Professional installation and installation of stoves, fireplaces, chimneys

Installation of a fireplace stove and chimney is a very important and at the same time individual issue. For an accurate assessment of the labor intensity and cost of work, as well as the elements of the chimney and thermal insulation materials necessary for the installation, it is necessary for the master to visit the site directly. The installer of fireplace stoves will be able to see with his own eyes what he has to do, and the client can discuss all the nuances of the installation.

Why is it necessary to call a measurer to the object as the first step?

Solid fuel combined boilers Cooper from the Novosibirsk company Teplodar a few years ago literally “blew up” the heating equipment market. All this is quite understandable. Before the advent of these universal Kupper boilers, buyers were offered either expensive imported options or unsightly domestic counterparts with a “soviet” design.

Quite a wide range of models, price, nice appearance and good build quality have done their job. A lot of information about them has already appeared on the Internet, and it is the universal Cooper boilers that have only positive reviews from the owners, including from the specialists themselves.

Let's take a look at these water heaters, consider the model range, technical characteristics, device, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of combined solid fuel boilers of the Kupper brand.

The lineup

Cooper boilers are available in six main modifications:

1. Cooper OVK-10
2. Cooper OK-15
3. Cooper OVK-18
4. Cooper OK-20
5. Cooper OK-30
6. Cooper OK-42

What do all these letters and numbers in the marking mean?
The letters OK are a heating boiler, HVAC is a heating boiler with a hob (stove) for cooking. The numbers indicate the thermal power of this particular model. In OVK-10 boilers, fuel can be loaded directly from above, after removing the cooking stove from it.

Models OVK-10, OK-15, OVK-18, OK-20, OK-30

Cooper boilers are available in different capacities from 10 to 42 kW. The smallest boiler OVK-10 is able to heat a house up to 100 square meters, the most powerful OK-42 up to 400 meters.

In addition to the main modifications, Teplodar produces a series of boilers Cooper 22 Pro, Cooper Pro 28, Cooper Pro 36 and Cooper 42 Pro. These are universal, they are distinguished by a larger volume of the loading chamber, which increases the operating time from one firewood bookmark to another up to eight hours. These models have an additional chamber for afterburning gases produced by wood during its smoldering.

The device and wiring diagram of the boiler Cooper

Boilers of this series consist of:

- steel case 3 mm thick;
- tubular multi-row heat exchanger;
— solid fuel loading chambers;
- kindling chamber;
- a layer over the entire volume of the boiler for its better thermal insulation;
- a box for collecting ash;
- thermometer;
- an internal fitting for installing a block of heating elements.

The principle of operation of the boiler

Solid fuel is placed through the loading door: firewood, coal or peat in briquettes. In the lower chamber you make kindling. When the fuel burns, heat is released, which heats the water in the heat exchanger (water jacket).

The heated coolant moves through the heating system either naturally or with the help of a circulation pump installed on the return pipe of the system. Exhaust flue gases are discharged through the boiler pipe into the chimney. The diameter of the flue pipe of these boilers is 150 mm, and for the OVK-10 model it is 120 mm.

The efficiency of heating the coolant in this wood-burning boiler was made possible thanks to a multi-row heat exchanger with pipes arranged in a checkerboard pattern. Water passes inside the boiler through the pipes of the heat exchanger without stagnation in it. On top of that, excellent thermal insulation with basalt significantly increases the efficiency of a solid fuel boiler.

Operation of a boiler with a thermostat in long-term burning mode

In order for the device to work in an economical mode, it is necessary to purchase a special thermostat for the boiler. For it, a side threaded fitting is provided in the boiler body, where it is installed.

The thermostat comes with a chain, which must be connected at one end to the damper of the boiler’s ignition door, and at the other end directly to the thermostat.

There is a special temperature scale on the thermostat, setting the desired temperature, through the circuit and the door damper it regulates the air supply to the boiler furnace. Thus, the set temperature is maintained and our fuel is saved.

Judging by the reviews on Kupper boilers, when using this thermostat, the boiler can work on one firewood tab for up to 7-8 hours.

Boiler operation on electricity, gas and pellets

All models of Kupper boilers are equipped with heating elements with a power of 6 kW. Models with a rated power of 30 kW or more - heating elements of 9 kW. This makes it possible to use the boiler not only on solid fuel, but also on electricity.

Of course, with the help of heating elements with a total capacity of 6 kW, it will be difficult to heat a house with an area of more than 100 m2, but to maintain a certain temperature of the coolant, it is quite enough.

For convenient control of a group of boiler heating elements, it is possible to purchase a special control panel (CP) with temperature sensors for water and air. With its help it is very convenient to switch heating elements. You can, for example, turn on only 1 for 2 kW or 2 for 2 kW. True, the control panel is not included in the package, but you can buy it separately.

In addition, Cooper boilers can run on gas or pellets. To do this, it is possible to purchase a special automatic gas burner device (gas burner) AGG-13, -26, -40K with a capacity of 13, 26 or 40 kW, respectively, or APG-25 (-42).

Gas and pellet burners are installed in place of the boiler's ignition door. The door is removed and the necessary additional equipment cuts in instead of it.

Cooper boiler with gas burner

It should be noted that the gas consumption when using such a burner will be higher than that of a typical floor burner.

Thus, by purchasing a wood-burning boiler Cooper, you get a universal, combined boiler of the "wood-electricity" or "gas-electricity" type.

How to choose the right boiler of the Cooper OK series: technical specifications

If you need to heat a room of 100-120 sq. meters, it is better to buy a Kupper OK-15 boiler with a power of 15 kW. If cooking is also planned on the boiler, then you can choose the OVK-18 model with a capacity of 18 kW. And, for example, for a house of 200-250, we would recommend purchasing a boiler of the OK-36 model.

Remember the basic rule for selecting thermal equipment: 1 kW per 10 m2, and a small margin so as not to operate the boiler at the limit of its capabilities.

Introduction

In pursuit of versatility, many manufacturers producing heating equipment produce devices that can switch from one type of fuel to another if necessary. The Teplodar company, which released the Kupper universal boiler, was no exception, capable of switching from coal and wood to gas or pellets in the blink of an eye. Our today's review is devoted to a detailed analysis of this model and its varieties.

The Teplodar company has been on the heating equipment market for almost 20 years. During this time, we have gained a lot of experience in creating inexpensive, efficient and reliable equipment. At the moment, its assortment includes more than 100 models of various heating devices, which are among the leaders in the Russian market.

Solid fuel boiler "Cooper" wins customers not only for its versatility, but also for its attractive design, which is quite rare for the domestic market. Let's get to know him better and analyze his distinctive features.

Design features

The heating boiler "Cooper" has a steel case, inside of which there are chambers of the furnace and ash pan, surrounded by a water jacket. To increase the efficiency of heat removal, in the upper part of the boiler, the right and left sides of the heat exchanger are connected by transverse pipes arranged in a checkerboard pattern. The space of the combustion chamber is separated from the pipes by a steel visor. Flue gases do not move directly to the chimney, but go around this obstacle, giving even more energy to the coolant and increasing the efficiency of the boiler. To reduce heat loss, the body is covered with insulating basalt cardboard, on top of which the body panels are located.

Photo 1: The design of a solid fuel boiler from Teplodar "Kupper" OK

"Cooper" can be used in . For convenience of connection to the supply and return lines, branch pipes are located on the right and left walls of the boiler, above and below.

Attention! It is recommended to connect only to the branch pipes on one side. When connecting the supply and return to different sides of the boiler, the heat exchange efficiency in the water circuit is reduced.

To adjust the intensity of combustion in the lower part of the body is a damper. By opening or closing it, you can control the air supply to the furnace. This can be done manually, or you can install an automatic traction control. It measures the temperature in the heat exchanger and adjusts the damper opening according to the set values. This process is mechanical and does not require a power supply.

The Cooper household boiler can maintain a constant temperature in the system between coal or firewood, using electricity. For these purposes, each device has built-in heating elements with a capacity of 6-9 kW.

Below is a table with their technical characteristics:

A little review from the owner:

I chose for a long time and in the end I decided to buy a Cooper OK 20 boiler in my country house, which has not yet been completed. Heating system with metal-polymer pipes and aluminum radiators. The warm floor is launched by a separate circuit. About 3 tons of coal and about 4 cubic meters of firewood were used on an area of 120 square meters during the winter. Considering the inertia of the solid fuel combustion process, I installed a hydraulic separator.

Arkady Ivanovich, Voronezh

Kupper boilers are capable of operating on gas or fuel pellets when the appropriate burners are installed on them, which are also produced by the Teplodar plant.

Boilers "Cooper" with a hob

This series is a modification of the previous one and consists of only two devices for 10 and 18 kW. The main feature is the presence of a cast-iron hob. Not only will you be able to heat your home, but you can also cook food on the stove.

The main parameters of the models:

Here is what users on the forums say about this modification:

We use the Cooper OVK-18 boiler for heating a two-story production facility. The heating system has 10 radiators on both floors and a heat accumulator. We heat with briquettes from spruce sawdust. 2 packs of 60 rubles each are enough for a day. They tried to heat with coal, the consumption was 1.5-2 buckets per knock at a price of 30 kg of a bag of 220 rubles. During severe frosts, heating elements were connected, and then only 2 kW out of 6.

Elena Vladimirovna, Yekaterinburg

The HVAC series is also ideal for installation in small country houses.

Pellet boiler "Cooper"

It is a boiler of the OK or OVK series with an installed pellet burner APG-25 and a bunker with a control unit. For the operation of equipment for burning fuel pellets, it is necessary to have a power supply. It can be installed without any modifications directly on the existing boiler connected to the heating system.

Photo 4: Automatic pellet boiler "Cooper" with burner APG-25

Below is a comparative description of Cooper boilers with a pellet burner:

Feedback on the operation of the Kupper boiler on fuel pellets:

I connected the APG-25 pellet burner to the OVK-18 boiler. The settings are simple, everything is simple and clear. Electricity consumes 2 kW per day, the consumption of white pellets is 4 kg / hour. The system works flawlessly, the granules do not get stuck. The only downside is that the fan is quite noisy and needs to be replaced.

Vladislav Borisovich, Krasnodar

If your house has already installed a device of the OK or OVK series and there is a reliable supplier of pellets, then you can safely purchase and install pellet equipment from Teplodar.

Gas boiler "Kupper"

The transfer of the boiler from solid fuel to gas is carried out by installing a gas burner AGG-13K or AGG-26K. For these purposes, OK and HVAC boilers are suitable, even if they are already installed and previously worked on wood or coal.
