Plaster map of the world: technology and methods of applying with your own hands. Instructions for applying textured plaster Applying decorative plaster three-layer world map

The style of the interior is enhanced in many ways. One of them is a decorative plaster map of the world. It looks fashionable, stylish and expensive. It is used as finishing finishing of facades of buildings and internal rooms.

Types and composition

Decorative plaster world map has a special textured basis. This material contains a lime mixture, sand, marble chips (not as large as in) and a number of other components. After that, the outlines of continents, islands, seas and oceans appear on the wall.

In addition to the advantages, the composition also has disadvantages. Chief among them is the cost. A lot of time and effort will also be required if the stucco map of the world, copying the natural stone travertine, will be subject to dismantling.

There are also requirements for surface preparation. By neglecting some rules, you can program failure at the very beginning. For example, you can not skip the mandatory step - processing with a special quartz primer.

Tools Used

The process of applying a structural coating with your own hands is not easy. Moreover, if it is a decorative plaster map of the world, not everyone can decorate the wall with their own hands.

First you need to stock up on a tool:

  • Special Venetian trowel;
  • Stainless steel trowel;
  • Foam soft roller;
  • Sponge;
  • Sandpaper;
  • Brushes.

Don't forget accessories:

  • overalls;
  • covering material;
  • Gloves and goggles for eye protection;
  • Respirator - from dust during the preparation of walls;
  • Stepladder if needed
  • Mix bucket

The size of the tools depends on the amount of work.

Apply the first layer with a large trowel. A medium-sized tool forms a texture, and a small one creates a pattern

Surface pretreatment

If you achieve a dense saturated structure, the consumption will increase by 10-30% from that indicated by the manufacturer.

Bas-relief on the wall with your own hands

You can create a bas-relief map of the world from plaster on the wall. This does not require the use of special mixtures; conventional gypsum-based mixtures can be used. are used because they have significantly less shrinkage and drying.

There are two ways to create a bas-relief:

  1. According to the picture
  2. using a special stencil. The cost of such a stencil starts from 5000 rubles.

Let's consider the first option. the second will differ only in the absence of the need to do the drawing with your own hands.

Step-by-step creation of a bas-relief world map:

  1. Align and putty the wall. The main plane of the surface will later emit seas and oceans, which means that the surface should be prepared with high quality
  2. Apply primer. Use a deep penetration primer
  3. Prepare a sketch. For the first time, the drawing must be applied in cells. Draw the plane of the bas-relief and the drawing that you transfer in squares to scale to each other (i.e., the number and location of the squares should be the same). Then complete the drawing by transferring the main points along the cells. In childhood, many learned to draw like this.
  4. Prepare a gypsum mixture and apply it to the surface creating continents and islands. You need to apply in several stages, you should not immediately try to make large mountains. Create the relief of the continent, and after it has dried, make large mountains, riverbeds and canyons on it, while the elements are molded manually or with the help of a tool.
  5. The last layer is made with the finishing composition. At this stage, the gaps between the surface and the bas-relief are closed, additional lines are drawn. When it dries, sanding is performed, then the result is primed and covered with paint.

The solution should have a fairly thick consistency that allows you to “sculpt” on the wall.

Gypsum mortars dry very quickly, so use small amounts.

The tool required for the bas-relief is not complicated:

  • Spatulas of various sizes
  • Palette knives - for hard-to-reach and complex reliefs
  • Mix container

It is good to use half of a children's rubber ball as a container. It is easy to wash from the remnants of the dried solution.

The strength of the bas-relief is provided by reinforcement, therefore, in the thickest places, dowels are attached or screws are screwed in.

The "Map of the World" plaster used in the interior is an eco-friendly material with an interesting texture and great aesthetic possibilities. This is both a three-dimensional image in the form of a panel, and a relief coating with different finishes. The pattern created with this material will play a key role in your interior.

Video. An example of drawing a map of the world over large areas.

Decorative plaster world map is a special texture, which is obtained by using certain lime mixtures. To achieve this effect, structural decorative plaster will be required, after work, with which a coating will be obtained, which resembles islands and continents on a globe. Looking at the finished coating, you will surely have an association with a world map.

Selection of products and working tools

There are several manufacturers that produce the coating of the same name, thanks to which the effect of a world map is created. There are two ways to go about finding the right solution. You should look for products that have a "map of the world" in their name. In this case, you will be sure that decorative plaster is specifically designed to create the effect of the same name. In the second case, you need to purchase a material that imitates natural travertine stone. With its help, a "map of the world" is also created. The technology of work in both cases is the same and practically does not differ in any way.

Decorative plaster is applied to the world map using certain tools:

  • stainless steel spatula,
  • Venetian trowel or alloy steel trowel,
  • small pile roller
  • foam roller,
  • sponge.

Surface preparation for the main work

The work surface must be flat and smooth. Only in this case you will be able to get a beautiful effect of the world map, or as it is also called "islands". Work is carried out on a clean and puttied surface. The solution is snow-white, so the work is performed only with stainless steel tools. Otherwise, rust may appear on the coating. For the same reason, there should be no protruding metal on the wall, otherwise the result will be “rusty islands”.

The surface should be primed twice. The first layer is applied with a pile roller. Deep penetration primer dries for 12 hours. If the decorative plaster is a map of the world with the effect of travertine, then the first layer is not necessary. For good adhesion, a primer with fine-grained quartz sand is used. It should be applied with a foam roller so that the sand lays down as evenly as possible.

Applying the first layer - all the nuances

Works are carried out with a snow-white solution, which does not require preliminary tinting. The first layer of structural decorative plaster is applied to the thickness of the fraction that is present in it. The layer thickness is usually 1.5-2 mm. Since the material is sold in buckets, we collect it from there during work. However, it is inconvenient to do this with a trowel, so the decorative plaster is picked up with a spatula, and then transferred to the trowel, so many times that the solution covers the entire edge of the working tool. Next, rub it with a trowel on the wall. Evenly and without joints. Strongly smooth the solution is not required.

The resulting first layer does not require smoothing. Depending on the material used, it may be necessary to walk over the wet plaster with a fine pile roller. This is done so that the decorative plaster of the world map is covered with a fur coat. This enhances the decorative effect of the first coating. However, often the granular structure of the solution is quite sufficient, and it is not required to work with a roller.

Material consumption is 1.6-1.8 kg per 1 sq.m. (on both layers). In other words, a 25kg package should be enough for 14-15 square meters of wall. If you have an area of 1-2 sq.m. more, then you don’t need to buy another solution for nothing, because a 25 kg bucket can be diluted with water (the manufacturer indicates the permissible limits). In this case, there will be a little more decorative plaster.

After the first coat has dried, it may need to be sanded. It is not necessary to make the surface smooth, because the grain structure of the material should be visible. Such a procedure is often required if a fur coat was created with a roller. In this case, the solution is always drawn out, and may create an unnecessary relief. Walking along the wall with sandpaper, you can easily get rid of such a relief. The resulting first layer will serve as the substrate.

Applying the second layer and creating a world map

There are several techniques by which the second layer can be created. We will consider in detail the option that creates the most expressive effect. Decorative plaster map of the world is applied to the wall with local islands. To do this, a small amount of mortar is collected with the edge of the trowel, and then transferred to the wall. Immediately after this, the material is rubbed over the surface, and small islands are created. The more uneven the edges of such an island are, the more expressive the drawing will be in the end.

It is important that the trowel is always clean and that little material is applied. In this case, the texture is formed immediately after each application of the solution to the wall. It is necessary to smear decorative plaster carefully, leaving a distance between the islands. We do not pursue the goal of creating large "pieces of land", because random small inclusions will look very impressive.

You can always apply the same amount of mortar to the trowel. Do not be afraid that the picture will turn out to be of the same type, it is not. However, for variety, you can create islands of different sizes.

Already after creating the texture of the world map, it is necessary to carry out glossing - wipe the surface with a trowel. You just need to press the trowel over the dried surface with pressure. It's like polishing, only with more effort. As a result, the outer edge should be even and smooth. It is for glossing that we need a trowel made of alloy steel, because another material can blacken the coating. Our solution is white, and it is too early to change color. Some advise doing the glossing twice with an interval of five minutes.

Since the decorative plaster of the world map must be applied with your own hands very quickly, and the texture must be formed at a certain time, it is best to work in tandem with an assistant. Working alone, it is better to gradually process the entire wall in sections of 2-3 square meters. At the same time, torn edges should be left at the joints so that there are no noticeable transitions.

Finishing with wax, varnish or paint

Now we have a snow-white texture, which shows the grainy first layer and the protruding patterns of the second layer. It's time to give it all color. During painting, the first layer of decorative plaster will come out darker, and the second lighter. So it is not even necessary to use different shades. For finishing, in addition to metallic paint, varnish or wax can be used. Pearlescent paint will also work.

When using wax, you will need a regular sponge, which must be damp to work with it. Wax is collected on a sponge, and then rubbed over the entire surface. Decorative plaster of the world map will get a beautiful overflow if the wax is applied in several places at once and rubbed in different directions. However, do not leave the edges torn for a long time. It is desirable that the movements are circular for the most even distribution of wax. After the wax has dried, the coating is ready. Working with varnish is carried out in almost the same way.

You can additionally color the dried wax with paint. For this purpose, you need a foam roller and a small amount of paint on it. Most of the material will remain on the raised parts of the surface, which will make the difference in color even more significant, and the pattern more expressive.

Other options for creating an invoice

The above process gives the most expressive effect of the world map, but it is also very complicated. There are simpler options, they would also be worth paying attention to.

  1. A small amount of mortar is applied to the entire surface of the trowel. Next, the trowel with the entire surface is gently pressed against the wall, then removed. This is done on different parts of the wall until the entire solution from the trowel passes to the wall. We have a kind of fur coat at a short distance from each other. Immediately after applying all the decorative plaster to the wall, it should be smoothed out with a trowel.
  2. Decorative plaster world map can be created with a regular brush. To do this, the brush is dipped into the solution with the tip, and then it touches the wall with it. This is very similar to the first option, but is done with a brush. Then, again, with a trowel, the solution is rubbed on the wall. In this case, the texture can come out very similar. Therefore, you can simply crumple a piece of cloth and wind it with tape, making it look like a brush. Working with such an original tool, you can make the drawing more diverse.
  3. You can apply the second layer with a sponge. The principle of operation is exactly the same as with a brush, but the pattern is more diverse.
  4. Pneumatic tools can also be used. For example, a hopper gun. It is necessary to draw the solution into a container, and then it will be sprayed onto the wall under pressure. It is possible to adjust the obesity with which the material will cover the wall. After that, the solution will need to be rubbed with a trowel. With this application option, you get a map of the world, but without large islands. Such a fine texture can simply be boring.

Original walls without stamps and repetitions, beautiful and stylish, with any pattern and in any shade - this is a decorative textured plaster finish. With the help of one composition, an experienced craftsman can perform many different textures, and by adding colors, he can get absolutely any color scheme. Can a beginner handle this challenge? Yes, you just have to follow specific instructions. Each effect, drawing has its own application technology.

Preparation for application

If you have concrete walls, without coating, then this is great. They need to be coated with a deep penetration primer, after which you can proceed to the decorative coating.

If there were wallpapers on the walls, they must be completely removed. Loose plaster, lagging old paint must be peeled off with a spatula. Dents, cracks puttied, and after drying sanded. When the walls are in a very bad condition - there are holes from fallen pieces of concrete, the junction of the floor and walls is very uneven, then the holes are sealed with mounting foam, which is cut off after drying. From above, such places are puttied or sealed with a leveling mortar.

It is not necessary to make the walls perfectly even, it is important to hide only the defects that will be visible under the textured mixture. Small irregularities will be invisible after applying the relief.

After all obvious irregularities are repaired, the walls are sanded and primed.

Our craftsman used coarse and fine grained skins, VGT primer and a pile roller. The primed walls dry for 3 hours.

Applying the base coat

After the primer dries, you can start applying the first layer of textured plaster.

We used an inexpensive Russian one. The cost for a can of 18 kg is 3100 rubles. Consumption when applying two layers using the "world map" technique is approximately 1.7-2 kg per 1 sq.m.

The plaster is applied with a trowel for plastering work in a thin layer equal to the thickness of the fraction (1.5-2 mm) using a stripping technique, i.e. with even spread. A flat surface should be obtained, uniform over the entire area.

The solution is used in the base white color. It is more convenient to pick it up with a spatula and apply the right amount to the trowel so that the entire edge of the trowel is covered with a solution. And then cover the wall.

After the entire surface of the walls is covered with an even layer, the plaster is left to dry for at least 12 hours. After drying, the surface is slightly sanded, but not to smoothness, a granular structure should remain.

Applying an invoice

In our case, we applied a "world map" pattern - chaotic spots of different textures, or "islands".

The decorative mixture is applied with the same trowel. A small amount of plaster is smeared on it with a spatula, which is smeared with a thin layer with oblique movements, creating separate "islands". The edges of these spots are made uneven, which is achieved by the edge of the trowel.

The more pronounced the roughness of the edges, the more expressive the effect. The remains of the solution are applied in neat short strokes in the form of specks between large spots. This is how large and small "islands" are obtained, between which there are "seas" - the first layer of plaster showing through.

To understand the process, watch our video instructions. You can master the technique by practicing on some surface.

Basic application rules

  • With each new application, the trowel must be clean, the mixture is applied to the edge of the tool.
  • Immediately after transferring a portion of the solution to the wall, the texture is formed.
  • We leave a distance between the "pieces of land". The islands can be either of different sizes or approximately the same, anyway, the walls will be different over the entire surface.
  • If you decide to apply the "world map" plaster with your own hands, then it is better to work with an assistant. During individual work, the surface is processed gradually, in sections of 1-2 square meters.
  • After lightly drying the created relief, it can be rubbed with a trowel, making movements with light pressure.

The applied "world map" texture is left to dry for at least 12 hours. Then primed with a thin layer.

Protective covering

In our project, Russian-made was chosen for protection. Both textured plaster and glazing coating, or one thing, can be painted. We chose the staining of the glazing coating. It's easier, and the color goes less.

We opted for a light silver effect finish and trowel application. Other techniques involve application with a brush, sponge or special mitt. When applied with a spatula, the filling of the stains of the first layer of plaster is higher, but the paint consumption is higher.

To prepare the solution, we took two cans of colorless composition and one can of silver-white (can volume 0.9 l), as well as color F113 for this volume of paint, but added it quite a bit to get a light creamy shade.

Our foreman Vitaliy rubbed the glazing composition with a spatula over the entire surface. The effect of using a spatula is more pronounced spots of the first layer, which are beautifully cast with silver in our case.

Our goal was to make the walls as light as possible in order to visually expand the space of a small room. You can use a protective coating with a different effect and tint it in any shade.

Decorative plaster "world map" - price

We calculate the cost of the material for creating a decorative coating "world map" using the example of a small room with a wall area of 25 square meters. m. So, we needed:

  • Primer - 5 l. Price 500 rubles.
  • Textured plaster - 3 cans of 18 kg. The cost of one can is 3100 rubles. Only 9300 rubles.
  • The cost of color F113 for 2.5 liters of paint is 14 rubles.
  • Glazing composition - 3 cans of 0.9 liters. The price for a jar is 705 rubles. Total 2115 rubles.
The price of decorative plaster "world map" without taking into account the cost of tools and services for applying on a wall area of 25 sq.m - 11929 rubles.

Decorative plaster called "Map of the World" is a very peculiar texture that appears on the surface of the wall when it is covered using a mixture of lime and some components. To achieve this effect, it is necessary to apply structural decorative plaster in the interior, when applied to the wall, a semi-relief textured coating is obtained that looks like the surface of the globe or a globe. It can be viewed from different angles and still the map of the world will always be remembered.

Tools

As with any other job, you will need a certain number of tools to apply.

You will need:

  • spatulas made of stainless steel;
  • trowels (Venetian type or made of alloy steel);
  • short pile roller;
  • foam roller;
  • sponge / rag.

Preliminary preparation

  • First, level the walls on which you will apply the plaster. This is a prerequisite for the desired effect of obtaining a surface that resembles a "world map".
  • The surface must first be covered with putty. It should be borne in mind that the color of the solution is close to snow-white, for this reason only tools made of stainless steel are used in the work. This helps to prevent rust spots from appearing on the surface. For the same reasons, the presence of metal parts is excluded, since in this case the appearance of "islands of rust" is inevitable.
  • The surface is primed twice. First, the primer is applied with a pile roller. This is a layer of deep-penetrating primer and it should dry for at least half a day.
  • When the "world map" is made from "travertine effect" material, the initial layer of deep penetrating primer can be omitted.
  • To obtain a high degree of adhesion, you need to use a primer, which includes sand with a fine grain fraction. It is applied with a foam rubber roller and at the same time monitor the most uniform distribution of the sand layer.

Applying the first layer

As already mentioned, the color of the solution is snow-white or close to it, therefore, it does not require preliminary tinting. The application of decorative structural plaster occurs with the first layer, according to the fraction that is added to it. The standard layer does not exceed 1.5-2 mm.

The standard packing of the mixture is a bucket, respectively, the material should be taken directly from there during the work. They pick it up with a spatula, since a direct set from a bucket with a trowel is not entirely comfortable, for this reason the plaster is transferred to a trowel after a set from a bucket with a spatula. This is done as many times as necessary to cover the surface of the entire edge of the working tool with a solution. The plaster is spread in a layer over the surface of the wall with a trowel.

Rubbing should occur evenly, joints are not allowed. Smoothing the layer of plaster with great pressure is not necessary.

The first layer depends on the material used. Smoothing is done to obtain the so-called "fur coat" on decorative plaster. This serves to enhance the decorative effect of the initial layer. As practice shows, the granular structure of the solution itself often satisfies this requirement, and the use of a “coat” is not necessary.

How much plaster will you need?

On average, the material for two layers is consumed in the range of 1.6-1.8 kg per 1 m2, that is, a package weighing 25 kg should cover the consumption for an area of more than 15 m2 of surface. If the surface area is exceeded by a couple of square meters, dilute the solution with water so as not to spend extra money on the purchase. To increase the volume, a 25 kg container is diluted within the limits specified by the manufacturer (see the manufacturer's instructions on the package).

When the first coat has dried properly, sanding may be necessary. Surfaces should not be mirror-smooth, as the external grain of the plaster must be preserved. Most often, sanding is used when the procedure for creating a "fur coat" is done. With this application, the mixture is “stretched”, as it were, additional recesses and depressions are created, which are best avoided.

Such relief neoplasms are removed with emery, which is used to grind the surface of the wall.

Application of the second layer

The second layer can be applied in several stages. The plaster is applied to the surface of the wall in separate sections.

  • A little mortar is taken on the edge of the trowel and applied to the plane of the wall. Immediately, the plaster is rubbed against the wall to form small "islands".
  • Rough edges, lack of geometric shapes are very important. The more natural and more similar the forms of the “shores of the island” are to natural ones, the higher the expressiveness of the resulting pattern in the end.
  • Try to keep the trowel clean at all times, apply the material in small portions. Immediately after applying part of the solution to the plane of the wall, the formation of the texture will be visible.

  • You should not set yourself the goal of creating huge "continents", since the application of smaller "islands" looks quite impressive, for this reason, leave certain gaps, "straits".
  • The amount of plaster on the trowel can be the same every time, or different. Do not be afraid to get the same type of image, it all depends on your imagination.
  • When the creation of the most textured surface of the plaster is completed, the so-called “glossing” procedure is carried out - grouting the walls with a trowel. It is a process when a light pressure is applied with a trowel and it is led along a dry layer. The process is similar to polishing, but with the difference that more effort is applied. As a result, a smooth and even outer edge is obtained. In the course of the process, an alloy steel trowel is used, since another trowel blackens the surface color (as already mentioned, the color of the solution is white). There are methods when they gloss in two doses with a five-minute interval.

Since the application technique involves high speed, and the formation of the texture occurs within a certain time, we advise you to invite an assistant.

Finishing

After performing the previous operations, a snow-white texture was obtained with visible graininess on the first layer and protruding patterns on the second layer. It is necessary to give the surface a color. The color of the first layer will be a darker shade than the second.

If you plan to use wax, use a damp sponge. Wax is collected on it and rubbed to obtain overflows, which is achieved by applying wax simultaneously in different places and rubbing it in different directions. It is preferable to do circular motions.

The technology of coating the surface with varnishes is almost the same as the above actions. If desired, a layer of dried wax is painted with a foam roller with a small amount of paint. In this case, most of the paint will color the relief parts, emphasizing the color difference and expressiveness of the pattern.

Simplified ways

  1. The trowel is covered with a small amount of solution. It is lightly pressed down with the entire surface to the adjacent sections of the wall surface, while the resulting “fur coat” is smoothed immediately after the end of the plaster supply.
  2. A decorative "world map" can also be created with a brush. Dip the tip of the brush into liquid plaster, then touch the walls with it. We rub the solution on the walls with a trowel. To avoid excessive uniformity, we crumple a piece of rag / rag and make an impromptu brush out of it. This diversifies the drawing.
  3. Alternatively, the second coat can be applied with a sponge instead of a brush.
  4. Use of pneumatic tools is possible. In this case, the solution under pressure is sprayed onto the walls. This method has the advantage that the feed rate and layer thickness can be varied.

Decorative plaster "map of the world" today is successfully used in the design of premises. It is attractive in that its textured base allows you to achieve a very interesting effect. The combination of certain types of lime mixtures provides a basis, thanks to the use of which outlines similar to continents and islands appear on the wall. Hence the name of this type of decorative plaster.

Peculiarities

There are a number of companies that make these products. To buy it, you need to pay attention to the fact that the package says “world map”. With this inscription, you will have no doubt that such a picture will turn out. There is another option that will give the same effect. The coating imitating travertine stone also looks very original and natural.

In the manufacture of this type of coating, environmentally friendly materials are used. The composition of the solution contains slaked lime, marble dust, linseed oils. Due to this texture, a unique pattern is obtained on each wall. It looks stylish and luxurious.

One of the main advantages of high-quality plaster is that it “breathes”. This means that the walls are protected from fungus and mold. The safety of materials makes it possible to design even a nursery in this style. Children will almost certainly like the original coating.

The pluses include the fact that the plaster dries quickly. After a day, it will be possible to evaluate the results of the efforts expended.

The color scheme is very diverse. You can choose a shade for any interior and for every taste.

If the application technology is violated, cracks may appear on the plaster over time. They can be eliminated with a new portion of diluted plaster.

Preparation of tools and surface

To properly apply decorative plaster, you will need to prepare the following:

  • Master OK;
  • shoulder blade
  • foam sponges;
  • soft rollers;
  • brushes and paint;
  • sandpaper.

A spectacular wall in the form of islands can be obtained if you first level it very well and putty it. The surface must be perfectly clean.

A room where the humidity level is quite high is best treated with an antifungal compound. This will be insurance against the negative effects of moisture. To avoid the appearance of rust on a snow-white wall, you need to use a tool made of stainless steel.

First and second layers

The entire surface to be treated is primed twice. The first layer is applied with a trowel. In some cases, it is required to treat the wall with a fleecy roller. Then you can achieve the so-called effect of a fur coat.

When the first layer dries, you will need to go over it with sandpaper. The first layer is just the base. The second layer can be applied in different ways. The most interesting effect can be achieved as follows.

Decorative plaster is applied to the surface in separate fragments. Uneven islands will just create an original pattern.

Important conditions are required: the trowel must always be clean, and the solution is applied to it in a minimum amount. Due to its immediate rubbing, a drawing will be obtained. If each time you take a different amount of solution, then the islands will turn out to be small, medium and large. This is how a beautiful and original map is created.

On the dried surface, then with effort, they are carried out with a trowel. This process is called glossing. The tool must be made of alloy steel so that no black marks are left. Sometimes this procedure is carried out twice, withstanding a time interval of five minutes.

Decorative plasters are different. Coatings can imitate stone, leather, fabric surfaces. This is achieved by using various tools - for example, a spatula with teeth or a soft brush. To create any particular pattern, you can use a template (apply it to the surface). The stamp must be cleaned of plaster every time, moistened with water.

There is one nuance that is very important to consider when applying this plaster. It is necessary to apply and form drawings quickly so that the plaster does not have time to dry. For this reason, it is more convenient to carry out such work together. If you have to cope on your own, you need to do everything gradually, from one area to another, and not process the entire surface at once.

Final finishing

After applying the plaster, the first white layer is visible on the wall, on which the protruding drawings are located. Now it's time to start painting the surface. When staining, one layer will be darker and the other lighter, so you get two shades. Metallized paint, varnish, wax, pearlescent paint are used in the final finishing.

Wax is applied with a damp sponge, in circular motions. This will achieve uniformity in surface treatment. Lacquer work looks the same.

When the wax dries, you can additionally paint these areas. This will give them even more expressiveness. This option is not the easiest, but the result is worth it.

There is another technology that is considered the most difficult, but gives an amazing effect. With this method, several layers of plaster are successively applied, but each of them has its own color. The drawing is applied only to the last layer (using a stencil): the effect of a fallen shadow is obtained. If you have any doubts, you can use simpler options.

other methods

The solution can be distributed over the entire area of the trowel. Then you will need to lean it against the wall, slightly press and remove. The whole wall is processed in this way, and then the surface is smoothed.

The plaster can be applied with an ordinary brush. Then you will need to process the areas with a trowel. In some cases, the brush can even be replaced with a cloth, and this will also give an unusual effect. The more varied the drawings, the better. The second layer is applied with a sponge.

It is permissible to use a special gun. However, in this case, you need to keep in mind that the pattern will be small. You will not be able to create large islands.

DIY manufacturing

Typically, decorative plaster is sold ready-made: in a special container or in the form of a powder that needs to be diluted, focusing on the recommendations indicated in the instructions. However, such material can be made with your own hands. Experts note: if everything is done correctly, the quality of the coating will not be worse, and it will last just as long.

In the manufacture of decorative plaster, different components are used. A large amount of lime will allow you to get a very clean surface, but there is a possibility of cracking. When gypsum is added, the composition is stronger, and the addition of cement allows the use of the coating in rooms with high humidity.

Decorative plaster "world map" is used in different rooms and can be easily combined with other materials: with paint, wallpaper, tiles. This makes it possible to decorate any room, make it unique. With the help of such plaster, you can translate into reality a variety of design ideas.
