 liters.
  • The tank is equipped with a heating element with a nominal power of 1.25 kW. Heating 22 liters of water to a maximum temperature of 60C takes about half an hour. The exact time depends on the initial temperature.
  • The overall dimensions of the product are 1330x500x500 millimeters.
  • Retail price - 3850 rubles.

For outdoor installation

Outdoor installation implies slightly different requirements for the product. First of all - to the materials used for its manufacture.

In addition, aesthetics recede into the background. In fact, a shell that is too beautiful will most likely change hands the first time you leave your dacha.

Let's flesh out the differences.

Wood in all forms, and especially laminated chipboard, are extremely hygroscopic materials. A curbstone made of solid wood or plywood will quickly dry out under the rain and sun, chipboard will swell and crumble into dust in one summer.

As a rule, a metal cabinet is used for the street - a bare frame or load-bearing walls made of steel with an anti-corrosion coating. Somewhat less often, the sink stand is made of rigid plastic tubes.

The sink is plastic or (somewhat less often) enamelled. Plastic gets dirty easily, but it is extremely cheap and does not corrode.

A typical product of this class, which will serve as a model for us, is the “Street” washbasin with a “Comfort” water heater.

Washbasin “Street”.

  • All parts, except for the heating element, are made of plastic.
  • Stand - tubular, collapsible. The side arches are separated from the frame for the tank and the spacers between them. When disassembled, the design fits easily into the trunk of a car.
  • The volume of the tank is 18 liters. This is quite enough for washing a moderate amount of dishes or washing three or four people.
  • Heater power - 1.25 kW. Actually, high electrical power is rarely in demand in country electrical equipment: typical wiring in garden partnerships is aluminum with a cross section of 1.5 millimeters. It is clear that its overload does not promise the owner anything good.
  • The size of the shell is 350x400 millimeters.
  • The cost of the product is more than modest - 1650 rubles.

Related products

A ready-made cabinet with a sink for a summer residence is not the only solution that can be found in the respective stores.

A plastic, aluminum or steel washstand provides a minimum of comfort, but allows you to do without outside help when washing your hands. Think about how many times a day you have to ask a family member to pour water on your hands.

An advanced version of the washstand - a large plastic tank with heated water - allows you to wash dishes and wash your face with relative comfort. The ability to heat water is especially valuable in cold weather.

The controls are placed on the front panel; Ceramic crane box in the tap ensures its long-term operation and prevents water leakage. The water heater is equipped with a thermostat and an alarm relay that turns it off in case of overheating (for example, when the tank is empty in heating mode).

The faucet is designed to be installed on a plastic or metal container. Its presence can turn a can or canister into a fairly convenient washstand.

Another simple device that provides a minimum of comfort at a minimum cost and extremely simple installation. The polypropylene tank with a volume of 7 liters is hung on the wall using the metal brackets included in the kit. The cost of a washstand is only 230 rubles.

The sink, made of polypropylene, can be mounted on brackets or cabinets. The product is one-piece and equipped with a grate at the outlet. Overall dimensions of the sink - 40x50x18 centimeters, capacity - 21 liters; the outlet is threaded for attaching a siphon or corrugated pipe.

And in this case, the main advantage of the sink is its minimum cost: it will cost the owner 150 rubles.

Self-manufacturing

The sink itself in the country house is, of course, not made by hand: we just have to combine several products from the “related products” section with the materials that you have at your disposal.

Is it worth spending time on this if a ready-to-use cabinet with a sink and a bulk water heater can be purchased for about 2,000 rubles?

In general, probably not worth it; however, we will give a number of circumstances that can push the owner of the cottage to the creative process.

  • Old furniture often ends up in a country house. If you already have a kitchen cabinet - is it worth buying a design that includes exactly the same cabinet?
  • Country buildings are rarely distinguished by a large area. Lack of space or layout features can push for non-standard placement of the sink with the corresponding requirements for its size and method of attachment.

So, how to make a sink in the country? Of course, this is not about the most primitive design of a washstand and a trough: it seems that the reader does not need advice to build this masterpiece of engineering thought. Let's try to build something for which you will not be ashamed in front of the guests.

Washing

From the point of view of combining beauty and practicality, the best material is stainless steel. Since the jet from the tank will not hit the sink with high pressure, the thickness of the steel and various stickers on its outer surface that dampen the sound can not be fixed: we need the most inexpensive sink of those dimensions that will allow you to comfortably wash the dishes.

The size is selected depending on the space that you have. As a rule, sinks have dimensions of 50x50 or 50x60 centimeters.

Please note: the greater the depth of the bowl, the less splashes will fall on the surrounding objects.
In addition, it is better to take a sink with a cork: in conditions of shortage of hot water, the ability to draw it into the sink when washing dishes is very convenient.

Cabinet

Its width and depth are tied to the size of the sink. The optimal height of the edge of the shell for a person of average height is 85 - 90 centimeters. If you plan to mount a water tank on the back wall, it should be made about 130 - 140 cm high.

What material to prefer? If you don't have welding at your disposal, the obvious choice is woodworking products.

Several options are possible:

  • Plywood with a thickness of 12-15 millimeters combines sufficient strength with a beautiful surface texture. It will look quite presentable with a varnish coating.
  • Thin OSB can be sheathed with a bar frame. And this material looks good and very unusual under a layer of varnish.
  • Finally, a bar frame can be sheathed with wooden clapboard or a grooved floor board.

In all cases, the cabinet will need reliable protection from water: wood is an extremely hygroscopic material. The most resistant to adverse environmental influences is polyurethane-based yacht varnish; not much inferior to him parquet polyurethane varnish, intended for indoor use. In extreme cases, PF-170 or NTs will also fit.

If the material has noticeable surface defects, it is better to prefer paint to varnish. Alkyd enamels PF-115 are suitable for our purposes; in addition, the author had exceptionally pleasant impressions of the water-dispersion rubber paint based on acrylic resins. All irregularities are pre-spackled.

The number of layers of varnish or paint is from 4 to 6. Before applying the first layer, the assembled cabinet is polished; sanding with zero paper is also required after applying the first layer. The fact is that varnish or paint causes the pile, thin fibers of wood to rise, and its surface becomes rough.

bulk tank

It is attached in such a way that the faucet is about 15 centimeters higher than the edge of the sink. When washing dishes, a ball or screw tap is more convenient; keyboard, however, is noticeably more economical.

Waste disposal

A great alternative to a bucket under the sink is a drainage pit. She digs at a distance of at least a meter from the foundation of the house; it is desirable that its volume be at least twice the volume of the water tank.

The tube from the sink is led into the pit below the ground level; if it is supposed to use water in winter, then both the pipe and the pit are buried as deep as possible. The pipe is additionally insulated with a polyethylene foam sheath.

In order for the absorption surface to be maximum, and the walls not to crumble, the pit is filled with drainage - crushed stone, stones from the site, brick battle, etc. If necessary, in winter operation, the drainage is insulated from above with a foam sheet.
