Metal crafts for giving. Crafts for giving from all sorts of things in half an hour

The first products metal crafts were made in antiquity by skilled craftsmen. Gradually, artistic forging turned into a real work of art and, starting from the 11th century, became an integral part of the architectural structures of Europe. Today, metal products have a high cost, but at the same time they can emphasize the exclusivity of the exterior or interior of an apartment or a country house. We offer you several master classes that will help you make metal crafts with your own hands.

metal owl

Materials:

  • paper;
  • pencil;
  • sheets of cardboard;
  • scissors;
  • sheet metal 1.5 mm thick;
  • Bulgarian;
  • chisel;
  • a hammer;
  • welding machine;
  • chemical rust remover;
  • 2 washers and 2 bolts under them;
  • rod 6-8 mm.

Let's start making metal crafts - owls

1) With a pencil on a piece of paper, draw an owl.

2) We visually break the owl into separate elements and transfer them to the sheets of cardboard in full size of the owl. Cut out templates with scissors.

3) Now we apply the cardboard templates to the sheet metal, transfer them and carefully cut out each detail of the owl with a grinder.

4) In the detail, which is the eyes of an owl, we make holes for the bolts. We make them with a chisel and a hammer.

5) Now we make feathers on all the details of the owl. To do this, take a chisel and make notches.

6) Paws are easy to make from a rod. We cut off the pieces needed for the paws from the rod and weld them together so that we get a paw. We do the second one in the same way.

7) From a piece of sheet metal we make a beak.

9) Now you can connect the parts into one. To do this, carefully weld each of them to each other in the desired sequence from the back of the owl. Then we weld the beak and paws to the finished owl.

10) Now, with the help of a chemical solvent, we clean the owl from rust. Follow the instructions on the solvent. If a suitable solvent is not available, make a homemade solution of baking soda and water. It should be of such density that it is easily smeared over the surface. Clean the owl with an old toothbrush, and then rinse well. All work with the solvent is recommended to be done with gloves.

11) When the cleaning process is completed, cover the entire owl with a special varnish. It can be purchased in a special store.

Craft owl made of metal ready. It will become creative, made with love and skill, and will keep memories of the master forever.

Metal figurines look original in a flower bed or in a garden at their summer cottage, so with the help of our step-by-step instructions, you can easily make a rat or some other animal out of metal.

Material:

  • Bulgarian;
  • drill with a drill for metal;
  • metal scissors;
  • electric welding;
  • circle for stripping on the grinder;
  • rods with a diameter of 4,6,10,12 and 14 mm;
  • sheet of 2 mm metal;
  • wire;
  • metal ball from the bearing 3 pieces.

1) We take two pieces of a metal pipe (this rat has a height of 50 centimeters). From one of them we make a head: we cut out the same segments over the entire diameter and get a blank, as in the photo. Then we weld and, using a grinder with a cleaning wheel, we clean this part. We make the body and also clean it in a similar way. Consider the proportions: the head is larger than the body. We weld the head to the body.

2) On a sheet of 2 mm metal we transfer the sketches of the ears and paws of the rat and cut it out. We turn blanks for paws into a funnel. We weld them and clean the seams. Then, by electric welding, we weld each paw to the body and clean the seams again. We weld the ears to the head and do not forget to clean the seams too.

3) Now we make rat paws from twigs. For the upper paws, a 4 mm rod is welded to 10 mm, and for the lower 6 mm paws, it is welded to 12 mm. We insert into the holes of the funnels and scald with welding.

4) We make the tail from a rod of 14 millimeters and weld it to the body.

5) Let's move on to the muzzle of the rat. First, we will make two holes in the head for the eyes. They should be smaller than ball bearings. Now we will drown these balls in the holes and weld them neatly and thinly. We weld the remaining ball in place of the nose by electric welding. Drill holes for the mustache from the wire and insert it.

7) Then we make longitudinal welding seams close to each other throughout the rat. Thanks to this, an imitation of wool will be obtained. Now again we clean the entire craft with the help of a grinder with the desired disk. This is necessary in order to rid the product of scale, slag and give shine.

8) At the end of the work, we apply a special varnish on a metal rat, which can be colorless, or with some effect. It's up to you. The rat in the photo is covered with a colorless varnish with a satin effect.

Now it remains to figure out where to put it or to whom to present such a wonderful gift,.

Rose- this is a unique flower, the beauty of which I would like to preserve as long as possible. Metal rose will delight you for many years and decorate the classic interior of the bedroom.

Materials and tools:

  • yews;
  • sheet metal 0.5 mm;
  • metal scissors;
  • steel wire 6 mm;
  • grindstone;
  • pliers;
  • a hammer;
  • Bulgarian;
  • paint for metal;
  • welding machine.

Master class metal rose

1) During work, observe safety precautions, use gloves and a mask for welding.

2) We cut out petals for a bud and a couple of leaves for a rose from sheet metal with special scissors. We cut out the petals in the following sequence: from smallest to largest, starting with 15 mm and ending with 80 mm. You need to cut about thirty petals, then the bud will be dense and stuffed.

3) Then we smooth the edges of each petal using a grindstone.

4) Cut out triangles from the remaining scraps of sheet metal - they will become rose thorns. Their size should not be less than 10 mm.

5) We make a stem blank from steel wire. Our task is to get rid of its even state. To do this, we can use a hammer to bend it a little so that it looks like a real rose stem.

6) Create a button. The first two smallest petals need to be clamped in a yew and bent in half. Next, we begin to form eight petals in an arc relative to the center of the bud, but be sure to grab each part by welding and then clean it.

7) All subsequent petals are also formed in an arc, but bending back the top of the petal. This procedure is done with a hammer. And just like the previous petals, we weld and clean it again.

8) Now we weld spikes to the already prepared stem. Then we clean them with a grinder.

9) Rose leaves. It is necessary to clamp and unclench the sheet in a yew to get a vein. Then we bend the edges with pliers. And now we attach the leaves to the stem by welding and clean the seams.

10) We weld a rosebud to its stem, carefully clean it at the junction and cover the entire rose with metal paint.

A beautiful flower that combines the tenderness of beauty and the rigidity of the metal is ready. An original and such a painstaking gift will delight the female gaze for many years.

Metal crafts: Panel - fish

panel- This is a decorative composition that serves for beauty and comfort in the house. It can be a carved or ceramic composition, bas-relief or stucco. In the architecture of buildings, panels of tiles of different colors or murals are often found. We offer to make crafts from metal: do-it-yourself wall panel from a metal frame.

materials

  • thick wire;
  • thin wire;
  • beads, a lot of beads;
  • a dozen beads;
  • paper;
  • simple pencil;
  • scissors that can cut wire.

1) The very first thing to do is to draw a sketch of a fish that will occupy a central place in the panel.

2) According to the sketch, we begin to make a fish frame from thick wire. At the same time, we make roundings, as in the photo. In point 5 you will understand what they are for.

3) From the same wire we make jumpers that will increase the rigidity of the structure.

4) A thin wire is needed to fix the frame.

5) Now we begin to fill the fish with beads and beads. To do this, we attach a thin wire to the roundings on the frame and begin to string beads on it. So we braid all parts of the fish with beads, while fastening the wire with beads. To make the product look aesthetically pleasing, do it on the back of the fish. Beads will help emphasize the large scales of the fish, and one bead will go to making the eye. The color of the future craft depends on the selected beads, so fantasize, do not be afraid.

The finished fish can be hung on the wall in the nursery or hallway. It will become not only an interior decoration, but also a pleasant gift for a fishing lover. We recommend making several fish so that you can create a whole one on the wall.

metal crafts parents can do it with the whole family, as you need to follow safety precautions when working with a welding machine. If you do not have special skills in working with metal, you can make crafts from wire or a tin can, which will also look exclusive. This concludes our article on do-it-yourself metal crafts, see more crafts on the site.

The fastest and most reliable way to fasten metal parts is electric welding. Anyone can learn how to handle it. Having bought either an inverter, as well as having spent half a pack of electrodes to gain practical skills, you can safely try to create metal crafts with your own hands. Installation of structures, repairs in the country, the manufacture of garden tools and much more from this moment becomes available.

The first metal crafts

Lots of people have welding. Often the device is purchased in case of construction or repair. It doesn't even have to be for yourself. If there is a need for it, you can call a self-taught neighbor or a familiar specialist welder. After the completion of the work, the unit simply stands idle.

But sooner or later the moment comes when you should decide and try to cook something yourself. There is nothing wrong with that, it would be a desire. The main thing at this stage is not to get burned and not to catch "bunnies", and experience comes with practice. If there is or a country house, there will always be a use for welding. With its help, you can solve the problems of developing the territory much faster.

Not always and not everything can be bought in the store. Welding a gate, building a base for a bench or table, “grabbing” a hook for attaching a rope or an additional support for weaving grapes to a metal pole is kind of a trifle, but calling a welder over and over again for such an occasion seems inconvenient. So you need to learn the basics and solve everyday problems with your own hands.

Welding basics

Of course, you should not immediately take up serious work with responsible connections. You can practice on a piece of unnecessary metal. At the first stage, one should learn how to strike the arc and hold it, maintaining a constant working gap between the workpiece and the electrode as it burns.

After that, you need to work out the technique of forming a weld, fusing a layer of metal on a flat surface. Then you can proceed to adjust the current for different thicknesses of the workpieces to be welded. Welding is a technique for joining two metal parts, based on the melting of their surfaces at the junction. They are connected into one whole by adding a layer of electrode binder material.

The current is chosen in such a way as to ensure the melting of only the surface layer without the formation of holes. It is better to master the technique on electrodes with a diameter of 2.5-3 mm. They must not be old and must be dry, otherwise the first experience will most likely be ineffective, which may discourage learning to create metal crafts.

Welding makes it possible to correct minor and sometimes serious flaws in work or installation errors. It is enough to cut off the seam of the “tack”, and the parts are separated. After cleaning the place of unsuccessful welding, the process can be repeated.

Material

Any owner of a country house or the owner of a summer residence will surely have metal waste on the farm. This may be the remains of pipes after the installation of a gas pipeline, water supply or heating systems. The real owner usually does not throw away the remnants of the channel or pieces of reinforcement. You can also find used nails, bolts and nuts.

Such scrap metal very often becomes the material for a new repair or improvement of the old one. Surely there will be outdated garden tools, chains, old dishes, as well as spare parts from a car, motorcycle or bicycle that have not yet been handed over to collection points in the garage or shed.

From all this you can make useful and practical metal crafts. With your own hands, with the help of welding and the available helpers, you can repair old garden tools or make a new one from waste, taking into account personal experience, your preferences and business conditions.

It is possible to equip comfort in the backyard territory without buying new equipment. From used, but still strong metal, you can build a base for a country table or bench. Finding the right particle board sheet for the countertop and bench board is no problem. Racks can be made even from substandard inch pipe.

If there is a supply of material, you can also swing on a swing. It is better to make the structure capital, with concreting the base. We need two sidewalls of pipes welded at an angle, with jumpers for rigidity. The more massive the swing seat, the larger this angle should be. Jumpers can be welded at ground level or even lower so that they are not visible.

Hangers are best made from chains, but you can also take a reliable rope. The beam for fastening should be massive. A thick-walled pipe, a piece of rail or channel will do. It is best to fix frame parts and suspension brackets by welding.

At any cottage, with rare exceptions, there is a barbecue or other similar device. A couple of logs for seating, an old stump as a table and burnt bricks to limit the fire and lay skewers - for some, this may be relaxation, but it is better and more convenient to use a more advanced design.

The brazier can be disassembled. You can bring it with you to your country house, it can also have a permanent place of registration with the possibility of transporting it to the place of storage. For such a solution, a brazier from an old steel barrel is quite suitable. You can make it on your own and get by with just a grinder and a drill. However, it will be better and easier if you use a welding machine.

An empty and washed barrel is cut along the vertical center line into two halves. Legs made of rod, fittings or pipe sections are welded to one part. The top part serves as a hinged lid and can be conveniently mounted on welded-on old door curtains.

Sheet metal crafts can be fixed by welding only after gaining some experience. In order to reliably weld parts and not burn a hole with the electrode, you should accurately select the welding current and work with short tacks with constant control of the quality of the seam.

metal sculpture

The garden around a country house is not only a plot where trees and shrubs are grown to collect fruits and berries. It's also a place to relax! Garden sculpture will serve as an excellent addition to well-groomed plantings.

It may not necessarily be made of concrete or gypsum. For a person with creativity, there are no limits for its expression. If at the moment only a welding machine, half a pack of electrodes, scrap and a desire to create are at hand, then from all this you can build an original and unique composition. Moreover, the complexity of execution can be different.

It depends on the material available and on the idea. Such metal crafts for the garden in one case can consist of a dozen different, at first glance, incompatible parts of different origin and purpose. In another case, it can be made up of hundreds of the same type of repeating elements, connected by welding into a three-dimensional model.

Where to get ideas?

This question cannot be answered unambiguously. Someone, having seen random details in one place, imagines how they will fit together if they are combined into a common composition. Another purposefully goes to a scrap metal collection point and wanders around the mountains of this trash in search of a suitable part for the selected sculpture.

You can get ideas or just take as a basis someone's already implemented idea from specialized book publications that are dedicated to metal crafts. There is nothing shameful in creating a thing you like from improvised materials available on the farm.

In any case, do-it-yourself metal crafts created according to an existing drawing or sketch will be original. Welding is not copying, but a kind of creativity. Any that is made with a decorative design and repeats a pattern or composition is perceived as a kind of masterpiece.

Safety

Care must be taken to ensure that do-it-yourself metal crafts do not serve as a constant reminder of a bad welding experience associated with a burn or injury. It is strictly forbidden to work without a mask or shield, otherwise you can get ultraviolet radiation.

A protective suit will protect clothing and body skin from flying sparks and splashes of molten metal, and thick mittens or gloves made of dense material will protect your hands. It is not recommended to knock down the scale from the seam without goggles, sharp fragments flying in all directions can get into the eyes.

When working near wooden objects and surfaces prone to fire, you should have a bucket of water and a wet rag on hand. Accidental sparks or electrode residue bouncing off and falling on such materials can cause smoldering and subsequent ignition. When working indoors, you need to pay attention to proper ventilation.

Each owner spends a lot of time thinking about how to embellish his home. At the moment, there is a huge choice of materials - wood or plastic, but metal is in the first place - one of the durable, strong, resistant materials in the world, which serves as an example and standard of metaphors.

History of occurrence

Metal products were most popular in Europe in the 11th century. Everywhere the facades of buildings, fences, decorative statues began to be decorated with unusual forging, and the profession of a blacksmith became an honorary and famous figure of the early Middle Ages.

What kind of craft can be made from metal?

Having thought it over well, the owner decides to present a piece of the unusual to his house, the question immediately arises to buy or do it yourself? Of course, do it yourself, because doing something with your own hands is an order of magnitude more pleasant and more profitable from a price point of view.

Today, forged ornaments for lattices, doors or fences are in fashion, and forged animals, a mysterious owl, or a Russian bear also look great in the garden. Ladies, on the other hand, prefer wrought-iron bouquets, and a rose created by oneself will surprise anyone.

What do you need to make metal crafts?

There are not as many tools as it seems, you just need to get such a list:

  • Photo looking at you crafts;
  • Paper;
  • Welding machine;
  • Chisel and hammer;
  • Bulgarian for cutting metal;
  • Special rust remover;
  • Pencil and scissors, when using a stencil;
  • Several washers or bolts, for decorative elements;
  • Steel bars, from a few centimeters to a meter.
  • The basis of creation is sheet metal.

Step by step DIY crafts

The original idea of \u200b\u200bmetal crafts will be an owl. First, for aesthetics, you will need a template or stencil. It can be made from a sheet of paper with printed drawings.

After cutting out the drawing of an owl, the stencil should be attached to a sheet of steel and transferred to the drawing, you need to do it in the most realistic way.

The next step will be cutting the metal with a grinder and drilling holes for fasteners and inserting owl eyes. After creating the body, you should go to the details: paws are made from the rod, and the bumps are straightened with a grinder. In the end, our beauty is treated with a chemical rust remover and painted.

Master class on making roses

And materials. List of basic tools:

  • Welder.
  • Hammer and pliers.
  • steel sheet
  • Bulgarian.
  • Special paint for metal.
  • Grindstone.
  • Steel wire with a diameter of 6 mm.
  • Metal scissors.

Attention. Do not forget about safety when working with these tools! Be sure to use gloves and a welding mask when working.

We take scissors for cutting metal and cut out thirty rose petals (due to thirty petals, the bud will seem more magnificent). You need to move in cutting from small to large, that is, from 15 mm to 80 mm. Your rose should not be prickly. Therefore, a grindstone will help to smooth out all the irregularities of the petals.

After the formation of an integral flower, we weld the spikes and clean the excess with a grinder, clean the seams and cover with a layer of protective paint - the craft is ready.

Metal products with steel wire

The National Academy of Sciences of Britain in 1856 declared: "Everything that could be invented has long been invented", but time has shown a different outcome. So now. Every year new ways of decorating are invented.

For example, in recent years it has been fashionable to make a figure out of wire or rod. Combinations and special weaves debug the impression of indescribable beauty.

Master class butterfly from a rod

In terms of its complexity, a steel butterfly is not difficult and will not take much time. Usually the working technique consists of twisting the wire (the manufacturing process depends on the right material: the material should not be too thick to be able to bend, but not too thin so as not to bend) in several layers.

A body is created with spiral turns, after attaching wings made of two ovals.

Some interesting facts

Metal is the most ancient mineral of interest to man. He mined it, forged it, and now a new fence or another forged deer lit up with a smile of passers-by.

In times of the rapid introduction of Hollywood films and the development of artificial intelligence, the topic of androids and the like has become relevant. Although the world is far from the uprising of machines, it is always possible to forge a transformer, for example, for an exhibition.

Vitaly Yashkovich from Krasnoyarsk became famous throughout the city for his miracle robots. In his collection are such titans of world cinema as: Megatron, Terminator T-200 and T-800, androids of Star Wars, as well as droids from cartoons. The owner himself claims that he will not sell his robots to anyone, they say, he created for the soul

Create and you, because the world is not identified and multifaceted. Give him something new and different.

In this case, it is possible to adjust the parameters of the product without material costs for its re-manufacturing.

How to make a box from an aluminum can

Even a schoolboy can do the most elementary thing made of metal. The main thing is that this will require practically nothing but time, diligence, imagination and the desire to create. You can make a beautiful box from an ordinary soda can.

Materials and equipment

Raw materials for production, one might say, are lying under your feet on the street. You will also need the following items:

  • sandpaper (skin);
  • sharp scissors;
  • ruler;
  • pencil;
  • ball pen;
  • solid base no larger than A4 (depending on the size of the box);
  • sheet of paper for the diagram.

Sequencing

At the first stage, a layer of paint is removed from the can with sandpaper. It is better to do this from an unopened container, since its walls remain elastic under the influence of the contents. The process will go faster and you won't ruin the metal. If using an empty one, be careful not to crush the jar.

At the next step, from the workpiece, you need to get a thin sheet of aluminum the size of a scan of the future box.

For this bank is cut.
Sharp and uneven edges are removed.

At the next stage, the edges and sides of the product are marked.

A thin metal sheet is placed on a solid base.

The scheme of the box can be drawn directly on a metal sheet.

And you can circle a sketch made in advance on paper.

When the sweep of the box is ready, we proceed directly to drawing the picture. This is done with a ballpoint pen or a sharpened pencil. It should be noted that you will have to circle the patterns several times on both sides. This will give more decorativeness and bulge to the pattern.

You yourself could see for yourself that it is very easy to make products from thin sheet metal.

You may well try your hand in this direction. You can make in this way not only caskets, but everything that comes to mind.

How to turn a hobby into a small business

Making such exclusive gifts can also be a profitable business. You can sell crafts through ads or recommendations from friends. If there is a salon in your city that accepts souvenirs, you can take them there. It is quite profitable today to create metal products with your own hands. They can be put up for sale on many specialized sites. These sites are easy to find. The “Fair of Masters” works well, but you can use other services.

How to sell your crafts online

If you decide to opt for online trading, then take into account that the principle of operation of all stores is the same:

  1. You register as a craftsman who sells items.
  2. Fill out your profile.
  3. Exhibit your work.
  4. Negotiate with the customer.

DIY garden crafts: step by step ideas and photos

For all lovers of tinkering, inventing and being creative, our today's selection of do-it-yourself crafts for the garden is intended. There is no single concept in them, some of them have an applied value, others are intended purely to cheer up. On the other hand, isn't this the most important thing that we want to see in crafts for a summer residence?

DIY crafts for the garden: photo

Most of the do-it-yourself garden crafts, the photos of which you will see below, are made from simple and accessible materials for everyone. They do not require the possession of complex tools, although building skills may come in handy, as well as artistic fantasy. In addition to wood, plastic and metal, which we have traditionally used for many years, designers offer us new ideas for the garden. for which not quite ordinary materials are used. Who among us could have imagined that knitwear could become decorations of the site? And they did! We present to your attention a whole family of hedgehogs, created with the help of knitting needles and dense woolen threads.

Hedgehogs will look great both on the lawn, in the grass, and on the veranda or in the house. Such interior crafts will also be excellent souvenirs for friends. As you can see, they are all different sizes, all because they are based on cans and tins of different sizes. Even a child can make them if he has the most basic knitting skills in his arsenal. Pay attention to the choice of thread shade to imitate needles. If you can’t pick up melange yarn in gray-black-white shades, then you can do it differently and just knit in two threads, connecting black and white. In order to determine the size of the canvas, measure the selected container with a centimeter: the circumference and the required height. On the knitting needles, dial such a number of loops that will correspond to the circumference. You take the knitting as usual, garter, alternating front and back loops. When the canvas is knitted, sew it like a sleeve, type white threads through the narrow edge. They are knitted with four knitting needles or special socks, on four sides. After knitting a little, put a jar inside the formed stocking, which is intended for the base. After that, tighten the “rear” of the hedgehog with threads. Starting from the middle of the white knit, halve the number of loops in each row to get an elongated muzzle.

At the very end of the knitting, replace the white threads with black ones for literally a couple of rows to make a nose. It remains only to sew on buttons as eyes, build legs from threads and the first hedgehog from a large family is ready.

A bird feeder is certainly a noble craft, but cats may also want to take such a wonderful house. However, such crafts for giving from logs are decorative in themselves, regardless of which tenants occupy them. Moreover, at each site, the fruit fund is updated from time to time, so there remains a large number of logs that can be used for work. This design is very simple, but it looks very impressive, especially if you place it on the territory of an alpine hill or in dense thickets.

Beer in cans and metal bottle caps don't have to go in the trash. Start accumulating source materials in winter in order to please your children with funny metal crafts for a summer cottage in the form of owl faces in the summer.

To work, you will need a variety of metal parts and parts (below you even see crafts from a bicycle wheel), but the principle of operation is the same - two more round parts are screwed onto the round base part with screws - the eyes of an owl, and between them a tiny nose. The fastening is done with a wire, it is wound into the base material in three pieces on each side to imitate claws and screwed to a branch, beam or other place where you want to place the craft.

DIY craft ideas for the garden

When looking for DIY ideas for gardening, you can go far and find products that are actually complex designs.

On the other hand, it is they who will cause the greatest delight among your guests, unlike the simplest crafts from bottles for giving. that are available in every area. You can try to make the following characters that will enliven your country landscape if you have minimal skills in creating sculpture. And, by the way, plastic bottles are the basis of these garden sculptures, but no one will guess about it except you.

To sculpt this work, you will first need to create a bottle frame. If you want to make the same large figures as in the photo, then you will need to use not the usual 1-2 liter bottles, but eggplants of 5-6 liters. They are inserted into each other, previously each of them is cut in half diagonally. Pieces of plastic pipes will serve as arms and legs, you also bend them as you like. At the ends of the tubes we attach pieces of wire, between which we glue the fabric, we get excellent webbed paws. When the frame is completely ready, you can start covering the plastic surface with facade putty, dilute it to a dense consistency and coat the frame with an even layer. We cover the dried plaster with paint, and already on top of it we glue the fabric with folds that will look like frog skin from afar. And the final stage - we apply paint and PVA glue on the fabric, which will allow our figure to be in the open air, without fear of the sun, wind or rain.

The following do-it-yourself inhabitants of the ornamental garden are also devoted to the disposal of materials harmful to nature. Such chickens are made of colored plastic bags, which means that they will also not be afraid of moisture, and will be able to please you for a long time. The only negative is that in the bright sun they can burn out and lose the brightness of their plumage. To create a polyethylene chicken coop, you will first need a thick wire frame. Take dense packages of bright colors, cut them into strips and string them on a needle, collecting them into a frill. This thread (or fishing line), on which the packages are located, is gradually tied around the frame. But while it doesn’t look too much like a chicken, for this, arm yourself with scissors and simply cut the layers of polyethylene, removing all unnecessary. In order for the chicken to stand confidently on the ground, two wire legs are screwed to the frame, which are tied with black electrical tape. The final stages are purely decorative - make eyes for the chicken, a beak with a beard and a scallop. For quiet purposes, you can use thick cardboard.

How to make DIY crafts for the garden

We continue to look for interesting ideas on how to make DIY garden crafts from materials that you have at hand. So the next example can be advised to do for those who have recently completed repairs, because we will recycle the remnants of the corrugated pipe, making bright pumpkins out of it.

For a garden with your own hands, you can make such metal vegetables in just a matter of minutes. In the photo you see a hint on how this can be easily done: the pipe is simply pulled to the center and the edges are connected, for example, with an industrial stapler. After that, when the correct shape has already been acquired, you very quickly paint the metal with an orange spray paint. Inside we insert a piece of pipe and some building fibers. Now orange pumpkins will decorate your site not only in autumn, but all year round, confusing your neighbors.

If you like to play bowling and in the country you do not have enough of this hobby, you can make a children's bowling alley from plastic bottles. But it's boring just to knock down sand-filled bottles, it's much more interesting when they are painted with paints. It can be gnomes, as in the example, or the faces of characters from favorite children's cartoons, in any case, knocking them down even with a simple soccer ball instead of a ball will be fun.

Beautiful DIY crafts for the garden

The following beautiful DIY garden crafts look different, but they are based on the same manufacturing principle. These are balls made of concrete, and then covered with paint.

If in the first case this is an excellent decoration for a playground, then the second option, using metallic paint, makes such decor unearthly, cosmic.

Canisters from various detergents also have to be disposed of somewhere. We offer you two options for such artistic recycling. You can make a figurine of such a funny boar based on a canister of even bright color. You will need a minimum of additional materials - anchor bolts for legs with hooves, an old brush to create real boar bristles and pieces of plastic to match the ears. You can make it one or a whole brood and place it in the sandbox for permanent residence.

And from a canister with inscriptions you can make a bird feeder. It must first be thoroughly rinsed and ventilated to remove chemical residues. Cut out the middle so that there is space for falling asleep food, but there are sufficiently high sides. The surface of the plastic is smeared with PVA glue and a hemp rope or twine is wound on it in even rows.

Creative ideas for arrangement can be applied everywhere, even in the unusual design of the palisade. It immediately takes on an unusual look, it is worth sharpening each peg and painting it with paint in different colors. Such an original set of colored pencils will not leave indifferent not only children, but also adults

Unusual DIY crafts for the garden

The only thing you should always remember is that the decor elements must still be beautiful, so as not to look like just cut plastic bottles. If you are not sure of your artistic talents, then it is better to buy ready-made crafts in the store or order weaving, forging, sculpting masters who already have experience in creating garden and garden beauties.

    Do-it-yourself metal furniture - making metal furniture for home and garden

    Several examples of metal furniture, which we want to bring to your attention, are easy to manufacture and practical. The absence of adhesive joints and the relatively low weight of metal furniture make it possible to recommend these products as garden furniture and furniture for summer cottages.

    Manufacturing of metal furniture

    For the manufacture of furniture with their own hands from metal, special techniques are characteristic that you need to know. The starting material is usually duralumin or thin-walled steel tubes with a diameter of 16 to 22 mm. For metal furniture, the description of the manufacturing process of which is given in this section, you can use obsolete duralumin folding beds, folding chairs, ski poles, etc.

    The main operation in the manufacture of metal furniture is pipe bending. At home, this operation is easiest to perform in a special device consisting of two bars and a flat disk.

    It is advisable to make the details of the fixture from hardwood and securely fasten it on a solid base (workbench, table, etc.).

    P.). The bars of the device are fixed so that there is a gap between them, which allows you to freely insert a pipe into it for bending. A prerequisite for the quality performance of this operation is the stuffing of pipes with sand or pouring them with molten rosin. To do this, a wooden cork is hammered into the pipe blank from one end, then the pipe is tightly packed with dry, finely sown river sand. Now it remains to drown the tube on the other side and you can start bending.

    When bending furniture parts made of metal of complex configuration, for example, a chair frame, it is necessary to use a plaza. The simplest bending plaza is a sheet of plywood or cardboard on which the contours of the future part are drawn. In order to reproduce the contour of the part on the plaza in full size, a coordinate grid is applied to it (similar to the grid shown in the figure on this page) and the configuration of the part is transferred from the figure to the cells.

    During the bending process, the part is periodically checked along the contour on the plaza. To connect pipe parts to each other, wooden adapter bushings are usually used, which allow the use of conventional fasteners - screws or studs. Plugs are placed in the supporting ends of the legs. Corks should be made from well seasoned dry hardwood. They can be turned on a wood lathe, and try to make the diameter of the plugs such that it provides the tightest (tight) fit possible.

    A few words about metal furniture finishing. Details from duralumin pipes are best finished by polishing to a mirror finish, followed by a colorless varnish, but this is only possible with a mechanized tool, an electric drill or a motor, as well as a polishing wheel.

    If you do not have such tools, then the metal parts of the furniture must be carefully sanded (especially steel) and painted with black or other colored varnish or paint for metal.

    So, on the following pages of the idea-master.ru website, we will tell you in more detail how to make metal furniture with your own hands: Round metal table, Metal chair, Metal tube chair, Kitchen table and Semi-soft bench made of metal.

    CYLINDER MANUFACTURE

    In the middle of the sweep, mark the holes for attaching the ear

    1. On a rectangular sheet of thin-sheet galvanized steel GOST 14918-80, on a home-made manual bending machine, or manually using a mallet and a bar, we fold the edges of the sheet “along the height” in opposite directions. We bend the sheet into a cylinder.
    2. We fasten the folded edges.

    We evenly press the resulting seam with a mallet or mallet along the entire length of the cylinder.
    3. In order for the seam to remain inside the cylinder, it is necessary to carry out the following operation: turn the finished seam so that it is located near the edge of the timber; hitting the seam with a mallet, we get the outer surface of the cylinder without a protruding seam.

    REBELLING

    The width of the fold depends on its purpose: obtaining a lock; wire rolling.

    4. Set the cylinder relative to the bar to its original position. We tap with a hammer and bend the fold.
    5. Tap with the pointed side of the hammer. We monitor the width of the fold - it should be the same.
    6. Align the fold by tapping with the blunt side of the hammer.
    7. We finally bend the bent fold at a right angle.

    WIRE ROLLING

    We put a circle around the perimeter of the flanging,

    made of wire, the diameter of which must match the outer diameter of the cylinder.

    We round the circular edge and finally bring the seaming.

    CONNECTING THE CYLINDER TO THE BOTTOM

    8. Bend the edges of the circle and insert into the cylinder.
    9. With light blows of the pointed part of the hammer, we bend the fold inside the circle.
    10. With strong blows of the blunt part of the hammer, we tap the fold on the beam, while turning the cylinder.
    11. We dump the fold on the outer plane of the cylinder.
    12. If as a result of the work a convex bottom is obtained, it is necessary to level it.
    13. On the very edge of the bottom, we hit with the blunt part of the hammer, around the entire perimeter of the circle. At the same time, the bottom will level out, the connection edges will receive a pronounced contour.

    ATTACHING THE INTERMEDIATE HOOP

    The bottom of the bucket can be attached to the intermediate hoop, and the intermediate hoop can be attached to the cylinder.

    14. We fix the bottom of the bucket with a hoop.
    15. We connect the hoop with the cylinder (bucket body).
    16. We bend the fold at the hoop.
    17. We dump the fold on the outer plane of the cylinder and thoroughly tap on the perimeter of the entire circle.

    LUCK MANUFACTURE

    We will cut out the ears from a similar material. We will punch or drill through holes: two for rivets; one with a metal handle.

    HANDLE MANUFACTURING

    We bend the handle from a metal wire with a diameter of 5 ... 6 (mm) GOST 18143-72.

    How to make a bucket with your own hands from tin - as you can see, nothing complicated. Having mastered a simple model. You can move on to a more complex model with sloping walls.

    You can decorate the interior of a house or a country cottage not only with store-bought trinkets, but also with hand-made metal products. Moreover, it is available to everyone, since it requires a minimum set of tools and knowledge. At the same time, such things can make decorate any interior.

    Thinking about creating such items, everyone can choose for themselves manufacturing technology based on your experience and knowledge. Although in each case the selected technique will require certain costs necessary for the purchase or manufacture of special equipment.

    It is in the power of everyone to create a lot of various metal products, to arrange a garden with their help. It can be both crafts and pieces of furniture, as well as various decorative bridges and forging elements.

    The technology of making things from metal

    Do-it-yourself metal products can make any design more attractive, including benches, cornices, furniture and other things. Moreover, the owner can choose the style of his choice, paying attention to the fact that the created thing looks harmonious in a particular room.

    In stores, metal products are offered at rather high prices due to the fact that they are made by hand. However, if you wish, you can master the science of creating these items yourself, thanks to which you can save a lot of money on this. The only costs that may arise here will be related to the purchase of materials.

    To create metal patterns and details, you can choose any technique you like. Quite common among them are forging, stamping, cutting, bending, chasing and filigree. After the scheme or drawing of the product is received, as well as the necessary materials are prepared, the person will be ready to implement the plan to create an unusual and beautiful product.

    Metal is the material on the basis of which you can create a whole composition of various crafts for the garden.

    Therefore, there are many different methods that allow you to create at home pretty original stuff.

    • Casting. The essence of this technique is to fill with a liquid alloy of a special form.
    • Forging. This method is based on the impact on the workpiece with a hammer, temperature, press and other methods of deformation.
    • bending. This technique is in many ways similar to forging, it is based on riveting and welding of product elements.
    • Difovka. This method is characterized by the use of a hammer, with the help of which thin sheets of iron are given the necessary shapes.
    • Stamping and cutting. Using this technique, you can effortlessly change the shape of the workpiece, as well as create holes.
    • Filigree. This method involves the use of cast or smooth wire as raw material, from which the product is created by soldering the bent elements of the pattern.
    • Chasing. This processing method is simple in execution, and its essence lies in placing a special tool on the workpiece, which is acted upon by a hammer, thereby changing the shape of the product.

    There are several ways to make drawing for a metal product. It can be developed manually or use special computer programs. Thanks to the drawing, you can find out in advance how much material is needed to create things. First of all, those who plan to make large objects, for example, gates, bars, cannot do without it. Having a ready-made sketch in hand, it will be easier for the master to understand even before starting work how harmoniously this product will look in the place chosen for its placement.

    simple metal things

    If you do not have experience in making such things with your own hands, then it is recommended that you start by creating the simplest metal objects. Such can be a metal box, which can act not only as a decorative element, but also perform practical functions.

    Required Tools

    Suitable as a base regular tin can. To make such a box, you will need to prepare a number of tools:

    The process of making a box with your own hands begins with cleaning the surface of the can from paint, for which use sandpaper. It is advisable to carry out the operation when the jar is still full. Otherwise, you will have to perform such preparation as carefully as possible, because if the metal is deformed, then you are unlikely to be able to make a beautiful box.

    After that, they begin to cut the can: this must be done in such a way that a rectangular blank is obtained. Before that, you need to cut off the bottom, after which the upper part is cut along. During this operation, irregularities will necessarily appear along the edges, which it is desirable to sharpen immediately.

    Next, it must be placed on a hard surface, where the images contained in the drawing are already applied with a pencil. After that, proceed directly to the creation of the pattern. You will not have any restrictions in choosing jewelry for the box, but it is still advisable to use symmetrical details. To create a pattern ballpoint pen required, with which you can easily push through aluminum. You can achieve the effect of a pronounced texture if you draw along the contour lines of the pattern more than once. After completing the steps listed above, you will only need to assemble the box.

    If you have welding equipment and skills in handling it, you can make a very beautiful metal owl with your own hands. In addition, you will have to prepare the following tools:

    At the first stage it is necessary draw a sketch of an owl on paper, after which it is transferred to cardboard. So you make it easier for yourself to cut out individual elements. To create an owl, we will have to make eyes, a body that includes feathers, wings and a tail. To make it easier for you to cut metal parts, you can use a grinder.

    When creating the eyes for the owl, make sure that they have large holes in them, through which you can insert bolts. On all the scales you will have to create notches, thanks to which the plumage effect will be provided. To do this, you will have to use a chisel. Paws can be made by connecting parts of the rod to each other, using welding for this. To create a beak, use a piece of bent metal. During the assembly of the product, the beak and paws must be welded at the very end. When all the elements are in place, the owl can be further decorated by treating it with a special varnish.

    How to make frost patterns?

    Making frosty patterns is not a very time-consuming procedure, but at the same time it is able to provide a rather spectacular look to the product, giving it a resemblance to old craftsmen's products. This largely contributes manifestation of the structure of tin that looks like crystals. To make frosty patterns, it is recommended to use tin cans, since a layer of tin has already been applied to their surface.

    You can develop the pattern as follows: for this you need a candle, over which you need to hold individual parts of the metal for some time. The jar must be heated for a strictly defined time. If it is overexposed, it will lead to damage to the product. The main goal that must be achieved during the heating of the tin layer is to allow it to manifest itself.

    You can also make a frosty metal pattern with your own hands if you place the tin on the surface of the steel plate in advance, and then heat or melt.

    A burner is suitable for this purpose: thanks to a steady flame, you can easily heat the required area of \u200b\u200bthe tin. As the tin heats up, you can notice how a shine appears on it, which disappears after a few seconds. Try to process the metal sheet in such a way that its sections are heated unevenly, otherwise you will end up with a uniform pattern. To give the workpiece an original look, creating a unique pattern, it is enough to warm the sheet in the corners.

    When the desired pattern is obtained, it is necessary to sharply lower the temperature of the metal sheet. To do this, it is dipped in cold water or sprinkled. To make the created pattern visible on the sheet as clearly as possible, the surface can be further treated with hydrochloric acid. For safety, you need to prepare a tool - stick to which a cotton swab is tied.

    Sometimes, after warming up, it is not possible to achieve the required clearance. In this case, you can remove it once with sandpaper. It is not recommended to repeat this technique, because otherwise it will lead to the complete removal of the tin layer.

    For decoration purposes, you can also turn to wax paint, which is used to process certain sections of a metal sheet, after which they are heated. It is possible to ensure the stability of the pattern created on the jar by treating it with a special varnish. Even better, if you apply a colored clear varnish on it, thanks to which your thing will look even more original.

    How is cold forging done?

    The cold forging method can also be used to create metal products at home. With the help of this technique, you can make things with an unusual shape with your own hands, this is done with the help of a press. With a small thickness of metal there is no need to resort to heating it, this will help to avoid many difficulties.

    Cold forging tools

    Although this manufacturing method is more simple, in contrast to the technique of creating metal products by hot forging, certain tools are also needed here:

    • Gnutik, with which the workpiece will be bent to give the desired shape;
    • A snail, which is also used to deform a sheet of metal;
    • Special flashlight used for weaving;
    • A wave that allows you to make wavy patterns;
    • A twister that allows you to twist the rods together, thereby making it possible to obtain spiral elements.

    Manufacturing steps

    Even before the manufacture of a metal product by forging, it does not hurt to depict sketch or product diagram.

    Then, using the available tools, they begin to manufacture the constituent elements of the product, and subsequently they are connected to each other by welding.

    The last step in the manufacture of metal products by cold forging is the removal of seams, grinding and applying special varnishes.

    The most common options for cold forging were discussed above, but it can also be performed in a slightly different way - in the form of embossing. To use this method, there is no need to purchase special complex tools. This technique is based on working with a workpiece, on which a pre-composed pattern is applied by extruding metal. After a sketch of a pattern or image has been prepared, it must be cut out. Then you need to take care of the availability of space for bending the material.

    After that, the board is covered with a layer of resin, where the finished workpiece is already laid out. From this moment, the process of its design begins by transferring the pattern to it.

    Conclusion

    You can decorate your home not only with the help of modern accessories and beautiful little things that are offered in stores. If you wish, you can independently make metal things that will look no worse. Naturally, in the absence of skills in the manufacture of such products, it is possible that the first box or other thing that will be made by your own hands will not be as beautiful as you would like.

    However, as you hone your skills, you will get better at this task, and subsequently it will not be difficult for you. create more complex things. This will allow you to turn your hobby into a fairly profitable business. After all, things that were made by hand are very much appreciated.
