Treatment of infertility in women. Modern methods of infertility treatment and their prices Basic methods of infertility treatment

Among the methods of infertility treatment today, the most widely used are: operative endoscopy, ovulation induction and assisted reproductive technologies.

Laparoscopy (operative endoscopy)

A modern surgical method, the essence of which is an operation or examination of the abdominal cavity under the control of a high-tech video system, thanks to which the doctor can monitor the progress of his manipulations.

Operative endoscopy, if we talk about it as a method of treating infertility, is more diagnostic in nature and less therapeutic. So, laparoscopy has become one of the most reliable methods of examination, when infertility of unknown origin is suspected in a married couple. At the time of experimental studies, it proved its effectiveness and brought the diagnosis of this type of infertility to a new level.

Ovulation induction

Drug treatment, most often used for endocrine infertility in women, the result of which is anovulation, that is, the absence of the ovulation process. The purpose of this method of infertility treatment is to stimulate ovulation in the patient through the use of drugs.

Ovulation induction, as a rule, is carried out according to three infertility treatment regimens, the difference of which lies in the choice of drugs prescribed by a specialist individually for each applied family.

So, at the heart of one of the infertility treatment regimens is a drug called clostilbegit. It is a dual-action drug that, with an increased content of the female hormone estrogen in the blood, plays the role of an antiestrogen, and with a reduced one, it exhibits an estrogenic effect. Its main action is to stimulate the main reproductive hormones, such as follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), which is responsible for the formation and growth of follicles, as well as luteinizing hormone (LH), which initiates the process of ovulation and prepares the endometrium for embryo attachment. According to the accepted scheme for the treatment of infertility with clostilbegit in the first cycle, its dosage should not exceed 50 mg per day. In this case, the maximum dosage should not be more than 750 mg per cycle. It is also necessary to know that taking this medicine more than 5-6 times in a lifetime can stimulate ovarian exhaustion, and therefore lead to premature menopause.

The second group of drugs that is used in this method of treating infertility are gonadotropins, which, in turn, are divided into two types with different strengths. So, human menopausal gonadotropin has a more gentle effect, and recombinant, developed using genetic engineering, is a more powerful drug.

The third scheme for the treatment of infertility is the combination of drugs.

The final stage of ovulation induction is the injection of hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin), which is necessary for the maturation of the egg and the onset of the ovulation process.

However, the most effective modern methods of infertility treatment are assisted reproductive technologies such as artificial insemination, IVF, IVF with ICSI, IVF with preimplantation chromosome screening and IVF with donor cells.

artificial insemination

Method of infertility treatment, which was first tested over two hundred years ago. And among other modern methods of infertility treatment, it is the closest to natural conception. Undoubtedly, its current version is very different from the one that was practiced centuries ago, but the essence remains the same - artificial delivery of the partner's sperm into the woman's cervical canal or uterus, which significantly increases the chances of conception. This is explained by the fact that the spermatozoa do not have to "pass" all the way to the egg on their own.

Artificial insemination is used for a diagnosed male factor, when spermatozoa have low mobility or number, as well as for infertility of unknown origin. Recently, the introduction of the husband's sperm directly into the uterine cavity has been practiced.

The treatment regimen for infertility using artificial insemination is as follows:

  • obtaining sperm before the procedure, which should not exceed several hours, or its thawing if it was cryopreserved in advance, which in this case increases the time for its preparation;
  • sperm processing; during natural conception, the function of “cleaning” the sperm is performed by the cervical canal, where the sperm naturally gets rid of seminal fluid, cellular elements, and inactive spermatozoa. Raw ejaculate during artificial insemination, introduced into the uterine cavity, threatens a woman with infectious and inflammatory diseases, as well as anaphylactic shock;
  • the introduction of sperm itself is a painless and short procedure, which, as a rule, is carried out either once per cycle, directly on the days of ovulation, or a few days before it, but in this case it is repeated twice per cycle with an interval of two to three days.

Also, before insemination, in the case when the infertility of the spouses is combined, ovulation is stimulated. At the same time, artificial insemination as a method of treating infertility is not carried out with a diagnosis of “obstruction of the fallopian tubes”.

In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)

Assisted reproductive technology, which in its "classic version" consists of the following steps:

  • the preparatory stage, the essence of which is to conduct the necessary examinations of both partners;
  • the next step is the procedure of superstimulation of ovulation in a woman, the purpose of which is to obtain several eggs at once, which cannot be with ordinary ovulation, this is a prerequisite for IVF, as it increases the chance of obtaining a viable embryo;
  • collection of biological material (retrieval of eggs, as well as obtaining partner / donor sperm);
  • the in vitro fertilization procedure itself, that is, obtaining embryos "in vitro";
  • the final part: the transfer of the embryo into the uterine cavity, which occurs, on average, after 3-5 days.

After that, the reproductive specialist monitors the onset and further course of pregnancy in the patient.

The first step towards in vitro fertilization was made back in the 19th century, when a group of English scientists tried to fertilize a rabbit egg outside the body. After that, several decades were allotted for scattered experiments conducted by scientists from different countries, however, they could not achieve evidence that the embryos obtained by this method could lead to a successful pregnancy and offspring.

By the middle of the 20th century, experiments with female eggs began to be carried out. However, before the birth of the first child born by IVF, it was necessary to go a long way in twenty years. The birth of Louise Brown, the first “test-tube baby”, divided everything that was done in the field of reproductive medicine into “before” and “after”.

Today it is the most effective modern method of infertility treatment. The scheme of infertility treatment using the IVF procedure is the same for all clinics in the world, the only difference may be in the length of the protocol, which varies in each case and differs in the drugs used, the methods of manipulation and their timing.

ICSI

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection is a technique in which a spermatozoon is injected directly into the cytoplasm of the egg. Together with IVF, it is the most effective way to treat infertility with an unknown origin. ICSI technology is also used for reduced sperm quality and when a couple is found to be infertile at the cellular level.

In contrast to the “classic version” of IVF, during ICSI, the spermatozoon is injected into the egg “manually”, for which microtools are used, as well as micromanipulators, which transform the movements of the hands with the help of joysticks into the micromovement of the instruments.

IVF with preimplantation chromosome screening

The development of IVF as a modern method of infertility treatment was influenced by such sciences as embryology, surgery, pharmacology and, of course, genetics. Each of them has made an invaluable contribution to the fact that today infertility for most couples has ceased to be an incurable diagnosis. The genetic approach, which today is becoming a priority with such assisted reproductive technologies as IVF, is not only the present, but also a promising future for all reproductive medicine.

If we talk about indications for screening, then it is recommended for all families who have applied for IVF, since even ideal embryos, according to an embryologist, can be fraught with chromosomal abnormalities that lead to early termination of pregnancy or the appearance of a baby with disabilities.

IVF with donor cells

This method is widely used both abroad and in Russia. It is resorted to by women who, for a number of reasons, cannot conceive a child with their egg. For example, due to genetic problems or early ovarian failure, that is, premature menopause, as well as when a woman has already reached late childbearing age. For them, IVF with donor oocytes is the last chance for motherhood. Today, IVF is carried out with two groups of oocytes - fresh and vitrified. Using the latest developments in embryology, which have achieved ultra-fast freezing of eggs, oocytes can be stored indefinitely and be thawed at any time.

All modern methods of infertility treatment are successfully carried out in the NGC clinic.

12 IVF programs have been developed here. The main advantage of the clinic is considered to be a highly qualified team of specialists who will help you choose the treatment program you need, go through all the stages of the procedure with you and give you a chance to become parents.

Since ancient times, it has been believed that one of the most important and main missions of a woman on the planet is to give new life. Genetically, the fair sex from birth has a maternal instinct, which develops with age, takes root and waits for the time when the girl, with her soul, body and mind, will be ready to carry a baby under her heart and soon become a mother. And now this time has come when it has taken place as a person, there is a loved one, financial stability, tests are being done one after another, but it is not possible to get pregnant.

At the same time, couples, as a rule, go to clinics, take a series of tests, check sexual compatibility with each other, undergo examinations, and then, like snow on their heads, one of the partners hears that he is infertile. Such news is always shocking, baffling, and one wants not to believe what they hear.

Today we will talk about female infertility, since it is half as common in men. Such a diagnosis is usually made if, after a year or more of regular sexual activity without means of protection, pregnancy does not occur, as well as with physiological disorders in the structure of the female internal organs.

According to scientists, approximately 17% of families around the world have encountered a similar diagnosis, and this suggests that the question of the accuracy of medical reports has remained open for many decades. Therefore, do not rush to destroy your marriage, put an end to the dream of creating a full-fledged family and hear the long-awaited word - Mom.

  1. The most common reason is the non-maturing of the egg, that is, it does not develop and does not open, as a result of which even the most active spermatozoa cannot fertilize it.
  2. Blockage, or more simply, obstruction of the uterine tubes, most often this happens after any operations on the uterus, if the adhesions do not heal for a long time, frequent inflammatory and infectious lesions of the pelvic organs, as well as after an early, forced or conscious abortion. Thus, the entrance to the eggs is blocked, the spermatozoon reaches a certain place, and is unable to move further.
  3. Low mucus content inside the vagina and throughout the wall of the uterus, or mucus containing infectious inflammation. The fluid released during a woman’s strong arousal and sex itself, in the right and correct amount, is a conductor of sperm to the eggs, if it is small, then the seed does not reach the right place, but stops about half way.
  4. Excessively high acidic environment of the vagina. In this case, the mucus contains components that destroy, damage or completely destroy the sperm inside the woman.
  5. Violations and failures of the cycle of menstruation, as well as its complete absence for a long time.
  6. Tuberculous, oncological damage to the organs of the reproductive system.
  7. Weak immune system, a terrible lack of vitamins.
  8. Increased levels of testosterone (male hormone) in a woman's body.
  9. Psychological disorders: fear of sex due to rape, trauma, discomfort during the act, dissatisfaction.
  10. Violations of the endocrine system.
  11. Overweight, obesity of any type.
  12. Underdevelopment of the birth canal, when pregnancy itself can occur, but there is no gestation function, a miscarriage occurs in the first weeks.
  13. Age is a weighty fact for childbearing. Ideal is 18-25 for a woman and 21-33 for a man.
  14. Constant or frequent more prone to stress, lack of sleep, moral or physical fatigue.
  15. Long-term use of hormonal drugs. Often women prescribe them to themselves, and take them for a long time of 3-7 years without a break, as a result, enough follicles are not formed in the eggs so that they can be fertilized.
  16. Frequent change of sexual partners (the risk of infection with infectious and sexually transmitted diseases increases).
  17. Lack of estrogen (female hormone) in the body.

These factors are the most significant for the development of such a diagnosis as infertility. But in turn, the “disease” itself is divided into several types, which may entail additional causes and consequences.

Under each type, the magnitude and scale of pathologies are hidden, in comparison of which one can understand the true cause of the existing problem, as well as try to find ways to solve it.

A woman has a permanent partner, regular intimacy, not protected, but the conception of a child does not occur. Also before that, she could have had one or more partners with whom there was penetration without a condom with ejaculation inside, without subsequent pregnancy.
In this case, if you turn to a specialist, a gynecologist or a reproductologist at the right time, you can choose a technique that can help. These can be special medications that cause continuous ovulation, or recommendations from traditional medicine. In more than 80% of cases at this stage, the problem can be solved and eliminated.

With this form, the woman became pregnant and gave birth successfully, but subsequent attempts to get pregnant did not end in success. In this case, luck is 50/50, there may be a chance of conception, or it may be completely absent for a number of reasons.

These are a variety of menstrual disorders:
- prolonged, heavy menstruation for more than 7 days;
- too short, spotting discharge during menstruation lasting one to two days;
- complete absence of menstruation, and, accordingly, ovulation.

Infections, inflammations, tumors in the organ, cysts, fibromas, polyps, erosions are often factors preventing pregnancy. You can diagnose them with your doctor or with the help of ultrasonic diagnostics. In a case that does not bring the disease to a critical state, it can be cured and the desired can be achieved.

Wild reluctance, fear of being a mother, strained relationships and frequent conflicts with a sexual partner (negative impulses in the brain that can affect the work, maturation and development of eggs).

In the case when any of the previous types is excluded, and the cause of the problem cannot be found out. All indicators of analyzes and examinations are normal for both partners, as well as high compatibility, but pregnancy has never occurred. This species occurs in 3% of diagnoses.

Very often, when drug treatment fails, couples turn to alternative or traditional medicine, where there can be a variety of types and ways to help find a way out, including special massages in the woman's pelvic area. Previously, old healers and healers were engaged in this type of treatment, the technique was also relevant in the last century in the post-war period, but the issue remains in demand today. Therefore, let's talk more about folk methods of treatment.

carrot juice

It has been scientifically proven that carrot juice can increase the level of female hormones, therefore, if the cause is a small amount of estrogen, it is enough to drink 50 ml of fresh juice daily for 1-1.5 months.

The Greek Gods called Sage - a holy plant and attributed it to a number of phytohormones, and their role and function are similar to female hormones. It is able to increase libido, increase contractions of the walls of the uterus, this will help the sperm to get to the meeting point with the egg faster. To do this, you need to take an infusion from the seeds of the plant (0.5 tsp per glass of boiling water) 40 minutes before meals - a month. You can also sprinkle food with a dry plant, add to tea.

Not so long ago, doctors began to recommend that women with the problem we are talking about today drink the juice of a fresh sage plant. Namely, in this way: pour 250 ml of boiling water one teaspoon of juice and take 10 milliliters twice a day, for 11 days, starting the first dose immediately after the end of menstruation, so that, before ovulation, the body has time to get enough of the right amount of phytohormone.

The main thing in this technique is to strictly observe the dose, in case of an overdose, serious allergic manifestations, as well as intoxication, can occur.

Pour a tablespoon of psyllium seeds into a glass of boiling water and leave to boil for 10 minutes, then cover and leave for an hour and a half, strain. Divide the intake into 4 times a day, 30 ml each, starting from the first days of menstruation and without interruption until the next menstruation, you can repeat the course after 2 months.

Pour 90 grams of not completely dried plant seeds with 750 milliliters of fortified wine, preferably homemade and boil over very low heat for 45-40 minutes, filter, pour dark dishes and refrigerate. Use in a warm form, 45 milliliters immediately before bedtime, from three months to six months without a break.

essential oil of geranium

You can buy it at a pharmacy. In warm, boiled water in a volume of 100 ml, add three to four drops of oil and 5 ml of liquid honey, drink three times a day for 21 days.

Also, geranium serves as an aphrodisiac, enhances sexual desire and prevents the development of vaginitis and thrush.

No matter how ridiculous it may seem, but healers assure that the use of such a familiar product for us as honey daily helps to eliminate infertility. The recommended dose is 100-250 ml per day, based on the woman's body weight.

Upland uterus

Finely grind 50 grams of herbs, pour half a liter of vodka, leave for 14 days, in a warm place. After meals, 20 drops 4 times a day. Course 1-3 months.

It is used very widely in medicine, one of its honorable properties is the stimulation of follicle maturation for women and the acceleration of sperm activity for men. Therefore, if you apply tinctures to a couple together, the result will not be long in coming.

  • A healthy, full and proper lifestyle is the key to our health and the function of childbearing! It is necessary to eat a balanced diet so that the body receives a sufficient amount of vitamins and other substances, dress according to the weather in order to avoid hypothermia or vice versa overheating of the pelvic organs and legs.
  • Eliminate bad and harmful habits - drugs, alcohol, smoking. After all, they not only slow down the activity of sperm and eggs, but also reduce life expectancy.
  • Personal hygiene above all! Shower twice a day, underwear made from natural fabrics, special hygiene during menstruation, as well as down with panty liners, it has been proven that they cause various diseases and inflammations of the vagina and uterus.
  • At least once every six months, it is planned to visit a gynecologist.
  • Early sexual activity can also affect the ability to have children in the future. The safest age for sexual activity is 17-21 years.
  • Use a condom for a one-time act, as well as with an unfamiliar partner, unprotected sex can only be practiced with a person you trust!

It is very important in the presence of such a conclusion as infertility not to lose hope and believe in your dream. After all, everything that exists in the world was once a dream!

The treatment of female infertility is a complex and multi-stage process, consisting of a huge number of techniques that are selected individually for each individual couple. Infertility is a serious problem of modern mankind, forcing physicians from different countries to painstakingly develop new, more and more effective methods to achieve a positive result. What are the treatments for female infertility?

Is there a cure for infertility? The question, of course, is relevant, and the answer to it depends on a number of nuances. The desire to cure infertility in women is not always successfully implemented in practice. The success of a particular procedure largely depends on the causes of the pathology, and on a number of factors that are not always amenable to a logical explanation.

In the case of pathologies, we are talking about persistent irreversible changes in the genital organs. Most often this is characteristic of cicatricial changes in the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes. If we are talking about the relative moments of the impossibility of getting pregnant, then in this case there are hormonal disorders and various kinds of neurological diseases.

I would like to note that approximately 15% of families in our country are unable to conceive a child due to male infertility. In other cases, the pathology is formed through the fault of the female half. About 30% of such cases are closely related to persistent changes in the reproductive system and organs, which can only be “corrected” by resorting to surgical intervention.

However, the removal of scars does not always guarantee the return of the former function of the reproductive organs. Although the operation is a necessary measure, since with the help of it it is possible to prevent the exacerbation of the disease.

Gif» />Drug treatment is a panacea when it comes to endocrinological and immunological infertility. The form of release of drugs, as well as the way they are used, may be different. Some medicines are prescribed for internal use in the form of tablets or capsules.

Among the well-known: Duphaston, Utrozhestan, Logngidase, Proginova and other drugs, necessarily accompanied by instructions for use and strict indications. And some of them can be used topically - vaginal creams, tampons or suppositories.

Injectable forms of drug administration are not excluded. Again, everything depends solely on the individual characteristics of the organism and on the form of deviation, due to which infertility has developed.

The onset of ovulation, fertilization, fixation of the fetal egg on the wall of the uterus - all these processes are implemented due to sex hormones, each of which has its own specific task. And even minor changes in their production can lead to disruptions in the full-fledged work of the reproductive organs and the entire system as a whole.

Restoration of the hormonal background of a woman is possible with the help of pharmacological preparations. At the same time, one study is not enough to determine the essence of the problem: the body produces sex hormones in stages, starting from the first for the menstrual cycle.

For the treatment of female infertility, drugs containing one or more sex hormones are used. Again, medications are prescribed strictly on an individual basis, and what is a panacea for one may be just a dummy for another.

Hormone therapy is very effective if there are abnormalities in thyroid function.

In the case of inflammatory diseases of the genital organs or systems, doctors usually prescribe an anti-inflammatory course of treatment in order to create more favorable conditions for conceiving a child. As a rule, this kind of treatment is used when there is an infection on the cervix, in the appendages, etc.

Often, infertility is due to a critical deficiency of vitamins and minerals necessary for the formation of healthy eggs. Therefore, after a series of examinations and determining the fact of a shortage of certain useful substances, the doctor first of all prescribes the appropriate drugs.

Gif» />Herbal treatment is a highly effective method of combating infertility, and in comparison with drug therapy, phytotherapy is many times more effective. Homeopathy for infertility is not quite a traditional method of treatment, so it is usually prescribed as an additional remedy.

It is also worth adding that it is necessary to use herbs in order to increase the likelihood of natural fertilization with special care, strictly adhering to the dosage, since the slightest deviations from the norm can turn the result in the opposite direction.

So, with infertility, the following herbs can be prescribed:

  • boron uterus;
  • knotweed;
  • plantain seeds;
  • mummy;
  • red brush;
  • black cumin;
  • hijama;
  • wintergreen.

Decoctions are prepared from these herbs and taken orally.

In the treasury of folk medicine, you can find a lot of options for treating infertility in women - preparing decoctions, infusions, using conspiracies and prayers. But if the latter are much more abstract options, then the former often become a panacea in the fight against infertility.

In addition to decoctions and infusions prepared on the basis of all the same herbs and plants, one of the effective methods of treating infertility in women is hirudotherapy. Treatment with leeches, even if it does not give a quick result, can be compared with phytotherapy in terms of effectiveness. For this procedure, gynecological leeches are used, completely disinfected and prepared for such manipulations.

As for decoctions, they can be used not only inside, but also outside. So, for example, barley boiled to half-cooked in a warm form is used as a compress on the lower abdomen, in the area where the uterus is located.

Royal jelly is used in the process of making so-called fertility tampons. They are impregnated with gauze, rolled up in a tampon so that it is possible to remove it from the vagina. A mixture of sunflower oil and parsley can be used as an impregnation of a tampon.

Very often, wormwood is used to combat various kinds of female ailments. To prepare a decoction, a tablespoon of herbs is taken and brewed with 1.5 cups of boiling water. The mixture is boiled for 3 minutes and infused for 4 hours, after which it is filtered and taken ½ cup twice a day.

Knotweed is very effective in infertility. The infusion is prepared from herbs, 3-4 tablespoons, water in the amount of 500 ml. The broth is boiled, infused and filtered. It is used inside, a third of an hour before a meal.

This is what the treatment of infertility in women with folk remedies looks like.

The generally accepted principle of therapy is aimed at eliminating the root cause. So, conservative surgical treatment of pathologies of the uterus and tubes consists in a number of procedures aimed at combating infertility:

  1. Salpingolysis. It is used in case of adhesions in the fallopian tubes that prevent the release of the egg from the appendages.
  2. Salpingostomy. Promotes the restoration of patency in the area of the MT ampoule.
  3. Insertion of the fallopian tube into the uterus. A kind of "replacement" of the fallopian tube with a diagnosed obstruction.
  4. Omentoovariopexy. The operation carried out on the appendages. It enhances the processes of blood circulation in the ovaries, restoring the menstrual cycle and reproductive function.
  5. Transplantation of the ovary into the uterus. Indicated in the absence of fallopian tubes or their incapacity.
  6. Laparoscopy. It allows diagnosing the state of organs, establishing the presence of intrauterine synechia and, if necessary, removing adhesions in the tubes, and performing a number of other manipulations that improve reproductive function. The advantage of this method is that the operation does not leave obvious scars, and the rehabilitation after it is not long.

Note that operations to restore the patency of the oviducts, as well as other manipulations in the uterus, are not always an effective solution. They should be performed exclusively by the most qualified doctors, acting not only according to the medical protocol, but also based on many years of experience.

There are several methods to achieve the desired pregnancy:

  1. In vitro fertilization, IVF. Efficiency - 50%. The essence is the stimulation of ovarian superovulation, the collection of eggs, their fertilization in vitro, the cultivation and replanting of the fetal egg in the uterus.
  2. Artificial insemination, AI. Artificial introduction of specially prepared sperm into the uterus.
  3. Intracytoplasmic sperm injection, ICSI. It consists in the introduction of sperm into the cytoplasm of the oocyte. It is used if a man has severe degrees of infertility.
  4. Surrogacy. If natural fertilization is impossible and the possibility of bearing a child, the egg is planted in the uterus of another woman.

Gif " /> It is almost impossible to protect yourself from such a fate, however, you can minimize the risk of developing certain pathologies using the recommendations of specialists:

  1. We lead a healthy lifestyle. Plan your pregnancy and try to deal with existing infections before conception. Balance your diet and try to eat only healthy, properly cooked food.
  2. Rejection of bad habits. Alcohol, smoking and other bad habits only aggravate the course of pregnancy.
  3. Don't miss your gynecological appointments. Timely examination will help to establish or refute the fact of the presence of pathologies in time.
  4. Abortions further reduce the likelihood of natural fertilization and the full bearing of a child.
  5. Acupuncture. Many girls often resort to preventive acupuncture therapies, which stimulate the production of all the necessary trace elements to maintain the health of the expectant mother at the proper level.

Rest is the key to the health of planners. Walking in the fresh air + physical activity while walking is very beneficial for the body of a woman who is in an “interesting position”. And if you go to a boarding house or some resort, even if it is a sanatorium in Russia, where you can escape from the daily bustle, then your condition will become much more favorable for the development of the fetus.

At the end of this publication, I would like to say the following: is it possible to cope with infertility depends on a number of factors, ranging from the genetics of both partners and ending with the lifestyle of the expectant mother.

Infertility treatment involves a huge number of techniques and therapies: dietary supplements, homeopathy in the form of decoctions of sage, red brush and other herbs, leeches, drugs like Duphaston, folk remedies, such as tampons soaked in royal jelly, etc. Appointments depend on the causes of infertility. Each of these methods is individual, hirudotherapy is suitable for someone, while others manage to get pregnant only after reproductive manipulations or surgery.

Now you know the answer to the question of whether infertility can be cured. Have you or your friends faced similar problems? What are the reviews and did you manage to achieve the desired result, what methods were the most effective? Share in the comments!

Pathologies of the reproductive organs in women and men make it impossible to enjoy parental happiness. Deviations that negatively affect reproductive functions are diagnosed in many couples. A properly selected therapeutic regimen helps to cope with the problems of conception. If the exact causes of infertility are determined, the treatment is effective and certainly helps to restore reproductive functions. This article will talk about the features of the treatment of infertility in men and women, folk methods for the treatment of childlessness and preventive measures. Useful tips will tell couples how to overcome difficulties in the fight against infertility and become happy parents.

Each hospital treats infertility in women according to a standard scheme. Depending on the complexity of the situation, the patient is offered conservative therapy with the use of effective medications, surgery, hormone therapy, treatment of inflammation and chronic infections in the female genital organs.

Treatment of female infertility with drugs is used if the pathology is endocrine (hormonal) in nature. This therapy option is suitable for women who do not have adhesions in the fallopian tubes and scars on the uterus itself. The main goal of treatment for endocrine infertility is to remove hormonal disorders, to normalize the level of hormones. The therapeutic course for infertile patients includes preparations based on the following active ingredients.

  1. Urinary gonadotropins. A complex of hormones of the anterior pituitary region (including luteinizing and FSH) obtained from purified female urine (it is collected during the postmenopausal period). Medicines are used to stimulate the ovaries (including during the IVF procedure), as well as to increase the quality and number of eggs. Urinary gonadotropins act directly on the ovaries.
  2. Clomid (clomiphene citrate). Indirectly affects the production of special hormones by the pituitary gland that stimulate follicles. The drug is prescribed to women with ovarian pathologies (for example, polycystic). Clomid increases the number of simultaneously developing eggs and follicles.
  3. Recombinant gonadotropins. This type of infertility medication is a product of genetic engineering. The pharmacological properties of the drug are similar to urinary gonadotropins. The difference between them is that luteinizing hormones and FSH are used in their pure form, and do not contain any impurities. The advantage of recombinant gonadotropins is their high efficiency and biological activity. They have a direct effect on the ovaries, stimulate the growth of eggs and follicles and give a better effect than urinary gonadotropins.

If a woman is diagnosed with immunological infertility, it is treated for 2-3 months using:

The cause of female infertility may be an inflammatory process in the reproductive organs. Pathology is treated with antibiotics:

  • cefamandol;
  • metronidazole;
  • metrogil;
  • ofloxacin;
  • ciprofloxacin;
  • pefloxacin.

Surgical interventions on the female reproductive organs are performed using a minimally invasive (minimal incision and low level of trauma) method. Doctors use modern technologies that provide access to the organs of the small pelvis and abdominal cavity, carry out the necessary diagnostics with medical manipulations. In surgery, the following methods of treating female infertility are used.

  1. Hysteroscopy. A special device, a hysteroscope, helps to examine the inner walls of the uterus, and perform an operation (if necessary). The introduction of a hysteroscope into the uterine cavity occurs through the vagina and cervical canal. The hysteroscopy procedure reveals pathological endometrial tissues, which are then taken for histological analysis. With the help of a hysteroscope, surgeons remove pathological formations inside the uterus (endometrial polyps, adhesions (synechia)). Hysteroscopy is performed in a hospital. Patients quickly recover after it, and the next day they return to their usual lives.
  2. Laparoscopy. The operation of minor traumatism reveals and removes pathologies that provoke infertility. With the help of laparoscopy, adhesions in the ovaries and fallopian tubes are eliminated, fluid is removed from the sealed tubes, ovarian cysts and uterine fibroids are removed, endometriosis in the pelvic peritoneum and ovaries is treated. The laparoscopy procedure involves the creation by the surgeon of microscopic incisions in the abdominal wall in the navel. The work uses a laparoscope and other surgical instruments. Rehabilitation after surgery takes 3-5 days, and the achieved aesthetic effect is many times better than with abdominal operations.

Infertility in women is not always amenable to traditional, surgical and conservative methods of influence. Often, the reproductive functions of the patient are violated under the influence of psychological factors. Severe depression, constant conflicts in the family and at work, disappointments in life - all this leads to chronic stress and psychological infertility. Psychotherapy sessions help to cure the pathology. In medical practice, there are many examples of successful conception of a child after an infertile woman underwent a corrective course with a psychologist or psychotherapist.

Reproductologists also offer to cure childlessness with the help of additional technologies. Doctors recommend the following assisted reproductive technologies, which are characterized by a powerful positive effect in the fight against female infertility.

  1. IVF (in vitro fertilization). The most effective way to treat infertility, the essence of which is the fusion of the sperm with the egg outside the uterine cavity (in a specialized laboratory). The fertilized egg is implanted in the woman's uterus, and thus pregnancy occurs. The process of in vitro fertilization is time-consuming and complex, so only experienced fertility doctors can carry it out.
  2. Egg donation. If numerous attempts of a married couple to conceive a baby artificially are unsuccessful, oocyte (egg) donors come to their aid. Egg donation is recommended for those patients who do not have their own ovaries or the production of full-fledged germ cells is impaired.
  3. Intrauterine insemination. In case of infertility of unknown etiology or immune incompatibility of spouses, doctors recommend using the method of intrauterine insemination. The procedure involves the introduction of the ejaculate fluid of the husband into the uterus of the wife with a special catheter. Further, the process of conception occurs according to the classical scheme. The sperm travel through the fallopian tubes to the egg and fertilize it. If a woman has pathologies of the fallopian tubes, their patency is impaired - intrauterine insemination will not give the desired effect.
  4. Surrogacy. The bearing of the fetus is undertaken by a woman who has nothing to do with the married couple. A prepared embryo, formed as a result of the fusion of sperm with an egg, is planted in her uterine cavity. In fact, in vitro fertilization is carried out, but the development of the child takes place inside the womb of another woman. The method is often used by gay couples or single fathers.

The cost of treating childlessness in women depends on the drugs prescribed and the number of visits to the gynecologist (if a private clinic is chosen). The cost of a single consultation in gynecology varies from 1.5 to 5 thousand rubles. The total amount, of course, will be more, because the woman will have to go to the doctor more than once.

The cost of surgical procedures associated with the treatment of childlessness in women is relatively low. For example, laparoscopy will cost 19-55 thousand rubles, and for hysteroscopy you will have to pay from 7 to 13 thousand rubles. The final amount is calculated taking into account the type of operation and its volume.

The IVF procedure today has become much more affordable, and is 69-149 thousand rubles. Some private clinics have great deals and good discounts for this service, and the first consultation with a reproductive specialist is free.

Consultations of a psychotherapist in cases where infertility is of a psychological nature will cost 1.5-4.5 thousand rubles. The cost of a psychotherapeutic session reaches 3.5 thousand rubles, and for couples - about 5.7 thousand rubles.

The calculation of the price for oocyte donation is carried out individually in each case. The average cost in Moscow for such a service varies between 60-100 thousand rubles.

Intrauterine insemination costs about 30 thousand rubles. The low price of the procedure is due to the fact that expensive medicines are not used during its implementation.

Surrogacy is the most expensive option for solving the problem of infertility. Its price reaches 1.5-2 million rubles. This amount includes medical services provided to a surrogate mother, legal support for a surrogate pregnancy, organizational issues of pregnancy and childbirth.

To eliminate male infertility, doctors find out its causes and prescribe adequate treatment for the pathology. The selected complex of therapeutic methods depends on the diagnosis.

  1. If an inflammatory process has developed in the patient's genitourinary system, a complex of drugs is selected for therapeutic purposes. Perhaps the male body suffers from hormonal disorders, the quality of sperm has deteriorated, there are sexually transmitted diseases. In these cases, drug therapy is also recommended.
  2. On an individual basis, men suffering from sexually transmitted diseases are prescribed a course of antibiotics.
  3. If the cause of male infertility is hidden in hormonal disruptions, hormone replacement therapy helps to cope with the problem.
  4. Restorative treatment is recommended for males whose sperm is of poor quality. Doctors advise patients with such a problem to include multivitamin supplements in the diet, enrich the menu with products with vitamin D3, and take immunostimulants. Fish oil and sea fish help improve sperm quality.
  5. Sometimes the problem of male childlessness cannot be corrected. Then reproductive specialists use assistive technologies (for example, they carry out conception artificially in a laboratory, extracting sperm from the testicles with a special device, and then combining them with a female egg).
  6. Obstructive childlessness in men is treated only by surgery. Blockage of the vas deferens occurs due to cysts, hernias, tumors, scars, varicose veins on the spermatic cord (varicocele). It is impossible to cope with the problem with conservative methods, so medical specialists prefer surgical intervention. True, this method does not give the desired effect to people of advanced age. Surgical manipulations give the best results in the treatment of pathologies of the reproductive system in childhood and adolescence (for example, after infectious diseases).

Male infertility often develops against the background of testosterone deficiency (the main hormone in men). A routine blood test helps determine the level of this hormone. If the results of the study show that the level of testosterone is low, it is possible to increase its amount at home, without drugs and herbal formulations. Below are 10 tips to help men stabilize their hormones. Using them, a patient with infertility will quickly and easily get rid of the problem.

  1. Include zinc-fortified foods in your daily diet. Give preference to poultry meat, seafood, nuts, liver, eggs, milk, sunflower seeds. Zinc is the main component of the testosterone hormone. Under his control is the transformation of female sex hormones into male ones. The process of reverse transformation is excluded.
  2. The production of testosterone is not complete without vitamins A, B and E. If they are not enough in the male body, the amount of testosterone is significantly reduced. Vitamin C plays an equally important role. It lowers the amount of the hormone cortisol in the blood, which suppresses the production of testosterone, and also does not allow the latter to be converted into the female hormone estrogen.
  3. Eat exclusively healthy fats that will ensure the full production of sex hormones. "Good" fats are found in large quantities in fatty fish, nuts, seeds, avocados, olive and peanut oils.
  4. Give your body moderate exercise. If sports are too intense, testosterone levels will drop sharply, and cortisol, on the contrary, will increase.
  5. Lead an active fight against excess weight. The overgrown adipose tissue contains aromatase, endowed with the function of converting testosterone into estrogen. If you decide to lose weight, do not starve yourself. Often this leads to a slowdown in the production of testosterone.
  6. Get good sleep. Give your body a chance to recover. The production of sex hormones will be normal if a man allocates 6-8 hours a day for sleep.
  7. Try to be less nervous, do not expose yourself to stress. If the nervous system is in an unstable state, the body produces a large amount of the hormone cortisol. It, in turn, provokes the accumulation of excess fat in the abdomen and the appearance of female sex hormones in the blood.
  8. Avoid overheating the testicles. In order for them to function better, remove tight trousers and tight underwear from your wardrobe, refuse to take too hot baths, visit the bath less often.
  9. Nicotine greatly reduces the amount of testosterone. Therefore, smoking men who want to restore their reproductive functions, it is better to give up the bad habit, saying goodbye to cigarettes for good.
  10. Eliminate alcohol from your menu. Under the influence of alcoholic beverages, the production of sex hormones slows down or stops completely. Alcohol leads to the destruction of the main component of testosterone - zinc. In addition, its regular use has a bad effect on the functioning of the endocrine system.

To prevent the development of male infertility, follow these recommendations.

  1. Eliminate or minimize the impact of harmful physical and chemical substances on the body. Avoid frequent contact with paints, petroleum products and poisons. Do not expose your body to prolonged exposure to vibrations, noise, microwave radiation, high-frequency currents, ionizing radiation, high and low temperatures.
  2. Eat in a balanced way. The daily menu should contain fresh vegetables and fruits, celery, animal meat, unrefined vegetable oils, bee products (honey, royal jelly, flower pollen). Refuse vegetarianism, smoked and spicy dishes.
  3. Timely engage in surgical treatment of serious pathologies of the reproductive organs (inguinal hernia, testicular dropsy, varicocele, phimosis).
  4. Treat inflammatory pathologies of the reproductive organs (epididymitis, prostatitis) in time.
  5. Treat diseases associated with infertility (pathologies of the gastrointestinal tract, diseases of the endocrine system).
  6. Do not forget about the need for regular sexual activity (at least once every 3-5 days) with a regular partner.
  7. Take preventive measures and perform a therapeutic complex against sexually transmitted diseases.
  8. Completely give up bad habits (alcoholism, drug use, smoking).

Alternative methods of treating infertility give a good effect if the causes of the pathology are determined. Before starting the treatment process, a man should be examined in a hospital, take blood and sperm for analysis. Based on the results of 2 procedures, the doctor finds out the true causes of the patient's childlessness, determines the volume of seminal fluid, the number and mobility of sperm, the features of their movement, the shape of the tail and head, the degree of viscosity of the ejaculant.

When the causes of violations in the reproductive system are identified, infertility treatment with folk remedies begins. The choice of drugs is made taking into account all aspects of the problem. For example, if a man has low testosterone levels, he needs drugs that increase this hormone. To increase the activity of male germ cells, separate groups of drugs are used. In general, traditional medicine recipes involve the use of properly selected medicinal herbal preparations.

Alternative treatment of male infertility is carried out using drugs of natural origin from the following list.

  1. Surepka. A medicine prepared from colza will help with infertility of unknown etiology, stabilize spermatogenesis, and contribute to the rapid cure of prostatitis. A good effect in the fight against infertility is given by a powder prepared from colza seeds. It is poured with boiling water (500 ml) and left in a thermos for 2 hours. The finished product is drunk 20 minutes before meals, four times a day. An infusion from the plant activates the production of sperm, increases sexual desire, and accelerates the movement of spermatozoa. Also, colza seeds are mixed with seeds of carrots, coriander, onions, plantain, parsley. All ingredients are taken in the same amount, ground in a mortar, and then brewed with boiling water and infused in a thermos according to the above scheme.
  2. Boron uterus. If male infertility has developed against the background of inflammatory processes, a decoction of the boron uterus will help eliminate the problem. To prepare it, take 10 g of dried plant and a glass of boiling water. The ingredients are mixed in a deep container, the composition is closed with a lid and infused in a dark and dry place for 20 minutes. The prepared liquid is filtered before use. A decoction of the upland uterus is taken 3 times a day, 1 tbsp. one hour before meals. The course of treatment is 1 month. You can also prepare an effective tincture from a boron uterus. Vodka (0.5 l) must be mixed with dried grass (50 g), then the remedy should be infused for 2 weeks in a bottle. It is better to store the tincture in a cool, dark place. It is recommended to shake the container with the mixture daily. The finished infusion is filtered before use, stored away from sunlight. The course of treatment with alcohol tincture from the hog uterus reaches 3 weeks. The agent must be diluted with water (30 drops of the composition per 100 ml of liquid). The infusion is drunk 3 times a day 1 hour before the meal.
  3. Persimmon. Infertility in some men is due to a lack of the sex hormone testosterone. Persimmon will help increase its amount. It is crushed in a blender before use, then mixed with cream (200 ml), cinnamon (1/3 tsp) and dried, finely chopped Icelandic moss (1 tbsp). The finished composition is left in the refrigerator overnight, and eat it every morning for breakfast.
  4. Carnation. Alternative treatment of infertility in men with the help of cloves gives a powerful beneficial effect. Tincture from it increases the activity of germ cells. To prepare the product, you need 500 ml of vodka and 30 g of whole field cloves. The ingredients are mixed, and then the composition is infused for 14 days in a dark place. Ready tincture is consumed three times a day, 15 minutes before meals.
  5. Black cumin oil. The tool has a positive effect on the immune system and, in particular, on the thymus gland (it regulates immunity). Black cumin oil contains phytosterols - special substances responsible for the production of hormones. The tool restores the full functioning of the reproductive system in both men and women. Oriental healers have long used black cumin oil to restore erections and maintain male libido. Its regular use increases the activity of spermatozoa, increases their number and improves the body's ability to conceive. Women can also use the oil. The tool normalizes the cycle of menstruation, stabilizes the hormonal background, cures inflammation in the reproductive organs, and is suitable for preventing the appearance of oncological neoplasms. Daily dosage of oil: 2 times 1 tsp. mixed with honey. The course of treatment is 3-4 months, then a 2-month break and repeated treatment of a similar duration.

The following traditional medicines help to cope with infertility in women.

  1. Geranium oil. Essential oils of geranium have a beneficial effect on the female nervous system. With the help of this remedy, the fair sex will successfully cure inflammation, cope with painful menstruation, sexual disorders and inflammation in the organs of the reproductive system. Geranium oil (3-4 drops) mixed with a glass of warm water and baking soda (1 tsp) is used for douching in the treatment of bacterial vaginitis. Infertile women dilute geranium oil in warm water (100 ml), add honey (1 tsp) and drink three times a day before meals. Essential oils from geraniums are a wonderful fragrance for the living room and bedroom. In combination with olive or avocado oil, it becomes an excellent massage tool. Geranium oil has a relaxing effect on the body, increases libido, and increases overall tone.
  2. Wintergreen. Chronic inflammation in the female genital organs is treated by the wintergreen plant. Alcohol tinctures and decoctions of wintergreen are taken for colpitis, andexitis, obstruction of the fallopian tubes, uterine atony. Men suffering from inflammation of the prostate or urethritis can also take folk medicines based on wintergreen. To prepare the infusion, take 2 tbsp. dried plant, and pour boiling water over the product (300-400 ml). Let the composition brew, and then drink 100 ml 3 times a day, adding a little honey to the liquid. The full course of treatment is 6 months, you need to drink the infusion 60 minutes before eating. To prepare wintergreen tincture for alcohol, mix vodka and herb in a 5:1 ratio. Infuse the composition for 20 days in a dark place, well protected from direct sunlight. You need to take before meals, 3 times a day, 40 drops. Instead of a dried plant, you can take fresh grass (0.5 cups), grind it and mix with vodka (200 ml). Take daily, after 20 days of infusion, 35 drops.
  3. Soda. Douching with a solution of soda changes the pH of the vagina towards alkalization. Optimal conditions are created for the life and movement of sperm (ejaculate fluid particles), so the problem of female infertility is quickly eliminated. Prepare a soda solution for douching by mixing half a teaspoon of bicarbonate with water (0.5 l). If you want to get pregnant, douche 30 minutes before having sex with your partner. Remember that frequent douching with soda violates the microbiological environment of the vagina. Do the procedure no more than 2-3 times in 30 days.
  4. Mary's root. You can cope with female infertility and pathologies of the genital organs (uterine erosions, cysts) with the help of remedies based on the marina root. It is harvested in May, washed well, dried and lightly scraped off the upper part. Maryin root is taken in an amount of 50 g, crushed and poured with vodka (0.5 l). The remedy is insisted in the cold for 2 weeks, then consumed 3 times a day, 1 tbsp. The therapeutic course is 30 days, then you need to take a 10-day break. Then the treatment is resumed. The scheme is applied until complete cure of infertility.

There are many good clinics in Russia that treat infertility and restore the reproductive functions of the body in men and women. They offer quality service and services of highly qualified specialists. It is quite difficult to make a worthy choice in a wide variety of medical institutions. We suggest paying attention to the following clinics.

  1. Private IVF Center "Embryon" (Moscow).
  2. Scientific Center of Obstetrics and Gynecology Academician V.I. Kulakova (Moscow).
  3. Private center "Mother and Child" (Moscow).
  4. City Center for the Treatment of Infertility, Mariinsky Hospital (St. Petersburg).
  5. Center for Reproductive Health "SM-Clinic" (Moscow).
  6. IVF Center (Volgograd).

The diagnosis of "infertility" in the lives of many people sounds like a sentence. This problem can radically change a person's life, disrupt the psycho-emotional state and affect relationships within the family. But is it really so hopeless? From our article you will learn about different approaches to the treatment of infertility.

Doctors begin to talk about infertility if a woman cannot become pregnant within a year, subject to regular sexual activity without contraception. In the minds of society, infertility remains a problem primarily for women. In practice, the diagnosis is no less often heard in relation to men. Those who already have children are not immune from the problem. Indeed, in addition to primary infertility - when pregnancy has never occurred - secondary infertility is isolated. This means that the woman has already been pregnant, but attempts to repeat this experience fail.

According to the State Statistics Committee, if in 2005 the diagnosis of "infertility" was made to 147 women out of 100,000, then in 2016 this ratio was already 248 out of 100,000. At the same time, experts from the World Health Organization believe that the burden of social responsibility falls on women in this matter unfairly, since in 50% of cases worldwide, pregnancy does not occur due to male infertility.

The reasons that caused an unpleasant diagnosis, medicine has about two dozen. Only in four cases infertility is called absolute. This is the absence of the uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, or sperm. Other varieties are relative. With proper treatment, infertility can be overcome.

Among the most common types of it in women:

  • tubal peritoneal infertility- the diagnosis is due to functional disorders in the fallopian tubes or the occurrence of adhesions in the small pelvis. Both processes are often paired with each other, hence the combined name. For treatment, doctors use various means, including both conservative treatment and surgery. In most cases, treatment of tubal or peritoneal infertility is effective;
  • endocrine infertility- often diagnosed in women who have abnormalities in the menstrual cycle. This kind of problem is faced by women whose metabolism is disturbed, the production of male hormones is increased, and women, on the contrary, is reduced. This type of infertility is cured in various ways, mainly by medication;
  • uterine infertility- it is caused by malformations of uterine development, infections and inflammations, tumors and benign formations (cysts). Problems with conception with sexual infections or cervical erosion are not excluded;
  • immunological infertility- a rare type of infertility, which accounts for no more than 2% of cases. It occurs when a woman's body, in response to the male sex cells that have entered it, begins to actively produce antibodies. They damage spermatozoa or even kill them;
  • psychological infertility- such a diagnosis is made to women who are completely healthy in terms of gynecology, but nevertheless cannot become pregnant. The scientific nature of this phenomenon is hidden behind seven seals, but psychologists say that the inner mood of the expectant mother is no less important than good health. Stress at work, conflicts in the family, an excessive desire to get pregnant or, conversely, uncertainty lead to disruptions in the body, which at first glance can be classified as hormonal. In fact, this is a psychological problem.

No less diverse are the types of male infertility, on the correct diagnosis of which the treatment program depends.

  • Secretory infertility- the most common form. The quality and quantity of spermatozoa decreases, mobility decreases. The reason usually lies in diseases of the testicles. For example, testicular varicose veins, dropsy or cryptorchidism - undescended scrotum. Diseases such as tuberculosis, typhoid, syphilis act depressingly on the function of the testicles. This group also includes external factors: lack of sleep, stress, poor food, unfavorable environment, smoking, alcohol abuse. The main way to treat this type of infertility in men is to eliminate the cause of the negative impact. Hormone therapy is also possible.
  • obstructive infertility- occurs when the vas deferens lose their ability to pass sperm. The causes are different: cysts, tumors, postoperative scars, injuries of the inguinal region, etc. In case of obstructive infertility, as a rule, surgical intervention is required to restore reproductive functions.
  • Immunological. Akin to the same problem in women. Antibodies can be produced both in cervical mucus or intrauterine contents, and in ejaculate and blood serum. Therefore, programs for the treatment of infertility of this type have been created for both women and men.
  • Relative infertility- it is similar to psychological, when a couple has no physiological problems, but pregnancy does not occur. As a rule, this is the result of stress, which a competent psychotherapist can cure.
  • Sperm pathology- from insufficient to complete absence. Another form of pathology - asthenozoospermia - too weak movement of spermatozoa, insufficient for fertilization. There is another concept of "teratozoospermia", when most of the spermatozoa are damaged, have defects in the tail, head or neck. There are many treatment options - it all depends on the individual case.

Any diagnosis is preceded by an examination. The doctor will offer to take blood tests, urine tests and the necessary smears, undergo an ultrasound examination, determine the presence or absence of infections. The list may be extensive, but this is the only way to get an objective clinical picture.

Infertility is curable, both classical and alternative (traditional) medicine have now come to this conclusion. A district polyclinic or a private medical center, as a rule, becomes the first instance where a woman seeks help in the treatment of infertility. When the diagnosis is clear, the attending physician opens up to the patient the full range of means, giving predictions, warning against errors and warning of the consequences. The practice of treating female infertility in Russia is extensive. Several main approaches can be distinguished.

  • Psychotherapy. Her main goal is to make the patient think positively, rid her of unpleasant memories and a pessimistic attitude. The specialist teaches a woman to take control of her mental state, not to give in to emotions, to “forget” about problems with pregnancy and devote herself to ordinary life: family, work, friends, small joys.
  • Medical treatment. Depending on the source of the problem, the doctor may prescribe medications for the woman - hormonal, immunological, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antibacterial, etc. Among the latter are broad-spectrum antibiotics. You can get them both in tablets and by injection. But here it should be remembered that chemicals are organotoxic and have side effects. Antibiotics are able to bypass the focus of inflammation, accumulating in adipose tissue. This often causes an insufficient effect of treatment, does not exclude relapses and complications of the disease.
  • hormone therapy. The maturation of the egg is stimulated artificially with the help of hormonal preparations. The method is practiced among patients with endocrine infertility. Careful medical supervision is essential here. The progress of the maturation of the follicle is monitored using ultrasound and blood tests for hormones.
  • Laparoscopy. The technique of minimally invasive surgery, effective for endometriosis, polycystic ovaries, impaired patency of the fallopian tubes, uterine myoma. The operation is performed through punctures in the pelvic area with a special device - a laparoscope.

Minimally invasive surgery is at the peak of popularity. The operation is bloodless, does not cause severe pain, does not leave stitches. Only three punctures up to 5 mm each are made on the abdomen. From the first day the patient is able to get out of bed, on the third or sixth day she is discharged from the hospital, and ten days after the operation she is allowed to return to work.

  • ECO. In vitro fertilization is prescribed for tubal obstruction or infertility of unknown origin - if ovarian stimulation does not bring results. The egg is removed from the female body and fertilized artificially. For several days, the embryos develop in an incubator, after which they are transferred to the uterus. Patients under 40 are implanted with two embryos, after 40 - three or more.
  • Intrauterine insemination. Like IVF, it is prescribed when the nature of infertility is not clear. Let's say he is with mild endometriosis, as well as problems with ejaculation in a man. Sperm is injected into the uterus by injection during ovulation. In parallel, the doctor may prescribe hormonal stimulation.
  • Alternative means. These include herbal medicine, acupuncture, Ayurvedic therapy - in general, everything that is united by the concept of oriental medicine. It should be borne in mind that any such measures can be taken only on the prescription of a qualified doctor in a licensed medical institution.

Whatever course of treatment a woman is prescribed, one should not lose sight of the other side of the problem - men's health.

Similar to the problems that women struggle with, extensive fertility treatment programs have been developed for men.

  • Psychotherapy. Here, it is not a reproductologist who fights with male infertility, but a psychotherapist. Psychotherapy sessions are prescribed in situations where conception is hindered by a complex psycho-emotional state in which a man is: stress, nervous breakdowns, psychological indisposition to fatherhood. The doctor brings the patient's psychological state back to normal, helps to relax, look at life with optimism and faith in the future.
  • Medical treatment. Medicines are prescribed if the examination shows infectious or inflammatory processes in the body. Infections are cured with antibiotics, hormonal disruptions - with hormones. The drug course is completed by therapy that normalizes spermatogenic function. This, as a rule, is taking vitamins, eating healthy, and giving up bad habits. In general, the process is lengthy, can stretch for months.
  • Hormone treatment. The treatment regimen depends on the pathology that provoked the violation. An andrologist conducts an examination and selects drugs. With adequate treatment, testosterone production usually returns to normal. Spermatogenesis returns to the required level. With the help of hormonal drugs, male hypogonadism is cured - a pathology when the pituitary gland stops producing the hormone gonadotropin.
  • Surgical intervention. Required for obstruction of the ducts (inguinal hernia, varicocele, congenital anomalies, inflammation of the epididymis). When the ducts stick together, sperm cannot reach the seminal vesicles. The task of the doctor is to excise the problem area or create a new path for the movement of spermatozoa.
  • Alternative medicine. In the arsenal of oriental medicine there are enough funds to combat male infertility.

Let's take a closer look at the Tibetan practices of infertility treatment, aimed at improving the body as a whole.

The Beijing Declaration of 2008, adopted by the WHO Congress on Traditional Medicine, states: “Traditional medicine knowledge, treatments and practices must be respected, preserved, promoted, widely disseminated and appropriately based on the circumstances of each country.” Acupuncture, herbal medicine, physical impact on acupuncture points are included in the official nomenclature of medical services of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.

In Tibetan medicine, doctors are not divided into specialties, because the body is immediately considered as a single system. Tibetan doctors say that it is pointless to eliminate diseases separately. It is required to restore the overall balance of the body, thereby eliminating the cause of diseases hidden in the depths.

Tibet does not deny modern classical medicine, emphasizing that over the past hundred years it has achieved tremendous success. However, this is a product of technical civilization. Comprehending the technical possibilities, doctors and scientists leave behind chemical processes, many of which have not yet been studied, are not built into a single system. Therefore, the phrase “the exact causes have not been established, the effect has not been proven, the mechanism has not been studied” often sounds. If, in classical medical practice, conservative treatment does not work, the doctor proceeds to surgical intervention. Tibetan doctors recommend surgery only in extreme cases.

Tibetan medicine is based on external (acupuncture, hirudotherapy, etc.) and internal influences. Internal exposure is phytotherapy, the use of preparations of plant and mineral origin). Each contains up to 100 components. They should be prescribed by a doctor who is dedicated to the intricacies of this pharmacy. Preparations are prepared for the most part individually for each patient. A classical specialist usually does not possess such knowledge. This is one of the reasons why drugs are not sold in pharmacies and distributed through retail chains. Treatment does not proceed quickly, as well as the disease does not appear immediately.

Tibetan medicine fights primary and secondary infertility in women and men, the treatment performed restores the energy and physical health of not a single organ, but the body as a whole. The reproductive function is brought back to normal, returning the ability to conceive.

Among the main therapeutic measures:

  • selection of nutrition in accordance with the characteristics of the body and constitution;
  • herbal medicine - to remove toxins and toxins;
  • acupressure - to direct energy to a diseased organ;
  • acupuncture - to improve blood circulation;
  • moxibustion - to restore hormonal balance and relieve muscle spasms.

As a result of exposure in women, the hormonal background is normalized, tumor formations dissolve, blood circulation improves. In men, the patency of the seminal ducts is restored, the production of spermatozoa increases, and their quality improves. This, according to adherents of Tibetan medicine, is the modern treatment of infertility - when the patient is restored to health without synthesized chemical compounds and operations.

There are no universal recipes in the fight against infertility. Each case is individual - a competent specialist should select the treatment. Diagnosis and treatment of infertility are slow processes. They can take up to a year. The same approaches in different patients are likely to show different results - after all, a lot of factors affect the recovery process, including age, general health, lifestyle, and even the patient's mood for success.

Modern medicine allows you to cope with the problem of infertility, but much depends on the clinic and the specific specialist. Therefore, the choice of a medical institution must be approached responsibly. The question of which clinic is trustworthy is answered by Kim Nodarovich Kechiyan, chief physician of the medical center for the treatment of infertility "Embryo", laureate of the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation, candidate of medical sciences:

“There is one unshakable condition - any institution providing medical services must have a license. After making sure that everything is in order with the documents, you can begin to get acquainted with the clinic.

Given that the causes of infertility are diverse, and the success of treatment directly depends on a competent diagnosis, this problem should be dealt with by an experienced doctor. So it is worth discarding the constraint and learn as much as possible about the specialist, his qualifications, work experience.

The next thing to ask when choosing a clinic for the treatment of infertility is its equipment. Modern high-tech equipment is necessary for both diagnosis and therapy. Insufficient equipment significantly reduces the range of services.

In my opinion, these are the main selection criteria. Of course, the reputation of the medical institution and its history play an important role. For example, our Embryo Medical Center has been operating for more than a quarter of a century. I will say with some pride: during this time, more than 7,500 healthy children were born in the center, which is comparable to the population of a small town. This is undoubtedly the merit of a team of specialists. Some of our doctors have been helping families deal with infertility for over 30 years.

To solve problems with conception, the Embryo Center provides a wide range of medical services. Among them are functional examination, ultrasound examination of the pelvic organs (complex), assisted hatching of the embryo, in vitro fertilization of oocytes, intrauterine injection of the husband's (partner's) or donor's sperm, cultivation and intrauterine administration of the embryo, cryopreservation of embryos and gametes (oocytes, spermatozoa).

Embryon Medical Center is open daily, including weekends and holidays. We understand how much anxiety the diagnosis of infertility causes and, if necessary, we are ready to advise our patients around the clock.”

The infertility treatment program always focuses on a specific form of the disease. The classification of infertility may be related to the etiology of the disease and the patient's individual history.

Basic forms:

  • Primary infertility that occurs before the implementation of the reproductive function. Such a diagnosis is made if the patient has not yet had children.
  • Secondary infertility. Such a diagnosis is made if there have been previous pregnancies or children. The secondary form of impaired fertility often occurs due to poor lifestyle and chronic diseases.

Etiological forms:

  • Immune infertility is a violation of the functions of the body's defense systems, characterized by the release of immunoglobulins against spermatozoa. This may be a male autoimmune pathology associated with an attack on one's own cells, or a female infertility factor;
  • Secretory disorder, manifested by the production of immature or morphologically altered germ cells. Most often this is secondary infertility;
  • Endocrine disruption of fertility associated with a change in the concentration of hormones in the body;
  • excretory pathology. Blockage of the fallopian tubes in women and the vas deferens in men often leads to impaired fertility;
  • Mixed infertility associated with various factors, such as alcohol consumption, malnutrition and chronic infections.

Also, infertility of unknown origin can be added to the classification, since doctors are not always able to find the root cause of the disorder.

According to statistics, about every fifth couple is faced with the problem of infertility. The absence of pregnancy in 50–55% of cases is caused by a violation of the reproductive function of a woman. The World Health Organization identifies 22 causes of its occurrence. The treatment tactics is chosen after analyzing the diagnostic results: restoration of the patient's reproductive function by medical or surgical methods or by using assisted reproductive technologies, if natural conception is excluded.

This article will discuss modern methods of treating infertility in women.

How to treat female infertility

Treatment of the endocrine form in women is to correct hormonal disorders and stimulate the ovaries. The process of maturation of the follicle and the development of the endometrium against the background of drug therapy is controlled using folliculometry (ultrasound monitoring), as well as by laboratory blood tests. In 70-80% of cases, hormone therapy ends in pregnancy. Against the background of obesity, non-drug measures are shown - normalization of body weight with the help of diet therapy, physical education and physiotherapy.

Method of treatment of tubal-peritoneal form female infertility is to restore the patency of the fallopian tubes by laparoscopy. The efficiency of this method is 30–40%. Against the background of a progressive adhesive process, as well as in the absence of the effectiveness of previous operations, artificial insemination is indicated.

Treatment of the uterine form of infertility consists in the elimination of existing anatomical defects by surgical reconstructive plastics. With pronounced malformations of the uterus or in its absence, when the patient's independent bearing of the child is excluded, surrogate motherhood is recommended.

Treatment of female infertility caused by endometriosis, consists in the removal of pathological foci by laparoscopic endocoagulation. The result is fixed by a course of drug therapy. The effectiveness of the technique is 30–40%.

Treatment of the immunological form It consists in artificial insemination by the method of insemination with the partner's sperm. The technique allows to overcome the immune barrier of the cervical canal and in 40% of cases contributes to the onset of pregnancy.

In the treatment of idiopathic (unexplained) infertility mainly assisted reproductive technologies are used:

  • intrauterine insemination (IISM and IISD);
  • in vitro fertilization (IVF);
  • intracellular insemination (ICSI);
  • surrogacy.

The listed methods of treatment of female infertility are also used:

  • with complete tubal obstruction;
  • absence of fallopian tubes;
  • negative result of conservative therapy of endometriosis;
  • unsuccessful treatment of the endocrine form;
  • depletion of the ovaries;
  • concomitant pathologies incompatible with pregnancy;
  • in some cases of uterine form of infertility.

  • restoration of a normal menstrual cycle;
  • stimulation of ovulation;
  • elimination of cysts, inflammatory diseases, consequences of abortions and sexually transmitted diseases;
  • elimination of antisperm antibodies of cervical mucus;
  • normalization of blood supply to the pelvic organs;
  • restoration of the functions of the adrenal glands, pancreas and thyroid gland;
  • normalization of the nervous system and psycho-emotional state;
  • stimulation of local and general immunity;
  • treatment of comorbidities.

Technologies for restoring reproductive functions are rapidly developing, which makes it possible to achieve fertilization of eggs in especially difficult cases. With the right method of infertility treatment, after the end of the course of therapy, natural conception occurs in about 60% of women.

Becoming a mother is the priority goal of every woman. However, not all of the fair sex can get pregnant for various reasons. At the same time, pathologies of the female reproductive system come to the fore. However, do not despair and let go of the dream of a happy motherhood. At this point in time, there are many methods of treatment, each of which is effective in its own way.

Infertility is perhaps one of the worst diagnoses that a doctor can endure. Suspicion of him arises after several unsuccessful attempts at conception, which were made during the year.

Infertility can be absolute and relative. With absolute infertility, a woman will not be able to conceive a child, since there are deviations in the body, for example, the uterine appendages were cut out, or the uterus itself.

You can get rid of relative infertility, but you need to deal with it. They also distinguish between primary infertility (a woman has never been pregnant in her life) and secondary infertility (in this case, a second attempt at conception fails).

If we analyze the statistics, then in the Russian Federation about 10-15% of all families remain childless. Moreover, in 40% of cases the problem lies in the man, and in 60% of cases women are infertile. Sometimes both spouses have health problems, so the examination of only one partner is not appropriate. After the cause that prevents the normal conception of the fetus is determined, therapy can begin.

Cause

How to treat?

tubal infertility

  • The presence of adhesions in the pelvic organs, which arose after operations on the internal organs, or as a result of endometriosis.
  • The absence of fallopian tubes, which could be removed during the development of an ectopic pregnancy, or due to inflammatory processes.
  • Absolute tubal infertility.

It is most often not possible to get rid of such infertility with the help of taking medications. Requires laparoscopic surgery, including:

  • Salpingoplasty (dissection of formed adhesions in the area of the uterine appendages), in which an attempt is made to restore the patency of the tubes and establish their functioning.
  • Salpingostomy, which involves creating a hole in the tubes to restore their patency.

IVF is performed when laparoscopic techniques have not given the desired effect. If a woman's uterine appendages are removed, then she can become pregnant only with the use of IVF.

Endocrine disorders causing infertility

The following disorders can lead to pathological anovulation (the egg does not fully mature and cannot leave the follicle):

  • Polycystic ovary syndrome.
  • Diseases of the endocrine glands due to various hormonal disruptions.
  • Depletion of ovarian reserves.

Treatment involves the elimination of pathologies of the endocrine glands with the help of drug correction. This will allow the follicles to mature normally and stimulate ovulation.
If a woman has polycystic ovary syndrome, surgery may be required.

Immunological infertility

In the blood of a woman or in the composition of the cervical mucus, antibodies may be present that destroy spermatozoa, either the embryo or the fetus.

Treatment is conservative, it is possible to perform plasmapheresis, artificial insemination or IVF.

Infertility of psychological origin

Depression, anxiety, depression can reduce the likelihood of conception.

For treatment, psychological techniques, relaxation techniques are used, lifestyle correction is often indicated.

Infertility of unknown cause

In this case, it is impossible to determine the reason that prevents the conception of a child.

A woman should continue to try to conceive a child naturally. It is possible to use IVF, AI or sperm injections.

If infertility is provoked by hormonal disorders, and there are no other pathologies, then medical correction is necessary.

Drugs that can be used for this purpose:

    Clomid based on clomiphene citrate. This drug stimulates ovulation by causing the pituitary gland to produce follicle-stimulating hormones. Indications for use: ovarian dysfunction, polycystic ovary syndrome, etc.

    HMG (urinary gonadotropins). These are combined hormonal drugs that are isolated from female urine during menopause. These hormones include LH and FSH. HMG is used in IVF to improve the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of eggs. Hormones are directed specifically to the work of the ovaries.

    Recombinant gonadotropins, which are created thanks to the achievements of genetic engineering. They work in the same way as HMG, but they contain only purified FSH or LH. These are effective and safe drugs that act only on the ovaries, stimulating the growth and development of follicles and eggs. They are more effective than urinary gonadotropins.

All inflammatory processes in a woman's body are eliminated with the help of antibacterial drugs, including: Metronidazole, Cefamandol, Metrogil, Ciprofloxacin, Pefloxacin, etc.

If a woman has immunological infertility, then she is shown a course of corticosteroid drugs, antihistamines are prescribed in parallel. Treatment should continue for at least 8 weeks.
