How to build a roof on a well with your own hands. We build a house for a well with our own hands - step by step instructions

More recently, any piece of land on which people lived had a well. To this day, they are dug in the plots to provide themselves with water for household needs. They are indispensable in summer cottages, where water is centralized and supplied in limited quantities on a schedule. But even during the construction of a country house and the arrangement of a well, wells do not lose their relevance. By lowering a submersible pump into them, it is convenient to use water for irrigation, especially when the groundwater level is high on the site. It is important not only to protect children and animals by closing it with a lid, but also to give it aesthetics. The article will discuss how to make a head for a well with your own hands.

Why do you need a cap at the well

  • The cap is designed not only to protect households from accidental falling into the well, but also to prevent debris from entering the water.
  • If the well is planned to be operated, and not turned into an art object, then it is necessary to provide a convenient cover and lifting mechanism. Thinking through the project, it is worth considering the ease of use, and not just the design and combination with the surrounding landscape.

  • Well head structures can be closed or open. Their cost will depend not on the type, but on the materials used. But in an open well in winter, water can freeze, so for year-round use it is recommended to build in the form of a closed and insulated house.
  • If desired, the open head of the well can also be made warm. In this case, not only the walls of the well itself are insulated, but also its cover. For this, choosing a moisture-resistant heat-insulating material, such as polystyrene or foam plastic.

Types of material for the head of the well

Traditional and modern finishing materials allow you to create not only functional, but also beautiful wells. They harmoniously fit into any landscape design, becoming its decoration.

  • Stone. This is a laborious and expensive way to finish the well head. But the result is very beautiful and solid. In addition, such a finishing material does not require any maintenance and will remain in its original form for many decades. From stone, you can lay out a whole wall around the well, or just decorate the head of the well with concrete rings. In the second case, the cost will decrease several times, and the appearance will not lose.

  • Wooden. It will fit especially well into the landscape if there are already wooden buildings on the site, for example, a wooden house or a bathhouse. Like stone, wooden heads can be of two types:
    • made of real timber or logs, like the walls of a house;
    • simply sheathed frame with imitation of timber or block house.
    • Regardless of the material chosen, a number of requirements are imposed on the head:
  • Strong and reliable walls. To strengthen them, boards are attached along the upper perimeter, which simultaneously perform the function of an armored belt and a water stand. In addition, they will protect the wooden elements of the cladding from water ingress.
  • The presence of a cover. This will protect the water from debris and insects. And it will protect small children or animals from falling into it. It is convenient if there is a hole for a hose in the lid, then it will not be necessary to keep the hatch open to pump out water using a pump.
  • thermal insulation. It is needed if there is a need to use the well when the temperature is below -20 ° C. If in winter the temperature does not fall below 15 ° C, then there is no need for insulation.
  • Vorotok. Even if the head of the well is needed only for decoration or the water is planned to be pumped out with a submersible pump, it is recommended to provide an operating lifting mechanism. There is always a chance it will come in handy.

The device of the head of the well in the form of a house

Why a well house is needed:

  • it will protect drinking water from dust, foliage, insects, branches and other debris;
  • water will not bloom and evaporate from the summer heat;
  • when using chemicals for spraying in the garden, they will not settle on the well cover and will not fall into the water;
  • on frosty days, the water will not freeze;
  • when creating a beautiful head on the well, it will become a decoration of the site. For this, it is decorated with carved or forged elements, which you can not only do with your own hands, but also buy ready-made ones. And in the decoration, use natural stone and high-quality wood.

Having made a design and created a project based on it, you can get to work.

Required Materials Tools

  • The easiest way to work with wood, besides it is a natural material that will always fit into the garden landscape.
  • Therefore, first of all, you need to purchase the required amount of timber with a section of 50x50 and 100x50 mm.
  • For finishing, an edged board, block house or lining is used.
  • Any roofing material is suitable for the roof, but it is good if it matches the roof on the gazebo or house. The lighter it is, the better - this guarantees that the supports will withstand even heavy snowfalls.
  • For the lifting mechanism (gate) you need a rounded log and a strong metal bar.

Well head drawing

  • Considering that all wooden elements will be outdoors all year round, you need to stock up on special protective equipment.
  • To fasten wooden parts in places where they will be under the greatest load, you need to buy metal corners.
  • Bolt, handle, door hinges and fasteners (screws or nails).
  • Bucket and chain.
  • Saw or jigsaw, level, tape measure, screwdriver or hammer, pencil.

Stages of work on the creation of a well house

  • Depending on the chosen design, the frame of the walls and roof is made. He will bear all the burden. It is easier to collect it on the ground and fasten it to the well in finished form.
  • To calculate the size of the head around the concrete rings of the well, it is required to measure their diameter. Based on the results obtained, a frame is assembled from a board with a section of 50x100 mm. When fastening parts, it is necessary to constantly align the vertical and horizontal with a level to avoid skew.
  • At the corners of the frame, vertical bars are fixed, equal to the height of the head house. In addition, 2 more vertical bars are attached to the frame from two opposite sides and connected horizontally with a board from above, it turns out the ridge of the future roof. All vertical racks are also interconnected with bars with a section of 50x100 mm.

  • From the ridge to the side harness, rafters from a 50x50 mm beam are attached in increments of 40-50 cm. For reliable and beautiful fastening, at the points of attachment to the ridge, the bars are cut at an angle of 45 degrees. This can be done with a miter saw. For added strength, these places are fixed with metal corners. Excess rafters are cut off, not forgetting to leave a takeaway.
  • On the side where the door will open, it is necessary to nail a strong and wide board (at least 300 mm). In the future, it will be convenient to put a bucket filled with water on it. On the other sides, you can use narrower and thinner boards. Their function will be to securely fix the head on the well rings. This completes the assembly of the frame. It must be even and strong.
  • If the head of the well provides for insulation, then sheet moisture-resistant material is attached to the frame. In turn, a slab insulation with high moisture-resistant characteristics is attached to it. It is desirable that they have a spike / groove connection, which will exclude cold bridges and through freezing in these places.
  • The next step is to mount a mechanism for lowering and raising a bucket of water. It is most convenient to make it from a piece of rounded log, the diameter of which should be 15-20 cm (the larger it is, the easier it will be to lift a full bucket). The length is selected individually, and depends on the size of the head of the well. On average, it should be only 5 cm shorter than the internal distance between walls or racks. This will allow the gate to rotate freely.

  • If there is no rounded log, then they take a simple one and clean it from the wane, remove all irregularities, knots and grind it. The resulting workpiece is shortened to the desired size, and the edges are tightly wrapped with steel wire.
  • Holes 20 mm in diameter and 50 mm deep are drilled from the ends. To protect the wood in these vulnerable places from decay, metal plates must be screwed on. The holes on them should match in diameter and location with those already drilled on the log.
  • On the racks to which the lifting mechanism will be attached, similar holes are made with protection from metal plates. The only difference is that on the side with the lever you need to make a through hole.
  • Metal bushings are inserted into both holes on the racks. And metal rods are driven into the log from the ends, the diameter is slightly less than the bushings. One will simply fix the log, and the second has an L-shaped handle for rotation. Then they fasten and wind the chain, tying a bucket to the other end.

  • The finished frame is sheathed with a finishing material. If it is a block house or lining, then they have a spike / groove connection, which ensures their snug fit. When using edged boards, even with the most careful fit, the formation of gaps cannot be avoided due to seasonal shrinkage of the wood and its cracking.
  • Special stains or antiseptic impregnations will help protect wood from decay. It is also allowed to apply varnish, but only intended for operation at sub-zero temperatures, otherwise it will crack and begin to crumble.
  • Alternatively, plastic or metal siding can be used. The latter not only completely repeats the appearance of natural material, but even has a similar texture.
  • Next, they make a crate on the roof and be sure to attach a vapor barrier fabric. It will protect the roofing material from high humidity and condensation.
  • Then the door is fixed. To do this, you need to choose dry wood to avoid deformation and curvature during further drying. Boards are nailed onto the frame, acting as a door frame.
  • Having measured the size of the resulting hole, the frame of the future door is assembled on a flat surface, which should be slightly smaller. It should have right angles without curvature. The canvas is made from the same material that the house itself was sheathed with. To give the frame rigidity, a rail with a cross section of 20x20 mm or more is screwed diagonally from the inside.
  • Door hinges are attached to the wall and to the door, then it is hung and leveled. It is necessary to ensure that it closes easily and does not jam. After that, a handle and a lock are attached to it.

  • The final stage is the decorative finish, if such is provided for by the design.

Make a stone well head

  • Consider the method when the walls are laid out of brick, later facing it with natural stone. In this case, the walls of the head will be built according to the same principle as the walls of the house.
  • A concrete ring protruding above the ground is cut down with a grinder to the desired level. And the foundation is poured along its perimeter.
  • Waterproofing is placed on the concrete base, for example, roofing material. On top, they begin to make brickwork in the traditional way in 1 brick, with dressing of the seams.

  • After finishing the construction of the walls, they are covered with a film and left until the mortar sets. Thus, the basis of the cap on the well is made by hand. It's time to install the gate. If the supports for the lifting mechanism are also planned to be lined with decorative material in the future, then they are made of hollow brick, cinder block or foam concrete.
  • If the well is made of modern concrete rings, then it will be difficult to line it. The fact is that factory concrete is denser than with independent mixing of the solution, therefore, its surface is smooth, without pores and roughness.
  • To give the necessary adhesion, it will have to be self-anchored. From the outside, holes with a diameter of 5 mm are drilled in a chaotic manner to half the thickness of the concrete ring. The distance between them should vary between 10-15 cm.
  • If you go deeper, then over time the anchor may be exposed in this place. Then you need a masonry (reinforcing) mesh with a cell size of 4-5 cm. It must be completely bent around the ring, and the resulting allowance should be bent. But it should not fit snugly, the gap between the metal mesh and the concrete ring is 1 cm. Bent pieces of wire with a diameter of 5 mm are driven into the prepared recesses. A mesh is tied to the resulting anchors. Such preparatory work will ensure that the base will withstand facing material of any severity - from slab sandstone to boulders.

Lining a concrete well with wood

  • Due to the heat-preserving properties of wood, there will be no problems with condensate in winter. It is thanks to these properties that since ancient times, wells have been made from logs.
  • First you need to make a frame around the concrete ring for attaching the wooden planks. A solid shield is made on each side of the future well. To do this, collect the frame. Edged boards with a thickness of 25 mm are tightly nailed to it. When all 4 shields are ready, they are primed in 2 layers.
  • They are applied to the well and mark the points where the shields are in contact with the base. In the marked places, holes are made with a puncher and wooden blocks are attached.

  • Put the shield and screw one upper corner. Then, aligning it horizontally, screw the second side. Thus, the entire frame is fixed. The resulting voids can be filled with cement mortar with chips. This guarantees protection even against severe and prolonged frosts.
  • Finishing material begins to be attached to the resulting frame. Its choice is not limited by anything and depends only on the style of the site or personal preferences.
  • It is easy and quick to make an imitation of logs or timber using block house wooden panels.
  • Installation is best to start from the top. Since it is made from natural wood, panels that are identical at first glance, during their installation, may turn out to be of different widths. This may be a very slight difference, but asymmetrical joints form at the corners. Therefore, it is necessary to slowly adjust the panels, trying to avoid distortion in the pattern.

Head for a well made of siding or metal

  • Unlike a wooden block house, plastic panels are perfectly sized and always fit exactly at the joints. But you need to remember that the richer the color of the panel (for example, dark wood), the higher the likelihood that it will fade in the sun. When the well is in the shade of trees, this is not scary, but for sunny areas it is better to choose light colors of the material.
  • The frame for cladding is prepared according to the method described above.
  • Start fixing the siding from the bottom. First screw the starting bar. Its horizontal level must be checked with particular care. If there is a slight distortion, it will immediately affect the appearance.
  • Further, corner external profiles are attached to the screws. Their vertical is checked by level.
  • Now came through the attachment of the slats themselves. They come in a standard size of 3 m, so first measure the desired length and cut it off. At the same time, one should not forget about allowances of 1.5-2 cm, which will be inserted into the corner profiles. The first bar from below clings to the starting one, and is screwed on top with self-tapping screws. The next one is inserted into it and snapped into place, which holds the previous bar from below, and is attached from above with self-tapping screws. So the whole well is sewn up. The top is finished according to the intended design.

Head of sewer well

  • Most country houses have an autonomous sewage system, and often its installation provides that the upper part of the sewer well remains above the ground. In this case, he also needs decoration.

  • The principle of wall cladding remains the same. The only difference is that it is not required to make racks for the lifting mechanism, and the height of the walls is much less.
  • Sometimes it is enough to overlay it with large stones and make a decorative cover.
  • Or they make circular brickwork, and a factory-made sewer hatch is laid on top.

In any case, it is not only beautiful, but also functional, as additional insulation is produced.

Well head design

When choosing a well design, you should rely on the stylistic direction that is already on the site.

  • Russian style. The most typical for this style is the head of the well in the form of a tower. Only real logs are used for it, and not their imitation. Carved wooden elements can become an additional decoration. It is better to put the same roofing material on the roof as on the house itself.

  • Modern style. Its main feature is the use of modern rather than traditional materials. Such a well head would be appropriate only if the house itself is made in high-tech style. Tiles are used for cladding, and racks are made of metal.
  • Chalet style. This is a European rustic style, so a combination of natural wood and stone is best for a well head. All materials should be deliberately rough, thick metal, stone boulders, textured wood. You can make the design lighter with the help of forged lightweight elements.
  • East style. The most popular among landscape designers are wells decorated in a minimalist Japanese style. The main feature is the head with a hipped roof. To finish the well, large stones and wood are selected. But the Chinese style is the opposite, it is filled with a lot of luxurious and exquisite jewelry. Therefore, bright colors are chosen for the walls of the head, and the racks are made in the form of carved figures of mythical characters.

In addition to traditional style solutions, there are many design options for the head of the well. They are distinguished by their versatility, which allows them to look good in any landscape design.

  • Fairy towers. These are deliberately bright, almost dollhouses. They can be of an unusual shape, decorated with bright finishing materials. You can strengthen associations with the help of arranged garden figurines of gnomes or fairies.
  • Sea style. It is quite simple to create it, for this you need to take attributes that speak for themselves, such as: a rope, a barrel (which can be instead of a bucket), an anchor, an aged tree, a steering wheel instead of a lifting mechanism handle. Anchor figurines and marine animals are perfect for decorative finishing.

  • Painting with paints. This is the most budget option, which does not limit in artistic motives. It is enough just to prime the concrete rings of the well with white color and decorate them. Or paint a brick or wooden headboard with white paint and paint over it.

But no matter how beautifully the head of the well is made, in order for it to look harmonious, it must be surrounded by plants. To do this, you can plant low-growing flowering shrubs around it or create new compositions every year from flowering annuals. In addition, flowers can be arranged in large flowerpots. In this case, they can be rearranged several times over the summer. Plant compositions are suitable for a well made in any style.

Today, a well on the site is not only a source of water supply, but also a design element. Therefore, the appearance of the structure should be not only practical and functional, but also aesthetically attractive. And the attractiveness of the well is provided, of course, by the roof. For the erection of this architectural element, it is not at all necessary to hire specialists. A well shaft, a body and a roof for a well with your own hands - this is not at all difficult. In particular, if you familiarize yourself with the theoretical basis before starting work. In this article, we tried to collect all the basic tips that will definitely help you give your well a new roof. Give your well a new roof.

First you need to choose a style for the well roof. It should not stand out from the entire design concept of the site.

In the wells, the head and the roof can be made in different versions. The roof can be flat (sloping) or pitched (pointed). Pitched roofs, in turn, are divided into single-pitched, double-pitched and hipped roofs. In addition, it can serve as a canopy, and can immediately serve as the walls of the house.

There is some design rule. According to him, the roof of the well and the roof of the house should be covered with the same material and repeat each other with their shapes.

The material that can be used to cover such a canopy, which is necessary for a well, is not difficult to choose on the modern building materials market. It can be tiles of various types, metal or ordinary tes.

If your estate has a pronounced Russian style, then the well can be made in a similar design. Finish the log house of the well and the roof with a rounded log, which will be enough to varnish.

If you have woodcarving skills, then the roof of the well will be a unique feature: do not limit your imagination! After all, then, you can decorate your well with various wooden motifs that make it fabulous.

If the well ring protrudes above the ground, then its wall can be decorated with a log house.

Materials used in the construction of roofs

For the roof, materials such as tiles, metal profiles, stone or slate can be used.

Roof tiles

There are four types of tiles. The choice of one or another type directly depends on the climate, personal wishes and the type of roof.

  1. Ruberoid tile for a roof. It is made from tar, felt and stones. Tiles are fireproof, economical and the construction market offers a wide range of styles and colors of this material. Tiles are easy to install and repair.
  2. Ceramic tiles. Tolerates high temperatures well. It has a very attractive appearance, but in order to lay this material on the roof, some special skills are required. She is very durable. But if it is still damaged, it is also very difficult to repair it. In addition, this type of tile is quite heavy.
  3. Cedar tiles. This is the very first type of this material. It looks very nice, has a small weight. But it has a high degree of fire hazard. And in order for the tile to always have an aesthetically attractive appearance, it must be regularly looked after. And it's very troublesome.
  4. Metal tile. The tile has such a structure that snow does not linger on it. And also it is treated with special solutions that prevent the development of rust. The price of such material is not at all low, but its properties are worth it.

metal profile

The metal profile is very popular today for sheltering roofs. And all because it has some valuable characteristics. Such as

  • Simple styling:
  • Durability and strength;
  • Does not require regular care;
  • Light weight;
  • Withstands weather conditions.

In the construction market of roofing materials, you can find a metal profile made of aluminum, galvanized steel, titanium-zinc alloy or copper. The most common is a metal profile made of galvanized steel. The material from this alloy is economical in terms of material costs, convenient for installation. Sheets of steel are treated with zinc on both sides, which protects them from rust.

For a conventional gable roof on a well, it is enough to use sheets half a millimeter thick.

The leaf wave can be in the form of a trapezoid, a sinusoid or a rounded shape.

There are some nuances, following which, when installing a metal profile on a roof, you can significantly improve the quality of the structure being built:

  • The metal profile sheet is attached to the crate in places where the wave bends.
  • Near the eaves and ridge, the fastenings must be repeated in each wave;
  • At the vertical joints of the sheets, self-tapping screws are fastened in increments of no more than half a meter;
  • It is better to additionally treat the joints of the sheets with silicone sealant.
  • After three months after laying the metal profile sheets, go over the fasteners again and tighten the loose ones.

For cutting sheets, do not use scissors, gas cutting and a grinder.

Slate

This is the cheapest roofing material today. And in terms of durability, it is not inferior to any modern material. Installation of a roof made of this material is carried out on a crate. Bars or boards are simply nailed to the rafters perpendicularly. Each sheet should be supported by three boards or bars.

Sheets are stacked from top to bottom and from right to left. The sheets overlap each other by no less than 12-14 cm.

If the slope of the roof is more than 30 degrees, the sheets are laid dry. If the roof slope is more pointed, the joints of the sheets are lubricated with bituminous mastic.

Slate can be painted in any color you want. Use moisture and temperature resistant oil paints and enamels. Before painting, prime the slate sheets and only then apply the paint in two layers. Each layer should dry well.

As a primer, you can use ordinary drying oil. And warm the paint before painting to 40 degrees in a container with hot water.

Today, on building markets, you can find slate of various colors. The paint on the slate protects the material from moisture and damage, and also increases the degree of frost resistance of the material.

In some countries, asbestos is banned, so many manufacturers already produce slate without this component. They add mineral and synthetic fibers to the composition of the slate. Such material has the most aesthetic appearance. Yes, and in some characteristics it is much better than asbestos.

A rock

This material is considered elite, especially if used in roofing. As a rule, of natural stones, slate is the most common material.

It is this material that is very durable and does not change its color or shape when exposed to the most powerful natural destroyers. It is not fire hazardous, has a high degree of thermal insulation and sound insulation. The service life of this material can be calculated for centuries.

For roofing, stone is processed by hand. Each tile is polished, adjusted to the desired shape. Tiles are made in a rectangular shape with sharp or rounded edges. Similar tiles can be combined with forged copper products.

Here with the color in this type of material you will not particularly scatter. As a rule, slate tiles have a grayish tint. But there are tiles with a greenish or reddish tint. But even with this set of colors, you can lay out a unique ornament on the roof.

Tiles are laid on the crate from the bottom up. Fastening to the crate is carried out with special hooks or nails.

If suddenly any tile is damaged or collapsed, then it is easy to replace it with a similar one without violating the entire roof structure.

Today, manufacturers offer sheets of artificial slate slate. The color scheme contains a large number of color variations. It also increases the breadth of choice and various cut options. Artificial material is much lighter than natural and less fragile.

Roof top options

Consider some examples of the arrangement of the ground part of the wells.

Roof-flower bed

This type of roof for a well has another additional aesthetic function - it is also a flower bed. A similar roof on a well with your own hands is a process consisting of the following steps:

  • Prepare wooden poles. They must be treated with a special moisture-resistant compound, and the places that will be fixed with concrete must be treated with a special bitumen mastic (approximately 75 cm). The length of the posts should be about 3 meters. Wrap the treated parts of the pillars with roofing felt and secure it with nails or staples.
  • Dig holes for the posts. The depth of the pits should be approximately 1 meter 20 cm. The diameter of the pits should be 2 times the diameter of the pillars. At the bottom of the pits, fill in about 20 cm of sand. Lightly dampen the sand with water.
  • Pour a concrete base about 30 cm wide. Allow the base to dry and (usually the next day) install the posts. Pillars can be fixed with spacers.

In order to install the posts evenly, you need to use plumb lines.

  • Tables are filled with mortar to ground level. Give the concrete time to dry.
  • You can finish the pillars with a stone plinth. To do this, wrap the pillars at the desired height with roofing material and a special grid for plaster and, using a mortar, overlay with a stone.
  • Bolt the top rails to the post; The lower ones are fixed in a similar way. From the timber you make the transverse crossbars of the roof.
  • Lay OSB sheets on the rafters.
  • Sheets must be coated with bitumen mastic. Fix a layer of roofing material across the sheets, and another one will need to be fixed across the bottom layer. Roofing material should be overlapped.
  • Decorate the roof ridge.
  • Spread a special drainage fabric over the roof surface and fix it on top with a plaster mesh.
  • Fill the roof with soil and plant the necessary plants.

Well house

It is more expedient to build a house for a well in regions with low winter temperatures and strong winds. Then the well will need to be insulated so that the water does not freeze. Make the walls of the well double and lay a layer of expanded clay or insulation between them.

  • Prepare four pillars with a square of size 15 * 15 cm in cross section. The pillars are concreted into dug holes. The bases of the pillars that will go into the ground, pre-treat with a moisture-resistant composition (you can use bituminous mastic) and wrap with roofing material.
  • Using ties and brackets, fasten the rafters to the posts in two parts (upper and middle).
  • Make the roof in the form of a crate from a lining. Turn the slats of the lining down. Cover the roof with any material you need.
  • Fasten a beam with holes in the middle of the pillars. They are designed to secure the gate.

The hole for the gate axis must be made in the form of a cylinder from the sides, and the gate handle must be laid in the beam from above, like a groove. The holes are made smaller in diameter than the diameter of the axis and handle.

  • Glue a wooden plate onto the groove.
  • For the gate, take a dry log, trim the edges of which with metal corners and secure with washers.
  • Drive the axle and handle into the holes. Bolt the handle onto the handle.
  • In front of the well, nail a wide board - a shelf for a bucket.
  • Place narrower boards around the perimeter. They can also serve as a frame for the door.
  • Hang the door on the hinges.

A real house (not a house) for a well is needed if you have a hydraulic pump station working from the well. Then not only the well itself needs protection, but also the machinery. And you can't get away with a simple house here. You can build a closed gazebo for such cases.

You can build a house without sheathing, that is, for this you just need to attach two racks to the base and make a roof from an ordinary profile sheet.

marquee

The process of creating a tent consists of the following steps:

  • Pillars are dug in along the perimeter of the well. It is better, of course, to concrete them into pre-dug holes. Do not forget to treat the part of the tree that is being dug in with bituminous mastic and wrap it with roofing material.
  • Pull the canopy over the poles.

This version of the roof superstructure is also suitable for abandoned wells and looks great as a design element on the site.

The proposed roof for the well has a stone base. Large stones are placed on the cement mortar. The inner diameter of the base should be 1m 20 cm, and the outer one and a half meters. Such a massive foundation must also have an equally worthy foundation. The foundation in this case can be the concrete rings themselves, which are the walls of the well itself. You can also lay a special foundation, which is laid to the depth of non-freezing. Using the latter option, use concrete pillars to a depth along the diameter of the well.

Outline the boundaries of the foundation and dig a small ditch 20 cm deep and 30 cm wide. Using a drill along the ditch, make holes 60 cm deep. Pour concrete into the holes and lay the first row of stones with cement mortar on the mortar that has not yet hardened

Immediately in the process of laying the first row, two supporting pillars made of timber are also built into it.

Please note that for artificial "aging" of the masonry, it is necessary to add a little gravel to the solution.

Now it's up to the canopy itself. It is built first on the ground. The roof should have a triangular section and is already mounted on supports in finished form.

For the roof, you will need 5 * 10 cm bars. First, connect the rafters and the ridge with the bottom bar, which is located longitudinally. Put the resulting structure on the ground with one slope and, similarly to the first, fix the second rafters. Secure the rafters with cross bars.

On the supports from above, make special grooves for the ridge. Four supports for the roof with load-bearing supports are connected in a groove, and with roof rafters - with bolts.

But the roof still needs to be sheathed. For the first layer of the crate, ordinary boards or plywood, which are attached to the rafters, are suitable. Then spread a layer of roofing material. Well, then any roofing material - tiles, metal profiles or slate. Just carefully hammer the ends of the roof with boards.

Fasten the roof to the supports and install the water raising mechanism.

A few words about the mechanisms for raising water in wells

Finally, one cannot but mention the water lifting mechanisms, which are an integral part of the roof superstructure and are attached to the roof supports.

  • The gate is the most common. To make it, you need a log. Its length should be less than 5 centimeters of the distance between the pillars of the well to which it will be attached.

If there is no suitable log, an ordinary beam with a section of 20 * 20 cm will do. Attach a round plate to it from the side and circle the outline. Then, using a jigsaw, give the bar a round shape.

From the sides of the log to a depth of 13 centimeters, drill a hole with a diameter of about 2 cm. As noted earlier, the diameter of the pipe of the axle shaft handle should be slightly larger. So the gate will be stronger.

It is desirable to fix the gate on the axis with washers. A chain is attached approximately in the middle of the log.

  • Crane. It seemed that such wells have not been found anywhere for a long time. An no. Such a mechanism gives your architectural structure a special old Russian chic.

For this mechanism, you need a pole with a fork, where a long “crane” pole will be attached. Another wooden pole is attached to one end of the pole, the diameter of which is half that. A chain (short, about 1 m) with a bucket is attached to this narrower pole. And at the other end of the pole, a load is attached that weighs more than the weight of an empty bucket.

If the well is equipped with this mechanism for raising water, then the well must be closed with a hinged lid.

Either the house or the lid must be equipped with a vent. It should be located either closer to the edge of the lid, or in the house - opposite the handle of the gate handle.

So, we have considered the most important and necessary information that may be needed in the practical construction of a roof for a well in your suburban area. It is possible that after completing the work, you will most likely feel tired, but it will be a pleasant tiredness, flavored with a sense of pride in your skillful hands. A do-it-yourself well roof is a dream that you can fulfill by reading the materials in this article. For business!

Currently, a well in the country is not a mandatory attribute. If earlier it was the only source of water outside the city, today many owners refuse from the well.

  1. Building wells requires a lot of manual labor., such work cannot be mechanized. In addition, at present it is very difficult to find experienced and professional craftsmen, and contacting amateurs is at a loss. They may not dig in places where there is groundwater, stop working when dirty subcutaneous water appears, etc.
  2. Wells require periodic maintenance. Depending on the debit of water and its physical properties, the well must be periodically cleaned of silt and dirt, fallen leaves, branches and other debris. Before cleaning, the water should be completely pumped out, the dirt removed with buckets. The work is dirty and unpleasant, takes a lot of time and effort.
  3. The quality of water in wells does not meet the requirements of sanitary authorities. Why? For two reasons. The first is that the state of ecology is so depressing that many chemical compounds enter the upper aquifer. And it is from here that water enters the traditional well. The second is that the climate has changed dramatically, in many regions of our country there is a sharp decrease in the amount of natural precipitation, subcutaneous waters are disappearing.

In addition, modern household appliances are installed in the dachas, which work only if there is running water. Moreover, not only its consumption and purity are regulated, but also the working pressure. The solution to the problems that arise is simple - to equip a small well. This gives a guarantee of high-quality water with a practically unlimited debit, the well takes it from a depth of several tens of meters, and there are more underground rivers and lakes. Downhole pumps are installed on the wells, they create the pressure and volume of supply necessary for the functioning of household appliances.

Such features have become the reason that at present, wells are extremely rare near new country cottages. But they still exist, and they need to be ennobled.

To cover the roof of the well, both traditional and modern roofing materials are used.

Type of roofingBrief description of physical and operational characteristics

Due to the low cost and high manufacturability, soft tiles are very popular with many developers. About 10-15 years ago, this material occupied a leading position among all existing in the construction market. Currently, the number of people who want to have a roof with such a roof has significantly decreased. The reason is that dust accumulates on the surface of bituminous tiles, after 4–5 years mosses and other vegetation begin to grow. Removing it from the roof is very difficult, sometimes almost impossible. The roots of plants destroy the integrity of the base of the bituminous tile and the waterproofing layer, as a result, the tightness is lost, the appearance of the structure is significantly deteriorating.

Highly demanded roofing materials. Roofs over wells under metal tiles or profiled sheets are very common. All structures fully meet the expectations of consumers and are recommended by experienced builders. The main disadvantage of metal roofs is a lot of noise during heavy rain or hail. Noise can create certain troubles for those living in houses; for wells, this disadvantage does not matter. The light weight of metal coatings makes it much easier to open / close the doors above the well, and this increases the comfort of use.

The traditional roofing material, despite the long and aggressive anti-advertising, asbestos-cement slate still holds a pretty good position. The roof under the slate has many disadvantages: heavy weight, ugly appearance, insufficient indicators of physical strength. Another disadvantage of slate is that it is difficult to work with it, there are difficulties in cutting and fixing. And the last. The surface of the cipher has a lot of nervousness, which causes a rapid accumulation of dust with all the negative consequences.

Flexible roof tiles

It is impractical to seriously consider rolled soft coatings, natural stone, piece ceramic tiles and a splinter due to very rare use.

Step-by-step instructions for making a roof for a well

The roof is gable, the total area of the slopes is 2.4 m2, the strapping for fastening vertical elements from a board 50 mm thick. You need to start with the base for the roof (strapping).

Step 1. Measure the diameter of the reinforced concrete rings of the well, give a margin of 1–2 cm.

From a beam 5 cm thick and about 10 cm wide, prepare four pieces, the length of each should be equal to the diameter of the rings in the outer circle.

Step 2 Knock down a square from the segments.

It is recommended to first fix the boards with ordinary nails, and then try on the square on the well. The fact is that concrete circles do not have an ideal shape, you will have to hammer the base into place with a hammer, the nails will allow the dimensions to increase slightly. After fitting, it is necessary to make marks for the position of the base and proceed to increase its strength.

Important. During the strengthening of the strength of the base, carefully ensure that the original dimensions are not violated.

Step 3 Fix the base on the rings of the well. This is a very important technological operation. The fact is that not only the weight of the roof will be supported at these points, they must withstand additional wind and snow loads.

For fixing it is recommended to use durable dowels for concrete. Diameter not less than 10 mm, length must be 50 mm greater than the thickness of the rails. In total, you need to use 8 dowels, two on each side of the square. Once again, we pay attention that the fastening should be as reliable as possible. If in doubt, then it is necessary to provide additional vertical supports in the lower part, fix them with dowels to the rings, and rest the upper end against the structure.

Step 4 Hammer boards approximately 20mm thick on the upper surface of the carrier frame, align it in the same plane with the edge of the ring.

This completes the manufacture of the base, you can proceed with the installation of the roof. The roof consists of several elements, each is made separately and according to its own rules.

Roof assembly

Step 1. Fabricate the vertical supports of the roof frame. The height of the elements is approximately one meter. They should be made from the same powerful beam as the strapping. In the upper part of the supports, a cut is made at an angle of 90 °, 45 ° in each direction from the axis of symmetry. The slats of the frame will lie on the planes of the gash.

The lower part of the supports is attached to the base with metal squares; to increase rigidity, you can drive in nails about 100 mm long on the sides. Drive the hardware carefully, do not allow cracks to appear in the lumber.

Step 2 Attach the sloped roof frame rails to the vertical supports. They must have the same length, fixed with nails or screws.

Step 3 Attach the rail to the roof ridge. It is installed in special slots between the side ones, it is also fastened with self-tapping screws or nails.

Practical advice. After fixing each new frame element, the strength of the structure should increase significantly. Check it with your hands, make significant efforts from various sides.

As soon as staggering is detected, the cause must be immediately identified and eliminated. There is no need to hope that the roof will then become stable on its own, miracles do not happen.

Step 4 Decide on the dimensions of the well doors, at the required distance, fix two stop rails on the facade slope of the roof. On the reverse side, it is enough to nail one bar to fasten the roof lathing. Install it in the middle of the slope.

Step 5 The roofing of the roof will be made of bituminous tiles, a solid crate is required under it, we recommend using a moisture-resistant OSB board. Immediately cut a piece and make a door, you will have to make a special frame for it. Choose sizes such that it freely enters the opening prepared in the ramp.

Practical advice. OSB boards have a smooth surface on one side and an ordinary rough surface on the other. A smooth surface is considered moisture resistant, it is recommended to turn it to the roofing. In wells, such recommendations are not suitable.

The fact is that moisture constantly evaporates from the water surface, when the temperature changes, condensation appears on the roof slopes. Nail the slab in such a way that its smooth lacquered side faces the well, and the rough side under the roofing. There is nothing wrong with violating the recommendations of manufacturers, you must choose the lesser of two evils. In the future, the rough surface of the slab will be carefully and hermetically closed with bituminous tiles, this will not affect the duration of the operation of the structure.

Installation of bituminous tiles

Buy a package of soft tiles. As a rule, it has three square meters, and we need only 2.4 m2 for the roof of the well. It is easy to work with bituminous tiles; an ordinary mounting knife is used for cutting. In terms of the manufacturability of installation, it is superior to metal coatings, it is in connection with this that the material is preferred in our particular case.

Step 1. Open the package of shingles, take one shingle and estimate its position in the first bottom row. Prepare the first shingle. To do this, you need to cut off the petals from it, leaving only a flat strip.

By the way, the same strip then needs to be nailed to the ridge of our roof, you can immediately cut out two parts.

It is necessary to cut bituminous tiles under a metal ruler and preferably from the reverse side. The fact is that due to this position, the knife blade becomes less blunt, it does not constantly scrape over the stone dressing.

Step 2 Start laying shingles according to the manufacturer's instructions, which are included in every package.

To increase the durability of the roof of the well, you can finish the base with any bituminous mastic. But if it is not there, then the roof will serve for a long time, the main thing is not to violate the recommended technology.

Step 3 Sew up the gables with clapboard, take measurements for each board. The roof was made without special respect for accuracy, deviations of 1–2 cm are permissible. During the sheathing of the gables, the gaps close and become completely invisible.

Step 4 Nail wooden windshields along the ends of the roof.

It is advisable to close these places with metal strips and fasten them before starting the installation of bituminous tiles. So the ends of the OSB are more reliably protected from the negative effects of moisture. If there are no metal strips, then slats can also be used, but before fixing them, it is necessary to treat the open ends of the OSB with any waterproof impregnation. It can even be ordinary vegetable oil.

Step 5. Paint wooden structures with durable outdoor paint.

Painting lining and planks

Step 6 Carefully cut the cover along the contour of the door. Do not rush, the cut should be as even as possible.

Step 7 Screw the handle onto the lid.

This completes the process of manufacturing an elementary roof for a well. We have given an example of the simplest execution. You can, of course, make a complex roof with decorative elements, high and large, from expensive lumber, etc. If the well is located in front of the house and plays an important role in landscape design, then such significant material costs are justified. And if it is located behind the house or household outbuildings, then you can pay secondary attention to the design, and give priority to the cost and functionality of the structure. The article gives advice on the manufacture of the second version of the roof for the well.

The roof of the house should protect it from atmospheric precipitation and look beautiful. Bituminous tiles cope with such tasks, which have a number of advantages: reasonable price, variety of shapes and shades of shingles, ease of installation. On our website you can find out that it has served for more than one decade.

Original ideas for building and decorating a house for a well can be done with your own hands using standard building tools. The creation of a private well traditionally ends with the arrangement of a house, which is both a protective and decorative element. There are quite a few options for finishing the mentioned design, however, the procedure for arranging houses as a whole remains almost the same. Only the dimensions, configuration and design features change. Traditionally, wood is used to build houses. Read the provisions of the presented guidelines and choose the option for decorating the house that suits your case.

Why do you need a house for a well?

A large selection of ready-made houses for wells is available for sale. However, the cost of such products leaves much to be desired. Therefore, many owners decide to build well houses on their own - there is nothing complicated about it.

The main purpose of the house for the well is to protect water from various kinds of pollution and direct sunlight. Insects, debris, animals, excess heat - all this negatively affects the quality of water.

Also, the house will provide reliable protection of the well from all kinds of precipitation and chemicals used to spray plantations. In winter, a properly equipped house will not allow the water in the well to freeze.

House with gable roof

The simplest and most popular design option. Such a well house is easily built from improvised devices, because. almost everything needed (timber, boards, fasteners) remains after the completion of larger construction activities.

frame

To create the basis of such a house, boards and a wooden beam are used.

First of all, it is necessary to choose the optimal dimensions of the main structural elements. If the details are too thin, the well house may not withstand wind and other loads. Too voluminous elements will make the house bulky.

House diagram. 1 - base frame, 2 - gables, 3 - stand, 4 - roof ridge, 5 - gate, 6 - gable lining, 7, 8 - roof slopes

Therefore, stick to the recommended and time-tested parameters. So, the optimal thickness of the board is an indicator of 4 cm, the cross section of the beam is 8x10 or 10x10 cm. The design of such a house consists of four racks of timber and the same number of boards suitable for upper and lower strapping. The recommended board width is 120-150 mm.

Saw the boards in advance in accordance with the dimensions of your well, and then nail all the elements one by one to the support posts. As a result, you will get a reliable and even frame. To fasten the elements of the dimensions mentioned, use nails with a length of about 100 mm.

At this stage, it is best to adhere to the following algorithm:

Roof and upholstery

Proceed to the arrangement of the roof of the well house. Start with the installation of trusses - this is a rigid structure designed to fasten the crate. Make farms from durable boards with a thickness of at least 30 mm. Choose the length individually - the final height of the well house directly depends on this indicator.

Prepare boards for jibs and crossbars. There will be enough material with a thickness of 2.5-3 cm. In general, you need to prepare 6 rafter legs, 3 crossbars and 8 jibs. Cut the rafters at an angle, and then connect the upper ends of the products to each other. Attach with self-tapping screws.

For additional fixation of the rafters, use crossbars. They need to be placed 30 cm below the point of the upper fastening of the rafters. Create cutouts at the junctions of the rafters with the top trim boards. To connect the rafters and frame, use 12 cm nails.

Strengthen the fixation of the truss elements with jibs. To connect the farms, use a kind of skate - a construction of two boards. Fasten the batten boards in increments of about 15 cm. Provide 10 cm ledges above the walls of the building. Cover the finished roof frame with roofing material, and on top of it, if desired, fix the finishing roofing material at your discretion. In conclusion, you will only have to cover the corner joints with wind boards.

The frame of the roof structure is most conveniently assembled on the ground.

Door

The door of such a well house looks like a kind of plank shield. The door is made according to an extremely simple principle. Cut boards with a width of about 150-200 mm. 85 mm will be enough in length.

Fold the boards one to the other and fasten with 30x25 mm bars. Two bars will be quite enough - you will fix one from above, the second will be nailed from below. Use self-tapping screws to fasten the elements of the product. Four screws for each board will be enough.

Nail an additional diagonal bar. It will help increase the rigidity of the product. Sheathe the gables, attach the latch and handle, and then hang the finished door on the hinges.

Do not forget to treat the outside of the product with an antiseptic and varnish it. Before applying varnish, you can paint the door waterproof.

Prices for various types of lumber

lumber

Such a well house will have an original and very interesting design. To build such a structure, you will need the following:

  • rounded logs;
  • boards for arranging roofs and supports;
  • roofing finish;
  • material for arranging the gate with a comfortable handle.

Similar well houses are often found in villages. Racks of the structure, gates and the frame itself are made from rounded timber.

Manufacturing technology

Fold the rounded timber into a log house according to the dimensions of the well. Connect the timber by any suitable and convenient method. Install two massive wooden beam supports. For additional rigidity, equip the racks of the house with props. Arrange a wide roof structure on top of the support posts. The roofing guide was given in the previous section of the instructions - do everything in the same order.

The edges of the roof should extend beyond the base of the well house. This will prevent rainfall from entering the well shaft.

Lock the gate securely. You can decorate the protruding ends of the timber with a variety of curly cutouts.

Modification of the previous design. It differs only in shape - it is hexagonal and saves additional space, which is important for owners of compact wells and small plots of land.

In general, the sequence of construction of this house remains the same as in the case of the construction of an ordinary rectangular building from a bar. The house is well suited for framing a mine with pumping equipment.

Prices for popular types of antiseptics

Antiseptics

There are several ways to decorate a house. A popular decoration option is carving. A neat carved house will fit into any landscape, the design of which is made using wood.

Also, a simple and popular option for decorating such structures is staining. Varnishes and impregnations allow you to radically change the texture and color of the material.

In some situations, it will be appropriate to decorate a house using a ceramic or wooden figurine of some animal.

For the rest, each owner must independently think over the finishing design of the well house, so that the finished structure fits well into the environment and fully demonstrates the individuality and taste of the owner.

Successful work!

- cement-sand tile is an analogue of ceramic roofing material. She also bears a resemblance to him. It is produced from a mixture of quartz sand, cement, binders and water-repellent additives, as well as a coloring pigment. In production, mainly high-quality raw materials are used. Usually it is cement from 200 and above.

  • it is durable. If the material is made with strict adherence to technology, it will serve for 30 - 50 years;
  • does not collapse under the influence of rain, snow, hail, does not fade under the sun;
  • the material does not rust, has sufficient thickness, does not rot and does not deform;
  • the material is resistant to significant mechanical stress, strong enough. The risk of chipping during installation is minimal.
  • has a lot of weight;
  • with resistance to mechanical stress, the material does not withstand specially applied blows;
  • facing rough surface complicates the melting of snow;
  • the main fragments do not differ in a great variety of forms.

Cement-sand tiles

- is considered one of the best and respectable roofing options. This is due not only to the natural origin, but also to the excellent technical characteristics of the material. In a number of parameters (strength, resistance to environmental factors, durability), ceramic tiles are superior to many other roofing materials.

A well in the country, and sometimes near the house, is a necessary thing. But just a concrete ring sticking out of the ground with some kind of cover does not please the eye, and the comfort of use is below average. To remedy the situation, it is required to ennoble it and put a gate that will facilitate the rise of water. Ready-made well fences are for sale - with a roof and a gate, but they either have a solid price or look pathetic. Therefore, most often a house for a well is built with their own hands. Then you can apply your imagination and arrange everything the way you need.

Types of well houses and their tasks

The primary task of the well house is to protect water from the ingress of various substances - dust, foliage and other similar contaminants. This requires a tight-fitting lid. Open wells are possible only for technical water - for irrigation. Water from them cannot be used for other purposes. So if you plan to at least wash the dishes, the well should close tightly.

Protection from precipitation of any kind is also necessary: rain and melt waters carry very dirty water with fertilizers dissolved in it, animal waste, various garbage and impurities. Its entry into the well is fraught with serious pollution. To protect against precipitation, a canopy is made, most often a gable - it is easier to remove precipitation.

Another task of the well house is to protect from outsiders or, in any case, to ensure safety for children. To do this, hecks are made or locks are cut in.

To make it easier to raise water, racks and gates are installed - in the simplest case, a rotating log with a handle to which a chain is attached. And all this together should still please the eyes of the owners, but at the same time require minimal maintenance.

open or closed

As you can see in the photo, the well house can be open and closed. It’s cheaper and easier to make it open: the well ring can be finished with stone or wood, the lid, racks and canopy - made of wood or metal - whichever costs less. Materials for such a structure require a minimum. There is only one “but” - in winter, water can freeze in such a well. If you do not plan to use it in cold weather, no problem.

But for winter use, an insulated well house is required. But even then it can be made open:

  • buy a polystyrene "shell" for the well - they are of the right size, fix it, and put the finish on top of it;
  • make the overlap of the ring and the cover from several layers of wood, and lay the boards in different directions, blocking the joints.

Another option is to make a closed house. It is slightly larger than the well ring in size. The existing air gap is already a good heat insulator, but protection can be further improved - by laying gaps with foam, for example.

What to do

The choice of appearance sometimes takes a long time. The beautiful half of humanity is especially “suffering” with the desire to decorate the well, going through numerous design options and spending a lot of time doing this. In fact, everything is simple: if there is a house, and the well is nearby, it is worth decorating it in the same style and, if possible, in the same color. Agree, it looks good.

What if the house is brick or plastered? Choose a finish that matches your style. If this is one of the first buildings on the site, just do it the way you like.

Often the question arises: to make of metal or wood. Wooden ones look really nice. But without proper care, they quickly lose all their attractiveness and become gray and ugly. If you are not afraid of the prospect regularly, at least once a year, renew the protective coating (remove old paint, then repaint), make it from wood. If this is not for you, make it out of metal. The whole structure or just the frame - your choice. What is a bad option: a frame made of galvanized metal profile, sheathed with siding. Especially if the house is finished in the same way.

As you can see, there are a lot of options. First choose the type - open-closed, then the materials and finishes to your taste, understand the design, make a house for the well with your own hands.

Canopy for a well with a cover - an open house

Structurally, the device is simple: there are two racks located one opposite the other. They serve as a support for a canopy, and a gate is attached to them - a device for lifting buckets of water. A drawing of an open house with dimensions, see the photo below.

Please note that the posts can be dug in after the well ring has been finished. Depending on this, the order of work changes, but the design in any case remains the same.

How to make a canopy

First, the canopy is assembled. Make two side triangles according to the required dimensions. In the drawing above, only an approximate spread of the two extreme points is given. More can be done if necessary. The length of the canopy depends on where the racks will stand - close to the well ring or behind the casing. The approximate dimensions of the canopy with a ring diameter of 100 cm are shown in the photo below.

Dimensions of a well canopy for a diameter of 100 cm

It is possible to assemble the structure from a galvanized profile, a metal profile pipe or a wooden beam. To prevent the profile from bending, it is reinforced at the door attachment points - you can put a wooden block or a metal corner inside.

To ensure that rain does not get inside, the expansion must be made much larger than the size of the ring - at least 20 cm on each side.

If the racks are attached directly to the concrete ring, the procedure is slightly different. First, a frame is assembled that encloses the ring. In the photo, it is made of a board 30 mm thick. Racks are also made of the same board, the place of attachment to concrete is reinforced with overlays. They also play a decorative role.

If the canopy turned out to be heavy, it is advisable to use a beam of greater thickness, otherwise it will not withstand the load.

After that, the previously assembled roof is attached to the racks. It is possible to make triangles immediately on the spot, but it is more convenient to prepare them in advance, assemble the truss system, and hoist them on racks in finished form.

Next is the finish. Sew up with a board, clapboard, roofing material. Just keep in mind that the boards, if used raw, will dry out after some time, gaps up to 5 mm thick will form between them. There is no question of any hygiene then: both rain and dust will get in ... Using a dry board is also not very good - in wet weather it will swell, the flooring will “go in a wave”. In general, if you want to have clean water, build a house with doors - closed. There are more chances to save moisture from pollution.

Do-it-yourself closed house for a well

We are talking about such a variant of shelter for the well - with a door. If you still make a cover inside, it’s sure that dust will not get in.

A frame is being built, then it is put on the head of the well and fixed with anchor bolts.

  1. support post made of 100*200 mm
  2. short support posts from the same beam 100 * 200 mm
  3. fixing bar 30*60 mm
  4. triangular beam

We assemble the frame, with the help of short bars we fasten it to the ring. After we proceed to the assembly of the pallet. Assemble the flooring from a board of 30 * 100 mm or so. The frame is sheathed with boards or sheet material, such as waterproof plywood.

To keep the doors well, you can put additional jibs. We hang doors - one or two, as desired. To make it easier to navigate, below are drawings with dimensions.

According to the same scheme, you can make a roof for a metal house. If available, you can use a profile pipe. It is easier to attach finishing material to it.

How to make a fully enclosed frame

You can also hide a concrete ring in the house. In this case, the gate, as a rule, stands separately, and then the frame is assembled. Choose the dimensions so that the design freely covers the ring. Height - 20 centimeters higher than your height: so that you can safely bend over and get a bucket.

We take profiles from thick metal, galvanized. From the guide we assemble two identical frames - the “floor” and the upper level of the ring. They are connected by racks (profile for racks). It turned out a cube with filled sidewalls.

At the guide profile, we cut the sides, leaving the “back” intact. So you can make a triangle. We fix the rack, which is equal to the height of the entire house. If you want to have equal slopes, the rack is attached in the middle. You can make the far slope steeper, then the stand is moved 15-20 cm from the center.

We attach the notched profile to the fixed rack. We get one of the elements of the truss system. We perform the same operation on the other side. We connect the resulting tops of the triangles with a crossbar.

From the side of the door, we add racks - on both sides. It is better to strengthen them - put wooden blocks inside and fasten them with self-tapping screws.

We fasten the roofing material, for example, a profiled sheet, sheathe it with plywood. Soft tiles are then laid on plywood and nailed - who has what technology. The "foot" and sides of the roof are finished with any material. If you want - you can use wood - clapboard, imitation of a log or timber, if you want - siding.

In this case, the same materials were used as when facing the house: so that everything looks like a single ensemble.

Another video example of an assembly from a drywall profile in video format.

Making a well ring with your own hands

If a cap or canopy is made, the gray concrete ring remains visible. The view is not the most attractive, and I want to decorate it.

stone finish

The most popular way to decorate a well is to finish it with stone - pebbles or medium-sized rubble. If everything is more or less clear with the finishing material - to buy or assemble, then the question of what to cling to it remains. There are several recipes:

We offer the third recipe for how to line a well with stone in video format. The composition of the mixture here is very similar, but before applying the solution, a mesh is fixed on the ring. With this technology, nothing will definitely fall off.

An interesting variant of the hinged cover on the well is proposed in the following video: it leans back almost completely, but whether such a device is needed is up to you.
