They take about 50 to 50, someone wants a planer with a 102 mm knife in order to process the board faster. And who needs it just for home - the cheapest model E313 is perfect - since the power of 750 watts is enough to plan the boards. And the blade width of 82 mm is standard for most planers. The prices are quite reasonable, not to say that the planes are expensive. Compared to low-power professional models, professional ones cost a little more. But in terms of quality, Baikal is in the category of semi-professional tools, that is, it competes very much with Bosch and Makita models. At least many times we bought these planes for production, where they worked shoulder to shoulder with professional models - this is how Baikal held itself very solidly. As you can see, the models themselves are quite powerful, when compared with imported ones (Skil, Black & Dekker), those have a maximum power of 650 watts. As you know, the more powerful the tool, the less the load on the engine, which means that the planer will last a long time.

Look at the photo, we turned the planer over - and we got a machine, skip the boards, there is also protection that will make the work safer. There are holes in the stand for firmly attaching it to the workbench. You can "tightly" screw it with bolts for greater reliability. The cost of a special stand for a planer is 450 rubles. Note that you can mount planers both 82 mm and 102 mm, since the stand is adjustable in width. Such a stand is suitable only for Baikal models.
In general, the guys-producers are great, they think about those who will work with their instrument and make the maximum convenience for work. Take at least - it also conveniently turns over and is fixed on a workbench, it turns out a stationary circular.
What kind of work can be done with this machine?
First of all, these are the main works on planing a layer of wood from a workpiece. Planers remove from 2 to 4 mm of a layer of wood, this is possible due to the increased power. The convenient handle for adjusting the cutting depth will allow you to do the job efficiently.
The second possibility, one of the most popular - you can choose a quarter. For those who do not know, a quarter is the removal of a layer of wood from one edge of the board (you can adjust the width and depth of the removal). Most often this is done to create a fastening of boards, when part of one board is superimposed on the second. Many models cannot choose a quarter, so be sure to buy electric planers that have this option. Included with the planer is a special device, it is attached like this.
You can choose a quarter of any size, to do this, use the swivels to adjust the depth and width of the sample.
Spare parts for Baikal are always on sale, they are inexpensive, so there are no problems with repairs. Warranty period 1-2 years depending on models.
Separately, it is worth mentioning the knives for Baikal models, they (knives) are noticeably different from imported ones, they are much thicker, more powerful, you can hit knots - nothing will happen to them. The knives are double-sided, so if the knife becomes dull, you can first turn it over. And if the knives are dull on 2 sides, then you can sharpen them yourself if there is emery on the farm. For comparison, if you drive an imported planer with thin blades along a knot, then a fragile knife is likely to break.

How to choose an electric planer?
We all know well from labor lessons at school how a regular hand planer works.
In one of the previous publications, we already talked about how to plan boards with a planer correctly. But the implementation of such a planer of a large amount of work on planing boards or timber is a very difficult task.

This state-of-the-art power tool can perform roughing, trimming, edge cutting, quartering, and is truly an indispensable tool for woodworking.
How is an electric planer arranged?
All electric planers are divided into household and professional.
Depending on this, each model has its own characteristics of engine power, drum rotation speed, planing depth and surface width processed in one pass.
But, regardless of the class of the tool, the device of all electric planers is basically the same. An electric motor is installed in the body, the rotation of which is transmitted by means of a drive belt to a drum with knives fixed on it.

I hope my review will come in handy for those who are starting repairs at home or want to make changes in the decor, at the same time try themselves as a carpenter.
We are talking about the electric planer "Baikal" E-313.
I got this planer easily: from a relative from Russia. I must say, the little thing is very useful in the household, as frequent repairs and orders for countertops require a good and reliable tool. I immediately started working with Baikal, starting to make a new countertop. I must say that the 700 watt planer surpassed all its predecessors (I used to have a 660 watt Skil and BlackDekker). The planer is stable, runs evenly and smoothly, sheds chips in a timely manner, a deep quarter, a long cord and good ergonomics. Many note that the E-313 planer is intended mainly for the home. So it is, for work it is better to take more expensive models, and since my works have curly parts, most of the details are processed manually, with a planer I only remove uneven layers of the upper part.
This model can cut from 2 to 4 mm of wood, which is very convenient. The blade length is 82 mm, mono would have been longer, but it is just right for small parts. If it is well moistened with grease, it will last a long time and true! It is generally worth keeping silent about splinters in a tree; in some cases I didn't even use sanding. The cord does not get tangled, there is the possibility of a stationary installation, which allows you to cut exactly as much as you want.
I also gave my neighbor some time to use it, to say that he was surprised means to say nothing. The table he made for the dacha is indistinguishable from the work of a professional carpenter. Of course, not without my instructions, but, nevertheless, this planer does wonders. And in capable hands - even more so. Thanks to the adjustment of the quarter, woodworking can be done in a variety of ways, by adjusting the depth and width of the cut. I note that not all electric planers can choose a quarter, and this is worth paying attention to.
This model is the cheapest, usually many people charge more, with a 102 mm knife to cut faster. I think it's a matter of taste. But the ratio of the planer price: quality is just a fairy tale.
Probably the only thing that confused me was flash and uneven joints on the plastic part. If the first can be easily removed with a clerical knife, then I simply do not pay attention to the second. The assembly is excellent, the tool is very pleasant to work with; few Russian instruments can indulge the buyer with these qualities. Compared to other imported planes, Baikal will be heavier, there's nothing to be done about it.
