Attachments for motor cultivators: types, manufacturers and homemade products. Homemade for walk-behind tractor

13067 10/08/2019 7 min.

If earlier it was necessary to harrow and plow almost manually, using a minimum number of auxiliary tools, now this could be done using special equipment. In this case, we are talking about walk-behind tractors - units that are full-fledged helpers in the garden and vegetable garden. However, the cost of all these equipments is quite high, taking into account the cost of the walk-behind tractor itself, so many craftsmen have adapted to make new home-made products of this or that technical tool.

It is not surprising that the growth of such interest in this technique was associated with the use of various additional equipment of trailed and mounted type (KUN), which significantly expand the functionality of the walk-behind tractor.

About the device of the walk-behind tractor

Next, you will find out which walk-behind tractor is better to choose. To make it clearer what the principle of home-made manufacture of a walk-behind tractor and its additional components is, it is necessary to consider in detail the device of the walk-behind tractor itself as a means of small-scale mechanization. So, this unit includes several main working units:

  • The main driving force, i.e. engine.
  • Transmission.
  • Chassis.
  • Basic controls.

Engine

As the main driving force in the design of walk-behind tractors, a standard internal combustion engine is used. Depending on the type and brand of walk-behind tractor, for example Cayman Vario, Patriot Ural, Texas, Foreman, Crosser, Viking, Forza, the engine used may be different:

  • Petrol 4-stroke engine. This engine is used for units belonging to the light and medium class of devices.
  • Diesel 4-stroke engine. Motors of this kind are used on heavy and powerful walk-behind tractors designed to work on the most difficult surface areas.

For more information about the operation of a diesel walk-behind tractor, see the video:

Of course, 2-stroke motors are also found in the configuration, but they are used in fairly old models of walk-behind tractors, significantly inferior to 4-stroke ones in terms of power traction. However, most consumers get exactly 4-stroke engines running on gasoline. Their device includes the following systems:

  • Fuel supply system. Consists of a fuel tank, carburetor, air filter and fuel hose.
  • A lubrication system that lubricates those parts that rub against each other.
  • A starter that spins the crankshaft.
  • A cooling system that removes heat from the engine cylinder block using airflow.
  • An ignition system that produces a spark at a spark plug.
  • The gas distribution system, which ensures the flow of the air-fuel mixture into the engine cylinder, and is also responsible for the exit of exhaust gases.

It is important that the engine is already sold with all the main working systems, which greatly facilitates the process of home-made manufacture of a walk-behind tractor.

Transmission

The main function of the transmission is to transmit torque from the engine to the wheelbase, as well as speed control and change the movement of the unit. Its design includes several working units: gearbox, clutch, gearbox and differential (not available in all models).

Transmission can be of several types:

  • Gear.
  • Belt.
  • Chain.
  • Combined.

Basically, the classic type of gear transmission is used on heavy walk-behind tractors, and it consists of bevel and cylindrical gears.

The remaining types of transmission are used in light and medium types of walk-behind tractors. At the same time, regardless of the type of transmission, the design contains a PTO - a power take-off shaft that transmits torque to the working units of the unit.

As for the clutch, it can be different:

  • In the form of a V-belt transmission. The essence of the process is the clutch lever, which tightens or loosens the belt, which transmits, or stops the transmission of torque from the motor to the gearbox.
  • Single or multi-plate dry or wet clutch.
  • Conical clutch.

Most high-quality walk-behind tractors Sadko, Don, Huter, Profi, Plowman, Champion, Carver use the second type of clutch, which is most reliable.

Chassis

The chassis includes not only the wheelbase itself, but also the frame structure to which these wheels are attached, and where the main working units of the walk-behind tractor are located.

In more modern models of a walk-behind tractor, a change in the distance between a pair of wheels is provided, which allows you to adjust the track size of the walk-behind tractor.

Today, there are two types of wheels - pneumatic and metal with lugs.

Basic controls

The motoblock control is located on the handle of the unit, responsible for changing the speed and direction of movement of the device. The controls include:

  • Levers, steering wheel and gear shifters.
  • Clutch control.
  • Lever or button to stop the engine.
  • Gas supply, etc.

The design of the walk-behind tractor does not have a seat for a person (as in the Salyut walk-behind tractor), so the control itself is done by the person himself.

Do-it-yourself accessories for a walk-behind tractor

I would like to start the analysis of homemade products with the direct manufacture of walk-behind tractors with my own hands. We are not talking here that we will make the unit from scratch, because it is technically impossible for home conditions.

The main working units will be taken from other equipment, we just have to prepare a certain base on which it was possible to successfully connect all the organs of the walk-behind tractor.

I would like to talk about diesel walk-behind tractors on 4 wheels, the home-made products of which will be discussed later. At their core, these units are similar in appearance and in their technical data to full-fledged mini tractors.

To help farmers, companies produce a variety of special equipment to facilitate the work and maintenance of the farm. all about the device and characteristics of the Khryusha grain crusher.

Millions of people on our land are engaged in horticulture and agriculture. Cultivators for a kitchen garden - will save your time, health and forces.

Those who have their own household should find out what the process of milking with a milking machine is like. By clicking on the link, get acquainted with the milking machine AID 2.

The only difference is the lack of a differential lock on the walk-behind tractors, but otherwise they are very similar - the presence of a driver's seat, steering, and the presence of two pairs of wheels.

It is clear that the alteration will be based on adding several additional nodes to the existing walk-behind tractor - an additional frame for the second pair of wheels, installing a steering wheel and a chair, under which there should be speed control, etc.

Video: Minitractor from the Neva MB2 walk-behind tractor

The finished version costs about 120 thousand rubles, so not everyone has the means to purchase it. Here, home-made production becomes expedient, which is gaining popularity every year.

How to make a four-wheel walk-behind tractor

To make a full-fledged 4-wheel walk-behind tractor, we need a fairly powerful base unit (Bison, Neva, etc.). In this case, we will consider a conversion from the Neva walk-behind tractor, because it is quite common in our country.

For greater convenience, you can purchase a ready-made conversion kit, which costs about 30 thousand rubles.

We conditionally divide the assembly process into several stages:

  • First of all, we need to take care of the manufacture of the frame. We are talking about an additional structure of the bearing type, under which the second pair of wheels will be located. To make the frame, we need pieces of pipe and metal corners.
  • There are no special requirements for the parameters of the pipe, but it must be borne in mind that the load on these elements will be sufficient.
  • The elements of the pipe must be cut with a grinder, and then fastened together with bolts. For better structural stability, a transverse steel beam can be welded.
  • You also need to weld a device for attaching attachments and trailed equipment to the frame. It can be mounted both in front and behind the unit.
  • To mount the front pair of wheels, we need a metal pipe, the diameter of which must match the width of the front axle. Wheel hubs must be attached to the pipe.
  • In the center, you need to drill a through-type hole, through which we fasten the structure to the front frame. Next, the gearbox and tie rods are installed. Then install the steering wheel.
  • As wheels, you can use old ones from Soviet cars.
  • We install the existing engine on the front of the structure. This is done so that the walk-behind tractor is more stable on the surface, because attachments or trailed equipment will be located behind it.

By the way, additional equipment for a walk-behind tractor will be connected to a walk-behind tractor using a tow bar (for a trailer to a walk-behind tractor) and a special bracket (for attachments).

Such do-it-yourself home-made products for a walk-behind tractor are quite reliable and practical in operation, because the whole structure turns out to be more monolithic, representing a complete device with a seat and a steering wheel. In terms of functionality, they are even comparable to mini tractors, which are much more expensive.

We will additionally consider homemade products for the Neva walk-behind tractor with our own hands, since it is so popular. In particular, you can make several options for additional equipment:

  • Blade for motoblock.
  • Okuchnik disk type, etc.

Dump

The blade is necessary not only for snow removal in winter, but also for clearing various debris. For its manufacture, we need ordinary sheet metal, the thickness of which will be about 2 mm. Inside it, you need to weld 4 ribs of the same steel, but about 4 mm thick.

They need to drill holes through which the blade with rods will be fastened. The lower part of the structure is best sheathed with tin to prevent the blade from being buried in the ground.

Hiller

To make it, we need a couple of ordinary metal pot lids (enamelled, in this case, will not work). Their diameter should be about 500 mm. Next, we sharpen the edges of the covers on a grinding machine so that they better enter the soil.

Disc hillers need to be attached to a makeshift cart with wheels. They are made from ordinary bushings and pipes welded together.

Attachments to walk-behind tractors and motor-cultivators, home-made products of which can be completely made independently, come in a variety of types:

  • Weeding equipment.
  • Potato diggers and potato planters.
  • Snow blowers, etc.

Homemade trailer

Trailers for walk-behind tractors and their homemade products are a fairly simple design, consisting of a conventional box with sides located on a wheelbase.

For self-manufacturing of the trailer, we need:

  • Professional pipe 40×25 mm and 25×25 mm. It is needed for the manufacture of the trolley hitch itself with a walk-behind tractor, as well as for the manufacture of sides - inside and under the trailer.
  • For the body, we need to make a frame structure from a professional pipe 40 × 25 cm and 25 × 25 cm. The bottom of the body can be made from an ordinary piece of sheet metal. Pieces of the corrugated pipe must be welded to the bottom of the body in such a way that a lattice is obtained. On top of these edges, a full-fledged piece of professional pipe is welded around the entire perimeter.
  • On the finished frame you need to install a profiled sheet, which will serve as boards. The height of each side is approximately 30 cm.
  • The tailgate needs to be made folding. As latches, we use ordinary latches that need to be attached on both sides of the board. This board is attached to the bottom of the body with the help of ordinary hinges from the doors. On the same board, you can install reflectors that act as reflectors.
  • Wheels can be taken from Oka or Zhiguli cars - their diameter will be optimal.
  • The bridge can also be taken from the old Zhiguli. The wheels are attached to it with a pair of bearings. You can fix the bridge to the frame using pieces of pipe, up to two on each side. One end of the pipe is welded to the bridge, and the other - to the body.

The feasibility of making a homemade trailer is quite understandable, because the cost of all the costs of a homemade product is about 4 thousand rubles, which is several times lower than the price of a finished trailer in a store.

The best homemade equipment

Homemade products with an engine from a walk-behind tractor (read a do-it-yourself harrow for a walk-behind tractor) are also of some interest. Among them, the most interesting is the manufacture of a snowmobile. As a running gear, you can use a transport tape on which you need to attach snow hooks.

In addition, interesting are the options for manufacturing other various types of equipment from a walk-behind tractor:

  • ATVs. By type of design, they resemble mini tractors, but they have wheels of a higher diameter. This is necessary so that the unit can pass through the most difficult terrain.
  • Minitractor. We have already considered this design, which includes an additional part of the frame for the second pair of wheels, as well as steering wheels and a driver's seat.

Conclusion

Do-it-yourself motoblock homemade products, the drawings of which can be found on the Internet, are the best way out for those who do not have the opportunity to spend extra money on the purchase of additional equipment.

Considering that the savings are significant, there are a lot of people who want to make such technical means with their own hands.

In order to increase the capabilities of the walk-behind tractor, it is enough to equip it with various attachments. For all models, manufacturers have developed numerous additions, the use of which facilitates work on the ground.

On sale you can find plows and seeders, hillers, furrow diggers, sleds. The choice, of course, is large, but the cost of such equipment is beyond the reach of many. But it is quite realistic to make it on your own from cheaper or used materials.

How to make a flat cutter with your own hands?

A practical addition to the walk-behind tractor is a flat cutter. This is an indispensable assistant that creates beds, weeds and spuds plantings, levels, falls asleep, and loosens the ground. The possibilities of such a nozzle are almost limitless.

If you place the blades of the flat cutter on the left and lead in the same plane with the soil, then you can weed or loosen the ground. By slightly lifting the device, the blades turned to the left will cut high weeds. If the blades look down, then it is easy to create beds with them.

A flat cutter will again help to form grooves for planting and cover the seeds. This is the function of the digger.

You can use Fokin's flat cutter as a hitch for a walk-behind tractor. It has the necessary holes for hanging on the structure. If you need a flat cutter of a different size, then you can make it yourself. This will help the drawings and a small metal blank.

The metal must be of sufficient thickness and strength so that in the future it can perform the functions of a blade. The sheet is heated with a blowtorch and bent according to the scheme. When the flat cutter gets the desired shape, it is cooled with water. In order for this workpiece to become an attachment, it is necessary to make holes for fasteners and sharpen the workpiece with a grinder.

A sheet of metal can be replaced with a piece of pipe, to which pieces of metal are attached like blades. They need to be sharpened.

Sizes and features of the manufacture of hedgehogs

A walk-behind tractor with a nozzle for growing potatoes will save time and effort when caring for this crop. Weeding hedgehogs are a functional attachment that allows you to quickly and efficiently defeat weeds. In the process of weeding, plants are not just cut off, but uprooted. The earth around the plant is well loosened and hilled. Thanks to this, the plant is not only freed from weeds, but also receives sufficient water and oxygen.

Hedgehogs can be purchased at almost any agricultural store, but at a fairly high price.

Based on the diagrams and drawings, you can make them yourself.

Ingredients for hedgehogs:

  • 3 metal discs or rings;
  • a small piece of pipe with a diameter of 30 mm;
  • steel rods for cutting spikes.

It is preferable to use rings instead of discs, which will facilitate the entire structure. The sizes of rings for the manufacture of walk-behind tractor hedgehogs are different. The most common are 240x170x100 mm or 300x200x100 mm. Rings are attached to the pipe through jumpers. The connection must be made at an angle of 45 degrees with a distance between the elements of no more than 15-18 cm.

Spikes cut from a steel rod 10-15 cm long are welded onto the rings and the axle itself. Depending on the size, they are attached to a large ring in the amount of 15 pieces, to a small one - 5. Also, several pieces can be welded onto the axle.

To facilitate work with the design, a walk-behind tractor with hedgehogs is equipped with additional wheels.

We make a snowplow bucket with our own hands

The walk-behind tractor is useful on the farm not only in summer, but also in winter. It is often equipped as a snow blower. It is enough to make a bucket for a walk-behind tractor, and an iron assistant will do the hard work.

A snow shovel is usually made from a 200-liter iron barrel. You will also need strips of metal, a square pipe, rubber and steel plates and fasteners - bolts, nuts. Of the tools - pliers or pliers, a drill and drill bits for metal, wrenches, a grinder, a welding machine.

The side parts are cut out at the barrel with a grinder. Then the workpiece is cut into three parts. Two of them are welded along the contour. The remaining third of the barrel must be divided into metal strips, which will be the bucket knives. Three holes with a diameter of 6 mm are drilled in them for fastening along the edge of the bucket. Instead of a barrel, you can use a metal sheet, which will need to be bent by heating.

A strip of metal is welded to the bottom of the bucket to make it heavier. The metal strip is completely covered with rubber to prevent wear. Then the bucket is attached to the walk-behind tractor. To protect against corrosion, a homemade bucket is primed and painted.

You can turn a walk-behind tractor on wheels into a snowmobile using a trailer and winter wheels. With the help of a channel, the trailer is fixedly fixed to the frame. Instead of expensive wheels, used cameras from trucks are used. On each wheel, the deflated bladder is secured with chains and re-inflated. It is quite simple to equip a snowmobile with homemade sleds.

How to design a trencher?

A homemade trencher is a mounted attachment to a walk-behind tractor that allows you to quickly and effortlessly dig trenches and pits. It is a kind of compact excavator with maneuverability and economy. Moves on wheels or tracks.

Digger attachment allows you to dig trenches and holes even in frozen ground. The walls of the trenches are smooth, without shedding. The developed earth is light and crumbly and can be used for backfilling.

Two cutters are fixed on the front suspension, on the back - a shovel for extracting soil from the trench. Protective covers must be attached to the cutting discs and chain drive for safety reasons. According to the same principle, a drill nozzle is made of a metal rod and plates.

Manufacturing of other hinged structures

The motoblock can be equipped with a variety of useful devices - a plow, a rake, all kinds of shovels, mowers, skis, brushes. Desire, understandable schemes and descriptions of work will help to repeat the store analogs of hinged elements and even improve them, because they will meet individual requirements and conditions.

So, for cultivating the land, a plow is needed that can overcome virgin soil overgrown with grass, wet or stale soil. For its manufacture, a steel plate with a thickness of about 5 mm is required. With the help of rollers, the plate is bent into a cylinder. The edges are sharpened with a grinder.

The resulting homemade plow is hung on a walk-behind tractor rack through a hitch.

By the same principle, it is easy to make a nozzle that forms furrows. Well, if there are racks from the cultivator. They can be attached to a corner or make two racks from improvised materials. To do this, plates are cut out of a metal sheet with a thickness of 1.5-2 mm. The size of the plates should correspond to the depth and width of the furrow. They are fastened with bolts to the racks of the structure. You can use this nozzle for instillation. It is only necessary to give the plates the desired shape. They should be in the form of a disk or circle, located at a certain angle. From above, such plates are located closer than below. Due to this, the disks, rotating, open the cavities outward.

The linkage to the cranberry harvester contains a self-propelled platform on a caterpillar track. An intake is fixed on the swing frame of the platform. It is made in the form of a box with bent parallel teeth. Moving, the device with the help of draft from the fan captures the berries in the box. Fan powered by engine. Helical spirals are installed in the box.

Picked cranberries are heavier than garbage, so they fall to the bottom of the container. Leaves, small specks that fall along with cranberries are removed through the hole along with the air flow from the fan.

A brush for a walk-behind tractor is used to clean the area not only from leaves, but also from shallow snow. Simplicity, efficiency and versatility of use are the obvious advantages of this hinged element. A brush shaft is vertically attached to the walk-behind tractor. A ring and disks with brushes are alternately put on it. The diameter of the rings is 350 mm. The grip width of such a brush is usually made no more than one meter. So the walk-behind tractor retains maneuverability and covers a fairly large surface area for cleaning.

The length of the bristles is 40-50 cm, otherwise it will soon begin to wrinkle and wrinkle. It will not work to restore the properties of the bristles, only hang new disks. The speed of the walk-behind tractor with a mounted brush ranges from 2-5 km / h, depending on the engine power of the unit.

How to make a plow for a walk-behind tractor with your own hands, see the next video.

When purchasing an assistant in a store to work in a summer cottage, backyard or small farm plot, you need to remember that even diesel heavy walk-behind tractors themselves are nothing more than an expensive toy with a powerful engine. A multifunctional assistant, they are made by a variety of accessories for a walk-behind tractor. Most manufacturers of mini-equipment also produce various additional equipment for completing their models of walk-behind tractors, but many owners prefer to make various fixtures and nozzles for their walk-behind tractor with their own hands, looking for all kinds of diagrams and drawings for this.

Trailer and attachments

Despite the variety of additional equipment, it can be conditionally divided into two groups:

  • Trailer devices;
  • Attached equipment for motoblocks.

But this division is really arbitrary, because most of these units can be mounted both directly on the walk-behind tractor and on special trailers - adapters. In the first case, it becomes mounted, and in the second, fixed on the adapter, it turns into a trailer. Of the entire large list, only lugs and weighting agents refer exclusively to attachments for the walk-behind tractor itself, and are not used in the hitch, but their purpose is to improve the adhesion of the unit to the ground, so they are not so much production equipment, but rather accessories for the walk-behind tractor.

Working attachments include:

  • plows;
  • cultivators;
  • cutters;
  • hillers;
  • soil cutters;
  • pumps;
  • mowers.

Attachments for a walk-behind tractor are not limited to this list only - there are still many attachments, mostly homemade.

The list of actually trailed working devices for walk-behind tractors is not so long:

  • special couplings (adapters).

Using these devices, you can turn a single-axle unit into a two-axle mini tractor, which will be much easier and safer to work on. Almost the entire hitch on the walk-behind tractor can also be hung on special hitches. Often, the owners use two sets of attachments at the same time: one is hung directly on the walk-behind tractor, and the second set of attachments is attached to the adapter, thus doubling the performance of the unit.

Which is better: factory or homemade attachments?

Seemingly absurd at first glance, the question is actually far from being so simple. It is clear that a factory attachment to a walk-behind tractor is better than a homemade one, but the trouble is that it often only fits equipment of one brand.

What comes out of it? You have a walk-behind tractor, there is, for example, a factory mower for it, but there was no hitch for it, and you made a homemade hitch. In this situation, it may well happen that you have problems with assembling your homemade hitch for a walk-behind tractor and a factory mower into one unit - either the mount will fail, or something else will not fit.

In fact, for many owners, making attachments for walk-behind tractors with their own hands is a necessary measure. After all, the total cost of all the necessary devices and devices, without which the multifunctional operation of this mechanism is simply impossible, is often ten or even one and a half higher than the cost of the model itself. Therefore, having purchased a walk-behind tractor, many people simply cannot afford to purchase additional equipment for them, especially when it comes to buying powerful diesel models, the cost of which is already 1.5-2 times higher than the cost of their gasoline counterparts.

Another reason that leaves the owners of domestic brands with no choice but to make equipment on their own, whether mounted or trailed, for their walk-behind tractors is the lack of high-quality factory analogues. Therefore, instead of buying imported equipment at exorbitant prices and then trying to hang it on domestic models, it is much easier and cheaper to make trailed or attached equipment for your walk-behind tractor with your own hands.

In addition, home-made - does not mean bad, low quality. The attachment to the walk-behind tractor assembled from improvised materials gives no less, and often even more benefits than those stamped on the factory conveyor. After all, it is assembled by hand, it has a minimum of complex knots and a maximum of practicality. In addition, such equipment is obtained as much as possible adapted to the relief of the land on which it will work. The main thing is that such a prefix is \u200b\u200bassembled correctly and with maximum observance of safety precautions during its operation.

The most unexpected homemade devices

Probably the most common use of a walk-behind tractor after cultivating the soil and transporting goods is a wood splitter, which allows you to split large chocks without much physical strain. True, the wood splitter itself is mounted on a separate frame, and only a working motor is used from mini-equipment.

The second common use of this mechanism is to turn it into a snowmobile or swamp. The most amazing thing is that craftsmen manage to carry out this transformation, practically without changing anything in the design of the unit.

First, a trailer is hooked to the walk-behind tractor in order to have a two-axle four-wheeled unit, and then air is released from all wheels. On flat wheels put on special homemade lugs. Their width is 2-3 times wider than the standard width of a conventional wheel. Then the wheels are pumped up again, which, increasing in volume, are tightly pressed against the lugs put on top of them.

Due to the width of the wheels, such a device puts pressure on the ground 2-3 times less than conventional wheels, but due to its spikes it has sufficient grip with it, so the unit “shod” in such devices runs quite briskly both through mud and snow . But it should be noted that over rough terrain on such a vehicle is still not particularly accelerated.
There are many more wonderful devices invented by folk ingenuity, each of which deserves a separate story.

With the purchase of a walk-behind tractor, the user has a desire to use it in all household work for summer cottages, gardens, etc. Some seek to immediately purchase the maximum possible set of attachments for a walk-behind tractor, others buy only the minimum row, gradually buying the rest. The third category of owners undertakes the independent manufacture of devices and additional devices with their own hands. Sometimes they are in many ways superior to what the industry can offer.

What are motoblocks equipped with

By itself, the walk-behind tractor is only a power unit with wheels. In order for it to perform useful work, it must be turned into an agricultural machine, supplemented with attachments. Only then do the positive aspects of this energy-rich device begin to appear.

A small list of the main attachments and nozzles:

  1. Grousers will allow the walk-behind tractor to move on arable land.
  2. Plow and cutter. Since ancient times, deep processing of the earth with the turnover of the layer was carried out by plows. The soil cutter is a device capable of loosening the fertile layer.
  3. The potato planter will facilitate the work of the villager and summer resident when planting potatoes.
  4. The flat cutter is one of the ancient tools that is experiencing a rebirth with the advent of the ideas of organic (ecological) farming.
  5. Okuchniki. An increase in the yield of root crops, as well as an increase in the efficiency of the root system of plants, is achieved by using hillers.
  6. The trailer turns the walk-behind tractor into a vehicle that can carry goods on the site and public roads.
  7. The snow blower extends the period of use of the walk-behind tractor; in winter it is actively used to clear snow.

This is not a complete list of attachments for walk-behind tractors.

It is not necessary to purchase the entire set of attachments for a walk-behind tractor at once. Additional tools are purchased or manufactured as needed.

Do-it-yourself lugs

Engine torque is transmitted to the wheels through the transmission. To move on arable land, you need to create enough effort. You can increase traction by increasing the coefficient of adhesion of the wheel to the ground. Therefore, the lug increases this coefficient several times, allowing not to increase the mass of the power unit.

To make this attachment, you need to purchase:

  • sheet steel 2-3 mm thick, steel of ordinary quality st3 is sufficient;
  • isosceles corner 35-50 mm;
  • pipe with an inner diameter of more than 25 mm.

This set of blanks is sufficient to get started. It remains to choose a design or develop your own.

The lug can be leading and overhead. Leading lugs are installed in place of the base wheels of the walk-behind tractor. Overhead put on over the base wheel. Leaders do more often.

Do-it-yourself plow and cutter

The plow, for all its outward simplicity, is quite difficult to manufacture. Usually, manufacturing begins with a hitch - special attachments. The body is fixed on the hitch - this is the main working body. cuts the soil layer. Next, a layer is formed, and then its turnover occurs.

The design of the plow body includes several components:

  • ploughshare - crashes into the soil;
  • dump - serves to create a given movement to the formation and turnover;
  • field board - stabilizes the direction of travel of the entire agricultural unit.

For a walk-behind tractor, the design of a rotary plow is interesting; with one movement of the latch, the plow easily changes from right to left and vice versa. This is very convenient for cultivating land in small areas.

If the plow can be conditionally recognized as a passive working hitch, then the soil cutter is active. When cultivating the soil, the wheels are removed, the movement of the unit occurs due to the rotation of the cutters. The working blades make a rotational movement and loosen the earth.

  • the lister (fertilizer) hiller is structurally similar to the plow body with two dumps; it moves in the aisles, moving the earth from the groove to the ridge. They are used with a relatively small row spacing;
  • disk hiller in the form of two disks covering the ridge. When they move, a ridge is created immediately on both sides;
  • rotary (propeller), having active plates that throw soil into the ridge.

Lister hillers are often equipped with adjustable blades. This allows you to change the width of the working body. Many use propeller attachments for hilling potatoes, but by cutting the rhizomes of perennial weeds, they contribute to clogging the field.

The most common disc hillers, they are easy to manipulate in the process. They are also easy to make with your own hands.

Do-it-yourself trailer for a walk-behind tractor

The trailer expands the capabilities of the walk-behind tractor. With it, it turns into a vehicle capable of delivering various cargoes. The parameters of this home-made attachment for a walk-behind tractor depend on the available power. The higher it is, the more complex the cart can become.

For energy-saturated walk-behind tractors with engines over 10 hp. two-axle trailers are possible, which can carry up to 1000 kg of cargo. Usually they build small ones, the carrying capacity of which is 300-500 kg.

There is an important requirement. The reliability and controllability of the tow hitch must comply with the characteristics required for vehicles operated on public roads. Therefore, axles or bridges from other wheeled vehicles are most often used. Many are guided by the use of ready-made bridges from cars and cargo scooters.

Wheels from scooters are designed for a load of more than 150 kg each. Therefore, they are taken as the basis for design. Some do-it-yourselfers complete the trailer with a spare tire to make a quick change on the road.

The main thing is to create a solid frame, as it will take the load from the transported materials. At the same time, the safety of all road users when operating a walk-behind tractor with a trailer on roads where there are other vehicles also depends on a strong frame.

DIY snow blower

When purchasing a walk-behind tractor, most users expect to operate it only in the spring and summer. In fact, when using an energy-saturated unit in winter as a snow blower, you can significantly increase the efficiency of its use in a personal household. There are times when snow has to be removed from the paths and the territory almost every day.

Several types of snow cover are used:

  • auger with a rotary ejector;
  • bulldozer type with blade;
  • a shovel-dump is a simplified type of snow blower;
  • rotary fan.

For most users, it is enough to have a blade-shovel, this snow blower is much easier to make.

The user, depending on his conditions, is determined by the type of snow blower he needs. Many take on the manufacture of a complex auger, believing that it is this device that will help in the winter. In fact, most are convinced that it is easier to simply move the snow, freeing the roadway and territory.

Motoblock is indispensable in the modern economy. Equipped with various attachments, this technique can literally do everything from hilling potatoes to snow removal or firewood. At the same time, universal walk-behind tractors can be called a stretch: as a rule, the list of equipment connected to even the most expensive models is limited to 2-3 types of attachments. However, it is not at all necessary to be content with only what the manufacturer offers. After all, almost any of the motor-block units that may be required for housekeeping or gardening can be done independently.

Withhomemade attachments for walk-behind tractors

What to do if you already have a walk-behind tractor, but it is not possible to install factory attachments on it? There is only one way out - to independently design the necessary functional unit, not relying on the ingenuity of the manufacturer and the generosity of market players.

The list of mounted units for walk-behind tractors is very diverse. It includes:

  • plows;
  • harrows;
  • rake;
  • potato diggers, hillers and potato planters;
  • flat cutters-weeders;
  • rototillers;
  • seeders; sweepers and snow blowers;
  • wood splitters;
  • dumps;
  • water pumps;
  • spray pumps, etc..

Obviously, such a rich arsenal of attachments is not included in any package. It remains only to imagine how much, in addition to the walk-behind tractor itself, the purchase of all the units necessary for housekeeping will cost. Do not forget that on the market truly universal walk-behind tractors can be counted on the fingers. That is, equipment that fits any particular model can rarely be connected to another. Fortunately, manufacturers still provide for the possibility of modifying the produced motor-block equipment, mainly due to the additional one. These may include:

  • additional axle shafts (hubs);
  • creepers;
  • cargo (weights);
  • lugs;
  • adapter seats;
  • transport trolleys and trailers;
  • coulters (thrust levers);
  • hitches, etc.

Any of these nodes can be made independently or taken from other models and adapted to yours. But first of all, you should make sure that they are compatible. Power, dimensions and weight, connection method, workloads, etc. - all this should be taken into account at the development stage, otherwise you risk wasting effort and money.

Making a homemade trailer adapter

The adapter allows you to turn the walk-behind tractor into a mini-tractor and automate gardening work as much as possible.

Its design includes:

  • metal frame;
  • hitch;
  • cross bar;
  • braces;
  • wheel racks, axle and wheels;
  • governing bodies;
  • operator's seat;
  • cart or .

A simple frame for the adapter is made of a metal pipe of round or rectangular cross-section 1.5-1.7 m long. A drawbar (hitch) is welded to it at one end - an element with which the structure will be attached to the towbar of the walk-behind tractor, and on the other - a transverse a bar, the width of which is selected in accordance with the width of the wheelbase of the latter. Wheel racks and braces are welded to the bar, the function of which is to ensure structural rigidity and shock absorption when moving around the site. As for the wheels, they can be removed from a regular garden cart or car trailer.

As a rule, the connection of the walk-behind tractor adapter and attachments is carried out using a single hitch. The control of functional units is carried out by means of a lever with 2 or 3 knees - by switching them you can adjust the position of the installed mounted unit. In addition, an additional lever can be used to control the applied force. Finally, a metal “leg” must be welded in the center of the transverse rod, on which it will be placed.

The longer the drawbar of the adapter, the more powerful the walk-behind tractor should be. At the same time, the power of the engine of the latter also affects the choice of wheels, as well as the section of the pipe from which the frame will be made.

The most convenient option to use is a disk hiller. To work with it, you need to make a minimum of physical effort, and with a decrease in the speed of movement, its power increases, which positively affects the efficiency of work. In addition, the disc design of the hiller is versatile - with the help of such a tool, you can perform agricultural work both immediately after planting garden crops, and during their intensive growth.

The design of the disk hiller includes:

  • disks;
  • T-shaped leash (frame);
  • racks;
  • screw talpers.

Talpers are designed to adjust the angle of rotation of the discs. The depth of immersion of the latter, as well as the effort required to complete the work, depends on the latter. To facilitate the work of the operator, the hiller is equipped with, which ensure the reliability of the design and ease of use.

The discs are made of alloyed steel with a thickness of 1.5-2 mm. Their outer edges are bent, and a hole is made in the center for adapters, with which they will be attached to the hiller frame. If it is not possible to make discs yourself, you can borrow them from an end-of-life planter or other similar equipment.

The okuchnik can have a fixed or variable working width. In the second case, you can adjust the distance between the disks by rearranging the racks. The elements of the mounted unit are connected by bolts or welding.

Do-it-yourself potato digger for a walk-behind tractor

This type of attachment greatly facilitates the process of harvesting potatoes, as well as other tuberous crops.

The main structural elements of a potato digger are:

  • welded frame;
  • ploughshare;
  • editorial node;
  • drum cleaner.

The plowshare - the movable part of the potato digger - is made of steel rods and one or more pointed steel plates. The sharp edges and ends of the plowshare structural elements are blunted so as to prevent damage to the potato tubers.

For the manufacture of a welded frame, about 60x40 mm in size, a profiled pipe and a section of channel No. 8 are required. The dimensions, as well as the weight of the frame, which depends on the weight of the materials used and the features of the design solution adopted, must correspond to the dimensions and power of the walk-behind tractor.

The editorial node is the main element of the potato digger. For its manufacture, you will need two metal cylinders that will act as cups for connecting bushings - with the help of this design, the interaction of the drive and driven shafts is ensured. Next, from a metal pipe with a diameter of 25 mm, it is necessary to make hubs, to which the gear sprockets are welded. The latter, with the help of prismatic dowels, are mounted on the bushings.

The most difficult part of the potato digger is the cleaning drum. Its design includes a pair of roller chains of 94 links each, which are put on special rods. This element, called the "squirrel wheel", is fixed on two fixed axles, which ensures its mobility during rotation. Thus, by the force of the motor shaft, the ploughshare of the potato digger attached to the movable casing will change the angle of inclination, making digging movements in the process of movement.

The angle of inclination of the working part and the depth of the dig are adjusted using the slider. It is made of fluoroplastic, and its parameters are selected in accordance with the characteristics of the main unit (engine power, travel speed, etc.), as well as the properties of the cultivated soil.

Homemade snow blower for walk-behind tractor

Not everyone can afford to buy a professional snow blower. And is it worth doing it if it will work only a few times a year? On the other hand, it is not at all necessary to clear the territory manually - you can make a quite decent snow removal unit for a walk-behind tractor yourself.

The simplest option is the dump type. It consists of two main elements: an adapter and, in fact, a blade. The first consists of a pair of metal rods and three brackets. With the help of rods, the blade is attached to the frame of the walk-behind tractor, and the brackets provide the ability to adjust its position horizontally and vertically. This can be done manually, or with the help of a traction or lever mechanism. The basis of such a system is a rotary assembly, which can be borrowed from various self-propelled vehicles or made by hand, using the front wheel assemblies of a car as a basis.

To make a bulldozer, you need to make a metal frame, which is sheathed with 1-2 mm sheet of tin on one side. If the paths in your yard are no more than 70-80 cm wide, a 50 cm plow will be ideal, with which you can easily maneuver during the snow removal process. A knife is installed on the lower edge of the blade, located at an angle with respect to the main axis of the frame, using bolted or riveted joints. The more tilted the blade, the easier the blade cuts through hardened layers of snow. A small angle opposite allows you to move the snow mass without a significant increase in engine power.

To increase the structural rigidity, the blade can be sheathed around the perimeter with a metal corner, and the frame can be provided with additional ribs. However, all this leads to a weighting of the structure and, as a consequence, to an increased consumption of fuel and engine life of the main unit.

Do-it-yourself universal attachments for a walk-behind tractor

Some types of functional units of a walk-behind tractor have a similar design and principle of operation. Therefore, if you are making them yourself, think about versatility. For example, a potato digger can be modified for a potato planter, and a snow blower for. Several changes in the design and the same unit can be used to solve various economic problems - this will save not only money and effort, but also the space required for storing equipment.
