Children's crafts from bottles

A lot of interesting crafts for the home, garden and vegetable garden can be found in our articles.

To make a giraffe, we need:
* Wire.
* Corrugation.
* Metal-plastic tube.
* Mounting foam.
* Acrylic enamel.
* Acrylic lacquer.

How to make a foam giraffe:
First, we will make a frame for a giraffe. Elena's giraffe is 2 m 15 cm high, the figure is quite large and therefore it is additionally necessary to strengthen the torso and legs with a metal rod. We connect plastic bottles together, instead of a neck we use a metal rod, we make legs. We insert the rod into the corrugation, and then into plastic bottles (we form the body). We make cuts in the bottles and connect the rods inside with wire so that the figure is more stable. Then we form the neck in the same way from corrugations and wire. We make the length of the neck according to your desire, as you intended.

Then, when the frame is ready for us, we increase the required volume of the entire figure with mounting foam, except for the head ... In order to save on foam, the volume can be increased with improvised materials. It can be anything: newspapers, bags, polyethylene, etc. True, Elena did not do this on this figure. Therefore, it took 4 cylinders to make a foam giraffe. Well, we all learn from our mistakes. Elena tried different foams, but she liked the Titan foam best of all, it can stay in the gun for a long time and not dry. That is, you can work more slowly and more efficiently.

We make the head of the giraffe separately. The basis is also an irreplaceable small plastic bottle. We also cut out the ears from the bottle, first we foam them to the desired volume, and only then we foam them to the head. The giraffe's eyes are large, so buttons won't fit. Elena found a rubber ball at home (she bought it from a vending machine for her granddaughter). I cut it in half and it turned out just right. I drew eyes on the balloon, covered them with nail polish several times.

We bring the head to the desired size, and then connect it to the corrugation of the neck.

We bring the neck to mind, we increase the required volume along the frame. Then when the figure dries, we cut off everything superfluous from it. The last layer of foam is leveling (apply in small drops, twisting the gun as much as possible.) We twist the foam hole harder and begin to fill the dimples, pressing down a little with the gun. When the drops are small, the foam does not increase much. And, of course, with wet hands, when the foam grabs, do not press down, but smooth the figure.

When the giraffe dries well, proceed to painting. We paint it with acrylic enamel. We cover with acrylic varnish for outdoor use. That's it, the giraffe from polyurethane foam and bottles is ready. We love the work we have done.

Elena also uses acrylate-based scuba lacquer for indoor and outdoor use, colorless. In appearance, it is white, when it dries it becomes transparent, it does not give yellowness. It is not indicated on the bank, but it looks like a semi-gloss. The price is not expensive. Colors also take the usual ones in small plastic bottles, they are perfectly bred with acrylic, as with any other paint. I used to use colored acrylic paints from art stores, but for foam figures it turns out to be a big expense, expensive. Also an important point: when making figures from foam, you do not need to putty them, practice has shown that over time the figures begin to crack. Do not look that the figure turns out to be rough, it is smooth to the touch and neither dust nor dirt lingers on it.

Giraffe from polyurethane foam and bottles

We will also consider with you another master class on making a giraffe, the author is Nadezhda Vilesova. Nadezhda told us a little about how to make this craft and shared the manufacturing process with us.
We create a frame from improvised materials, for the manufacture of a giraffe, 2 five-liter canisters were used for the frame. Then we insert four plastic tubes into the canisters, in the place where we will have legs. We fix everything with adhesive tape, and then apply the desired volume with the help of mounting foam.

When everything dries well, we create a form, and then mix the cement with gypsum 2: 4. Gypsum put a smaller part. Mix well and start sculpting very quickly, as the gypsum quickly hardens.

We are waiting for it to dry well and then paint the beautiful finished giraffe. Again, we are waiting for it to dry and paint with varnish.

Also, according to this MK, you can make such a funny donkey from polyurethane foam.

How many interesting and exciting things can be done from polyurethane foam and plastic bottles. Plastic bottles are an affordable and free material that can be found everywhere. You can make various crafts from it, and it is also very convenient for making the shape of frames for crafts. You can also make interesting crafts from polyurethane foam, and it is also very convenient. And if suddenly the figure accidentally breaks, you can foam it, paint it and it will be like new with us again
Today I want to show you two interesting master classes on making foam giraffe. Both giraffes turned out very beautiful and interesting. The first giraffe is more like a real one, and the second giraffe is more suitable for a fairy-tale character. Despite the fact that both giraffes are different, they turned out to be unique in their own way. The first master class on making a giraffe will be Elena Sadovskaya. At first glance, plastic bottles are a bunch of garbage. But in skillful hands, they turn into beautiful flowers, funny animals and other art objects.

To make a cat, we need to make blanks for the body: 13 bottoms from 2-liter plastic bottles. To create a cat, I needed 5 narrower bottoms for the breast and 8 wider ones for the back of the body. Let me explain, all 13 bottoms are from 2-liter bottles .. Only each brand of beer has different bottle shapes. The difference is in millimeters, but noticeable. But you can use all of the same type of bottles. Cut out, burn the edges with a candle or lighter. And in the middle we make holes for the wire.

Let's make a blank for the head and ears. We cut the ears with scissors from the ribs of the bottom.

To fix the tail, in the 13th blank we make a wider hole. We insert the hose from the washing machine and fix it with glue.

We connect 2 bottoms and the finished head.

For the legs we use the necks of plastic bottles. Tail preparation.

Cut a strip from a plastic bottle and cut a fringe.

We start assembling the body. We take a longer wire, calculating the length of the body and tail.

I made a mistake, I took a shorter wire. Here is the result, I had to use a wine cork to lengthen the tail. A cork stopper to connect the tail.

After the first 2 blanks of the body, which we fix with a glue gun, we wind the wire for the paws. And on the penultimate element we wind the wire for the hind legs.

The 13th, final element, with the future tail, is assembled in the opposite position.

We fix the head with glue. For stability, the head and body are connected with wire. Collecting legs. We have two blanks with their necks up, and the third with their neck down.

Blanks for the tail, connect to the hose, fix with glue.

We decorate the breast and neck with beads and flowers. And here is the result!

Materials and tools for work:

2 plastic canisters, polyurethane foam, tile adhesive, PVA glue, toothpicks, scissors, paint, stationery folded knife, toilet paper, medical bandage.

We connect 2 plastic canisters with mounting foam. The body is ready.

The role of the nose frame will be performed by the wire.

We shape the figure with the help of polyurethane foam.

We ennoble. We cut off the excess. And do not forget for the hedgehog - the traveler to make a knot on a stick.

We cover with an adhesive solution (tile glue and PVA glue). Wrap the top with a bandage. And we process 2 times with a solution of glue.
