Repair in the apartment takes on a finished look only if all the structural elements are correctly and accurately decorated. Manufacturers of finishing materials offer decorative elements for all types of coatings: plaster, plastic and MDF panels, wallpaper, wooden lining.

Why do we need decorative corners on the walls

An important role in the visual perception of the interior is played by the decoration of the corners of the walls in the apartment. It is they who lose their attractive appearance the fastest. Moving around the apartment, people touch the corners with their shoulders, scratch with portable objects. Surfaces covered with wallpaper are quickly erased.

The protection of the corners of the walls is achieved by overlays of various materials.

In addition to the protective functions, the decor of the corners masks minor imperfections in the finish and inconsistencies in the materials used, such as ceramic tiles.

Important! For the design of walls finished with panels, a decorative corner is sure to be used.

Metal corners for walls will help protect the surface from damage by pets. Often, for some time, decorative finishing of the corners will help to return an attractive appearance to housing. Framing the photo wallpaper with a border tape will give the image the look of a painting.

When to apply

Corners are used in cases:

 • the need to improve the visual perception of the angle;
 • when there is a need to protect the wall decoration material from damage by children or pets;
 • organization of protection against pollution in case of accidental contact;
 • decorative design of the corner provided for by the project;
 • docking of surfaces when materials that require design are used in the interior (tiles, plastic and MDF panels);
 • placement near the corner of large-sized furniture, in this case, the vertical surfaces of the cabinet and walls will look harmonious.

Types of decorative corners on the walls

Understanding the importance of the problem, manufacturers produce products for all types of finishing work:

 • arched;
 • for ceramic tiles;
 • for outside and inside corners.

Note! Docking a decor from several elements cannot be called a beautiful solution. The standard length of decorative corners is 2700 and 3000 mm, it is enough to decorate one corner in the apartment. When buying, you need to purchase a separate decorative element for each corner.

Arched

The design of arched corners has some features. One side of such products is smaller than the other, thanks to which the product becomes flexible, which allows you to stick it without cutting one of the sides. You can’t do without such an element if the wall surface is made of plastic or MDF panels, drywall, lining.

Manufacturers produce corners of any color. When choosing, you should be guided by your taste and the general idea of finishing the apartment.

In general, you should keep in mind the rule: to protect the corner, an element is used that is one tone darker than the wall surface itself. In this case, the lines will be clearer, emphasize the overall style of interior decoration. If wood-like materials are used in the room, for example, linoleum or board-like laminate, it is advisable to use corners made in the same style. Decorative stripes are glued to the wallpaper.

The width of the sides of the corner is selected, taking into account the dimensions of the arched structure and the parameters of the room: the height of the ceilings and the thickness of the wall in which the opening is made

Proportions must be observed: the larger the room, the higher the ceiling and the thicker the walls, the wider the side of the corner is chosen. A narrow decorative element will not emphasize interior details. Conversely, a wide corner looks unnatural in a small kitchen or hallway.

On a note. In special literature and among builders, the side of the corner is called a shelf, this is provided for by GOST. The same name is given to the sides of beams and channels to which the load is applied.

Corners for ceramic tiles

When decorating rooms with tiles, places necessarily appear where its ends are visible:

 • door or window (if any) openings of the bathroom;
 • niches in the walls for cabinets or lighting lamps;
 • columns;
 • steps under the bath or shower;
 • work apron over the workplace in the kitchen;
 • countertops.

You can hide the ends of the tiles by painting them with paint, sticking a decorative overlay, or not touching them at all. Such decoration will not add beauty to the room.

Such elements are made of aluminum alloy or plastic. Coloring of plastic products occurs during manufacture. The paint is incorporated into the plastic. This allows you not to worry about the preservation of the shade throughout the entire period of operation.

Metal parts are polished and varnished. To obtain different colors, thermal or chemical methods of staining are used.

One side of the corner has a perforated ledge. It is mounted on the surface of a wall or ledge. When laying, the perforation is filled with adhesive for ceramic tiles, and after drying, the product is securely connected to the wall. The opposite side is made in the form of an internal protrusion. It includes tiles laid on the adjoining wall.

Attention! When buying a corner, take into account the thickness of the ceramic tile. The dimensions of the protrusions and recesses on the decor elements must match the thickness of the tile.

In addition to decorative properties, the corner helps to level the walls.

For the design of joints in three planes, special overlays are used.

To finish the inner corner, special-shaped profiles, steel or aluminum corners are used.

For outside and inside corners

For interior decoration, decorative corners are used on the corners of the walls. Surfaces covered with plaster, wallpaper, are finished with decorative elements in the form of overlays.

The design of the corner allows you to bend it in different directions. Due to this, such a finishing element is suitable for decorating external and internal corners (acute and blunt), the size of which can be any: from 90 to 170 degrees.

Important! Manufacturers for the entire line of MDF panels produce corners with a finish similar in color and texture. Taking into account the wide variety of shades, it is advisable to simultaneously purchase MDF panels and decorative elements for them.

Polyvinyl chloride corners are suitable for decorating right angles. They are available with walls of various sizes, which allows you to hide gaps of various widths.

Additional elements for plastic panels can be considered a separate type of decorative corners; they can be found on sale under the name moldings. Moldings reliably hide from view the irregularities made when cutting the panels.

Elements are attached to the surface to be trimmed with screws or nails if the crate is wooden. This serves as an additional reinforcement of the structure. For any type of connection, you can choose the desired molding option. A significant drawback of such decorative elements can be considered the absence of products of various colors, mainly white colors are on sale.

textured corners

Textured corners help solve the problem of white corners for plastic panels.

The three-dimensional structure of the surface allows you to choose the right option for plastic panels of any kind and color. Volumetric textured finishing elements made of cast polyurethane look much more profitable and, one might say, “richer” on the walls.

Wooden corners

The corners of the walls covered with lining, as a rule, are decorated with wooden elements.

Such finishing elements harmoniously look in the interior, they are not subject to deformation during temperature fluctuations. Fastening is carried out with special nails with a reduced (hidden) hat or with glue on liquid nails.

natural stone corners

Natural materials are gaining great popularity in the decoration of apartments. One of them is natural stone.

Advice. Natural stone, covering the entire surface of the wall, looks appropriate in spacious buildings. For decorating small areas, the stone is used strictly dosed.

Fastening of natural stone is carried out using building mixtures on a prepared surface.

artificial stone corners

A stone corner on the wall cannot be glued to the wallpaper. In these cases, the interior decoration is made of artificial material corners. Elements are made of expanded polystyrene (polystyrene), and they are covered with hard plastic. This makes them resistant to abrasion, scratches from accidental touches and impacts with various objects. Such elements look good when glued to light-colored wallpapers.

In cases where the walls are decorated with panels made under artificial stone, special corners are used.

There are starting elements to start finishing from anywhere on the surface.

Making aprons for the kitchen

Part of the kitchen wall, which is adjacent to the sink, hob, cutting table, must be protected. Tiles, as a decorative finish, give way to glass, mirrors, decorative panels made of hardboard. It is difficult to make these surfaces solid, therefore, it becomes necessary to design corners, joints of adjoining different materials.

In such cases, various elements are successfully applied. For example, a decorative metal corner looks good when decorating glass or mirror mosaics. Corners made of polished or painted aluminum look appropriate in conditions of high humidity. It is inappropriate to use MDF parts here - their service life will not last long.

Decorative wall corners are an important part of interior design. Properly selected elements will allow you to get unique solutions in the decoration of the apartment, extend the life of the parts until the next repair.

Video

In an apartment, corners and other protruding wall elements are the first to look ugly. They are scratched by various objects and the surface is erased. To preserve the aesthetic appearance and protect the edges of openings, arches and other areas from destruction, colored plastic corners are used for walls. They have different sizes. There are decorative and plain white or transparent ones. They make the interior look better.

White plastic corners

Why align the corners of walls and openings in the interior

Vadik we are building a house. He is a scientist, but physically developed and very curious. I have a small firm. We have been friends for a long time. Therefore, the construction is carried out by my team, or the two of us spend our free time doing his country cottage. I do skilled work. Vadik performs the duties of an assistant and is engaged in self-development.
Before starting the interior decoration, the question arose about colored and white plastic corners for walls and openings.

Another is interested to know:

 1. What are they needed for?
 2. Where are they attached?
 3. What are there?

We walked with him through some objects where the finishing of the corners has not yet been completed and they are crooked. The interior looked ugly. A few days later they visited the same premises after the completion of the alignment of the corners. The impression is completely different. Regardless of the style, wall decoration had an aesthetic appearance. The rooms looked more comfortable even without furniture and with unfinished decoration.
Smooth decorative corners give the interior completeness. Walls and openings look neater. The room visually becomes taller and more spacious.

A way to protect corners in the house from scratches and scuffs

In a building, the protruding corners of the walls are the first to suffer. They are constantly touched by the hand and shoulder, scratched with objects. For protection, plastic colored corners are applied. Durable material has high wear resistance and hardness. It retains its original appearance for a long time.
The profile hides small irregularities underneath. The lines of the walls become clearer. All blows fall on the corner protection element. As a result, wallpapers and other wall decorations retain their fresh look longer. Repairs are delayed for several years.

All impacts fall on the corner protection element

Types and sizes of corners for walls

According to the use of plastic corners are divided:

 • finishing for external corners;
 • arched;
 • for ceramic tiles;
 • profile strip - corner for a bath;
 • ceiling corners;
 • flashings for windows and doors;
 • for external and internal corners under plaster;
 • decorative;
 • furniture.

Corners are stronger than wallpaper. Superimposed on top, they protect them from peeling. The commercially available choice of colors allows you to match the tone exactly to the finish or contrast to emphasize the lines of the openings. For walls sheathed with a board or clapboard, there is a large selection of products with colors for various types of wood. At the same time, the ends of the finishing material are reliably protected from dust and moisture.

For walls, profiles are made from:

 • PVC - polyvinyl chloride;
 • polyurethane;
 • MDF - wood fiber material;
 • Aluminum and its alloys with various coatings.

Paint is added to plastic corners for openings and walls during manufacture. Therefore, they do not fade, remain bright. When I want to hide the presence of trim, I choose transparent elements and glue them with the appropriate silicone.

Finishing corners and arched openings with decorative corners

Arched plastic profiles stand out from the general range with different side sizes and flexibility. On openings with smooth lines they are glued without cutting. Colored and decorative are issued. To protect the corners, use a tone darker than the wallpaper or paint on the wall. The arch line appears more clearly, emphasizing the style of the interior.
If the room has wooden floors and a laminate that imitates boards with its pattern, it is appropriate to choose decorative arched wood-like profiles. Polyurethane corners get their pattern and color during production. Dyes are included in the composition of the material. Additionally, laminated products are available to protect the corners.

I choose the width of plastic colored elements depending on the size:

 • the arch itself;
 • premises;
 • ceiling height;
 • the thickness of the wall in which the opening is made.

The larger the listed interior parameters, the wider the corners should be. A narrow one can get lost among large elements. A wide one will look unnatural in a small hallway with a narrow opening and a thin partition.

Arched plastic profiles stand out from the general range with different side sizes and flexibility

Features of finishing with colored corners of arched openings

Plastic corners for arches are available up to 3 meters long. One strip for finishing is not enough. Joints will become noticeable over time. Therefore, I make them symmetrical. I do not finish in one piece, where necessary.
I paste the upper arc from the center of the arch and the middle of the corner in both directions. Then I symmetrically join on the sides. I clean the ends and glue them. After a few years the joints will become visible, but they are symmetrical and the corners will look good. The arch looks aesthetically pleasing.

Colored corners for tiles

When the question arose about buying colored corners for tiles, Vadik asked his traditional question “Why?”.

I offered him an alternative on all rectangular joints:

 • paint the ends of the tiles with paint;
 • close them by sticking a finishing strip;
 • leave in its natural form to collect dirt and dust.

Having imagined all the options, my friend began to help me, to make calculations. I am a supporter of simultaneous purchases of all necessary materials. In case of financial problems, I recommend buying tiles in batches for their intended purpose. All on the floor in the bathroom, then on the walls and so on throughout. Then take measurements and purchase the finish.

End profile for tiles

We measured with a friend all the transitions where the ends of the tiles can peek out:

 • niches in the walls;
 • steps;
 • door and window openings without platbands;
 • podium near the bath and under the shower;
 • semi-columns.

All dimensions were entered in a table indicating the location, color of the tile and its thickness.
Colored corners for tiles are made of aluminum and its alloys. The metal is coated with various chemical and thermal methods, polished to a mirror finish, varnished or laminated. As a result, the ledges are reliably protected and decorate the room.
One side of the profile is a perforated strip with cuts. It is laid on the surface of the wall or steps. The second is decorative, with a small internal ledge on the back. The side end of the tile is inserted into it when laying corners. It must fit tightly.
In addition to decorative design, the tile profile solves the issue of alignment when finishing. There are three-sided decorative elements for protruding corners. They close connections in three planes and are installed at the junction of two finishing profiles located under 900.

Corner for tiles

Universal flashings for windows and doors

The description of the flashings indicates the size of one side. The second is narrow and is designed to smooth corners, round them. At the same time, this design allows the strip to fit snugly at the joints of the frame with the wall and close the gaps. The material of the corner is selected for the frame.

They are issued:

 • polyurethane;
 • PVC;
 • wooden;
 • metal;

Protective profiles are available in white, colored and decorative. Metal and MDF are recommended to be placed outside. I use them for finishing windows, doors, loggias and balconies. The flashings more reliably than other materials protect the mounting foam from sunlight and moisture. They look great. They are not a mandatory element when facing slopes. You can use sealant and putty with subsequent painting. But with them, windows and balconies take on a complete look.

Bathroom corners

Plastic corners for sealing the joint of the font at the point of contact with the wall are mostly white. You can also use colored, matching the tone of the bath, if the bathroom has a modern design. Use an equilateral profile strip made of polyvinyl chloride, resistant to moisture and temperature changes. The profile is mounted on top and under the tile. Reliably protects walls from moisture. Eliminates the formation of fungus.
Colored and white plastic corners are used in bathrooms for sealing concave and convex corners of walls, installations, washbasins, shower cabins.
To install corners under tiles, for fonts and sinks, manufacturers produce white PVC borders. The angle in them is replaced by a beautifully curved radius. When installed, it hangs over the edge and the water flows into the tub. The wall below remains dry.

Plastic corner for bathroom

Perforated profiles for internal and external corners

Perforated plastic profiles are used to align the corners during plastering and plasterboarding. They are installed directly into the solution, on the finishing sheets and serve as beacons. At the same time, the joint of the walls is strengthened.
For outdoor work use metal. Plastic products are convenient in case of finishing not right angles. They are plastic along the bend line.

Perforated plastic profiles are used to align the corners during plastering and plasterboard finishing.

Corners for ceilings and skirting boards

After closing the frame of the suspended ceiling with a PVC film or plasterboard, the protrusions for hardening are finished additionally. Concave elements are used to enhance the fit of skirting boards. Colored linings are selected to match.
Skirting boards are designed to fit snugly against the wall. However, there are cases when pipes or wires of the underfloor heating system are hidden under them, it is necessary to leave a large gap to expand the laminate and linoleum. I close the gap with a profile to match the skirting board itself. I fasten the corner to another surface, leaving the material to move freely during thermal deformation.
To finish the corners of multi-level ceilings, polyurethane profiles with a side of 10 and 15 mm are used. They easily bend, repeating the shape of the ledge. Most are in demand for whites. The profile is not a mandatory element for reinforcing the ledges on the floor. Rarely used when needed.

How to paint the walls in the bathroom instead of tiles and how to update the cast-iron font

Rational organization of space implies thoughtful functionality and decor of the corners in the apartment. But in any house there are not only internal and external corners that must be properly protected from mechanical stress and destruction. In a small apartment of a typical layout, it is important to think over the arrangement of all corners so that every square meter is endowed with useful functionality.

Great idea for saving space

Here is a collage of pictures you can make in the apartment

It is best to decorate the corners in the apartment with a flexible stone

It seems to many that a few centimeters on both sides of the corner is a completely useless space, but this is not so. It all depends on how they are used, the functionality of the usable area - this is how they design the corners in the apartment.

Personal space is something that is sorely lacking in a cramped apartment with numerous household members. Sometimes there is nowhere to retire to after work to escape from obsessive thoughts to listen to good music on headphones. For this, not much is needed - a comfortable chair in the corner, which can be separated by a movable screen or curtain, but this is not necessary. There are options for what will be comfortable to sit on:

 • bag chair;
 • recliner;
 • folding couch;
 • computer chair;
 • soft chair with armrests;
 • classic or folding chair-bed;
 • sun lounger or back ears (in the summer they are taken to the country).

A cozy place in the corner is suitable for social networking (behind a laptop or tablet), it is advisable to have a lighting device nearby. There may be a landline telephone here, but for communication on a mobile phone, you will want to come to this chair when you hear the call. Such a corner can be equipped in any room, even in the corridor, but be sure to think about lighting.

Flexible stone is perfect for decorating corners

Wall decoration with flexible stone will look great in the interior

It is very convenient when in such a personal space there is a small coffee table or other horizontal small plane:

 • wall shelf;
 • console;
 • floor lamp with shelf;
 • folding table.

On a small shelf, you can place many necessary things, including tea with a sandwich and a charger, if there is an outlet in the corner or a carrier is connected. Such a corner for privacy can be taken in turn, but it can be someone's real personal space. Even if the furniture is slightly out of the corner, the method of application will not change.

A work corner is also an important functionality, especially when you have to zone a one-room apartment. The equipment and furnishing of the working mini-office varies by purpose:

 • computer desk;
 • a desk for a student;
 • corner for sewing equipment and cutting;
 • a place for music lessons;
 • sports simulators and equipment;
 • artist's corner with easel.

Using compact furniture, you can store everything you need for work, study, development and self-education in one place. It is convenient when a corner shelf, shelving or built-in furniture is placed up to the ceiling. It is also important to think about how to decorate the working corner of the room - colored cases for documents, glass shelves, fresh flowers, framed photos, etc.

You can make a fountain in the corner of the room, it will look chic

It is best to decorate the corners with a flexible stone

Such vases will be a great solution for decorating corners.

A collection rack of a small format is useful for those who have nowhere to put their "treasures". It makes no sense to hide real hand-made masterpieces in cabinets, it is better to arrange them beautifully on shelves and showcases.

A narrow corner rack is just the case when you cannot do without furniture. It is desirable that it does not go beyond its place, then the decor of the corner of the wall is not needed, they will be replaced by exhibits. If furniture is not planned, you can display your handicrafts in frames on the walls of the corner.

A mini library in the corner is a great use for a small empty space. If it seems to someone that books have gone into oblivion in the age of computer technology, they are mistaken. In many homes, books are still valued, read, and treasured on shelves. They need shelves, a rack or coasters, not necessarily an angular shape, depending on how to decorate the corners of the walls in an apartment with a mini-library.

A fireplace corner, while there can be a real fireplace, a modern modernized hearth or a false fireplace. This is a self-sufficient element of the interior, it does not need additions, but a clock or an original souvenir can be placed above the decorative fireplace.

A living corner is another smart use for unoccupied furniture space. There may be an aquarium on a pedestal or a whole shelf of "fish breeding", if the family does this for the sake of additional income. You can also place a cage with parrots, a chinchilla, a squirrel or other rodent here. A bed for a cat or a dog is the lower "floor" of a home mini-menagerie.

The most common way to occupy the free corner space of a well-lit room is to put a large plant, indoor exotic or stand with flowers. If the corner is spacious, a bookcase with flower pots or a vertical gardening unit will come in.

You can put tree branches in a vase

 • compact models;
 • corner items.

Before buying, it is important to measure the area of the corner so that the furniture fits completely into it. Its functionality and technical characteristics should be suitable for the room.

In the corner you can put a vase with dry branches

Flexible stone is perfect for decorating corners

Decorative stone is great for wall decoration

With a lack of "square meters" the corners should not be empty. They are furnished according to functionality, and the decor of corners and walls in a 1-room apartment or living room is subject to the overall design. Keep in mind that even compact sofas are:

 • straight and angular (under the right and left corner);
 • with transformation and without layout;
 • sliding forward and sideways;
 • modular (from separate blocks) and island (located in the center of the room).

In a small corner, they can be placed not only close to the wall, but placed diagonally. Folding models should stand in such a way that there is room for the original position and in the unfolded form, plus a place for passage.

The rest of the space can be occupied by any compact furniture. The best corner version of a computer desk is combined with a rack to the ceiling; a lot of necessary little things will fit on its shelves.

In the corner you can put a vase with flowers

There are special corner paintings, they look unusual

Kitchen and dining area.

Before you arrange a corner in the kitchen, see how you can take it to the maximum. See if a refrigerator, a narrow pencil case, or a small section of a kitchen set will go in there. They can be placed one above the other - up to the ceiling.

If there is a gas water heater, extractor hood or counter in the corner, such a corner can be decorated with cabinet doors, imitating a full-fledged kitchen module. The only difference is that the box will not have a bottom and top. You can transform the finished mounted sample.

Finishing the corners of the room can be done with decorative stones

Finishing the corners with flexible stone would be a great idea.

In the corner of the room you can put a bookcase with flowers

For this case, the most convenient corner models of kitchen cabinets. They are more capacious, from the door they do not interfere with neighboring modules. If there is a small compact table with chairs in the corner of the dining area, it is worth considering decorating the corners in a small apartment - for a pleasant assimilation of food.

Experts say that yellow, orange and red decor, as well as some shades of green, cause appetite. The subconscious passively perceives brown, purple, black and blue food, as well as dishes served on metal utensils.

Ways to decorate the corners and walls in the bedroom depend on the main furniture - a bed and a closet (wardrobe, dressing room). A small space in the corner by the bed should be equipped with a comfortable plane:

 • dresser;
 • nightstand;
 • bedside table;
 • console under the mirror;
 • small dressing table;
 • floor lamp with a shelf;
 • dressing table.

The corner of the room can be transformed into a workplace

The outer corners of the walls are the most vulnerable to damage, especially if there are small children or animals. After all, plaster mixtures are not durable and it is enough to slightly touch the corner with a small object to damage it. As a result, if the corner is covered with wallpaper, then dents form, and if it is painted with paint, then notches. Therefore, when repairing an apartment, it is necessary to strengthen the outer corners with special corners.

Corners are plastic PVC (in the photo on the left) and metal. Metal corners are installed during the repair of walls before they are leveled and puttyed, and after the repair is completed, they are not visible from the outside. Plastic corners are installed after pasting the walls with wallpaper or painting. Plastic comes in different colors and you can choose a corner to match the color of the wallpaper or wall color. Plastic corners can be installed at any time, for example, if the outer corner has lost its appearance due to damage or dirt.

With metal corner profile

Protection of external corners with a metal corner profile is preferable, since after the repair of the room, the corner profile is not visible and, most importantly, the problem of aligning the corners and the walls extending from the corner is solved.

The length of a standard corner profile is three meters, so before installing it, you need to measure the length of the corner with a tape measure and cut off the excess part of the profile.

Since the corner profile is made of thin steel, it is well cut with scissors for metal. The sides of the corner are cut towards each other, and the uncut part is easily broken by several folds.

If the corners of the walls are straight (if the walls are lined with gypsum boards), then it is easiest to fix the profile corner with small nails, as shown in the photo. If it is not possible to drive carnations into the corner or it is uneven, then you need to apply a small amount of gypsum, alabaster or rotband on it at a distance of no more than 50 cm from each other, and until the solution has hardened, attach the profile corner to the leveled corner.

In order to securely fix the profile corner on the wall, if there is a gap between its sides and the wall, it is necessary to fill these gaps with a leveling mixture with a spatula before leveling or puttying the walls.

Such a measure will prevent the bending of the corner when leveling the walls and ensure that the corner is securely fastened as a beacon.

After the solution fixing the profile corner hardens, you can proceed to further finishing the adjacent walls. In the photo you see how the corner is hidden by a rotband in the wall surface extending from it.

The use of a profile corner will not only reliably protect the corners from destruction, but also make almost perfectly even outer corners. All six outer corners in the hallway during its repair, I protected and leveled with the help of a corner profile.

With plastic corners

PVC plastic corners are used to protect or decorate painted, wallpapered or decoratively coated exterior walls. But their use is not limited to this. With success, PVC corners can be used for decorative finishing of window and door slopes, panel joints, and in many other cases. Corners are produced in different colors and even transparent. There are widths from 10 mm to 100 mm, lengths of 1.5, 2.3 and 3.0 meters. There are also corners in the form of an arc, specially designed for installation at corners in arches.

Plastic corners are usually fixed with liquid nails, but there are corners with an adhesive layer applied on the inside, protected by anti-adhesion paper.

It should be noted that plastic corners can only be glued to sufficiently even corners, otherwise the gaps formed between the side of the corner and the wall can only worsen the appearance. Therefore, before deciding to protect the corner with a plastic corner, you need to determine if there will be cracks. To do this, attach a long construction ruler or a flat board to the corner. The PVC corner is quite elastic, and if the non-linearity of the wall corner is smooth, then a gap will not appear.

I used a PVC plastic corner for decorative design and protection against destruction of the corners formed by the wall and the slopes of the front door. The corner was chosen with a width of 10 mm in white, since the slopes were painted with white water-based paint, and the walls were the color of coffee with milk. What came out of it can be seen in the photo.

Since the angle formed by the slope of the doors and the wall was not straight, it was difficult to use a ruler to mark the PVC corner. Therefore, the marking was done by applying a corner to the place of the future installation and marking the cut points with a marker.

The thickness of the plastic corner is only 1 mm, therefore, by pressing it against the corner of the repair table, it is easy to cut the corner with a jigsaw. A metal hacksaw will work too. In order for the butt to turn out smooth, after sawing it, you need to walk along it with fine-grained sandpaper fixed on a wooden block.

To fix the corner, it is best to use liquid nails. When buying liquid nails, you need to make sure that they are intended, including for gluing PVC materials. If liquid nails are of high quality, then it is almost impossible to tear them off the corner after drying. I used liquid nails, the packaging of which you see in the photo.

For reliable fixing, it is enough to apply small portions of liquid nails at a distance of 15-20 cm along the entire length of the corner, as in the photo. Next, the corner is applied to the planned place, pressed and held for the time specified in the instructions for a specific brand of liquid nails. Usually the tacking time is a few minutes, and it will take a day to dry completely.

Next, a horizontal corner is marked, cut to size and applied for fitting. If a wedge-shaped gap has turned out between the corners, then with the help of sandpaper fixed on a wooden block, the end face is trimmed to the required size. It is better to make the horizontal corner a millimeter longer than it turned out when trying on. In this case, if you make a mistake, then there will be a possibility of adjustment.

Adjusting the vertical corners of the door slopes is easier, since their lower end is always covered with a floor plinth. Therefore, there is always the possibility for precise adjustment of the contacting ends of the corners.

If high strength is not required, then the outer corners of the walls can be protected with decorative MDF corners covered with a decorative plastic film. With the help of similar material, doors and the facade of the kitchen are now being made. The corners are easy to machine and allow the protection of external corners from 90° to 180°. The range of corners made of MDF is represented by a large selection of colors and patterns, which allows you to match them to the color of the wallpaper or wall color scheme. Protected by such a corner, the outer corners have a beautiful appearance. You can fix them at the corners with any liquid nails. I used this kind of corners for decorative framing of a large mirror mounted directly on the wall.
