The name of the group has several roots, this is the Chinese revolutionary movement, which later degenerated into the mafia, and the designation of the triple alliance (in sociology, for example); Agia Triada translated from Greek means Holy Trinity.

In the winter of 1999, the group's first recordings were made using one disk and one cassette recorder. They were not particularly distinguished by their quality or originality, but in March Kres (now known as DJ KresBeatz) joined the group and recorded demos using his soundtracks, using better equipment.

Borman (Krasnodar), Staff (Rostov), Paddington (Krasnodar) have also been in the Triad since April, but until 2001, practically nothing happened except a mass of joint parties with drinking alcoholic beverages and smoking non-tobacco cigarettes.

In March 2001, Nigativ left the group and was joined by Dino (Krasnodar) and Mareydo (Krasnodar), who at that time already had several joint musical projects. In this lineup, the Triad performs only once, at the Adidas Streetball Challenge 2001, the participants practically do not communicate with each other until June, when, thanks to the efforts of Mareydo, Nigativ returns to the group. Active work begins on writing new tracks; the backbone of the group at that time consists of Nigativ, Dino and Mareydo.

Mareydo is carried away by a number of family and everyday troubles, Flip (Krasnodar) joins the Triad. At Flip’s home studio, as part of Flip-Nigative-Dino, the tracks “My Religion”, “What the Stars Are Talking About”, “At a Dead End” are recorded, which cause serious excitement among connoisseurs of Russian rap.

On June 12, 2002, the Triad performed for the last time as a three-member team. From this moment on, the creative paths of Nigativ, Dino and Flip diverge; only the first two members remain in the group. The whole next year is spent in constant rehearsals, writing many new tracks, etc.

Solo creativity

In addition to participating in the Triad group, Vladimir released two double solo albums. In June 2006, the album “Dew Point” (2 CDs) was released; in 2010 and 2011, respectively, the second solo album was released in two parts: “Fulcrum. White Tom" (released October 1, 2010) and "Fulcrum. Black Tom" (February 17, 2011). Nigativ's album "Dew Point" became the first double disc in the history of Russian rap. At the beginning of 2013 he released the EP “Simple”.

Nickname

About the origin of the pseudonym “Nigative”:

...it wasn’t me who chose it, it was my long-time friend, Lev Paddington, who put some effort into the pseudonym. The fact is that in my youth (probably sounds terrible!) at the university they gave me the nickname “Negro”. Once I came to the exam in full dress: in a black suit, black shirt, black, in general. Leo says: “Oh! And I understood! You are now actually a black man in a white suit, only as if it were a negative photograph!” And then “negative” grew into “Niggativ”, because translated from English “negro” sounds like “nigga”. By the way, this story is discussed on the Triad DVD.

In 2013, the project of the trio of parodies “Barada” was organized, consisting of three: Egor aka Egorka, Nich and Tisha. Behind the names are Nigativ, Revansh and Bulat aka One-bula, respectively.

Nigativ is the stage name of the Russian rap artist Vladimir Afanasyev, a talented and multifaceted person. He managed to prove himself as a member of musical groups and as a successful solo performer. Thanks to the acting talent shown in the videos, he got into cinema, and his passion for literature grew into the publication of his own book.

Childhood and youth

Vladimir Afanasyev was born on December 4, 1981 in the Krasnodar region, in the village of Uspenskaya. He comes from an educated and creative family: his father is an artist and his mother teaches mathematics. The boy attended school approximately and graduated with a medal. Vladimir was always attracted to exact sciences, so he entered a technical institute at the faculty of quantum electronics.

As a child, Afanasyev was a member of the Cossack choir for 10 years. He remembers this part of his life with constant warmth and gratitude. Then he also mastered playing the button accordion, trumpet, guitar and balalaika, however, by the musician’s own admission, he did not properly master any instrument.

The future performer became interested in rap in high school, and wrote his first songs in this genre in the 90s. After graduating from university, Vladimir changed several jobs (at one time he even worked at an aerospace agency), but in 1997 he decided to take up creativity professionally.

Music

Teaming up with an old friend, Afanasyev created the group Triple V and gradually began performing in front of the public. Then he and his friends wrote songs in English, considering it more modern and interesting. In 1998, the young team teamed up with Krasnodar rapper Skato and took the name B.D.X., but the collaboration did not work out: the guys did not find a common language and broke up after the first concert with the new lineup.

The pseudonym Nigativ was invented during his student days. Friends nicknamed the musician Negro because of his love for black clothes. When Vladimir once again came to the exam in a dark suit, a friend told him that he looked like a negative photograph. Over time, the nickname grew into a stage name; the spelling with an “and” goes back to the English word “nigga.”

In the early 2000s, Vladimir was invited to join the team. Participation in it brought the musician his first great success. The group released their debut album in 2003 with a circulation of only 10 copies, but after performing at the Rap Music festival they were noticed by representatives of record companies. The musicians were offered a 3-year contract with the Karavan Music label, and the next album, “Antidote,” went to wider audiences. The video for the song “Dead City” was included in MTV rotation.

Critics considered the philosophical nature of the songs to be the strength of “Triad,” thanks to which the group formed a specific audience. In total, the group’s discography included 6 full-length albums, the best of which is considered “Orion” released in 2005.

Nigativ pursued his solo career simultaneously with his work in the group. His debut album was called “Dew Point”, and he called his work “rap and blues”. The second collection “Fulcrum” was released in 2 parts – “Black Volume” and “White Volume”. In 2006, the Rap.ru website included Afanasyev in the ranking of the 10 best rappers in Russia.

After 4 years, Vladimir shoots the first video for the song “Understood”. Fans appreciated his acting abilities and advised him to try himself in films. The rapper's first role was as an unnamed tractor driver in an episode of the series "Archer", aired on Channel One. In 2014, Nigativ was one of the jury members at the Pit Bull Battle project, where young rap artists presented their music.

In 2018, Nigativ appeared in an episode of “Real Boys” and played very convincingly, even managing to portray the character’s specific speech. On the set, he became friends with the actors and later invited them to participate in the filming of the video for the new hit “Weightlessness.”

In April 2018, Triad announced its breakup, explaining that its members had already grown into independent creative individuals who wanted to go their own way. From this moment, a new stage in Nigativ’s biography begins - work as part of the Barada group. According to the rapper, with the collapse of Triad, nothing has changed in his life, except that he has more time for personal projects.
