Yuri “selected” Dasha Astafieva, an ex-“manufacturer”, even before the project. But “Factory” is not the only thing that Dasha became famous for: she also managed to star in several erotic photo shoots and became a Playmate of “Playboy Ukraine” magazine. Astafieva is very proud of this: “Playmate of the year is an achievement for me, because I am planning a trip where I can show Ukraine at the global Playmate competition. The second “half” of NikitA, Yulia Kavtaradze, is a former member of “A.R.M.I.I.”, who left the group in the last months of pregnancy. The group’s first video is being shot by director Alexander Filatovich, and this is not the first time Nikitin’s team has worked with him. At the directing department, where Astafieva studied, they taught vocals. According to Dasha, she really liked the classes, so she regularly studied with the teacher on her own. Having moved to Kyiv, Daria met producer Yuri Nikitin, from whom she later received an offer to take part in the Ukrainian “Star Factory” (2007). Since 2007, already an employee of the Mamamusic company, Astafieva began to study vocals professionally. And although, having become a finalist, she did not take a prize, Daria later gained popularity thanks to her participation in the group Nikita, which she joined together with Yulia Kavtaradze, a former member of the group A.R.M.I.Ya. In March 2009, the group released his debut album "Machine". In the same year, the Nikita group applied to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest as representatives of Ukraine, but in the end they refused, which was largely due to the increased popularity of Dasha Astafieva as a fashion model.
Model
In an interview with the men's Internet portal AskMen.com, Dasha admitted that she began dreaming of becoming a Playboy model at the age of nine, when she accidentally found an issue of the magazine at home with Katharina Witt on the cover. In fact, Katarina appeared on the cover of the American edition of the magazine only in December 1998, when Astafieva was 13 years old.
Be that as it may, already at the age of 16 the girl took part in a beauty contest, which took place in Dnepropetrovsk. There she met a model from Denmark, who advised Dasha to try herself as a fashion model. Probably, I “pulled” the figure to myself...” Neither at that time nor in the future did Astafieva pay the photographers: the calculation took place according to the “time for material” scheme. From the age of 16 to 20, Astafieva had photo sessions almost every day. One famous photographer, who was interested in doppelgängers, saw Astafieva’s photographs and thought that she looked similar to Bettie Page, an American model of the 1950s. Dasha’s first serious photo shoot took place in her role.
In April 2006, Astafieva became the “playmate of the month” of the Ukrainian edition of Playboy, and the following year, 2007, she won the “girl of the year” title. According to the editor-in-chief of “Playboy Ukraine” Vlad Fisun, this time the rules for choosing the best girl were changed: the decision was made not by the editorial board of the magazine, but by the readers themselves via SMS voting, thus, to a certain extent, the girl’s victory was ensured by her popularity as a participant in the “Star Factory” " Astafieva’s photo shoot for the Ukrainian edition of Playboy was reprinted by 15 editions of the magazine around the world. After the photographs were included in the American editorial board in June 2008, the girl was invited to film in the USA. Astafieva was invited to participate in a competition for an anniversary cover in honor of the 55th anniversary of the magazine. Prior to this, the casting took place all over the world, five American women were chosen among all the applicants, while the Ukrainian was invited out of competition.
Finding herself at the villa of Hugh Hefner, the 82-year-old founder of Playboy, Astafieva immediately became the object of his attention. Later, explaining the reasons for his sympathy, Daria said: “He and I are very similar: we listen to the same music, watch the same films (mostly old ones), read the same books. Hef once admitted to me that he sees his reflection in me.” In addition, many, including Hugh himself, noted the physical similarity between Astafieva and Bettie Page, the famous model of the 1950s, who also starred for Playboy.
Astafieva visited Hefner’s villa for the second time in December 2008 on the eve of the announcement of the name of the winner of the anniversary issue of Playboy. At a party dedicated to this event, she shocked the American public by appearing in a transparent dress, and then taking off her panties and throwing them into the crowd.
Having signed a contract with Playboy in the summer of 2008, Astafieva pledged not to pose nude for any other publications for two years. The girl herself has repeatedly stated that she intends to connect her subsequent modeling career with Playboy.
In 2009, when the group Nikita got into the qualifying round for the Eurovision Song Contest, Dasha Astafieva simultaneously received an offer to star in the American multi-part television show “Girls Next Door” (translated from English as Girls Next Door).

In June 2010, Astafieva, together with Yulia Kavtaradze, appeared on the cover of the men's magazine XXL, thereby violating previously established agreements with Playboy. The decision to collect a fine from Astafieva, the amount of which was determined at $300 thousand, belonged to Hugh Hefner. After a personal meeting with the model in early June, the owner of Playboy decided not to impose sanctions.

Some professional American plastic surgeons argue that Astafieva's figure and shape are too ideal not to be the result of operations. Dr. Sherrell J Aston claimed that Daria's eyelids are "less heavy" than those of most Ukrainian women, which is most likely the result of blepharoplasty; the nose, in his opinion, “looks as if rhinoplasty has taken place. Plump cheeks suggest filler, while lack of facial wrinkles suggests Botox." Astafieva herself confirmed that after filming for Playboy in the USA, Americans “admired the skill of Ukrainian surgeons who were able to perform the operation in such a way that no traces were visible.” According to Daria, she and the twin girls (Christina and Carissa Shanon) were the only models on the set who had natural forms, without silicone implants. At the same time, she did not rule out that in the future she might get silicone breasts, like Hugh Hefner’s ex-wife Holly Madison.

In the Astafiev family, in addition to Daria, there is also a son, Evgeniy, who is seven years younger than his sister. After Daria’s stunning success, her parents were able to change jobs and now work as salespeople in a jewelry store. The model herself explained her new hobby by the availability of free time, which appeared after knee surgery.
