Cooking chicken wings in honey and soy sauce will consist of several stages. First of all, you need to prepare the chicken wings, then make the sauce and marinate them in it. The final stage is the baking of ready-made chicken wings. Wash chicken wings with cold water. Check them for small feathers. If feathers are found, pluck them out with your hands or tweezers. After that, cut each chicken wing with a knife along the shoulder joint.

We proceed to the preparation of honey-soy sauce. Pour soy sauce into a bowl.

Pour in the spices.

Pour in the olive oil.

For spiciness and color, add ketchup or tomato sauce. In this recipe, I used Chili ketchup, which made the chicken wings spicy and savory.

Add honey.

To prepare such a dish, designed for eight servings, we need the following products: one and a half kilograms of wings, three tablespoons of corn starch and sesame seeds, one teaspoon of grated ginger and salt, 60 milliliters of soy sauce, 180 milliliters of honey, 80 milliliters of lemon juice , 120 grams of sugar, a pinch of black pepper and vegetable oil for frying in a pan.

To begin with, we wash the wings, dry them and cut them into two parts. We're preparing the sauce. To do this, take a small saucepan and mix honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, sugar, starch, spices and salt in it. Put on fire and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened. Pour a sufficient amount of vegetable oil into the pan, heat it up and fry the wings for eight minutes, turning over. Then transfer them to paper towels to remove excess oil. Most people, myself included, are used to cooking whole chicken wings. But today is not the case. We need to put the chicken wings in order, that is, divide them into fragments. In total, each wing is cut into 3 parts (cut between the joints). The photo shows that two parts out of three are exactly suitable for cooking, and the third part (the smallest) is a piece of bone covered with leather. This smallest part will not go into the dish.

Chop all the wings and put them in a bowl.


Add a teaspoon of salt and a third of a teaspoon of ground black pepper to a bowl of chicken wings. We don't need any other spices. Mix the wings with salt thoroughly with your hands.


We shift our chicken wings to a baking sheet. For this purpose, I have a rectangular baking dish plus a lid from it. Just fit all the wings.

We send a baking sheet with wings (or forms with wings) to an oven preheated to 200 degrees and bake for about 40 minutes until a barely distinguishable golden crust. If you send the wings to an unheated oven, then add additional warm-up time to the 40 minutes.

Step 4: Cook the Wings in Honey.



In a bowl with chicken wings, pour turmeric, paprika, black pepper and salt to taste. Mix thoroughly with clean hands. Then pour liquid honey here and, using a tablespoon, mix everything again until the sweet component evenly covers the surface of the meat. Leave the chicken wings aside to marinate for 30 minutes.


After the allotted time, turn on the oven and heat it up to a temperature 200 °С. Put the wings on a baking sheet and put in the oven to bake for 30 minutes. Important: at the same time, after 15 minutes, using kitchen tacks, we take out the container from the oven, and turn the meat over to the other side so that it can be evenly covered with a golden crust on all sides. We put the dish back and continue cooking until the end of the appointed time. After that, turn off the burner in the oven, and take out the baking sheet and set it aside. Everything, the wings in honey are ready!

Step 5: serve the wings in honey.



With the help of kitchen tongs, we transfer the still hot wings in honey to a special flat plate and serve to the dining table. If desired, the meat can be sprinkled with freshly squeezed lemon juice.
