We stayed at the Sanya Yiyang Nantian Hotspring Resort Hotel, about 3-5 minutes walk from it and you are in the thermal complex. The complex is a huge territory surrounded by greenery among which there are baths with thermal water, water in each bath of different temperature and various additions, there is a bath with wine, rose petals, coconut milk, lime, etc. Also on the territory there is a small water park for children, a swimming pool for adults and a children's area with plain water and around a recreation area with sun loungers and umbrellas. On the territory there is a restaurant and a cafe where you can have a bite to eat, as well as massage, Chinese, with herbs, stones, etc. the cost of a Chinese massage for 60 minutes is 90 yuan, that is, 900 rubles.

Next, we went to Haitangbei Bay, located 50 minutes drive from Phoenix Airport and 27 km from Sanya city. In this bay, almost all hotels are located on the first coastline. Rest in this bay suggests secluded and calm. It is planned that Haitangbei Bay will become a tourist mecca for luxury holidays on the island of Hai'an. Luxury hotels of world brands are located in this bay: Hyatt, Westin, Sofitel, Double Tree, Sheraton. And Haitangbei Bay is in a prime position to visit Nan Tian Hot Spring just 15 minutes away, Monkey Island, Wuzhizhou Island Water Fun Center. Yanoda Tropical Park is a 30-minute drive away. The most popular bay among tourists is Dadonghai. In the resort area of Dadonghai Bay, there is simply a sea of entertainment for every taste, diving, fishing, many restaurants, bars and cafes, including those with Russian cuisine, Anans, Winter and Summer shopping centers, fruit shops, in the evening the city is alive. The cost in cafes and restaurants is much lower than in other bays of the island. The beaches in Dadonghai are municipal, umbrellas and sunbeds for an additional fee, about 100 rubles. But there are hotels with their own area on the beach. Hotels are mostly with a small territory, there are no Russian-speaking staff, and English is not spoken everywhere.

Next, we visited Sanyabey Bay, it is located closest to the city of Sanya, and closest to Phoenix International Airport, where all flights from Russian regions arrive. Hotels in Sanyabey Bay are of different star categories, but they are all located across the road from the sea, regardless of the 5 * and 3 * hotel. The beach is municipal, but some hotels have their own area on the beach. The infrastructure is at some distance from the hotels, that is, it takes about 10-15 minutes to walk to cafes or restaurants or 4-5 minutes to drive. But you can use local rickshaws, the Chinese drive along the embankment and offer tourists to bring you to the street with a cafe or to a specific place for 5 yuan. It takes 15 to 50 minutes to drive from Sanyibei to the city of Sanya, it depends on the location of the hotel. For example, from the Palm Beach 5 * hotel, it takes about 50 minutes by bus, 40-35 minutes by taxi. The bay and the city of Sanya are connected by excellent transport links, every 200 meters there are bus stops, the city can be reached by bus number 4, number 2 or by taxi.

At the end of our trip to Hainan Island, we visited Shenzou Bay. A beautiful bay with breathtaking scenery, a wide beach line and beautiful sea. Rest in this bay is supposed to be calm, for those who want to take a break from the bustle of the city. At the entrance to the reserve, tourists must be instructed, according to which macaques must not be scared, teased and fed. Even attempts to touch them can lead to unpredictable consequences. However, not all monkeys living on the Island are in the wild. The reserve has its own theater and circus with trained individuals performing complex tricks and tricks. Walking through the park, you will also have the opportunity to take unusual photos with trained monkeys that will pose for you.

Entrance is free almost everywhere, showers, changing rooms and toilets too. The only thing you have to pay for is sun loungers and umbrellas (20-50 CNY) and all kinds of water activities (from 200 CNY for a trip on a boat or "banana" to 1000 CNY for fishing on a specially equipped boat).

Hainan has many picturesque natural parks and reserves. In one of them, on Monkey Island, more than 2,000 tailed inhabitants live. On the shores of the picturesque Dongshanhu Lake, there is the largest natural zoo in the Asian region (official site in English). There are also dangerous predators - lions, tigers, crocodiles, so the tours are conducted by jeeps or buses. This place bears little resemblance to our familiar zoo with cramped cages. Animals are kept in conditions as close to natural as possible. The zones are separated, but the enclosures are so spacious that their borders are almost invisible. Peaceful inhabitants can be approached, stroked and fed.

Around 100 BC, the Chinese Han Empire decided to conquer the island and even built several fortresses on the coast. But, in the end, it was decided that “the game is not worth the candle”, and the Chinese retreated.
From that moment on, Hainan became a haven for fugitive Chinese who were hiding from political repression or from justice. There were no authorities here, and no one was ever looked for here.
Hainan was originally inhabited by the Li people, but gradually the island was colonized by the Chinese - these are the Han people. This colonization took 2000 years and was very peaceful. Even now, Li people make up 15% of the local population.
Tourists like to show the elements of Li culture, this gives the island an extra flavor. Their culture resembles a cross between Chinese and Polynesian (see photo on the left).
Compare this to what the Spaniards and the British did during the colonization of America, and you will understand that the Chinese are traditionally a peaceful nation.
The first shock here occurred in 1939, when the Japanese captured this territory. The inhabitants of the island waged a guerrilla struggle, and the Japanese in response killed everyone they could get to. Between 1939 and 1945, a third of the population died here. The Japanese used the island as a base for their invasion of Thailand and the Malay Peninsula. Japan expected success, Thailand and Singapore were captured by them.
After World War II, the island was under the control of the Chinese Kuomintang party, but in 1950 the communists of Mao Zedong retook it. It is believed that this was the main rehearsal for the assault on the stronghold of the Kuomintang party - the island of Taiwan, but the conquest of Taiwan did not take place.
Until the 80s, everything was quiet in Hainan, until a special economic zone was founded here, and the rapid development of tourism began. Now highways, railway lines and other infrastructure facilities are being actively built here.
It is due to the lack of useful resources that Hainan has remained a “paradise on Earth”, where everyone can come and spend an unforgettable vacation. Plants and factories were not built here, they did not have time to destroy nature.
However, minerals are present in this land, iron ore, copper, gold and silver are mined here. But these resources have become available for development only recently.

Spring is considered a wonderful holiday season in Hainan. At this time of the year in Sanya, the air temperature becomes higher, and in May the thermometer can show + 32C. At the very beginning of spring, the water warms up to + 28C. The climatic conditions on the island in April are also favorable for recreation, it is warm and cozy here. But closer to the beginning of May, it is already sultry in Hainan, and if you are going to go on excursions, then be prepared for the heat to be exhausting.
Tourist activity in the summer on the island is reduced. During the summer season on the island, the rainy peak is constantly replaced by heat. You need to be extremely careful, because at this time you can get sunburn. July is considered the hottest month. The air temperature in any month of summer is always high and rises above + 33C. At night, the thermometer does not fall below + 25C, and the water warms up to + 30C.
