Al diagram of a Samsung vacuum cleaner. Do-it-yourself vacuum cleaner repair

Regardless of the manufacturers and types of vacuum cleaner, the main difference lies in the quality, power and design.

The most important thing in a vacuum cleaner is an electric motor that creates a vacuum and, as a result, sucks dust and various particles through special filters through which only air passes.
In different types of such devices, these filters are different, and flasks and just bags and cyclonic vacuum cleaners.

But it is the engine and, occasionally, the electronic power (speed) control circuit that requires the most attention in this whole device.

Do-it-yourself engine repair is not difficult to carry out if the breakdown is simple and the engine is still running but the engine is heavy (when turned off) or the engine starts to rumble or hum strongly, sometimes the vacuum cleaner gets very hot in a short period of time.

The heart of the vacuum cleaner, as we have already figured out, is the engine and, as a rule, the collector.
What is such an engine?
The engine is housed in a housing where the fan impeller blades are hidden. It is of a tangential type, where air is drawn in in the center and exits through the periphery and through the rear filter is already out.
The brushes in the engine are placed in special mines made of brass, as a rule, this is ordinary carbon in the form of graphite. Over time, the brushes are rubbed against the collector roller, their middle is ground off and they become slightly semicircular, due to which the area of contact with the collector areas increases. The brushes in their shafts are pressed by springs, creating the necessary pressure of graphite, in the process of robots, to the collector. The brush will work until that time until it is worn out and the spring cannot properly contact the graphite to the commutator.
It is necessary to monitor the cleanliness of the collector shaft itself, clean it from carbon deposits if necessary, and remove the oxide layer to a copper sheen.

The shaft is attached to the stator on two bearings of different sizes, as a rule, this is done in order to make it easier to disassemble it. The front is usually large, and the rear is smaller.

The shaft is carefully knocked out of the stator using any suitable tool. Then we look at the course of the bearings, because of the dusty robots they become clogged despite the presence of anthers. If necessary, the anthers are carefully removed with a thin screwdriver or an awl, washed with a WD-shki jet, after which the balls must be lubricated, for example, with grease such as Litol-24 or EP-2, after which the anther is put in place and snaps into its grooves in the bearing itself.

Dismantling the vacuum cleaner

To start some kind of repair or maintenance of the vacuum cleaner, you need to remove the case. Each model has its own methods.
First of all, all filters that make it difficult to access the motor are removed, the case screws are unscrewed, including hidden ones (under the buttons, for example). Having unscrewed all the screws, you need to carefully try to disassemble the case, if this fails, take a closer look at where else there may be latches or additional screws, if you do not pay attention to this, you can break the case.

Then the entire electrical installation is disconnected, as a rule, the connections are made on the connectors.
The plastic housing of the motor is unscrewed from the frame, after which the motor is removed from its plastic housing.
In some models, it is simpler and the motor itself is fixed in the vacuum cleaner body in special rubber grooves-seals or is screwed tightly to the general vacuum cleaner body.

Dismantling the vacuum cleaner motor

To disassemble the engine and remove the fan impeller First of all, we will remove the front part of the casing (above the impeller). We take a thin metal object, you can use a screwdriver and carefully bend it from the side of the casing so that the screwdriver goes a little into the middle, then with a gentle movement we push out the upper part of the casing, as a result of which the entire impeller becomes available to us.

The nut on the impeller usually has a left-hand thread (but there are exceptions) We try to unscrew it while holding the impeller with your hand, if it scrolls and you cannot unscrew the nut in this way, there is one great way
So .. we take a good stranded wire with a cross section of more than 1.5mm in dense rubber insulation (to prevent slipping). We push such a wiring and wrap the collector shaft 2-3 times, turn to turn and stretch in different directions, thereby fixing the shaft motionless.

It is most convenient to do this together, one person fixes the collector using the ends of the wire stretched to the sides, and the second unscrews the nut on the fan disk.
The method is very convenient and safe for fixing the anchor. In the same way, when reassembling, tighten the nut.

After removing the fan impeller, unscrew the housing screws, by this time the brushes should already be removed.

If necessary, the bearings are removed using an available tool or special threaded pullers. In especially severe cases, sometimes the bearing "sticks" tightly with the sleeve, a special hydraulic press is used to remove the bearings.

The main causes of vacuum cleaner breakdowns

  • bearings
  • brushes
  • fuse
  • network wire
  • no contact in the switch
  • motor windings, breakage or burnout of the winding (stator or rotor)
  • capacitor failure
  • failure of the electronic circuit of the power regulator

Loss of power and suction.
The most common cause is either clogged filters or bearing failure.
The filters must be cleaned and the operation checked again, also the operation (draft) of the vacuum cleaner without filters should be checked, as it happens that the usual cleaning of the filter does not help and it needs to be replaced.
If the traction without filters does not give the same working traction, you will have to disassemble the vacuum cleaner, the impeller on it should easily turn with your finger without much effort. Additionally, we remove and inspect the brushes and clean the collector from soot, using sandpaper or a piece of ordinary cloth.

In some cases, the tightness of the hose is broken, it can be both a violation of the integrity of the hose itself and the connecting pipes at the ends of the hose, the hose simply slips out of them a little.

The vacuum cleaner does not turn on.
If everything is fine with the voltage at the outlet, we disassemble the vacuum cleaner and first of all inspect the fuse and power cord, especially at the very end of the cord on the winding drum at the soldering points.
If there is a tester, we call for a contact.
The power button could break, or the contact is simply broken in it, it sometimes gets clogged, again with the help of a tester we make sure that the button is working.
If all the elements were rung by the tester and the voltage comes to the motor brushes without any problems, and the brushes themselves are not erased, then most likely you will have an expensive engine repair or simply replacing it, since in most cases it is more expedient to install a new motor than to repair a tired old one by rewinding.

If the vacuum cleaner worked for a long time and does not turn on then it is quite possible that the protective thermal relay on the engine itself has worked as a result of overheating - in this case, there is nothing to repair, it will be enough to leave the vacuum cleaner to cool the engine.

Vacuum cleaner motor speed not adjustable.
The most common cause of such a malfunction is a breakdown of the triac, in which the voltage through it is not regulated, but freely passes through it without any control. Possible failure of this element and possibly loss of contact on one of the legs of this element on the board.
By slightly pressing down on the speed control knob, you can make sure that the regulator itself is in good condition or that the contact may be broken in it and the regulator slider will not contact its site.

Vacuum cleaner emits odor and hot air.
First of all, you need to make sure that the suction inlet is not clogged, inspect the hose, check the retraction force at the inlet and whether the sound of the engine changes when the inlet is plugged with the palm of your hand. In the case of satisfactory operation on the part of the suction system, we can assume a malfunction of the engine, and most likely the brushes.

The vacuum cleaner hums and rumbles- the reason for this action is the engine, and in particular its bearings. Most likely they need additional lubrication or, if there is a large shaft around their axis, they need to be replaced with new ones.

The cord does not tighten when pressing the button or constantly tightens during operation- malfunction of the winding drum, the spring may have burst, weakened, or vice versa is too tight.
We inspect the pressure roller of the button and, if necessary, having removed the drum, we wind or unwind the wire on the drum - changing the tension of the drum itself to the one we need.

Electrical diagram of the vacuum cleaner

As a rule, it is not complicated and in most models it is quite standard.

Repair of washing vacuum cleaners (Karcher, Zelmer, Bork and others ..) is not much different from those described above. Their design has a pump that supplies water to the hose and the presence of a water filter at the inlet.
In models of vacuum cleaners with an aquafilter, thin streams of water sometimes break through at the junction of the hose and the body. Sometimes the pump becomes clogged, and sometimes the electronics work.

Not every person will be able to fix a vacuum cleaner, even with all the tools. But with this task it will be much easier to diagnose the cause of the malfunction and try to eliminate it, or if the cause is serious, contact the service center already knowing the cause, having the information presented in this article.

Dear visitors!!!

This topic answers the following questions:

  • how to repair a samsung vacuum cleaner;
  • how to repair lg vacuum cleaner;
  • how to repair a thomas vacuum cleaner;
  • how to repair selmer vacuum cleaner

and other vacuum cleaners from different manufacturers.

Regardless of the manufacturers of such products as a vacuum cleaner, they differ only in their design and quality. Of course, in order to resolve such a question, it is necessary to know the electrical circuit of the connections of the elements. Consider three electrical circuits of vacuum cleaners.

Electrical diagram of the vacuum cleaner

I found this electrical circuit (Fig. 1) on the Internet, where it is explained that this circuit refers specifically to a vacuum cleaner.

The switch in this circuit (Fig. 1) is a two-pole disconnector \ phase and zero \. Two chokes Dr1 and Dr2 are connected in series in the electrical circuit, capacitor C3 is connected in parallel. The remaining two capacitors are connected in series. The stator of the electric motor consists of two excitation windings. The electrical circuit is completed through graphite brushes on the rotor commutator.

To be honest, in my practice, for the repair of vacuum cleaners, I have not seen such schemes. Therefore, I have provided my schemes for you, according to which I had to troubleshoot vacuum cleaners of various models.

At home, I use a DAEWOO vacuum cleaner (with a dust bag). The design of the vacuum cleaner is simple. The vacuum cleaner was given to us by friends who thought that the vacuum cleaner was faulty. In the end, a small preventive maintenance was done (greasing the bearings), the vacuum cleaner is already about five years old, how it works properly. In the scheme (Fig. 2) the following designations are given:

Р.О - working winding of the stator,

P.O - starting stator winding,

Off - push button switch

C.p - starting capacitor.

The circle in the circuit, located between the two stator windings, is the rotor of the electric motor. The capacitor and switch in the circuit are connected in series, the ends of the two windings are also connected to each other in series. The circuit is presented as connecting an asynchronous motor through a capacitor. Of course, AC collector motors are installed in vacuum cleaners. Therefore, I want to say that according to two electrical circuits (Fig. 2, Fig. 3), an explanation is given for connecting a capacitor, two stator windings, and also how the speed of the vacuum cleaner motor is adjusted. Consider the following diagram of a vacuum cleaner with an electric motor speed controller.

Electric motor speed controller 220v

According to this diagram (Fig. 3), it is clearly seen that the speed control of the electric motor of the vacuum cleaner is carried out using an adjusting rheostat (R.R). In modern models of vacuum cleaners, the adjusting rheostat is located on the handle of the vacuum cleaner (photo 1).

Do-it-yourself vacuum cleaner repair

In the photograph (photo 2) you can see the contact connection of the graphite brushes with the collector of the rotor of the electric motor. During the operation of the vacuum cleaner, such a cause of malfunction as the wear of graphite brushes is typical.

On the electrical side, the following causes of the malfunction can be listed:

  • broken cord wire at the base of the plug;
  • rupture of the cord wire along its length;
  • the switch is faulty;
  • condenser \ filter \ burned out;
  • break in the winding of the throttle;
  • wire falling out in a contact connection with a graphite brush;
  • gap in the stator winding \winding burnout\;
  • break in the rotor winding,

and other malfunctions.

The listed causes of the malfunction are easily eliminated, except for such a malfunction as the rewinding of the rotor of the electric motor and the rewinding of the stator of the electric motor. Here it is necessary to take into account:

  • number of turns of copper wire;
  • section of copper wire.

With such a malfunction, it is easier, of course, to replace the electric motor itself.

In terms of mechanics, one can give such an example of a malfunction as a bearing failure, which would be more convenient to simply replace with a new one.

In order not to create a load on the electric motor itself, it is necessary to clean the components of the vacuum cleaner (filter, turbo brush, dust bag, etc. parts).

In general, there is nothing complicated here. Vacuum cleaner parts with mechanical damage can be repaired or replaced. When replacing electronic components, such as a capacitor, for example, you need to take into account its capacitance and the rated voltage for which it is designed. Replacement of the switch of the vacuum cleaner must correspond to the value of the current strength. Repairing the cord plug or completely replacing the cord itself is also not difficult here. When diagnosing the electrical circuit of a vacuum cleaner, it is necessary to obtain certain knowledge in using the device. Knowledge and experience are acquired over time, the previous descriptions of the repair of household appliances in this blog may serve as useful information for you.

LG vacuum cleaner repair

This topic is supplemented with personal photographs related to the repair of the LG vacuum cleaner, that is, the repair of the vacuum cleaner was accompanied by the implementation of photographs.

So, we have an LG vacuum cleaner and our task is to establish the cause of its malfunction. The vacuum cleaner for this example does not function, that is, a break in the electrical circuit must be determined.

As a result of such a diagnostic, it was found that the malfunction comes down to a single reason - a break in the electrical connection with the power switch \ photo No. 4 \. The power switch, which is also a potentiometer, is installed on the handle with a dust suction hose.

The vacuum cleaner hose is wired, a plug is installed at one end of the hose, or in other words, a connector for connecting to the vacuum cleaner socket \ photo No. 5 \.

Together, this is a detachable connection as with a plug and socket connection. Photo #6 shows the connector installed at the end of the suction hose.

In this fragment of photograph # 7, two contacts are visible located at the other end of the hose, which are designed to be connected in series with the power switch.

The contacts, as we can see, are barely noticeable for the serial connection with the switch mounted on the handle - they had to be freed a little from the plastic for subsequent soldering of the wires.

Photo #8 contains the following information:

For the convenience of making connections, the wires had to be slightly increased - increased in length. Initially, we take two pieces of wire, clean the ends of the wires from insulation and then pickle the ends of the wires with soldering acid.

Contacts located at the end of the hose \photo No. 7 \ are also etched. We apply soldering tin \ with a soldering iron \ on the etched places and connect the wires:

  • with contacts located on the hose;
  • with a power switch \ built into the handle of the hose \.

As you drew your attention \photo No. 8 \, - two pieces of cambric are put on the wires. After connecting the wires, cambrics are installed at the place of soldering - instead of electrical tape. Cambrics are commercially available in different diameters and in carrying out any repair of household appliances - this is a convenient way to insulate after soldered wire connections.

In order to check the wiring built into the hose of the vacuum cleaner, it is enough to short-circuit the connector \photo No. 9\ and connect the probe \photo No. 10 \ to the contacts located at the other end of the hose.

Using a probe, we can determine the cause of the malfunction for individual sections of the electrical circuit, in this example, you can determine the integrity of the wire or a wire break.

Well, we fixed the vacuum cleaner, the breakdown for the given example is insignificant and does not require any great knowledge in electrical engineering.

For you, this information will, as it were, represent the passage of a small workshop. Our topic will gradually develop, that is, examples related to the repair of vacuum cleaners will be given.

That's all for now.

    Washing vacuum cleaner Thomas T2, the motor is running, the pump does not turn on, the indicator lights up in orange, which may be the reason. Thank you.

    Hello! The Thomas vacuum cleaner broke down, I would like to understand the reason, I hope you can help. The engine stopped working, having disassembled the vacuum cleaner, it turned out that the leg on the condenser had broken. Since I’m no solderer, I took the vacuum cleaner to the workshop, where for some reason the craftsmen decided that the capacitor was completely useless there and simply cut it off. But I already found out about this later, after the vacuum cleaner sparkled and the smell of its insides during cleaning. Question: As far as I know, capacitors are installed to reduce sparking on the brushes, could the absence of a capacitor cause a short circuit in the motor and how?

    Hello. Help with disassembling the LG Kompressor vacuum cleaner. Just like in the photo in this article of yours

    Hello! The Bosch vacuum cleaner works for a minute and turns off, it will stand for 30 seconds - it turns on, and everything repeats. Tell me what is the reason.

    hello. Zelmer919 vacuum cleaner. 1.3 and 4 LEDs are on. what do they mean? Is it possible to fix this damage on my own?

    Hello! I recently bought a Thomas TT. during wet cleaning, water periodically stops spraying. At the same time, if you turn off the vacuum cleaner, and after a few minutes turn it on again, water is supplied. the pump is turned on by a separate button, and when only the pump is turned on, you can not hear the operation of its engine, is the pump faulty?

    Good day!!!
    the question will be about an LG brand vacuum cleaner with a dust collection cup. was bought 6 years ago.
    stopped sucking up debris, the engine is running, the hose is not clogged, the filter has been changed.
    in the service center they said that it was necessary to change the "motor", they announced the price of 1500 - the price for the motor and 1200 work. total 2700 rub.
    in my opinion, the service did not want to deal with the cause of the breakdown and took a simpler path.
    for 2700 you can buy a new more modern vacuum cleaner.
    what could be the reason and can i fix it myself?
    thank you in advance!!!

    I BOUGHT A LD VACUUM CLEANER A MONTH AGO IT WORKED WELL NOW IT HEATS STRONGLY AND AFTER 3 MINUTES OF WORK IT DISCONNECTS WHAT IT CAN BE OR IS IT A FACTORY FAILURE OR I DO SOMETHING NOT WRONG

    Hello. Have you met such a “wrong” operation of the LG VC 73203UHAO vacuum cleaner: the vacuum cleaner itself is container, dust and dirt almost do not get into the container, spin in the dust separator (cyclone), break into fine dust there and fly to the filters, which from such work quickly clogged. What is it connected with? We have a second vacuum cleaner of this type (quite a working one for 4 years), we tried to mutually change parts: hoses, containers, dust separators, filters. We came to the conclusion that this is a malfunction inside the vacuum cleaner itself. Behaves like this at first operation. On guarantee. We contacted the seller, they returned the vacuum cleaner with the note “technically sound, filters need to be replaced”, which I consider to be complete misinformation for me, as an experienced user of such equipment, we know how often the filters are washed and shaken out, and how the container can be filled ... The point is obviously not filters, but in corporate solidarity. By the way, our container never filled up. Your opinion is interesting.

    Good afternoon There is a Samsung household vacuum cleaner, the carbon brushes crumbled into dust. Please tell me - are there special brushes for such vacuum cleaners or can you try to pick up the usual ones for power tools?

    Hello, please help, yesterday I broke the vacuum cleaner, and I'm afraid that my mother will kill me for it. So, having vacuumed, I wanted to press the button and drag the cord into the vacuum cleaner. And it doesn't drag on! And before that, when I pulled out the cord, something seemed to crackle there. I don’t understand, either the button is broken, or the cord winder has failed.. Tell me the reason for the breakdown, and if possible, tell me if you can fix it yourself, and how to do it ??

    Hello, please tell me, the Samsung Canister Vacuum Cleaner T-65 vacuum cleaner works, but does not suck in debris, it seems to pull without a brush (but not like before), when you put the brush on, the traction becomes generally very weak. The brush and tubes were cleaned, the filter was washed. Yes, and he still buzzes somehow wrong. What could be the reason? The instruction in Russian was not found. Thank you

    hello! I have an LG compressor vacuum cleaner. After the warranty expired, this thing began to happen: during operation, the suction power starts to float, it can even stop sucking at all, and then it’s normal again. I wore it to the workshop, it works fine for them. case. help?

    Good afternoon
    There is a problem with the THOMAS hygiene T2 vacuum cleaner, when you attach the clean water tank during wet cleaning, even when the spray water pump is not working, water flows out of the tank, through the lower filter, when running, water also flows out. Since the warranty service period has passed, and the service is located at some distance from my locality, I decided to ask you a question, since you probably encountered this problem. What could be the problem, and is it possible to fix it at home?

    Good afternoon Could you help with advice on a separator vacuum cleaner (Hyla NST, water is poured into it as a filter to the specified level). Ordered used from ebay, received yesterday. After turning on, literally after a couple of minutes, the power cord starts to heat up, and then immediately the upper part with the motor. Previously used the same vacuum cleaner, ordered restored in connection with the move. There is no information about the electrical part in the instruction manual. The vacuum cleaner was cleaned, but not dismantled - we are afraid not to assemble it back. Could there be a reason that the mains current is 240 (Australia)? Can something be done? Thanks in advance for any recommendation.

    Hello. Tell me please, when I turn on the Samsung SC-6190 vacuum cleaner, it starts to work at low speeds intermittently (floating) in a minute, it turns off visually on the board there are no burnt parts. The board has T1650NT-61 and PIC16F716 (18 legs) be the reason? T1650NT-61 rang with a multimeter, 1 and 3 legs ring in both directions, 2 legs do not ring with either 1 or 3 legs. Thank you.

    Hello, we have an LG Kompressor vacuum cleaner, very similar to the one at the top in the picture in the example. I plug the cord into the outlet, the melody beeps. It does not turn on, only a petal spins back and forth in the dust collector. If, when turned on on the handle, pull out the dust collector, the red light on the handle starts to beep and flashes. If you still open the case and get the filter, it beeps more often. A friend took it to him to fix it, brought it home, and he works. What could be the reason?

    Hello
    Vacuum cleaner Samsung SC4034. For a couple of years now, the power regulator (aka the on / off button) has been acting up, it is difficult to set the maximum power, and if the regulator is carelessly touched, the power can drop sharply (which is not very convenient during cleaning).
    Is it possible to somehow replace it or do it without a power regulator at all (just on / off)?

    Good afternoon.
    Samsung SC6780. 3 years.
    When turned on, it works in short bursts.
    With a successful start, it can work for several minutes (and there are no complaints about power and adjustment and sound). But then it usually stops or starts to "twitch" in short jerks.
    brushes are long - normal. visible damage to the control board, motor, etc. not detected. Bearings are OK. The only thing I noticed: the vacuum cleaner pollution indicator does not work (if you block the suction).
    Thank you.

    Hello Victor. I have a Thomas twin tt vacuum cleaner. The following malfunction has occurred, the pump does not supply water during wet cleaning, however, the operation of the pump is heard, water appears from under the front of the vacuum cleaner from below. Until we disassembled the vacuum cleaner, what could be the problem and is it possible to fix it at home? Sincerely

    Good afternoon tell me, maybe you came across - the LG VK 8810HUMR vacuum cleaner, at MAX power, the light on the vacuum cleaner and on the handle starts blinking. The filters are washed, the bin is clean.
    Thank you!

    Good afternoon Tell me, please, - the LG VK 8801HTM vacuum cleaner, - in the “OFF” position of the speed controller, the engine runs at low speeds. RPM adjustment remains. I washed the rheostat with alcohol, dried it (blew it with an enema) - it did not help.

    Please tell me: by chance I got a broken Elenberg VC-2015 vacuum cleaner, though the insides are working. There is a CG-P1 part there to which two wires fit, and from it the tube goes to the engine inlet. What is this detail?

The design and scheme of the vacuum cleaner provides for the presence of the following main devices: a pointer (signaling device) for filling the dust collector with dust or a device for automatically turning off the engine when the dust collector is filled; electric motor power control device; automatic cord winder; replaceable disposable paper filters or dust compaction device; air flow control device.

Modern vacuum cleaners also have a built-in filter, which accumulates all the dirt and dust after cleaning the room.

For the correct operation of the engine in the vacuum cleaner, there is an interference suppression circuit on the power chokes. They are used to smooth out high frequency network ripples. After the chokes, the voltage is supplied to the smoothing capacitor, and only then the smoothed voltage is applied to the motor. The capacitor is also designed to smoothly start the vacuum cleaner motor.

Almost every vacuum cleaner has a special compartment into which the network cable of the vacuum cleaner goes, the length of this cable is about 3 meters

As part of expensive models of vacuum cleaners, there is a circuit for an electronic control system, a touch-sensitive power controller and an engine operating mode switch. The vacuum cleaner should also be equipped with small wheels for easy operation and movement. The diagram shows: 1 - dust bag, 2 - inlet filter, 3 - outlet filter.

Design of the air intake unit

The air-suction unit consists of upper 2 and lower 1 housings, a shield 5 and an electric motor with a fan device 15. The armature 13 of the electric motor is mounted on two bearings 4 n 9, covered with covers 3. 8. The rotation of the armature is left. The stator 12 of the electric motor is fixed on the shield 5 and the upper housing 2 with screws 6. In the upper part of the unit on the shield 5 there are brush holders 7 of carbon brushes 11. The brushes are closed with a cap 10. In the lower part of the unit on the armature shaft there are turbines 14 of the fan device and are fixed with a nut 16.

The vacuum cleaner does not work or works intermittently- Check the socket by plugging in a table lamp. Check the connecting cord and plug. To check, use a test lamp, a probe or an ohmmeter. Connect the breakage and carefully insulate. Check vacuum cleaner switch. If necessary, disassemble the vacuum cleaner and inspect the switch. Clean and bend the contacts or install a new switch. Inspect carefully the contact connections of the electrical circuit, especially the places of soldering and the presence of contacts at the junctions of the wires. Check carbon brushes and motor manifold. If necessary, replace the brushes. Take out the carbon brushes, stretch their springs and install in the old place. Remove the carbon brushes, wrap a piece of cotton wool soaked in alcohol or cologne on the rod and clean the inner surface of the brush holders. After that, install the brushes in place. If the carbon brushes are less than 3 mm long, they should be replaced. Clean the engine manifold with a cloth soaked in alcohol or cologne. Use a match to remove coal dust between the collector plates

Vacuum Cleaner Care Tips. Vacuum cleaners, compared to other household appliances, fail more often due to the use of collector motors with a high rotational speed. The engine is cooled by the flow of outgoing air and therefore the vacuum cleaner without cooling can only work for 10-15 minutes, and with cooling - 1-2 hours. After that, if you do not turn off the vacuum cleaner, it may fail. in this regard, when using a vacuum cleaner, you should adhere to a certain mode of operation.

The degree of dust content of the filter also affects the heating of the engine. For good performance of the appliance, you need to clean the filter regularly and store the vacuum cleaner in a dry place. It is not recommended to wash and wet the filter, as this reduces the throughput of the unit, which may cause it to overheat. The vacuum cleaner requires constant care: it is necessary to change the lubricant of the motor bearings at least once every 2 years and check the condition of the graphite motor brushes annually

"Veterok-4" works on the principle of a vacuum cleaner, a diagram of its assembly drawing is shown in the figure:

Vacuum cleaner malfunctions can be roughly divided into two groups: electrical and mechanical. Let's consider several cases. The vacuum cleaner is plugged in, the switch is flipped, but it does not work and does not make the slightest sound. Obviously, there is no current flowing to the motor.

Let's imagine a current path: a socket, a plug, a cord, and finally a motor winding. Let's start the search from simple to complex. First, check with any known good electrical appliance, preferably a table lamp, whether the socket is in order. If the lamp is on, inspect the plug and cord. We are looking for kinks, mechanical damage, we especially carefully examine the places where the cord enters the plug and into the body of the vacuum cleaner. There should be a rubber ring on the case that protects the cord from abrasion and breakage. If an external examination does not give anything, we disassemble the vacuum cleaner and check with an ohmmeter the presence of conductivity in the cores of the cord from the switch to the plug. Check the switch with an ohmmeter. Faulty switches and cords are replaced.

Another case: the vacuum cleaner is plugged in, the switch is flipped, but there are interruptions in operation, the sparking of the collector, which can be seen through the discharge hole.

First of all, you need to check the carbon brushes 4. Most often it happens that they wear out to the springs and the steel springs are already in contact with the collector. In this case, they must be replaced.

To replace the brushes, remove the sealing ring 8 and unscrew the screws 3. Remove the brushes by unscrewing the caps 7 and install new ones. Of course, all this is done with the vacuum cleaner disconnected from the mains. new brushes are placed with bevels against the rotation of the collector.

After installation, it is necessary to grind for better contact of the brushes with the collector. How to do this, see the picture. At the same time, not the slightest scratch on the turns of the stator or armature should be allowed - this will disable the engine! If you could not find native brushes, feel free to take brushes that are large in size but always of the same brand as your relatives (EG-8 brand brushes are well suited for vacuum cleaners). The smaller size is easy to make on a fine-grained file. however, it should be remembered that the brushes should move easily in the brush holder, without the slightest jamming. A small backlash is even useful - during operation, the brushes heat up and the backlash will be removed.

With prolonged use of the vacuum cleaner, the engine manifold "salts". For better contact of the brushes, it is useful to wipe it with a solvent or alcohol.

When the engine is running, the so-called polish is formed on the surface of the collector - a mixture of carbon brushes and collector copper. With the created polish, the brushes wear out the slowest. Grinding the commutator destroys the polish and the brushes will wear out quickly before new polish is formed.

Sometimes the sparking of the collector occurs with normal brushes. This can be caused by the following reasons: an interturn short circuit in the armature or stator winding and an increased load on the motor.

First of all, you need to check if there is an increased load on the engine. This can be caused by a blockage in the air system of the vacuum cleaner or a jamming of the engine. Old vacuum cleaners with a long service life almost always have a heavily worn bearing on the armature on the fan side. Sometimes it is worn out so badly that the armature starts to cling to the stator or the fan rotor clings to the housing. And even if it does not cling, then with a strong wear of the bearing, the air gap between the armature and the stator constantly changes, which causes current surges and, accordingly, sparking. In addition, an air filter that separates dust from air does not filter dust from air 100%. And over time, micro-dust particles stick to the bearing grease and sharply degrade its properties, even though sealed bearings are installed there. Therefore, the force for turning the bearings increases significantly, the current and sparking increase. This is easy to check - you need to take the anchor by the bearing and spin it. A bearing with dust instead of lubrication will have a characteristic "crunch". We change such a bearing or, in extreme cases, wash it with a solvent and clog it with Litol-24 grease. If the bearing is closed, then you have to break the plastic protection on the inside (not in contact with air) and also rinse and replace the grease.

If you spin an anchor with good bearings, it should make at least 10-15 revolutions without crunches. The noise of the bearings should be even, there should be no backlash.

An interturn short circuit in the armature or stator winding is usually characterized by very strong, usually circular, sparking, most often along with the smell of insulation.

First you need to try to determine where the inter-turn circuit occurred. Let's look at the anchor first. The windings should not have swelling of the insulation and blackening. Smell it, there should be no smell of burning insulation. Inspect the collector, sometimes there are short circuits between the plates, this can be seen with the naked eye. If the above signs take place, then things are bad. Anchors for vacuum cleaners are hard to find. And the rewinding of anchors is a complicated matter and only very skilled wrappers can do it. Therefore, most often the service life of rewound anchors is short.

The short circuit in the stator winding is quite simple to determine - you need to remove the brushes and measure the resistance of the stator winding (OB) 1 and 2, as well as the resistance between the housing and the windings. The difference between the resistances of winding 1 and winding 2 should be extremely small, they should not ring on the case. If the difference is significant (> 10%), we change the one with less resistance. It is easy to wind it yourself.

Therefore, when disassembling the vacuum cleaner, be sure to mark the relative position of the brush holder traverse and the body. If not marked, you can go the other way. We weaken the traverse and slowly turn it, fix it, achieving the least spark. If there is an ammeter, we turn the traverse, achieving the lowest no-load current. It is strongly not recommended to do this on the go - when starting, the engine will jump out of your hands and the traverse will move by itself. Also, the motor must not be started without a fan attached. The peculiarity of vacuum cleaner motors is that they must always work under load. Otherwise, it may break from repair.

When assembling the vacuum cleaner, check if you left a nut, screw or other object in the hole: once they get into the fan, they can completely destroy it. After all, the fan disks are made of duralumin with a thickness of about 0.8 mm.

Sometimes, during disassembly, the fan disks bend and then cling to the case. In this case, when assembling, a washer must be placed under one of the disks. At the same time, the suction pressure decreases. Therefore, it is necessary to disassemble the vacuum cleaner very carefully and do not bend anything.

What are the most common mechanical failures?

The vacuum cleaner works, but the vacuum created has decreased, it sucks dust very weakly. The engine makes a higher pitched sound than usual. This means that there is an obstruction in the path of the intake air. There may be a foreign object in the hose. It can be removed by attaching a hose to the outlet. If this does not help or the design of the vacuum cleaner does not allow this, the hose is cleaned with a long wooden lath with a rounded end or a piece of thick wire with a hook.

By and large, a vacuum cleaner is a fairly simple device and you do not need to have special knowledge and experience to repair it - it is enough to understand in general terms the principle of operation of an electric motor, switching devices (power buttons and power controls), and be able to hold a soldering iron and a screwdriver. My Samsung VC-6015V vacuum cleaner required repair twice and both cases of "surgical" intervention were successful. If you have any questions about the operation of a particular unit or method for checking electronic components, you can always consult by visiting the electronics forum, where more experienced specialists and amateurs will help in resolving any problems. Moreover, there are many topics on various techniques, where you can find, in addition to tips and discussions, also schematic diagrams of devices.

If the vacuum cleaner does not turn on

The first step is to make sure that the voltage reaches control boards. To do this, we remove the casing, the plastic panel with the power and cord rewind keys and see the control board in front of us. Tracks on the power cord coming from the winding unit, which terminals it goes to. We plug it into the network and measure the voltage at these terminals - if it is, it means that everything is in order with the cord.

Next, we check the operation of the power button (indicated by the number 1 in the figure). When the network is turned off, by calling its contacts in the on and off state - if switching occurs - let's move on. Need to check the circuit triac(indicated in the figure - 3) - for this, when the network is on, we check the voltage at the terminals already going to the engine - if present - this chain is in order, and if not - there is a high probability of damage to the triac, and it does not pass current through itself. These triacs can be easily found on any radio market and cost about $0.50.

Control board

If the voltage is still supplied to the engine, but it does not work, the first thing we check is thermal protection y - a device is mounted on the motor housing in a special holder that controls the temperature of the housing - if its value goes to the normal limit, the thermal protection interrupts the power supply circuit. If you ring the protection and make sure that everything is in order with it, it means that the reason is in the engine.

First of all, we check brushes- if they are worn out, the circuit between the stator winding and the rotor may disappear. The brushes should fit snugly against the rotor and have a margin of travel. Next, we check the entire chain with a tester (stator winding - brush - rotor - brush - stator winding) with the vacuum cleaner turned off and the terminals removed from the control board - and we see that there is a break in it. Yes, it’s a break, because if all the previous stages showed the integrity of the circuit and voltage is supplied to the motor, but it does not work, although the brushes are in order, this is a clear break in the winding. This is the most unpleasant moment, since the engine is non-separable, and it’s not so easy to get inside - only small slots at the top of the case. I must say right away - the cost of a new one is about $ 25. But sometimes you are still lucky, and you can eliminate the break - you need to check everything through the holes in the case where the ends of the windings are attached to the incoming terminals and brushes. The fasteners there are made in the form of a dovetail - the wire is inserted into the slot of the metal plate. As a result of constant vibrations, it can break in this place and break the chain. That is exactly what happened in my case. You can try to tighten the wire and fix it again, but sometimes this is impossible - you have to solder another piece of a couple of centimeters. It is inconvenient to solder through a small slot, but it is possible - as a result, the vacuum cleaner will work again.

The vacuum cleaner works, but its speed is not regulated

In this case, not a break inside the triac is possible, as with an idle vacuum cleaner, but a breakdown - the output voltage is not regulated, but is passed through itself without any control. The loss of contact in (indicated by number 2 in the figure) can also be the cause of such a malfunction. Everything is simple here - replacing either a slide resistor or a triac.

Vacuum cleaner motor

As a rule, vacuum cleaner malfunctions are easy to detect, and almost always can be fixed. An exception may be a short circuit inside the motor windings - it is difficult to eliminate this damage by rewinding the windings due to the non-separable case - and you have to replace the entire engine, which is also cost-effective - $ 25 is, after all, not 70 - 80 - exactly how much such a vacuum cleaner costs .

The vacuum cleaner is one of the most ingenious inventions. A patent for the invention was obtained in 1860. It is registered in the name of Daniel Hess, but in reality the vacuum cleaner was created much earlier. Modern vacuum cleaners have long strengthened their place in our daily lives. They, like other household devices, are designed to make our lives easier. Vacuum cleaner - in its design resembles an ordinary water pump, only it does not pump water, but air.

To get movement, you need an engine. The vacuum cleaner has a built-in high-speed motor. The number of revolutions per minute reaches up to 15000! (usually 10-12 thousand revolutions per minute). Engine power can reach up to 3 kilowatts. Typically, the average motor power of a vacuum cleaner should be in the order of 2000 to 2500 watts. It is from the power of the engine and the number of revolutions per minute that the power and efficiency of the vacuum cleaner as a whole depends. Adjustment of the engine operating modes is carried out by a mode switch or a powerful voltage regulator.

The vacuum cleaner also has a built-in filter in which all the dirt accumulates after cleaning the room. See structural email for details. scheme.

For reliable operation of the engine, there is also an interference suppression system, which is played by power chokes. They are designed to smooth out high-frequency network interference and noise. Then the voltage is supplied to the capacitor, which smooths out the voltage spikes, and only then the voltage is supplied to the motor. The capacitor also provides a smooth start of the vacuum cleaner motor. Simple motor connection diagrams are shown in the figure:

Almost any modern vacuum cleaner must have a special tank in which the power cable of the vacuum cleaner is placed, the length of this cable is about 3-5 meters.

More expensive modern vacuum cleaners may have an electronic control system, a touch-sensitive power controller and an engine mode switch. The vacuum cleaner should also be equipped with small wheels for easy operation and movement. The diagram shows: 1 - dust bag, 2 - inlet filter, 3 - outlet filter.

Tips for self-repair of a vacuum cleaner. If the vacuum cleaner does not work, you must first check the power socket. Check the connecting cord and plug. Remove coal dust between collector plates
