However, salads, for the preparation of which various exotic products were used, are already good in themselves and do not need any additional decoration!

Festive salads can include a wide variety of ingredients - meat, fish, mushrooms, seafood, vegetables, fruits, cheeses, all kinds of pickles and smoked meats, etc. And both mayonnaise and sour cream, natural yogurt, vegetable oils, lemon juice or various sauces. That is why there are a great many recipes for holiday salads, among which you can always choose the most suitable options.

And in order for the festive salads to turn out to be really successful and to please both the guests and the household not only with their great taste, but also with their attractive appearance, it is important to try to follow a few simple rules.

In order for the leaf lettuce not to lose its fresh appearance for as long as possible, it is recommended to season salads with it just a few minutes before serving. However, this also applies to most other salads - ideally they are seasoned right before serving. The only exception are layered salads - such dishes need time to soak well.

If you want to make the salad more fragrant, you can briefly put a small lemon wedge into it or drip a few drops of lemon juice. This approach will also help to enrich the finished dish with vitamin C!
As for vegetables, all vegetables that will later show off in a festive salad should be cooked over medium heat in a container with a tightly covered lid. In this case, the minimum amount of water should be taken. And in order to preserve the maximum of the most useful substances in vegetables, it is best to cook them in their skins and peel them only after cooking!

Do not forget that it is unacceptable to mix cold ingredients with hot ones - all ingredients must be cooled to room temperature before preparing salads (if salads are not hot)!

Salad "Tenderness"

Ingredients: a package of crab sticks, five hard-boiled eggs, mayonnaise and onions (can be replaced with green onions).
Cooking: Divide the peeled eggs into whites and yolks, grate the whites on a coarse grater, the yolks do not go into the salad. Crab sticks are cut into strips, onions are chopped into strips and poured over with boiling water (the bitterness should go away). Sticks, onions, proteins and mayonnaise are mixed. One yolk can decorate the salad, crumbling it evenly.

Salad with smoked meat and croutons
Ingredients: two packs of ready-made crackers, 1 can of corn, half a smoked chicken fillet, two fresh tomatoes, 1 glass of Korean carrots and mayonnaise.
Cooking: mix corn (drain the liquid) with croutons, chopped tomatoes, diced smoked meat, carrots and mayonnaise. Salad is served immediately!

Salad "Favorite"

Ingredients: Beijing cabbage, fresh bell pepper, canned peas, smoked chicken meat, croutons (cut into slices of loaf and fry until crispy), mayonnaise. All products must be taken in 200 grams.
Cooking: vegetables are washed and cut into strips, meat is chopped into cubes; all components are mixed in a salad bowl, mayonnaise is added and at the very end - croutons. Everything is mixed and served to the table.

Salad with chicken liver
Ingredients: 3 pickles, 3 carrots, 2 onions, 4 eggs, 400 gr. liver, 100 gr. cheese, garlic, mayonnaise, fresh herbs.
Cooking: boil the liver, cut the carrot into strips and fry; grate cucumbers, eggs and cheese, finely chop the onion. The salad is laid out in layers with mayonnaise layers: grated liver, then cucumbers, then carrots, eggs, grated cheese. The top cheese layer is decorated with chopped herbs. The salad must be allowed to soak for about two hours, and after that it can already be served to guests.

Salad "Beans" (with canned beans and crab sticks)

Ingredients: a small pack of crab sticks, two fresh bell peppers, 400 gr. canned beans, hard cheese 100 grams, green feather onions, mayonnaise, garlic and fresh cilantro (who loves).
Cooking: the cheese is rubbed on a grater, the sticks and pepper are crushed into cubes, the greens are finely chopped, the garlic is passed through a press, the liquid is drained from the beans. We mix all the products, add mayonnaise, garlic and herbs. Let's bring the salad to the table!

Salad "Imperial" with radish and meat
Ingredients: 1 radish, 1 chicken breast, 1 carrot, 1 onion, 2 eggs, 50 ml of milk, soy sauce, salt, mayonnaise.
Cooking: grate carrots and radishes on a Korean grater, sprinkle with salt, squeeze out the juice and pour over with soy sauce; mix eggs with milk and fry thin omelet pancakes; cut the onion into strips and fry; boil the meat and cut it thinly. The cooled omelettes are cut into strips, meat, onions, carrots and radishes are added to them. The salad is dressed with mayonnaise.

Salad with carrots (without mayonnaise)
Products: peeled seeds - half a glass, one large carrot, two apples, lemon, olive oil.
Cooking: fry the seeds, grate the carrot (raw), grate the apple and pour over the lemon juice. Everything is mixed and oiled. The salad is very tasty and low in calories!

Chicken High Salad (delicious)

You will need: smoked chicken breast, three fresh tomatoes, long loaf, mayonnaise and dry poppy seeds.
How to cook: the loaf is cut into cubes and fried; the breast is chopped finely, the tomatoes are cut into cubes. The first layer is a breast smeared with mayonnaise, then tomatoes + mayonnaise, croutons, followed by a mayonnaise net. The top of the salad is sprinkled with poppy seeds. The salad is very effective and tasty, it does not take time to soak it.

Salad with feta cheese and grapes

Products: 1 boiled fillet, 100 gr. grapes, 50 gr. feta, 100 gr. pistachios, a small bunch of arugula.
Cooking: feta and meat are cut into cubes, large grapes are cut into two halves each, pistachios are chopped with a knife, arugula is washed and torn into large pieces. All components are mixed and seasoned with a dressing consisting of liquid honey (1 tablespoon), grainy mustard (1 tablespoon), olive oil (2 tablespoons) and a couple of drops of balsamic vinegar.

Simple rustic salad
You will need: three fresh tomatoes, three pickled cucumbers, one red onion, sunflower oil.
Cooking: onions are cut into rings, tomatoes and cucumbers - into slices. Mix tomatoes, cucumbers, add onion and sunflower oil, mix.

beef heart salad

Ingredients: one heart, two cucumbers (fresh), three eggs, one hundred grams of cheese, herbs and mayonnaise (you can season the salad with sour cream).
Cooking: the heart is boiled, cooled and cut into strips; cucumbers are chopped into slices, greens are finely chopped, boiled eggs are rubbed on a grater. Mix heart, eggs, cucumbers, herbs, add grated cheese and mayonnaise. We serve to the table.

Salad "Red Sea"
Would need: a package of crab sticks, two fresh tomatoes, three cloves of garlic and mayonnaise, plus herbs for decoration.
Cooking: sticks are cut coarsely, tomatoes are diced, garlic is passed through a press. We combine everything and mix with mayonnaise. Put in a salad bowl and decorate with herbs.

Salad with salted salmon and cheese

Ingredients: 300 gr. salmon, 4 eggs, 200 gr. cheese, sour cream, dill.
Cooking: boil eggs, cool, then chop on a grater. Finely chop the fish, chop the cheese on a grater, chop the greens finely. Lay out in layers: eggs + sour cream, salmon + sour cream, herbs and the last layer is cheese. Garnish this salad with thinly sliced ​​lemon slices.

Salad with champignons
Would need: 3 eggs, 1 carrot, a jar of corn, 300 gr. raw champignons, mayonnaise and broccoli 200 gr.
Cooking: Boil broccoli until tender and disassemble into small pieces, cut mushrooms into strips, fry in oil. Grate the carrots and lightly fry, drain the liquid from the corn, fry three pancakes from the eggs and cut them into strips. Combine mushrooms with corn, broccoli, carrots and chopped egg pancakes, add mayonnaise and mix, serve the salad to the table in portion molds.

Salad "Mushroom meadow"

Would need: 200 gr. hard cheese and carrots in Korean, one chicken fillet, a jar of champignons, 3 potatoes, 4 pickled cucumbers, fresh onions and dill, mayonnaise.
Cooking: boil the potatoes and chicken breast separately, chop the cucumbers finely, grate the cheese, drain the liquid from the mushrooms. We put mushrooms in a salad bowl with hats down, sprinkle with abundantly chopped herbs, then lay out chopped potatoes, draw a mayonnaise net on top of it, sprinkle with cucumbers, grease them with mayonnaise, then go chicken meat + mayonnaise, Korean carrot + mayonnaise and cheese. Send the salad in the cold for three hours, then turn the salad bowl over into a flat dish, as a result, the mushrooms should decorate the salad on top. The dish is very tasty and festive!

Salad with herring and beans
Ingredients: 2 herring fillets, 2 apples, 2 beets, 1 glass of red beans, 1 onion and three eggs, mayonnaise.
Cooking: boil eggs and vegetables, cool and cut into cubes; cut apples and herring fillet into cubes. Mix the chopped ingredients, add chopped onion, boiled (can be replaced with canned) beans and mayonnaise.

Shrimp salad
You will need: 700 gr. shrimp, 3 tomatoes, 100 gr. cheese, onion and mayonnaise.
How to cook: Boil the shrimp, cut the tomatoes into cubes, chop the onion finely, grate the cheese. Mix everything and add some mayonnaise. Quick and easy salad ready!

vegetable cake

Products: 3 onions, 6 boiled potatoes, 7 pickles, 2 boiled beets, 1/2 can of peas, mayonnaise and 5 boiled eggs.
Cooking: lay out layers and coat with mayonnaise alternately grated cucumbers, potatoes, onions (finely chopped), peas, beets, carrots and eggs. Decorate the top of the vegetable cake with green peas and herbs.

Salad "Kill me gently" (with mushrooms and crab sticks)
You will need: pack of crab sticks, 300 gr. mushrooms, 3 onions, 2 boiled carrots, 1 boiled egg, mayonnaise.

Hello! This time, as promised, I will share with you the recipes several salads at once, which are delicious, both individually and in combination.

And the story of their appearance in our family is as follows. I think I won’t be mistaken if I say that throughout the entire territory of the former Soviet Union there is approximately one list of festive dishes, in which there are definitely Olivier salads, or capital ones, and herring under a fur coat. Our city is no exception in this sense. Often on the table there is also a vinaigrette or beetroot salad with garlic.

We had a housewarming party, and the guests gathered in different companies for several weeks. Of course, I wanted to feed and surprise everyone. Therefore, for each company of guests, their own, each time a new, festive menu was compiled. And I didn’t include boring, albeit beloved, salads in it, especially since in the spring I wanted something unusual. Then an unchanging tradition was born in our house to cook these unusual, but at the same time light salads for the festive table.

The filling in this recipe can be absolutely anything, I just like such an original presentation. This time I wrapped some kind of Olivier in pita bread. By the way, our recent one is also perfect.

In my "Olivier" this time were:

  • potatoes, medium size - 2 pcs.
  • carrots, medium size - 2 pcs.
  • eggs - 2 pcs.
  • pickled cucumbers, small - 3 pcs.
  • dill and green onion - a few sprigs
  • salt pepper
  • mayonnaise for dressing

2. My salad of fresh carrots with raisins and nuts

To be honest, I don’t remember if I ate it somewhere or invented it myself, or maybe I just improved it on a whim, but the ingredients in it are:

Ingredients:

  • carrots, medium size - 3 pcs.
  • walnuts - 50 gr.
  • light raisins - 50 gr.
  • salt pepper
  • sour cream for dressing

Step by step recipe:

  1. Grate carrots on a coarse grater.
  2. Cut nuts into pieces the size of raisins.
  3. Mix everything, salt, pepper to taste and season with sour cream.

Sour cream is desirable to take low-fat.

I also sometimes add a spoonful of mayonnaise for taste and sometimes granulated sugar if the carrot is unsweetened.

I also make a cheese salad with this salad. I learned his recipe in Kyiv, at one of the feasts with relatives. I think I will not be mistaken if I say that only I do this in Baku.

3. Cheese salad with garlic

For it we need:

  • processed cheese (harder) - 2 pcs.
  • garlic - 2 cloves
  • mayonnaise for dressing

I take Russian curds, such as Druzhba. Maybe this salad will also be delicious from gouda, for example, but I stick to the recipe in the form in which it was announced to me at one time.

Be careful with salt, because garlic enhances the taste, and mayonnaise and cheese are already salty!

For more showiness, cheese salad can be served as an appetizer by stuffing bell peppers with them and cutting them into 4 parts. It turns out very fresh and beautiful.

4. Salad of fresh vegetables and cheese with canned corn

The air smells of spring and you want something light and unusual. Then I remember the history of the invention of a special salad. This salad appeared by chance when I just got married, we moved to a tiny rented apartment, I had a lot of free time and I spent it on culinary experiments.

On that day, there were pancakes for breakfast, and the mother-in-law was waiting for dinner for dinner. I needed to come up with something light and tasty. I decided to cook pancakes with meat and some light salad. I bought cucumbers, tomatoes, white cheese and began to think how to make an ordinary salad original. I decided to buy canned corn and focus on the sauce.

Looking ahead, I will say that the dinner was a success and, first of all, thanks to an unusual salad. And now, actually, the recipe.

Ingredients:

For salad:

  • bunch of fresh green lettuce
  • 3-4 medium tomatoes
  • 3 small cucumbers
  • 100−150 gr. white cheese (you can use any, I had a not very salty, elastic variety)
  • 100 gr. canned corn
  • a few sprigs of green onions

For sauce:

  • 3 art. l. vegetable oil (I love olive oil, but you can use any in this salad)
  • 2-3 tbsp. l. balsamic vinegar
  • 1 st. l. honey
  • 1 clove of garlic
