What does the term "offer" mean?

In order to find out what means the concept of an offer, it is necessary to refer to the primary source, which defines the basic concepts used in this process, namely the Civil Code of the Russian Federation articles 435, 436, 437. So where did the word offer come from and what does it mean in modern society?

The word offer happened from the Latin word "offero", which in turn translates as "offer". It follows from this that the concept of an offer means an offer (in the form of a letter or a draft agreement) addressed directly to one or a certain circle of persons, in which the intention of the person who made the offer to consider himself to have entered into an agreement with a person or a circle of persons who will be proposal accepted. In other words, an offer is a proposal for cooperation in writing, indicating the main parameters of the transaction before concluding an agreement.

Offer example

For example, a businessman needs the help of third-party organizations. Whether it is components necessary for the production or services for the supply of any product or commercial cooperation. This businessman sends a written proposal (offer) to the organization concerned. In this case, this businessman, according to the Civil Code, will be the offeror, and the legal entity (director or others) of the organization to which the proposal is sent will be called the acceptor.
