How to make a chandelier from a kayak. DIY chandelier - instructions for making and a master class on creating designer models

You always want to decorate your house, and when there are funds for this, then you can buy designer things. But after all, any exclusive thing is first made by the hands of a master, and then it can only be done by hand.

Well, if one person has already done it, then we can repeat it. So, I propose not to spend money on goods in the store, but to make a chandelier with your own hands and thereby create a unique flavor in your home.

I have several friends who, horrified by the price tags in the store for lighting fixtures, created the chandelier themselves. And it turned out beautifully. A friend created a lamp for the nursery from threads, and a friend created two lighting fixtures from wooden planks. And after all, you will not immediately realize that this is a hand-made, it looks quite original and interesting.

But masterpieces can be created from absolutely everything, even from trash.

Have you seen how in the famous TV shows they create lamps from broken saucers or spoons with forks, and there are also from graters?

It's absurd, but even if you can make something digestible out of this, then, with some imagination and picking up prettier materials, you can do everything yourself.

I found a few ideas that I also liked, but I will express my opinion a little later.

Ideas from improvised materials

Still, many are given to see the beauty in the environment. Just think what craftsmen do from wire, paper, or even from a sewer pipe.

Paper also makes masterpieces, such as circles of white paper or butterflies. And everything is done simply.

Many identical paper blanks are made, which are sewn together.

And then attached to the frame.

Here are the results of such a technology for making a paper chandelier in the photo, borrowed from Facebook. But here the blanks are not sewn together, but glued together. I think the stitched ones look neater.

Well, if you have a tea set lying around, then you can also build a beautiful lamp for the dacha.

Here, the main thing is to carefully cut the bottom of the cups so that they do not crack or burst.

Chandelier made of wood and wooden planks

But with the help of wooden boards you can make a very modern and beautiful chandelier. After all, the texture of the tree is very noble and looks interesting in different color combinations.

You can simply cover the bar with oil, which will give it a shade of honey with beautiful natural veins, or you can paint it in wenge color. The main thing is to varnish it to make it more convenient to take care of the chandelier.

We will need:

  • eight sticks,
  • Wood oil or varnish,
  • A couple of cartridges
  • Frosted glass.

We take our bars, cover them with oil and varnish and let dry.

We assemble the blanks and fasten them with bolts.

We fix the cartridges and hide the cord.

We insert frosted glass on the front side and hang it by screwing in the light bulbs in advance.

The light is diffused and soft.

Not everyone knows where to get frosted glass, so this version of the chandelier can be made easier.

For example, attaching ceiling lights to the frame. As in the photo.

Well, for a snack, there is another version of the chandelier, which, by the way, is also made by hand!

So do not say that this is not possible and a beautiful thing cannot be obtained at home. I am convinced otherwise.

Making a lamp out of plastic bottles

A plastic bottle and disposable tableware can also turn into a wonderful chandelier. The main thing is to show a little imagination. But the designers have already done a lot for us, so I present a version of the master class made of plastic.

We will need:

  • three liter bottle,
  • Plastic disposable spoons
  • Cartridge,
  • Energy saving lamp,
  • Glue gun.

We will make the frame of the chandelier from a bottle, cutting off its base to get a hole at the bottom.

Now we are making a lot of blanks, for this we cut off the handle of the spoon, we will use only its base.

And on the glue gun we begin to glue the base of the spoons to the bottle.

You need to start from the bottom. Each next layer removes all the inaccuracies of the lower one.

When you have collected layer by layer, then the turn of the cartridge will come.

We insert only an energy-saving light bulb into it so that the plastic does not melt.

And hang it from the ceiling.

You can use only plastic bottoms from containers for the chandelier, fastening them together, as shown in the photo.

And it is better when all the bottles are the same shade and transparent.

And also use plastic plates, creating beauty, can you imagine? The only negative is that such a chandelier will still give little light and it will be difficult for her to illuminate a fifteen-square room.

This option is not the main lighting or for use in small rooms.

A ball of thread in the children's room (step by step instructions)

But it is also possible to decorate and illuminate the children's room with a home-made chandelier made from natural material - from threads or a tourniquet. Well, I'm still for environmental friendliness.

We will need:

  • threads,
  • Needle,
  • Petrolatum,
  • PVA glue,
  • Balloon,
  • Plafond.

First, inflate the balloon of the desired size and tie it.

After that, we make a small hole in the bottle with glue with a knife, thread a thread into the needle and pierce the bottle with glue with it and bring it out into the hole. So we will have a thread completely wetted with glue.

And we begin to wind the sticky thread around the ball until it becomes as dense as you would like.

Now you need to dry the glue, so we hang the ball and leave it for twelve hours.

After drying, you need to take a needle, pierce the ball. It will either deflate or burst.

We take a cartridge and circle its dimensions on the ceiling with a marker, cut a hole with scissors. And at the bottom we also make a hole for further connection of the lamp.

But you can wrap the cartridge with wire or hem it with thread.

By the way, you can use the same technology to create square lamps and lampshades.

You will need all the same materials, only instead of a thread we use a tourniquet.

  1. We select a box of the required size, fit it with cling film and a tourniquet soaked in glue, fit the box in any order to the desired density.
  2. Day this design dries. After the tourniquet acquires its color, we begin to pull out the box from the bottom.
  3. Now we insert the ceiling into the holder and hang it from the ceiling.

Both cardboard and a water hose are used to make a chandelier, but time and imagination are needed everywhere.

Here are some cardboard ideas.

I really liked many options, but still I prefer transparent glass in the chandelier. Removed, washed and a lot of light. But you need to work with glass skillfully, so I didn’t write here the process of making a complex version of a lighting fixture.

And wooden options add color to rustic-style interiors or.

In order for the kitchen to sparkle with new colors, many are wondering how to make a chandelier in the kitchen with their own hands? The light source is an important attribute in any room. It can both decorate a room and bring dissonance into the interior space. Often, when the finishing work is completed, the only thing left is the selection of a lamp.

A handmade chandelier will look original and unusual in the kitchen.

But sometimes, the search for a suitable option turns into a real quest, which only a few can pass. The most resourceful go the other way - they try themselves in hand made art. They are trying to make a chandelier with their own hands. This is an opportunity to realize all your creative ideas and create a completely unique copy that will perfectly complement the design idea. In fact, it is not at all difficult if you follow the instructions and stock up on the right tools.

Master class No. 1 (idea with dishes)

This is one of the easiest ways to decorate a kitchen. The set of necessary materials is minimal, and it will also take a little time to manufacture. It is necessary to beat the theme of dishes with the main item that is in any kitchen - with a mug. On the ceiling, it will look unusual and very harmonious.

So, for work you need to take:

A homemade mug chandelier is one of the easiest ways to decorate your kitchen.

  1. A fairly large mug. It is better to choose a color for built-in furniture or textiles. You can choose porcelain, ceramic or glass (in this case, the room will be filled with subdued, diffused light).
  2. Base for a lamp with a tube and a thread at the end and the lamp itself.
  3. A piece of wire (it should be as long as it is planned to lower the light source). It is better to take copper (this material is stronger than aluminum, does not oxidize and conducts current better) with a cross section of 2x1.5.
  4. A screwdriver and a tile pen (if the cup is ceramic) or a glass nozzle (if the mug is glass).

How to make a chandelier:

  • at the bottom of the cup you need to mark the middle;
  • drill a hole a little thicker than the tube on the base;
  • connect the wire to the base;
  • pass the tube from the base into the hole in the cup;
  • fix the structure with a bolt;
  • an impromptu lamp is ready.

Master class number 2 (continuing the theme of kitchen utensils)

Cutlery on the ceiling. And what? Very logical and conceptual! The theme is traceable in every detail. This method of making a homemade lamp in the dining area is one of the most budgetary. You won't have to spend much. But the result will be unusual. In addition, if you get bored quickly, you can always replace it without harm to your wallet.

A chandelier can be made by gluing spoons around a bottle.

Materials will need a minimum:

  • 5 plastic bottle, which will serve as a frame for a future lamp in the kitchen;
  • plastic disposable spoons, a large number of these parts will be needed;
  • glue, and, of course, a cartridge with a light bulb and an electrical wire.

And the work is as follows:

It is necessary to cut off the bottom of the future lampshade (bottle).

Start gluing the spoons from the bottom, after leaving only the deep part, the handles will not come in handy.

Parts of the spoons must be attached to the walls with the convex side outward, tightly to each other. The next layer must be fixed like this: new parts should be in the gaps between the lower tier - in a checkerboard pattern. And so floor after floor.

So, very quickly you can reach the base of the lamp. The neck will serve them. In diameter, it is ideal for passing a base through it. By the way, it can be decorated using the same improvised materials, but with a slightly different technology. Glue scoops to each other in a circle (they will resemble a wreath). Put this wheel design on top of the light source. So everything you need will be hidden under the lampshade.

Looks original, done quickly. In addition, the chandelier can be of any color (not necessarily white). Let her repeat the color motifs of the room. For painting, you can take an aerosol to apply the paint evenly. And you can, on the contrary, paint with spots - a kind of aesthetic move.

Master class number 3 (idea with a sphere)

A do-it-yourself chandelier made of threads is well suited for a high-tech kitchen.

If you want simple geometric shapes in the kitchen, you can choose a round lamp. It is suitable for both classic interiors and high-tech style. Making such a light source is easy. The basic element for it can be an old inflatable or rubber children's ball, or you can just take and inflate the ball. And then, everything is simple.

You need to stock up on a skein of thread (linen will look natural and environmentally friendly).

Buy PVA glue (it will take about a kilogram) or transparent construction glue, base, lamp, wire.

At the top of the ball or ball, it is better to immediately mark the hole for the cartridge. After that, attach the end of the thread with tape and start wrapping the sphere arbitrarily at different intervals. The denser the threads are wound, the less light will be transmitted. But too fragile frame should not be done.

Periodically, you need to moisten the threads with glue with a brush. Without regret, generously blot.

Then leave the future chandelier to dry. And then pierce the ball and pull it out through the hole provided.

All that remains is to thread the base with the lamp into the hole and connect the chandelier to the network.

By the way, lovers of everything natural can use twigs, sticks, knots instead of threads. They can be collected in the forest and practically do not spend money on the purchase of materials. Details will simply need to be cleaned of debris and varnished.

The principle of operation is the same: paste over the already familiar ball with pieces of wood. It is advised to fasten them together with wood glue.

Master class No. 4 (the second life of an old lamp)

You can either create a lampshade for a future lamp from scratch or reanimate an obsolete little thing. Surely, many at home or in the country have piles of rubbish that they no longer want to store, but there is still not enough determination to throw it away. If you have imagination and a little improvised means, you can realize any idea.

What are good things from the past? They are real centenarians, since their age is not yet over. They were made from fairly durable materials. Plus - these things with their own history, sometimes - a real family heirloom. Because now vintage style is in fashion, then restoring a lamp forgotten in the attic or in the closet is a great way to create a designer element of decor, to the surprise of guests.

With the help of paints, glue and imagination, you can make a beautiful chandelier in the kitchen from an old lamp.

To prepare such a chandelier you will need:

  • lampshade from an old lamp (any shape and any material);
  • leg with a cartridge from an unnecessary chandelier;
  • paint and a regular kitchen sponge for washing dishes (useful instead of a brush);
  • paint of the desired color (it is better to take moisture resistant, because in the kitchen there are often fumes and temperature changes);
  • glue (you can take wallpaper or regular PVA);
  • mounting glue, any fabric - for decorating the ceiling;
  • small details (flowers, berries, beads, leaves - anything) - to decorate it.

Simple instruction:

  1. Worn parts need to be put in order. Remove rust from the leg. Clean the base of the lamp with sandpaper (if it is metal) or wash it (if it is plastic).
  2. Dilute the glue (if you have to work with wallpaper).
  3. The fabric can be cut into pieces so that it gets wet better and faster in the glue.
  4. Matter needs to be pasted over the ceiling from the outside and from the inside. Air bubbles can be expelled, or you can leave it like that, with folds. Let the structure dry.
  5. When the fabric shell is dry, it needs to be dyed. For this, a sponge prepared in advance is just useful. It is necessary to give the desired color from all sides. It is better to paint over several times - for saturation.
  6. Now the lamp can be connected to the leg, which will be attached to the ceiling.
  7. Then comes the decorating process. Mounting glue (preferably transparent) is useful for gluing decorative parts. Homemade chandelier can be anything: reminiscent of a basket of flowers or fruit; a lawn with insects or surprise with an abstract pattern, geometric ornament, in a word, it all depends on the imagination.

Do-it-yourself chandeliers for the kitchen are a winning option to decorate the space, make your kitchen different from everyone else - bright, creative, original!

Of course, I didn’t throw out the leg and, with the thought “everything will do on the farm,” I hid it until the occasion :)
Here she is:

The case has come, we needed a chandelier in the kitchen. I didn’t like anything suitable in the stores, and then such a “miracle” falls into my hands :) (They gave it away just to make something).

Inside view:

I don't know how to call it prettier, but this thing used to hang like a lamp in a factory or something.
And then the thought came to me, to connect my leg with this lamp, so that we get a chandelier. I cut off all unnecessary wires from the lamp and removed the fasteners.

They fit together so perfectly that I decided to “dance” from this :)
From the inside, the leg latches clings to the ceiling itself.

Since our kitchen is in a yellow-green color scheme with gold fittings, we make a chandelier to match the kitchen.
So let's get started.
To prepare for the decor of the chandelier, we need:
1. Sandpaper (I used not the roughest).
2. Primer on the old paint (this is optional, it dries for 24 hours, if you wish - you can apply it, I didn’t apply it, everything also keeps perfectly without it). Photo just in case anyone is interested:

3. The most common sponge for painting the surface of the chandelier.
4. Paint (I have a matte paint that was used for the walls when renovating the kitchen).

5. Wallpaper glue (in my case). I used it because now we have it in abundance. You can use PVA glue or something suitable for gluing fabric to metal.
6. Bowl for glue.
7. Glue for gluing decorative elements (the one I chose is initially white, after drying it becomes transparent).
The photo shows an example of wallpaper glue and the one with which I glued the decor:

For decoration we need:

1. White fabric (I have cotton, you can use another one).
2. Metallized tape.
3. Artificial leaves.
4. Wooden ladybugs (mine are Velcro).
5. Half beads (I have a diameter of 6mm).
6. Artificial flowers (in this case, latex callas).
7. Stamens for flowers.
Let's get to work.
First we need to clean the surface of the lamp with sandpaper.

Next, cover it with a primer on the old paint (again, if desired).
After the primer has completely dried (24 hours), you can start gluing our lamp with a cloth. I had an idea to make folds out of fabric.
We dilute the glue in the right proportion (it took me about 600 ml of diluted glue) and wet the fabric well in it. It is better to cut the fabric into shreds, so it is more convenient to form folds.

Next, lay out the fabric on the lamp:

We wrap the part of the fabric that remains free inside, since we glue the entire lamp both outside and inside.

After gluing, this is the picture:

Air bubbles are driven out by hand, smoothing the surface.
Next, let it dry. You can do it this way (I put the lamp on mounting foam).

And you can speed up the process and it will take no more than 1 hour to dry :)
We put our lamp in the oven, on the grate. I do not advise on a baking sheet, otherwise it will not dry out from the inside.
We heat the oven to 70-80 degrees and keep the lamp there for about 10 minutes, then turn off the oven, open it slightly and wait another 10 minutes. I got a total of 3 such approaches.
After drying, the lamp looks like this:

As long as she's not attractive at all :)
In the process of gluing with a cloth, the upper hole where the leg is attached closed, so it needs to be cut:

Everything is ready for the next step - painting.

Do not forget to cover the table so as not to get dirty.
And we start with a sponge, with blotting movements, apply paint to the entire surface (from the inside too).

Fully painted lamp:

The paint I used takes 1 hour to dry. After the first layer has dried, cover the lamp with another layer, because. in some places, however, there were traces of rust. We are waiting for complete drying.
Don't forget to paint the bottom of the leg the same color so that it doesn't stand out in the overall picture.

After the paint has dried, we connect the leg with the lamp.

We just need to add decor :)
I placed the whole composition on one side, you can place the decoration to your liking if you wish.
First, glue the leaves:

Then glue the stamens. To do this, fold them in half. I used 2 strands of yellow and green:

Then flowers.
Before gluing them, we cut off the leg, leaving 3-4 mm from the flower and bend it onto the “back”:

We do not regret Clay.
Now let's add ladybugs. I removed the Velcro from them and glued them on the same glue:

Decorate with ribbons (glue them under the leaves):

The final touch is half beads. We take them quite a bit so as not to overload the overall picture. I glued 9 pieces (3 pieces each in three places):

Final result:

The idea of creating author's furniture or decor items with one's own hand has always enjoyed special recognition. Have you ever tried to make something interesting, like a chandelier? At first glance, it seems that nothing worthy will come of this venture, and this is the privilege of designers. Moreover, you need to spend a lot of time, buy the necessary materials, and have straight arms, otherwise the result will be disastrous. But this is only at first glance. In fact, from absolutely any improvised or dusty things in the attic, you can create magnificent beauty. And you don't need to be a great master. It will take only a little ingenuity, imagination, free time - and the chandelier, made with your own hands, is ready.

Fluttering tenderness

A great option for a "pen test" is a chandelier made of butterflies. It is very easy to make it with your own hands, and if you apply your imagination and change the idea a little, the result can exceed your wildest expectations. So let's get started.

What is required for this

We can say that all you need is nothing:

The base of the chandelier itself with a cartridge and a light bulb (quite suitable from the old one), if desired, it can be repainted in a suitable color;

The frame for the lampshade, you can take from the old chandelier or use a hoop from the hoop;

Pieces of tulle and ribbons or fabric, the main thing is that the color scheme is harmonious;

Lighter, fishing line and hot gun (matches, strong threads, glue);

Butterflies can be cut out of fabric, thick paper, plastic, in general, from any material that can be suitable for these purposes and is available;

Figured hole punch for butterflies, in the absence of it, you can use scissors.

Putting this miracle together

First of all, we wrap the hoop with tape, fixing it on the inside with glue, and decorate it. Cut a ribbon of a different color into small pieces and tie a hoop around them in a circle, making indents. Instead of shreds of ribbons, you can tie small neat bows, as your fantasy tells you. We singe the edges of the ribbons with a lighter so that the threads do not unravel. In the free spaces between the bows (patches) we knit pieces of tulle. We fasten four equal strips of tulle or ribbons to the hoop, they will hold our future lampshade based on the chandelier. Tie them together with a bow at the top.

Let's get to the butterflies. They can be cut into a variety of shapes and sizes. We use multi-colored materials, and, if they allow, we give the butterflies a shape and relief. They can be painted or covered with sparkles.

It is better to unwind and align the fishing line beforehand so that it does not gather in curls. Place a piece of fishing line on the table and glue butterflies to it with a hot gun. The distance can be completely different. You can thread beads between the butterflies themselves for more beauty and also secure them with glue. Let the glue dry.

Tie ready-made cuts of fishing line with butterflies to a previously prepared hoop. You can evaluate the overall result and add their number as desired. Butterflies can be placed both at the same level and along the entire length of the fishing line.

In our case, a chandelier consists of three shades. With your own hands, you can arrange the top mount, or you can buy the right one. It should hide all wire connections, set the distance and firmly fix on the ceiling.

It remains only to put all the details together. We connect the wires, fix the shades and ... enjoy the job well done!

It will take a lot of time, but it's worth it, believe me.

Below is another lovely paper chandelier option. Can you tell me where to buy one? Unless you do it yourself.

How to make this beauty?

We need a paper lantern, a glue gun, and coffee filters. Here they will need a lot, almost 400 pieces go to one such chandelier.

A beautiful airy and fluffy ceiling is ready!

A little bit of nature

DIY chandelier made of wood. Think it's difficult? Not at all. Let's look further.

materials

Here you will need:

Frame from an old chandelier;

Vine twigs and willow vine;

Twine, wire cutters and spray paint.

front work

We select grape rods that are suitable in size, clean them from everything superfluous and fasten them to the frame of the chandelier with twine. Each branch should smoothly adjoin the bends of the metal, braiding it, and be well fixed.

Use wicker twigs to wrap the twine fixing points. They are more flexible and they can close all difficult places. Chandelier made of wood with your own hands is almost ready, it remains only to paint. The color scheme is very different, from white to blood red.

Another interesting option. A large vine is used. One has only to shape and weave it into a ball. The vine may not be too pliable, you will have to wet it well and only then form a sphere. In this position, it will have to dry. Carefully fix each lozenge, set the tone for the frame of the chandelier. The work is not for one day, but the result is worth it, insanely beautiful.

With burgundy flavor

What do you do with empty wine bottles, probably throw them away? But in vain. They can make an original bottle chandelier. It is quite easy to make it with your own hands. You only need to stock up on empty containers, preferably not made of too dark glass (otherwise the lighting will be dim), a glass cutter, wires and cartridges. Now we will tell you about how such a chandelier is made with your own hands.

Master class with bottles

First, rinse the bottles well and get rid of the labels. After you need to cut off the bottom. We need only the top, it will be the ceiling. Draw a straight line with a glass cutter, walk along it, tapping lightly with a hammer. After the bottom can be repulsed. Process the edges of the cut, it is better if they do not remain sharp. Place the wire inside the bottle and connect the cartridge. Screw in the light bulb. Ready!

You can use several bottles on the same level or different, match them by glass color or shape. Your imagination - the green light!

However, not only glass bottles can go into business. The plastic ones are just as good for this role. A little effort - and a chandelier with your own hands will be made! You only have to prepare the material, the more bottles you collect, the better. They can be of different shapes, sizes and colors. Cut off the lower parts, connect them together with a fishing line and attach to the base. Voila! And the best part is it's absolutely free.

Ideas for creating such unusual things are very interesting. You can invent, supplement and create from absolutely everything. A field for activity can be not only chandeliers, but also ceiling lamps for floor, table lamps and even sconces. They can be changed completely or improved with small additions that will bring harmony to the interior and create even more comfort. Inspired by such ideas, you can make a beautiful little thing not only for yourself, but also as a gift to a loved one.

Fantasize, search and try, and you will certainly succeed. Perhaps you will come up with something special, author's. You can craft not only beautiful, but also useful things, such as, for example, the popular Chizhevsky chandelier. With your own hands, you can make simple, but really worthwhile products. Good luck in your endeavors!

The originality of the interior design of a kitchen, bedroom or any other room can be determined by the presence of even a small accessory, the main thing is that it be rare or exclusive. It can be a do-it-yourself photo frame, a candlestick, a table for a phone, a floor vase, a lamp or a chandelier.

There are enough options for the execution of an unusual lamp for a living room or kitchen, you just have to turn on your imagination and it doesn’t matter if your fantasy doesn’t tell you anything. You can use the step-by-step instructions for making any model you like by studying the master class. Materials for making an unusual accessory can be found even without leaving your own home.

So, let's begin…

Homemade chandeliers or lamps may vary in materials or manufacturing principle. You can make a chandelier out of anything and for this it is not necessary to go to the nearest shopping mall, such materials can be found at home:

  • paper;
  • threads;
  • disks;
  • disposable tableware;
  • plastic bottles;
  • barbecue sticks;
  • hangers;
  • newspapers and glue;
  • cardboard;
  • felt hats and more.

The choice of material may completely depend on your imagination or the future model of the lamp - on the availability of certain materials.

You can make a lamp, chandelier or ceiling lamp in different ways:

  • in the technique of origami or papier-mâché;
  • by carving or embossing;
  • with the help of weaving or threading;
  • in the technique of crochet or macrame;
  • by connecting identical fragments.

The manufacturing technique will directly depend on the material chosen.

Chandelier made of sticks for shish kebab

Having wooden sticks on hand (ordinary barbecue sticks are ideal), organza ribbons and glue, you can make an original do-it-yourself ceiling lamp that will wonderfully decorate the interior of your kitchen if it is decorated in the appropriate style or has some of its details.

Making such a chandelier for the kitchen at home is not difficult:

  1. Sticks are laid out along the perimeter of the square and connected with glue. The lesson is quite painstaking, but an excellent result awaits you. The height of the ceiling will depend on your desire, the height of the ceiling in the room or on the amount of material.
  2. The upper part of the ceiling must be sealed with cut sticks (so that their ends do not protrude), laying them crosswise or parallel, leaving a hole of the required size for the cartridge in the middle.
  3. After the glue dries, you can start decorating the product.
  4. Multi-colored organza ribbons are tied at the protruding ends of the sticks; you should not skimp on their number. Several ribbons can be threaded between the sticks in the corners and in the middle of the product.
  5. You can hang the ceiling on a hook placed on the ceiling of your kitchen using the same tapes, and fix the cartridge in it through the hole left.

Cardboard chandelier

From simple cardboard, you can make an unusual chandelier, which will become an exquisite touch in interior design.

A small master class will show how to make it:

  1. Using a printed stencil, two identical parts are cut out with slots for their connection in the center and connected into a single whole.
  2. If the color of the cardboard is not as desired, the parts are painted before assembling the chandelier.
  3. In order for the chandelier to be assembled firmly, the points of its connection should be duplicated with wire or a strong thread through the holes made in advance.
  4. To the ceiling, the chandelier is mounted on chains through which the power cord is threaded.
  5. Chains and cord are painted to match the chandelier.
  6. The junction of the cord with the cartridge is hidden under a plastic cup, also painted to match the chandelier.

By the same principle, you can make a chandelier out of plastic or hardboard with your own hands. It will be much stronger, but it will be quite difficult to cut parts with scissors, it is better to use a jigsaw.

You can decorate such a chandelier with any elements. For example, paint the flame of candles with glitter varnish, decorate the bowls of candlesticks with sequins or lace. Pendants, rhinestones or fabric flowers would also be appropriate.

Lamp made of laser discs

If there are a lot of laser discs left in the house, which are a pity to throw away, but they are no longer suitable as information carriers, you can make an original chandelier, ceiling lamp or lamp out of them. The design of the accessory will depend only on your imagination, the materials at hand and the number of accumulated disks.

What will be required

To make an original lamp from disks, you will need two round planks of wood of different thicknesses, which are slightly larger in diameter than disks, wooden or metal racks. You also need a fluorescent lamp of the required length, a magnetic starter and the actual disks. Wooden planks can be ordered from a familiar carpenter or cut out with your own hands, racks can be purchased nickel-plated.

How to do

We make a hole in a plate with a large thickness, install a starter with a switch and connect it to the lamp. Next, disks are strung on the lamp in the required quantity, racks are installed around the disks and the upper part is attached.

Thus, old carriers in the form of an original lamp made of disks will serve the owners for a long time.

Chandelier "Birch leaves" from plastic bottles

A chandelier made in the form of leaves will look quite unusual in any interior. How to make it with your own hands - a master class will show you. It is made from ordinary plastic bottles, the color of which can be chosen at your discretion.

Instruction step by step:

  1. Bottles are cut into pieces of any size chosen for future leaves.
  2. Each blank must be shaped like a leaf.
  3. Using a soldering iron with a thick tip and a one-sided bevel, it is necessary to melt the sections of each workpiece so that future leaves look more impressive.
  4. Also, with the edge of the sting, it is necessary to give the workpiece a leaf structure. This should be done very carefully, as you can easily melt a hole in the plastic. A leaf with traced veins and melted sections will look complete.
