Where should the stairs be in the house. How to place a ladder in the house: basic rules

If there is more than one floor in a private house, you cannot do without stairs. But besides the fact that it must connect the floors, the staircase must also fit into the interior. Therefore, when choosing a design, it is necessary to pay attention not only not to the dimensions and how much space it takes in the room, but also to take into account the style. Then the staircase to the second floor, made with your own hands, will be not only a functional item, but also an interior decoration. The work is difficult and responsible, but it can be done.

Types of stairs to the second floor in a private house

All these structures can be made of metal, wood, concrete, glass, marble and other decorative stones, and often use combinations of these materials. But most often the staircase to the second floor is made of wood with your own hands, a little less often - from metal or combinations of metal and wood.

In addition, there are two types of degrees - open and closed. In open stairs there is only a horizontally located part - the step itself, in closed ones - there is also a vertical part - risers.

Design codes

When designing a staircase, it is important to make it comfortable and safe. There are very specific numbers and recommendations that relate to the parameters of the steps and the general angle of ascent:

The number of steps is determined by elementary dividing the height of the planned staircase by the chosen height of the riser. For example, the height of the room is 285 cm. It was decided to make the angle of elevation 40°. According to the table, we see that the height of the riser is 19 cm. We divide 285 cm / 19 cm = 15 steps. If the number turns out to be even, we slightly adjust the size accordingly to get an odd number.

If one of the steps turns out to be several centimeters smaller, this height is “taken away” from the first step. All others, including the last one, should be the same.

When choosing the size of steps, comfort can be checked. If the double height of the riser is added to the selected step width, the result should be from 60 ms to 64 cm. The second test option is that the sum of the lengths of the tread and the riser is optimally 45 cm, but deviations of 2 cm in both directions are acceptable.

All these parameters should be taken into account when designing a house. If the house has already been built, you have to proceed from the fact that there is and adjust the dimensions to the existing dimensions.

Spiral staircase

As already mentioned, a spiral staircase in a private house takes up the least space. But she has a serious drawback: it is inconvenient to walk on it, and it is almost impossible to lift anything bulky to the second floor. So they are not very popular, although they look good and fit well into any interior.

Calculation features

When designing a spiral staircase, one must take into account that in some positions, there are other steps above the head. Therefore, making small risers will not work.

The next feature is that the steps all have an unequal width - narrower on one side, wider on the other. The narrow part they are attached to the central support (pillar), the wide part - to the walls or balusters. The standard for the width of the tread is measured in the middle part, and the wide one should not be more than 40 cm.

The span width is from 50 cm to 100 cm. Double the distance goes to the entire structure - a square with a side of 100 cm to 200 cm is required.

Construction on a prefabricated column

This type of spiral staircase is the easiest to make: a pipe is placed on which wooden elements are put on - steps, intermediate cylinders, etc.

If you look in more detail, then in addition to the metal pipe (in this case, 40 mm in diameter), steps and balusters (available in any design), there are turned wooden cylinders (segments) that set the distance from one step to another.

On the other hand, the distance between the steps is maintained with the help of cuts on the balusters. Steps are attached to these grooves (on glue + fasteners).

Do-it-yourself installation of stairs to the second floor begins with the installation of a pillar. In the floor of the first floor and the ceiling of the second, a hole is made equal to the diameter of the pillar. We insert the pipe into the hole, put on an enlarged washer, tighten the nut. Further, the assembly is simple: the corresponding elements are mounted on the rod, in parallel with the installation of the step, the baluster is placed and fixed. The dimensions of the steps for this spiral staircase with the given parameters are in the drawing.

Steps are cut from glued board or furniture board. You can use an array, but of furniture quality, that is, without any defects and dried, with a moisture content of not more than 8-12%. Although glued wood is considered more reliable: it definitely will not lead and it will not crack during shrinkage.

An example of an assembly of such a design, see the video. It has a prefabricated pillar, but you can also use a solid one, although it will be inconvenient to assemble the steps - you will have to climb the stairs every time.

The design of a metal spiral staircase is presented in the following video fragment. For those who are friends with welding, this option will be easier.

Staircase to the second floor

Marching stairs are the most popular. Firstly, they are convenient to use, and secondly, the technology of their construction has long been worked out. There are few features of the calculation. It is important to determine the number of marches. In one section there should be from 3 to 15 steps. The most convenient have 11-13 pieces. If, according to the calculation, it turns out that there should be more steps, they are divided into several sections, between which platforms are made. The dimensions of the platforms are a multiple of the step length (600-630 mm). Then the ascent and descent will not cause inconvenience.

Kinds

Ladders with platforms take up quite a lot of space. If there is not enough space, add turns. The most common option is to place the stairs along two adjacent walls at the corners. Also, to save space, you can make winder (turning) steps instead of a platform. Only one point: the section with winder steps is the most traumatic. If the family has small children or elderly people, it is better to make a playground.

As mentioned earlier, mid-flight stairs are made on stringers (beams with a sawtooth edge) and on terraces (just an inclined beam). Fastening steps to bowstring beams requires more time and skill. Usually, a “seat” is cut out for each step - a groove is selected in the board. For additional reliability, bars are still nailed from below or corners are installed. The option with corners is reliable, but rather controversial from an aesthetic point of view. If the whole staircase is made of wood, the metal parts are very "cut" the look. Carefully processed bars look much more organic. However, with sufficient thickness of the boards for the steps and the width of the bowstring, you can do without additional fasteners. In this case, it is important that the steps do not bend, otherwise they may pop out of the grooves.

The assembly of steps on stringers is simpler: you have two or three supports, to which parts cut to size are attached. The main task is to correctly mark and cut out the stringers.

This is a ladder on stringers - one of the fragments of the assembly

Installation of a marching staircase with step by step photos

Stringers are made from a wide board 75-80 mm thick and 350-400 mm wide. If there is no massive dry board, glued boards can be used. How to calculate the kosour is described in the form, but it is possible to assemble a staircase to the second floor not only as a separate one.

An example of assembling a ladder on the stringers next to the wall. First, we fix the support pillars on which the winder steps will rest. We attach the upper stringers to these pillars.

Then we put the bottom. We fasten the kosour near the wall on top of a decorative board - it is easier to wash it and the dirt is less visible than on the wall.

We fasten the lower stringers - one to the pole, the second to the finishing board

Intermediate stringers are installed last. This makes it easier to connect all the elements.

The steps are being installed. After they are cut, sanded and painted, everything is simple: put in place, drill a hole for a self-tapping screw, then twist it.

The next step is attaching the balusters. In this case, they are made of stainless steel pipe with wooden inserts. A hole is drilled under each baluster, into which a tube is inserted, it is fixed on a hairpin or in any other available way.

The spiral staircase not only looks chic, but also very practical.

In this article we will consider the types of stairs to the second floor, their advantages and disadvantages. We will also understand the installation requirements, consider the materials and a brief description.

Requirements for the installation of stairs

There are a variety of types of stairs to the second floor. At the same time, the choice of design should be decided at the stage of developing a house project. As for their type and material of manufacture, they depend not only on design standards, but also on the design, as well as the area of \u200b\u200bthe room. The approach to the stairs should be convenient, and the ascent should be as comfortable as possible.

Convenient location of the stairs to the second floor

The current SNiPs indicate that the choice of dimensions and location depends on:

  • the minimum allowable distance from the stairs to the end of the corridor (at least 1.6 m);
  • the smallest indicator of the width of the march of the future design (varies from 1.05 to 1.2 m);
  • the maximum slope of the march (not higher than 45 o);
  • the ideal number of climbs in one march (at least two);
  • the number of steps in one march (in the range from 13 to 18 pieces);
  • the width of the platform between marches (not less than the width of one march).

Important! These provisions apply only to structures inside residential premises. It is necessary to draw boundaries between internal stairs, technical and external. For the latter, these requirements may differ.

Everything else is a flight of fancy. And, it is worth noting, now on the market you can find unusual and even strange offers.

Original stairs are sometimes not very practical.

Varieties of stairs to the second floor

When choosing stairs, there are many factors to consider:

  • design (with or without rotation);
  • location (in the center of the room or against the wall);
  • technical possibility (stationary or folding);
  • price;
  • material (concrete, wood, glass, etc.).

The most popular and convenient designs are: 1. L-shaped. Very common due to its simplicity. As a basis, two marches are taken, which are located at an angle of 90 degrees to each other. The marches are connected by an intermediate platform. This design has one turn.

An example of an L-shaped staircase to the second floor.

2. U-shaped. It is optimal to use in large rooms, as it is more bulky in comparison with the previous type. Usually it is placed in houses with a high height between floors.

The space under such a staircase can be equipped with a comfortable and roomy closet.

3. Marching. Simple, but the most cumbersome design of all.

Despite the simplicity of design, this type of stairs can look very elegant.

4. Screw. Optimal for small spaces. It looks aesthetically pleasing, although it is somewhat inconvenient when lifting in comparison with other options. But they are the most compact. 5. On the bolts. 6. On strings. 7. Modular.

Advice! If you are limited in space, choose a screw design (with a turn). There is a wide variety of styles and shapes, so you can easily find the right one.

As for concrete stairs, they are rarely installed in private homes. Often these are external stairs. Let's take a closer look at some types of structures.

screw

Spiral staircases are installed where it is necessary to save space, and where a straight staircase simply does not fit. . Not the most convenient option to use. Often, such structures are mounted in the basement or for access to the attic. Aesthetically, they look very impressive. They are made in the form of a square, circle or polygon, or with a smooth turn. If it is located in the basement, the concrete base will be the most reliable. The material of manufacture can be almost any. It is possible to order metal products with plastic, wooden, glass or brick steps. It can also be made entirely of stone, metal, wood. But not everyone can afford a staircase with a turn. The complexity of manufacturing and installation significantly affects its price.

A spiral staircase can become a real decoration of the interior.

marching

This type of stairs has become the most popular, thanks to:

  • the simplicity of the design itself and its installation;
  • taking into account the mechanics of human movement. This gives comfort and convenience during the descent and ascent.

The main feature of mid-flight stairs is that they are installed only where there is a lot of free space: at least 3 sq.m. However, there is an opportunity to save space. For this, turning stairs with intermediate platforms are used. At first glance, such designs are quite complicated, but quite realistic. The most popular are single-march and two-march designs.

Examples of single-flight and double-flight stairs

Production material - concrete, plastic, stone, wood, glass or combinations thereof. It is possible to make a staircase using bricks. To date, for the stability of the foundation .

Bolts stairs

The name comes from the German "Bolzen" (bolt). The advantage of this type is ease of installation. Often, steel is used as a material, which greatly simplifies the fastening of some elements. The diameter and number of steel rods affects the strength of the structure. The rods can be mounted in the ceiling, walls, floor or interior partition. Such ladders are compact and economical. The main requirement for them is the location near a solid concrete wall. When choosing the type of stairs, great importance is given to its design. It can be performed on bowstrings or bolts. Sometimes they are combined. To give the product a noble look, choose bowstrings. These are the beams that provide the steps with support from the bottom and sides. Bolts are metal fasteners that hold the steps in the wall during the frameless construction of stairs.

The staircase on the bolts will perfectly fit into the modern interior.

To form the frame, metal elements are used, the steps are made of metal, concrete, wood, glass, reinforced concrete bricks. In appearance, they turn out to be light and fragile, however, they can withstand severe loads (up to 1.5 tons). This, coupled with a minimal set of components, makes them attractive. Usually this is a single-flight staircase. Bolts ladder installation

Structural designs

The most elegant type of stairs, in which the steps are attached to the support beam from the inside. The ascent and descent along them is very convenient, but the installation is laborious, which limits their use in the case of individual construction. You can familiarize yourself with the features of installing such a design at. The material of manufacture is almost any, except for concrete.

Modular stairs

Modular stairs to the second floor are popular because they have a number of advantages:

  • affordable installation price;
  • the possibility without special skills due to the simple design;
  • good compatibility with any finishing materials;
  • the ability to assemble structures of any type: screw, angular, combined configuration;
  • possibility of installation in rooms with any height of ceilings.

They can be with or without rotation. The word "module" is the key word that covers the whole concept. The system is prefabricated: it is assembled from parts that are combined with each other. Thus, U-shaped and L-shaped stairs can be made. If necessary, the modules can be adjusted, making it possible to individually select the height of the lift, its geometry, and form a peculiar shape of the structure. It can be steep in the ascent if you're comfortable with it. Assembling a modular ladder

There are the following types of modules for the installation of a ladder structure:
  • welded (cast). Pipes of different heights and diameters are placed on each side of the module;
  • made of two components: a long pipe with a plate for fixing steps and a welded part with short pipes;
  • consisting of several separate components that do not have welds.

The assembly of this ladder is similar to the designer, the installation is carried out independently, and it is not necessary to have special knowledge. The instruction is included with the product. Assembly takes several hours and is carried out by one or two people.

Features of materials and installation location of the stairs

Wood in the manufacture of staircases is the most common material due to its environmental friendliness. However, according to fire safety requirements, the number of marches for wooden structures should be a maximum of two, that is, with one turn.

Classic wooden staircase.

But concrete stairs are made only in extreme cases. Usually they can be found only in apartment buildings.

Important! The moisture content of wood used for construction is very important: its level should not exceed 15%. Otherwise, over time, the steps will creak.

Metal is a strong and durable material. But stairs are almost never all-metal - it turns out to be too heavy a structure. To reduce weight, metal is combined with wood, glass or stone.

An example of a combination of a metal staircase and wooden steps.

An important point when choosing the type of structure is the place of its installation. For example, a wide and bright staircase made of plastic or wood is more suitable for the hallway. This will make it possible to visually expand the room. The use of bricks is not allowed here. For small spaces, a folding ladder is suitable. The vast majority of such structures are made of aluminum or wood. Since a folding ladder must withstand heavy loads, it is better if it is made of hardwood. Accordion designs are the most convenient, since they are easy to remove to the second floor. By the way, folding stairs are perfect for climbing to the attic.

A folding ladder is a very practical and simple solution.

Retractable design is an ideal way to optimize space and the ability to isolate the entrance to the second floor. To optimize space, the space under the stairs can be used for shelving or cabinets. It is also necessary to think over the lighting of these staircases.

Idea! A folding ladder will perfectly save space and allow you to add a “zest” to the interior.

Summing up

Of course, the design and creation of a ladder structure is best left to professionals. They will be able to make it safe and convenient for operation. Concrete, iron, wooden, brick stairs any of your ideas can be realized. Be that as it may, the design must meet the following criteria:

  • be durable and withstand heavy loads;
  • Stationary Metal stairs for a private house

Choosing a place to place the stairs in a private house is necessary even at the earliest stages of the project.

After all, it is the staircase structure that is almost the most important object in such buildings. How to choose the best site? In fact, this is a whole science, because due to an illiterately placed staircase, the owners will have a lot of problems in the future.

Basic principles of stair placement

Sometimes you can find the statement of experts that the ladder should be installed next to the technical premises. For example, with a bathroom. But this is not true, since there is always a draft near the stairs. Accordingly, a person, leaving the bathroom, is "blown" by the wind and undermines his health.

It is better if the stairs are located away from rooms that perform important functions. It is optimal to place it in the hall or in the corridor.

If we take into account the moment presented above, we can name the basic rules for choosing a place for stairs. They are:

  • 1. The ladder should be located near the front door. It's much more convenient. In order to immediately go upstairs when entering the house, you do not have to go through other rooms;
  • 2. Most often, owners are forced to save space. Therefore, stairs are chosen, the angle of which is about 45 °. If the angle is greater, the stairs will become dangerous for movement. If less, it will require an unforgivably large amount of space;
  • 3. The descent of the stairs should go directly to the door or at least to the hall. Sometimes they try to hide the ladder by turning it down to the wall. Perhaps it is beautiful in terms of design. But on the other hand, it is impractical, since such an arrangement makes it much more difficult to lift and lower large items;
  • 4. On intermediate floors, it is desirable to place adjacent flights of stairs next to each other. This also applies to situations where you need to install a staircase to the second floor and at the same time to the basement;
  • 5. If elderly people live in the house, high stairs should be made with platforms where you can relax. It is also convenient if you need to move any large loads. Since it can be problematic to immediately bring heavy objects upstairs even on mid-flight stairs.

It is clear that it is extremely rare to follow all the rules and get an ideal design. But the owner must at least strive to comply with the most important requirements presented above. Then the stairs will be practical, and living is safe.

The construction of two-story houses is more preferable in conditions of a small area of land. During construction, some building materials are saved, and the functionality of such buildings is much higher. A very important point in is the drawing up of a plan and the designation of stairs on it, without which existence in the house would be meaningless.

The project of a two-story cottage with the original location of the stairs

It must be understood that the smaller the opening, the steeper the ladder should be placed. Steep structures, as a rule, are installed in summer cottages, where traffic from floor to floor is not too intense, but for residential buildings such stairs can cause discomfort to residents.

Varieties of stairs

By design, the following types of stairs are distinguished:

  • Marching straight lines;
  • Marching with a turn;
  • Screw;
  • Curvilinear.

Let's consider each type in more detail and find out their functional features.

Marching stairs

Scheme of the device of the flight ladder

These stairs leading to the second floor are the most common and familiar in our opinion, however, they require the most usable area in the house. If, during the design, the flight of stairs is too long, then the plan and the designation on it of the stairs are divided into several parts, and at the same time it is converted into a turning one.

Turning stairs are divided into L-shaped and U-shaped. In the first case, the turn between marches will be a right angle, and in the second case - 180 degrees. To make the stairs more compact, the space between the flights is equipped with a step, which slightly reduces the comfort when moving. You should choose a specific option, taking into account the plan of the house and its design features.

Device of a spiral staircase

Such stairs are considered the most compact, and can be made from both wood and metal.

Existing types and types of stairs

Spiral marches allow such stairs to be placed literally on several square meters. In addition, the device of the spiral staircase looks very attractive and gives the interior a special look. Among the shortcomings, some difficulties in operation can be noted due to the fact that the steps are running.

When creating a plan for a spiral staircase, it should be understood that it will not be possible to transport bulky cargo to the second floor along it, and also that you cannot equip the place under it in a useful way.

In relation to residential private houses, the design of a spiral staircase is rarely used. Much more often, it is erected as an interior decoration or another place for transporting people to the upper level. It is also worth noting that with the help of a screw structure, houses for temporary stay are also equipped.

A properly designed staircase fits perfectly into the interior and is as convenient as possible to use.

The staircase allows you to organize access to the upper floors of the building, it is also part of the interior. With its help, you can give the room your own special style. The calculation of the stairs to the second floor can be done independently, if you know how.

Calculation of stairs, highlights

Is it possible to do the calculation without the help of qualified specialists? Can. In order to calculate the stairs to the second floor, you need the desire and basic knowledge of school geometry. Although the advice of professionals will not hurt. Also, for the calculation, you can use special computer programs.

What is important for the calculation of the ladder structure? The correct calculation of the stairs is carried out taking into account the layout and size of the rooms. This will affect the choice of location and type of staircase. Do not forget that for an interfloor staircase, not only the area on the ground floor is important, but also the ability to provide a convenient staircase on the upper level.

Staircase in the plan of a two-story house.

At the first stage, you need to take into account the following points:

  • height from the first floor to the second (room height);
  • total area of premises (first and second levels);
  • location of load-bearing and interior walls;
  • location of door and window openings.

This will allow you to determine the size of the area that can be allocated for the construction of stairs, the size of the opening for access to the second floor and select the optimal model.

If the area for installing the stairs has dimensions of 160x160 cm or more, then it is better to choose a marching staircase. If you have a more modest area, then you will have to limit yourself to a screw design.

A spiral staircase can be placed in the corner of the room.

Straight stairs

A straight flight of stairs (flight) is the easiest option for installation and calculation. This form is very convenient for a wooden structure. Direct marches have one drawback - for their installation it is required to allocate a significant area of \u200b\u200bthe room.

To rationally use the space, the place under the stairs is often equipped with a closet, cabinets and even latrines.

Correctly draw up a project and accurately perform the calculation will help generally accepted norms and building standards. For example, if a staircase has an interlevel platform, then its width should correspond to the width of the span. At the same time, the minimum width of the march is 0.7 m. One person can go down or up such a ladder.

For comfortable movement of two people, as well as for convenient transportation to the second floor of large items, such as furniture, household appliances, the width of the flight of stairs should be greater - from 1.2 to 1.4 m.

The dependence of the throughput and convenience of the stairs on the width of the march.

The length of one straight section with steps should not exceed 3 m (the minimum size is approximately 1.5 m). The steps must be the same height and depth.

Turning stairs

In order to save space in the house, most stairs to the second floor have to be made with turning sections. The easiest way to turn is to mount the platform. There are U-shaped and L-shaped designs, where the turn is implemented using winder steps.

Important parameters of the stairs that need to be calculated:

  • the value of the angle of inclination;
  • the size of the site between marches;
  • step height;
  • depth of straight and winder (if provided) steps;
  • fencing options.

Angle of inclination of the flight of stairs

The angle of inclination of the stairs is the angle between the flight of stairs and the horizontal (floor). It is he who is primarily responsible for the convenience of the staircase structure. The angle of inclination should allow a person to easily go down / up the stairs.

Depending on the angle of inclination, the ladder is used for one purpose or another.

Building codes and regulations (SNiP) define the optimal parameters of stairs: the most convenient and safe are staircase structures with an angle of inclination in the range of 30-45 degrees. It is these slopes that are chosen for home and outdoor stationary stairs. If this angle is less than 20 degrees, a ramp is installed.

How to calculate the parameters of the step

When calculating the staircase structure to the second floor, two values are important: the height of the step and the depth of the tread (horizontal step platform). These parameters determine the degree of convenience and safety when moving (ascent / descent) on the stairs. It is important to determine them correctly, since these values are involved in the calculation of the structure.

It is convenient to climb the steps when there is no need to artificially increase or decrease the step length. The average step length when moving along a horizontal plane is 63-64 cm, and when lifting - and 31.5-32 cm.

The step size of the average person.

Based on these data, the height of the riser is most often in the range from 12 to 20 cm (the optimal size is 14-17 cm). The optimal tread depth is determined from 25 to 30 cm. The maximum step depth allowed during the construction of stairs is 32 cm.

Often, in order to save space when installing ladder structures, models are used with one step overhanging another. This type of steps gives the stairs a lighter and more beautiful look.

Calculation of the dimensions of the steps of the flight of stairs

Consider a variant of calculating the main parameters using a simple example. The optimal ratios of the height and depth of the steps that are used in the design of stairs (cm): 19/27, 18/28, 17/29 and 16/30. The ideal option is 17/29 cm.

We use this ratio to calculate such important design parameters as the angle of inclination, the length of the march, the total number of steps.

The number of steps is easy to calculate: the height of the floor (for example, 270 cm) must be divided by the height of the step (17 cm): 270/17= 15.9. We discard the fractional part, we get the number of steps on the flight of stairs (15 pieces). If the number is fractional, what can the first or last step be made a little higher or a little lower than the rest.

To eliminate the difference, you can also install a special podium under the stairs.

Specify the height of the steps. To do this, we divide the height of the room by the number of steps: 270/15 \u003d 18 cm. Thus, the height of each step is 18 cm.

Depth is calculated taking into account the horizontal step width. We select for calculation a step equal to 63 cm. From this value we subtract twice the height of the tread: 63-2x18 \u003d 27 cm.

We calculate the area and angle of inclination

Now you can calculate how much space the stairs to the second floor will take. It is necessary to determine the projection area of the flight of stairs on a horizontal plane. It has the shape of a rectangle, one of the sides of which is equal to the width of the steps (d), and the second (b) is the projection of the length of the march onto the horizontal.

Rectangle sparing formula: S = b x d.

The length of the larger side of the rectangle (b) is obtained by multiplying the depth of the steps by their number: 27x15 = 405 cm. The smaller side of the rectangle (d) is equal to the width of the stairs and is chosen independently. It should be noted that the minimum size for the movement of one person is 70 cm, for two at least 100 cm.

For convenience, the stairs in the drawings should be presented in 3 projections.

Now you can start calculating the length of the flight of stairs. In this simple calculation, the well-known school formula (the Pythagorean theorem) will come to the rescue. The length of the march is the hypotenuse of a right triangle (c), the legs of which are the height of the room (a) and the horizontal projection of the span (b):

c2 = a2 + b2 = 2702+4052

And the desired length (hypotenuse) is equal to the square root of the sum of the squares of the legs, i.e. c = 486.7 cm or 486 cm (we do not take into account the fractional part).

To determine the value of the angle of inclination of the stairs, you will have to remember the school trigonometry course: the sine of the desired angle is equal to the ratio of the floor height (a) to the length of the flight of stairs (c):

cos(α)=a/c, α = arcos(a/c)

After performing calculations using these formulas, we determine the angle of inclination - 370.

Convenient service for the calculation of stair structures

Walling

When developing a staircase project to the second floor, it is worth paying attention to the fence in order to install it correctly. For installation, the following dimensions are important:

  • baluster height;
  • railing length and width.

Fences are an important element. Their standard height (including railings) should be from 90 to 100 cm. If there are children in the house, additional handrails (70-75 cm) should be provided. The design and material of the fence can be any.

For a stair railing, not only reliability is important, but also convenience.

If you build a staircase according to all standards and rules, then it will be comfortable, durable, safe and will last a long time.
