Sheremetyevo is one of the largest international airports in Russia. It is also among the twenty largest airports in Europe.

But where is Sheremetyevo Airport?

Sheremetyevo is located between the cities of Khimki and Lobnya and territorially belongs to the urban district of Khimki.

It is almost an hour's drive from the center of Moscow, if you drive without traffic jams. On the map, Sheremetyevo Airport is located near Dolgoprudny.

Sheremetyevo Airport on the map

South and North - of these two parts it is composed. It has 5 terminals - D, E, F, A and C. There used to be a sixth one - B, but it was closed. The layout of the terminals of Sheremetyevo Airport is quite simple - the first three are in front - D, E, F, and the other two are on the north side.

There is a well-organized communication system between them: a shuttle runs from Terminal C to the South Complex. It is free for passengers with an air ticket or an electronic ticket.

To get to the airport, you can use, which departs from the Belorussky railway station every 20-30 minutes and after 30-40 minutes will take you to the airport.

It follows non-stop. This is the most convenient option. From other public transport - from different metro stops, many buses and minibuses go there.

Terminal F (SVO-F)

This is one of the largest Sheremetyevo terminals, located on the territory of ninety-five thousand square meters. The annual passenger traffic is seven thousand million people.

In 2009, Terminal F was opened after significant modernization and reconstruction. The five floors of the SVO-F building have everything for a comfortable stay of passengers. On the first floor of the building in the arrivals area, you can make a free call within Russia. Three telephone booths are located immediately opposite the exits from the building.

You can order a licensed taxi from a single airport operator (Yandex.Taxi) at the counters on the left and right sides of the complex (next to the exit). On the second floor, in the departure hall in the left wing of the building, you can find a pedestrian crossing to the railway terminal (aeroexpress), to air complexes D and E. Railway terminal (Aeroexpress)

This terminal has been serving passengers for ten years (open since 2008). It can be found in the southern complex at the level of the third floor of terminal F. The infrastructure of the zone includes skype-cabins of the Sheremetyevo hotel, restaurants, cafes, a mother and child room. Two ticket offices operate on the right and left side of the hall.

At the entrance to the railway terminal area, you can use the luggage wrapping service. In the same left part of the hall there is a pedestrian corridor with travolators to the airport shuttle and terminals F, E, D.

The changing room is also located on the left side of the hall next to the Pelmeni cafe, opposite the elevator and escalators. You can use the free phone charging service in the central part of the zone, next to the Shokoladnitsa cafe, the Burger King fast food restaurant and the Starbuck coffee shop.

Eleven ATMs of Sberbank, City Bank, VTB 24, Promsvyazbank are distributed around the entire perimeter of the terminal. A branch of Sberbank can be found on the left side of the hall, not far from the transition to other airport complexes. The opening hours of the branch are from half past nine in the morning until half past eight in the evening.

Aeroexpress from Sheremetyevo departs every thirty minutes and goes to the Belorussky railway station. The train arrives at its destination in thirty-five minutes. The fare is five hundred rubles one way, if you buy a ticket on the website, then the transfer will be cheaper.

Sheremetyevo International Airport, which serves about 90 thousand people daily, and about 30 million a year, rightfully ranks third in the world in terms of passenger traffic. To receive such a huge number of passengers, one terminal is not enough, so there are five of them at the airport. The scheme of Sheremetyevo Airport, presented below, will help you not to get confused in the variety of zones.

So, Sheremetyevo Airport, all the terminals in 2018, what they are.

Conventionally, the airport is divided into two complexes:

  1. South Terminal Complex (UTK)
  2. Northern Terminal Complex (STK)

This division was not made by chance, for example, Aeroflot is the air traffic monopoly in the Southern Complex (however, this does not mean the absence of other airlines).

STC consists of three interconnected terminals:

  1. D (D).
  2. E (E).
  3. F (F).

The layout of the terminals is shown below.

STK is the center of two buildings - B (B) and A (A), previously they also included terminal C ©, but at the moment it is under reconstruction, like terminal B before.

Terminal D map is considered the busiest, as the building consists of three main and one basement floor.

The first floor is the arrivals area, which is divided between international and domestic flights.

If you are facing the building, on the right side they meet passengers who have arrived from abroad, but on the left, those who have used the services of domestic flights.

In addition to the welcoming areas, the building on the ground floor houses several cafes, souvenir shops, taxi, hotel and information desks (standard Moscow set).

The second floor, or more correctly the second tier, is a kind of transition zone, with an abundance of premium and economy class lounges, a mother and child room, and toilets. It will be easy for a passenger to find where a toilet or a luxury lounge should be located; an abundance of signs will not let you get lost.

You can go up to the second floor by escalator or elevator.

Departure is carried out on the third floor, of course, the boarding gate is fenced off from the check-in area by customs and passport (for domestic flights only passport) controls and the passenger screening area.

If you stand facing the check-in counters, domestic flights are on the left, and international flights are in the center.

The floor plan is shown below.

As for parking, there is a fifteen-minute express zone in front of the entrance to the building, and you can leave your car there absolutely free of charge. However, don't fall for this trick. Traffic at the airport is slow and dense (Moscow is a big city, and the region is even larger, there are a lot of departing and arriving people). In this regard, you will spend 15 minutes only to get to the point of unloading (loading) of passengers as quickly as possible (as far as possible) and leave the airport.

Terminal E

The closest to the terminal D - E, it is connected to it by a covered passage, but it also has a central entrance where you can drive up by car.
The building has three floors, which is somewhat reminiscent of Terminal D. So, the arrivals area is located on the first floor. The main differences start above, the boarding gate and check-in counters are spaced on different floors (second floor - check-in, third floor - boarding). For the convenience of passengers, the building is equipped with a huge number of signs that should show how to get to a particular place. So, to paraphrase a well-known French phrase - look for an index ...

Terminal F

The location of terminal F is convenient in terms of parking. A huge number of parking lots allows you to leave vehicles near the entrance to the building.

Nominally, this is the largest building, however, in terms of passenger traffic, it is less than D, since it receives and sends much fewer passengers.

There are five floors in the building:

  • the first is the arrival hall;
  • the second is the registration area;
  • third - gates;
  • the fourth is a zone for eating (a restaurant and a dining room are located here);
  • the fifth is the Museum of the History of Sheremetyevo Airport.

In general, this terminal was built specifically for the Olympics and was originally prepared to receive foreign guests. Here is one of the largest VIP halls, the interior entourage is striking in its splendor.

An interesting point - there is a so-called sterile zone in STC, and if a person has passed registration and passport control, he can move absolutely freely between the three terminals within the zone. And this is a huge number of shops, cafes and one of the largest Duty Free zones.

North Terminal Complex

This is a relatively new complex, but to be completely accurate, its updated version. Thus, the development of STP is carried out through the reconstruction of terminals, which, according to their technical and external features (both outside and inside), are obsolete.

The structure of STK includes terminals:

Which were originally designed for the transportation of premium segment passengers, but later the plans changed and Terminal B was given over to domestic flights, and with the rest everything remained the same as before.

The STK airfield, according to the builders' idea, after the opening of all terminals by 2030 will be able to serve up to 40 million passengers a year.

Terminal A

Designed to serve passengers of business and charter flights, it additionally assumed the burden of servicing flights that Terminal C should accept (closed for reconstruction).

The best option is to study the airport map on the official website -

The building has four floors:

  1. The first is the arrivals hall.
  2. The second is the check-in area for departing passengers.
  3. The third and fourth are the gates and the largest Duty Free in Europe.

Terminal B

This is the newest terminal on the territory of Sheremetyevo, as it opened in 2018. Designed for the reception and departure of passengers promoting domestic tourism. Almost all domestic flights, which are still scattered throughout the complex, will be transferred here. This was done to streamline passenger traffic and eliminate the confusion that often arises (according to Yandex and Google, there are frequent cases of being late for a flight due to problems with transport accessibility).

Now this problem has been solved, Sheremetyevo has opened its own metro line. True, it is impossible to call it a full-fledged subway, but nevertheless, this is a big step forward.

The metro station is located close to the airport terminal (the aeroexpress train departs from here to the Belorussky railway station). Between terminals D and E, and there is a train to terminal B.

Terminal B has two floors:

  • the first is the check-in and arrival area;
  • the second is the departure zone.

Terminal C

Currently closed for renovation, passenger access is limited.

How to get there

It is better to get to Sheremetyevo International Airport by public transport, since there are no problems with Aeroexpress trains for a long time. Upon arrival at the destination in SVO, thanks to well-developed logistics, the passenger will be able to get to any point of the STC or STK in a maximum of 20 minutes, although the distance there is decent, but there is free transport.

Driving directions to Sheremetyevo airport changed
Transit is also easy.

In terms of passenger traffic, it is the second after Domodedovo from Moscow airports. It is of international importance. Every day, thousands of Russians and foreigners are attracted to its services. The airport has five terminals: B, C, D, E and F. Moreover, terminals B and C are located at a distance of 9 km, and terminals D, E and F - 13 km along the Leningrad highway from the Moscow Ring Road. Given the usually tense traffic situation along the Leningradskoye Highway, it is important for everyone departing from Sheremetyevo or meeting arriving people to know how best and faster to get to the airport, in particular to Terminal D.

Consider possible routes and compare their advantages and disadvantages.

(terminal D) by car?

You can get to Terminal D of Sheremetyevo Airport by your own transport along the Leningradskoye Highway (M-10 highway). However, be careful. Parking of personal vehicles on the territory of the arrivals and departures areas of the airport is prohibited. Transport is given a time of 15 minutes from entering the territory through special turnstiles to exit. Any delay beyond this time (rather short given the long length of the airport and high traffic) is punishable by a fine of 500 rubles. for each full or partial hour.

Paid parking is possible in specially allocated places outside the arrivals and departures area. You can leave your car in these parking lots, especially if you are flying away for a short time with a return to the same airport. Free parking after the exit from the Leningrad highway is located a few kilometers from the airport. On it, it is advisable to wait for the arrival of the persons you meet until they call after landing.

The Leningrad highway is usually heavily loaded with transport almost around the clock. Therefore, the route by car must be chosen taking into account possible delays due to traffic jams.

Fortunately, at the end of 2014, a section of the toll highway Moscow - St. Petersburg was put into operation, the fare for which will be taken from the summer of 2015. But using this route, you can significantly reduce the travel time by car to Sheremetyevo Airport.

Route from the metro station "Planernaya"

How to get to Sheremetyevo (terminal D) by bus from the Planernaya metro station?

This is the cheapest way to get to the airport. The fare is the same as in a regular Moscow bus. The disadvantage is that the travel time when following the bus significantly depends on the traffic situation.

From the Planernaya metro station (there is only one exit, it is better to take the first carriage from the center) to Sheremetyevo Airport there is a bus 817 and a minibus 948 (it costs 70 rubles). Boarding the bus and the minibus is carried out through the transport hub near the metro exit. Bus and minibus departure schedules are somewhat different. Both the bus and the minibus go first to terminal B, then to E and F, and only then to terminal D.

Route from the metro station "Rechnoy Vokzal"

How to get to Sheremetyevo (terminal D) from the River Station?

From the Rechnoy Vokzal metro station (when traveling from the center, exit from the last car) you can get to Sheremetyevo by express bus No. 851E, which goes first to terminals B, E and F, and then to the terminal D you are interested in. -Express about 20 minutes, travel time 50 minutes. and more, depending on the situation on the roads.

You can also follow bus number 851, which follows the same route, but takes 20 minutes more travel time. You can also use the services of fixed-route taxis 949 and 200M with a similar route. The stop is located on Festivalnaya Street on the opposite side from the metro exit. The fare is 70 rubles.

The disadvantage is the same as when following from the Planernaya metro station.

How to get to Sheremetyevo (terminal D) by Aeroexpress?

A convenient way to get to Terminal D of Sheremetyevo Airport is the Aeroexpress train from the Belorussky railway station. The disadvantages of this method include a higher cost compared to a bus or fixed-route taxi.

We list the advantages of this method.

Firstly, the travel time does not depend on the situation on the roads and weather conditions and is only 35 minutes.

Secondly, check-in for a flight can be done right in the building of the Belorussky railway station, while you can immediately check in and check in your luggage so that you don’t have to worry about it right up to the airport of arrival. If necessary, you can pay for excess baggage at the ticket office of the station.

Thirdly, the Aeroexpress train departs from the Belorussky railway station, as a rule, every half an hour from 06:00 to 24:00 daily.

Fourthly, Aeroexpress has a business-class car with 24 seats, which provides passengers with additional services (higher service comfort, wireless Internet access, soft drinks), the cost of which is included in the cost of Aeroexpress tickets. This car is located at the head or tail of the train and is marked with the appropriate inscriptions in Russian and English.

Travel by Aeroexpress and its business class carriage is issued at Aeroexpress ticket offices located at Belorussky Railway Station and Sheremetyevo Airport. In addition, you can book a ticket up to 15 days before the train's departure by calling a free phone for Russia: 8-800-700-33-77 (Aeroexpress company). In case of a late flight, there is the possibility of reissuing a ticket, subject to availability, for another time.

Aeroexpress arrives at the comfortable railway terminal of Sheremetyevo Airport, located near Terminal D. It takes about 5 minutes to walk from the railway terminal to Terminal D.

Arriving at the airport terminal, Aeroexpress passengers immediately proceed to the counter marked "Passengers without luggage", and then, after a personal inspection, directly to board the aircraft. Baggage is delivered to the aircraft without the intervention of passengers.

The cost of an Aeroexpress ticket for an adult is 340 rubles. (in a business class carriage - 900 rubles), for children 5-7 years old - 110 rubles; children under 5 years old follow for free. Attention: to confirm the age of children, you must have their birth certificate with you.

There is a "Family" tariff (if two adults and up to three children under the age of 12 follow) costing 700 rubles.

If you need to get to terminals B and C, you can use special airport buses, the departure of which is coordinated with the arrival time of the Aeroexpress. Boarding buses is carried out from the 1st floor of terminal E. Travel on the bus is free for persons with air tickets or printed itinerary receipts. When boarding the bus, a screening is carried out, as at the entrance to the airport. Travel time is about 20 minutes. In addition, you can use the services of fixed-route taxis 20 and buses 817 or 851 (for the appropriate price).

Express train from Savelovsky railway station

There is another way to get to terminal D of Sheremetyevo by rail: from Savelovsky railway station by express train to Lobnya station, then to terminal B by fixed-route taxi No. 21 and airport bus to the destination of the trip. Advantages of the method - cheaper than Aeroexpress (the cost of a full express ticket is 130 rubles, a child ticket is 33 rubles), quite fast (25 minutes by express, 20 minutes by minibus and another 20 minutes by internal bus) and is little dependent on traffic . But you have to follow the goal with two transfers, and the level of comfort is much lower.

Route by taxi

Consider how to get to Sheremetyevo (terminal D) by taxi.

The advantages of using a taxi are convenience and lack of transfers, which is especially important if you have heavy and bulky luggage. Cons - high cost and dependence on traffic.

Any taxi company will be happy to provide you with a taxi with the necessary capacity for a trip to the airport. Prices are naturally much higher than other public transport. But in different companies the prices are different and you can, after spending some time searching the Internet and telephone conversations, choose the option that suits you. Usually, smaller companies offer a lower price, mainly serving relatively small areas of Moscow and the Moscow region, where they have their own taxi fleet.

Taxis can also be ordered from terminal dispatchers at a fixed (rather high) price, agreed by the airport administration with accredited transportation companies.

Thus, after reading this article, you can choose the best route and transport for yourself, how to get to Sheremetyevo Terminal D.

If you are going on a flight, it is better (in terms of guaranteed arrival time at the airport and maximum comfort) to use the Aeroexpress services from the Belorussky railway station.

If you are escorted or you meet arriving persons, then you can choose a personal car (taking into account traffic jams on Leningradskoye Shosse and the limited free time spent at the airport), as well as go by bus or minibuses from the Rechnoy Vokzal or Planernaya metro stations (again providing an appropriate time reserve for possible delays due to traffic jams on the route).

If you are carrying bulky luggage, you can afford the high cost of the trip and there is sufficient time, then it is better to choose a taxi.

Sheremetyevo- one of the largest airports in Moscow. The capacity of the air complex allows serving up to forty million passengers a year. This is the number of people who visited the site in 2017.

Four operating terminals (A, D, F, E) are located on an area of five hundred thousand square meters, the building of the fifth terminal (terminal B) is under reconstruction. If you look at the general scheme of objects, you can see that terminal A is located much further from the others. And terminals E, F, D and the Aeroexpress railway station are connected by pedestrian corridors and are called the “South Terminal Complex”.
