Consider the beach resorts of Italy for families with children, options for more budget places and directions where to go for an excursion, where to fly for young people, we will note the best beaches, prices for tours, as well as weather conditions that tourists should expect in the summer.

There are a lot of beach resorts in Italy, as this is the only peninsula in the world that is washed on all sides by five seas. In addition, the number of beaches marked with a blue flag for cleanliness in this country is increasing every year.

The cost of tours to Italian resorts varies greatly, but basically a high level of service implies good prices for the quality of services. Therefore, if budget resorts can cost an average of 23-25 thousand rubles per person (Rimini), then a good quality and not very crowded resort will cost no less than 80 thousand rubles (O. Sicily).

The country has a temperate climate, warm sunshine, lush greenery and a long beach season. In many beach resorts in Italy, you can soak up the coast from early May to late October.

And also, when planning a trip to Italy or with the help of buying a tour, a tourist should know a few rules that are important to follow in order not to be punished by law. For example, the fact that you can’t be on the municipal beach at night from one to five in the morning. Therefore, it will not be possible to spend the night on the seashore in one of the most romantic places on the planet, otherwise you will have to pay about 150 euros to law enforcement officers for violation.
Special slippers for the beach will not interfere either, they protect both from pebbles and from hot sand under your feet.

“The taste and color” preferences in a beach holiday are different, but nevertheless, among all the available beaches in Italy, there are several best ones:

If the question is which resorts to choose for a holiday by the sea near Rome and Venice, then here you should pay attention to Anzio, which is located 40 km from Rome. Where to go to Italy at sea with children?

Very often the whole family goes on vacation, and here it is important to take into account that the depth and purity of the sea are important for young children. Despite the fact that the most popular resort for Russian tourists Rimini very suitable for families with children along the seashore and a gentle entrance to the sea, as well as the presence of all kinds of theme parks and entertainment, nannies on the beach and swings with slides, yet the city is not suitable for a relaxing holiday.

It's all about the large crowds of young people during the season, and the temperature of the water: at the beginning or at the end of the season, when the influx of people is not very large, the sea is not yet completely warmed up. Therefore, it is worth paying attention to calmer and less crowded resorts with a good beach. However, Rimini is still included in the cheap resorts of Italy for families with children, which include Lido di Jesolo. Here for children there is an Aquapark, an amusement park, comfortable beaches.

One of the best places for children is the island, where hotels offer a separate children's menu, clean sandy beaches, mild climate and calm sea. The pools have clean sea water. More options for families Sorrento, where European pensioners often rest. Here the rest will be calm and measured. As well as Salerno where for your child in each hotel a safe rest will be provided or you can order a nanny if necessary.

More soft sands and a comfortable beach will offer its guests Tuscan Riviera. However, keep in mind that good conditions will cost a little more.

Excursion rest

Italy is a country with a long history, so thousands of people come here to get closer to the monuments of a great culture. The uniqueness of the country lies in the fact that due to its location in the summer it is possible not only to visit cultural monuments, but also to soak up the warm coast of the Mediterranean, or vice versa: not only to sunbathe, but also to touch the beauty (visit museums, excursions, castles, etc.) .

For example, when arriving in Rome, Venice or, guests of the country have a great opportunity to visit the nearest beaches, which are located nearby. Or, thanks to a good transport interchange, from almost any beach resort you can go on excursions to historical monuments.

And for those who want to diversify their vacation, a historic resort town, such as Amalfi (Salerno), for example, is suitable, where you can enjoy Byzantine mosaics, ancient architecture, the Church of St. Andrew the First-Called and a beach holiday without leaving the city.

And if you still book excursions around the country, then it is better to do this at local bureaus, since their cost is basically fixed, and travel agencies can increase the price with their own interest.

Inexpensive Italian resorts for relaxing by the sea

Italy, in principle, is not a cheap country. Therefore, when coming to the Italian coasts, one should not expect to have a budget vacation, as, for example, in Turkey, Bulgaria or Montenegro. However, you can still select relatively inexpensive places. But it should be borne in mind that a low price entails a low level of service and a large number of tourists. Inexpensive resorts in Italy on the Adriatic coast are Rimini and Lido di Jesolo.

There are enough inexpensive hotels in Rimini, so many young people come here. During the season it is crowded and it is difficult to find a free place even on a paid beach. However, it is worth considering the unspoken rule of Italian beaches, according to which, taking a place five meters from the coast, a tourist has the right not to pay anything. This resort is suitable for outdoor activities. The infrastructure is well developed here: Amusement parks, water park, cafes, shops, and transport interchange.

Since the highway passes through the city, it is easy to get to anywhere in the country to explore the sights. On average, tours to Rimini in economy hotels start from 54 thousand rubles with breakfast for two. However, for this price it is not always worth counting on 3 stars, as stated. Hotels most often pull on 1 or 2.

Lido di Jesolo- more calm and measured resort. The coastline of 15 km is represented by golden sands. For excursions, you can go to Venice, which is 35 km away, or Verona. Here the cost will be slightly higher than in Rimini, but this is a price for peace, a good beach and comfortable European service.

The most inexpensive tour will cost 87 thousand for two at the hotel (breakfast + dinner).

All these towns have become a place for a respectable holiday. In the south of the Tuscan coast, the bays are deserted, beautiful Mediterranean nature reigns here, so it’s nice to admire the scenery and enjoy a relaxing holiday with family or company. In the south of Tuscany, you can choose such resort towns as Livorno, Pisa, Grosseto for a family vacation, especially since holidays here are cheaper than to the north of here.

3. The beaches of Sardinia

The island of Sardinia deserves to spend at least once a holiday here by the sea. On its coast with a length of 1850 km there is a fourth of all Italian beaches. The Italians themselves consider the Sardinian beaches to be the best, among which the Costa Smeralda, Capriccioli, Spiaggia del Principe and the “rice beaches” are especially worth noting. The latter are generally unique - here the sea polished white quartz crystals so that they began to resemble small beads or rice grains. Walking on them is difficult, but it is nice to sunbathe.

4. The beaches of Sicily

The largest Italian island has become famous not only for the mafia, but also as a resort area with very colorful nature. Sicilian beaches are washed by the waters of the Mediterranean Sea, including the Tyrrhenian and Ionian. The main resort area on the Tyrrhenian coast of Sicily is the province of Palermo. The most popular place is Mondello, where a two-kilometer sandy beach is limited by rocks where there are caves. The Sicilians themselves prefer to relax here, so it is always crowded during the season. But if there is nowhere for an apple to fall on the beaches of Palermo, then there are almost no vacationers on the beaches of the Aeolian Islands, and the water there is crystal clear. These islands appeared as a result of volcanic eruptions, while one of them is the active volcano Stromboli.
There are thermal springs on the island of Panarea. In Catania, at the foot of Mount Etna, there is the 18-kilometer La Playa beach, starting in the city center. Near the town of Taormina there is a pretty Naxos beach, near which there are luxury hotels, nightclubs and expensive restaurants.

Sandy beaches in the west of Calabria are washed by the waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea, and hard-to-reach rocky bays in the east of the region are filled with the waters of the Ionian Sea. It is on the Tyrrhenian beaches that you can find modern infrastructure, so here you can not only bask in the sun during the day, but also have a great time at night - in coastal cities there are many relevant establishments for vacationers. The Tyrrhenian coast is notable for the presence of many ships on the seabed, the oldest of which sank here in ancient times (4 centuries BC). Thanks to this, many diving enthusiasts seek to get here.
One of the best in Calabria is the beach of Marina Grande - the "beach of the sirens", where there is very soft sand and blue sea. This beach is not surrounded by hills, so it is constantly blown by a light sea breeze - in the heat it is especially pleasant. Among other beaches we can mention Gioia Tauro - a beach where sand is mixed with pebbles, Costa Viola, so named because the sea here has a soft purple hue, amazingly beautiful sunsets on this beach.

Near Rimini are the most popular resorts on the Adriatic coast of Italy. Both in Rimini and in its surroundings there are a lot of opportunities for entertainment and recreation: leisure parks, water parks, sights, discos, nightclubs, a dolphinarium, in which performances are held every day. A hundred kilometers of the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea is occupied by the Riviera Lazio - a large Italian beach holiday area. The metropolitan region is famous for its abundance of sun, clean air, warm sea water and picturesque landscapes. There are only sandy beaches here, and on the coast there are old villages with an interesting history. There are also ancient castles, fortresses, villas and mansions of the rich. Lazio is proud of its national conservation area Circeo with karst caves. Rome is within easy reach from here, where you can go on excursions, but you can also go south to Naples to look at Vesuvius and visit the island of Capri. For relaxation, you can choose one of the resort towns on the Riviera Lazio:

Almost every Italian city has ancient palaces or temples, and in the narrow cobbled streets of the old quarters, time seems to be about...

  • next to Rome is the most visited and eternally noisy town of Ostia;

  • Speleologists come to Sperlonga to climb the local caves.

8. Lignano and Bibione

In the north-east of Italy, near Venice, there are wonderful resorts that are good not only for the beautiful coast, but also for the presence of thermal waters. It is here that the famous balneological resorts in the towns of Bibione and Lignano are located.
Lignano has a wide sandy beach 10 kilometers long. The sea here is shallow, so it warms up quickly, and vacationers can start swimming in its blue waters as early as May. For a family holiday, the best conditions are created here. A large aquazone has been organized in Lignano, the Punto Verde zoo, the Gulliverlandia amusement park and other entertainment for the whole family also operate.
Nearby is the town of Bibione, which is famous for its thermal springs and thalassotherapy treatments. And the local sea is just as shallow and warms up quickly. The resort in Bibione is relatively young - it began to develop about half a century ago. Fans of outdoor activities will be able to find a lot of various entertainments here, since there are conditions for water skiing, surfing, sailing, golf, tennis, hiking and horseback riding routes are also offered. There is also a place to go for those who like shopping raids - the best shopping center in the north of the country has recently been built in Bibione.

Italy is a country that attracts absolutely everything: culture and traditions, rich historical past, developed tourism infrastructure...

9. Sorrento

The ancient city of Sorrento is located on the tuff coast - this is one of the most romantic corners of the Italian coast. It has a rather mild climate, healthy air, and local beaches consist of fine volcanic sand, on the one hand they are framed by high rocks, and on the other - the azure sea. Sea holidays here are available both in the city itself and in nearby villages. But, since the city is located among high cliffs, the beach here is narrow, and to make it more convenient to enter the water, many piers have been made here.
The tradition of relaxing in Sorrento dates back to the Roman era, in the first century patricians began to come here. Nowadays, numerous groups of tourists from all over the world come to Sorrento to relax, and the Italians do not forget to spend their holidays on the volcanic coast. From here it is easy to get to the neighboring resorts of the Amalfi Coast, go to the islands or take a sea cruise.

10. Capri and Ischia

Literally opposite Naples in the Gulf of Naples are the magnificent islands of Capri and Ischia, which attract vacationers with the purity of sea water and secluded beaches equipped in the best style. The inhabitants of Ischia are famous for their friendliness and hospitality. In addition to a beach holiday, here you can visit the La Mortella Garden and the Aragonese Castle. In addition, you can get medical treatment here, because there are several balneological and health centers on the island. Some hotels in Ischia are literally located on thermal springs. Capri also has great beaches and great scenery, but the luxury here comes at a price.

I was bribed in this hotel by great reviews on all booking sites without exception, fresh modern design, location near the beach and the Grado thermal baths (yes, there are thermal springs in the city!). You can stay in apartments with one or two bedrooms; in any case, they will be equipped with everything necessary for a long stay, including a washing machine.

2. Moneglia, Liguria

Photo from here

Moneglia, whose beach also has a blue flag for cleanliness, is located between Genoa and the Cinque Terre and can be a convenient starting point for exploring the area. On one side - luxurious Portofino, a little further - controversial Genoa, on the other - the absolute Italian must see Cinve Terre, five towns clinging to the rocks. The coast here is rocky and is said to be excellent for diving as well.

I would go to Monelho just for this hotel! Judge for yourself: a former monastery built in the 15th century, antique furniture, the opportunity to use the pool and restaurant of a nearby hotel, tasting local products and wines. I really love places where the owners try to distinguish themselves from their neighbors in some way and put their soul into the establishment, and not just put beds and TVs in the rooms.

3. Monopoli, Apulia

In Monopoli, a small town between Bari and Lecce, I almost went on vacation two years ago. Just imagine: an absolutely white city with only a few yellow bell towers peeping through, a sandy beach, which is a two-minute walk away, and a clear sea. Nearby - miles of deserted coast with bays, which can be reached by car, an hour's drive - Bari with the relics of St. Nicholas and Lecce, Florence of the south. My friend, the same one that, rested in this region a couple of years ago and was completely delighted! You can trust her - in Italy she was, in my opinion, everywhere.

Everything about this hotel is just the way I like it! Design in light colors, sea view, many cozy corners where you can relax in the fresh air, a pool to swim in the morning, fresh and high-quality renovation. You can rent a room or a suite with a balcony overlooking the sea. In any case, you will not see many people, because the hotel is small. Romantic, right?

4. Alba Adriatica, Abruzzo

There are not many resorts in Italy with long sandy beaches and a gentle entry into the water. One of them is Rimini, but you yourself know everything about it. Another one is Alba Adriatica in Abruzzo. I stumbled upon this resort when I was looking for a place to relax with my dad: walking distance to the beach, comfortable entry into the water, convenient transport accessibility from the airport (in this case, Rome), no slides to climb, a variety of restaurants and shops. If you are looking for a holiday with children, Alba Adriatica may be perfect for you.

The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the beach, occupies a separate building. Inside - a very fresh renovation, apartments with 1 and 2 bedrooms (the second one is a rarity!), The price of which includes umbrellas and sun loungers on the city sandy beach. Each apartment has a fully equipped kitchen for those who like to cook on vacation, wireless Internet access, air conditioning in every room, new plumbing, TVs.

5. Marotta di Fano, Marche

Marotta di Fano is a town on the Adriatic coast of Italy, located between Rimini and Ancona. It is easy to get here through the airport of Bologna (where tickets, by the way, are always cheaper than to Rome and Milan). The beach here is sandy, with a convenient descent into the water. If you go to these parts, then do not miss, I beg you, the magnificent medieval and green hills of the Marche region!

From the hotel - just a few steps to the beach. The hotel itself has a lot of light and air, a swimming pool, a very modern interior and furnishings, a good, judging by the reviews, restaurant. On the booking sites, the hotel's customers praise the staff, the cleanliness and furnishings of the rooms and the excellent value for money.

6. Elba Island, Tuscany

Yes, yes, this is the same island on which Napoleon Bonaparte spent his days! Elba is located between Italy and French Corsica and is part of a national park. This means that the climate here is mild, the landscapes are diverse, the beaches are comfortable, the water is clean. Among the vacationers there are mainly Swiss and German tourists of respectable age, which means that there are a lot of routes for hiking and trekking, peace and quiet.

This hotel is for situations where you want to lie down, do nothing and go nowhere. Everything is at hand here - a swimming pool with a sun terrace, a sandy beach with sun loungers and umbrellas, a restaurant, a spa center, the center of Portoferraio, the main city of the island. Those who are too lazy to go even for dinner can take half board at the hotel and spend their holidays in a horizontal position, although I would still ride in the Elbe mountains.

7. Palinuro, Campania

You will drive here for a long time and along winding roads, but you will arrive at ringing silence, the sea and blue flag beaches, small bays and stunning sunsets and sunrises. Those who are not too lazy can make Palinuro the final point of a journey along the coast of Campania, which must begin at, continue at, make a detour on and finally end in this inaccessible branch of paradise.

What I liked most about this hotel is the terrace of the deluxe room, which you can see in the photo. Behind the sliding doors is a hot tub, and beyond is a well-appointed room with all modern comforts. However, all rooms have terraces or balconies and most of them look directly at the sea. The beach is very close, but for the lazy and those who like to swim from side to side there is a pool with sea water. In addition, the hotel has a small spa.

8. Santa Maria del Focallo, Sicily

I am absolutely convinced that you will not understand why Italy is like this. Sicily is a completely separate Italy, Italy in the absolute, an island literally stuffed with incredible landscapes, archaeological and historical values, an island where the most delicious food in Italy, the most delicious chocolate, the most delicious ice cream, the most tart wine and the most delicious seafood! Santa Maria del Focallo is a place on the southern coast of Sicily, close to Ragusa, Noto and Modica, must-see places on the island. The beach has a blue flag and the wind is quite strong, making Santa Maria del Focallo one of the best spots in Italy for kitesurfing.

I warn you right away: you definitely need a car to relax here, because. the hotel is not on the beach, but in the depths of the island. However, without a car, as my personal experience has shown, it is generally very difficult in Sicily. The hotel is located in a UNESCO protected area, occupies an old, but beautifully restored building, surrounded by greenery. The rooms are large, you can drink wine on your own terraces, you can relax by the pool with or without a book. On the beach of Pozzallo, the hotel will be happy to provide umbrellas and sun loungers.

9. Isle of Ischia, Campania

Ischia, of course, can hardly be called a little-known resort, but the mild climate, the proximity of Naples and Capri, which I am in love with, as well as the presence of thermal parks, made me include it in this list. I seriously considered Ischia as an option for a vacation in early May with my parents, but then I realized that I would probably go there in September with my husband. Here you can do everything that people usually do at the resort: walking white trousers, walking on a yacht, riding a convertible, drinking wine. Ischia, in a word, is a vacation with the taste of dolce vita, forgive me this hackneyed expression.

I'm even a little sorry to share this place, it's so beautiful! This small hotel, completely designed in a maritime style, is a 10-minute walk from the center of Ischia Porto, the liveliest city of the island, and the port itself, from where you can sail to Naples, Capri or Procida. The hotel has its own small beach. The rooms are furnished with love and great taste, and the owners, who even speak Russian, are ready to help their guests in every possible way in organizing their holidays.

10. La Maddalena, Sardinia

The small island of La Maddalena is a 10-minute boat ride from the northeast coast of Sardinia. The most convenient way to get here is by flying into Olbia Airport. La Maddalena, like the whole of Sardinia as a whole, is a place designed more for a luxurious and secluded holiday.

This hotel is another contender for my September vacation with my husband. This is a five-star resort hotel with a spa, several restaurants and its own yachts. Those who wish can go scuba diving or snorkeling, sail along the coast on a yacht, explore the island itself and the island of Sardinia. I would divide a two-week vacation in Sardinia into 2 parts: I spent one in this hotel, the second - in Sardinia itself, in the depths of the island.
