What does disbat mean in the army. Scary place "diesel

After taking the oath, the Soviet soldier assumed the duty of loyalty to the service of his Motherland and criminal liability for misconduct. But this was not written about in the Soviet press, and only a few high-profile cases began to penetrate the press in the 80s of the 20th century.

The spleen is the cause of disbat

The second most common reason for serving a sentence is hazing. Often, fights arose among the recruits - for this they could be convicted and exiled to the disbat. One day, two paratroopers argued with each other, a fight ensued, as a result of which one of the former comrades was seriously injured - a ruptured spleen. A criminal case was initiated, a trial was held - the guilty paratrooper was sent to serve his sentence. Sometimes the infliction of grievous bodily harm occurred through negligence: two comrades served in one unit, and soon they had to take a “demobilization” off. But the military had a habit of making symbolic blows, meaning a transfer from one caste to another. This is the blow that his friend inflicted on his colleague in the stomach - there was a rupture of the spleen, an urgent operation was required. And military investigators opened a case against a former friend, in which he was serving a term.

Dry rations dragged demobilization

Often in the Soviet army there were cases of theft. Several dry rations became the prey of a group of soldiers, but only one of them paid with freedom: by the time the theft was revealed, the perpetrators had retired, and it was not possible to convict them under a military article.

Military secrets are not for girls

Disclosure of military secrets - this is the reason why it was possible to thunder behind the barbed wire in three rows, usually the punishment zone specially protected by the Caucasian Shepherd Dogs was fenced in this way. Employees of one of the disbats recalled how a soldier came to them, who decided to brag to his girlfriend and called her from the warehouse on the office phone: he was bugged. In a conversation, the soldier, pissed off by the girl's voice, said that he was guarding a warehouse with TNT of such power that they could destroy an entire city. Possession of drugs, causing death by negligence while on guard - for these and other crimes, soldiers were sent to disbat for up to two years, and from the end of the 80s - up to three years. Often, military personnel committed the same crimes as in their usual life, they were often brought to the police, and when the time came to serve in the Soviet army, criminal habits were introduced into army life.

Mulino - the famous disbat

Usually the location of disbats was chosen in remote villages. In the summer of 1986, near the village of Mulino in the Volodarsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region, around which there were dozens of military units, one of the 16 largest Soviet disbats was formed. Soviet military builders, marines, sailors and infantrymen, shorn bald and dressed in the same uniform, served their sentences here. Many of them hoped to enter the army on parole for exemplary behavior. The daily routine in the Soviet disbat was the same as in the regular army: a wake-up call at half past six, ten minutes to get dressed, and a control check. It was carried out four times.

Disbat is not a prison

The Soviet disciplinary battalion was somewhat reminiscent of a prison, but it was not a prison, because at the end of the term of punishment for some servicemen, this term was counted and almost immediately demobilized. But not everyone was so lucky. According to the law of the Soviet era, after serving the sentence, the soldier was obliged to return to duty again and pay his debt to his homeland in full. Information about the criminal punishment incurred was not mentioned anywhere in the soldier's documents, with the exception of a personal file.

The investigation led the KGB

As a rule, in the Soviet army they tried to hide illegal cases that fell like a shadow of shame on exemplary units, but if this did not work out, then military investigators and KGB officers got involved, depending on the severity of the crime committed. The case was resolved within a few days, no one tried to leave the criminal in the unit for a long time, everyone tried to get rid of him. It must be admitted that the Soviet military courts worked professionally and quickly: the investigators immediately demanded all the characteristics of the soldier from the commanders, the documents were drawn up in a criminal case, which was redirected to the military prosecutor's office, and from there - directly to the leadership of the disciplinary battalion. The soldier was put into a car and taken to the wilderness, where such battalions were located: to the Chita or Rostov regions or to Novosibirsk. However, sometimes it came to anecdotal cases when the soldiers themselves got to the place of punishment. But this happened very rarely.

The lessons of education disbat

It was especially hard in the 90s, when the Soviet army became a mirror of many interethnic conflicts: the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh backfired on the fact that a massacre took place in one of the units, as a result, several people went to the hospital for treatment, and several went to the disbat . Inter-ethnic clashes took place in military units in the 80s, but they did not receive wide publicity. According to military investigators, the perpetrators were sent to serve their sentences. Education disbat became for some a lesson for life - people became extremely obedient and executive, and this measure of punishment embittered other soldiers - they became the main instigators of conflicts.

Hello dear readers.

I would like to talk about a terrible place for soldiers, where, fortunately, few get now - about disbat.

I myself have not been there. Colleagues and a boy in the hospital, who served there in full, told me about the disbat.

Disbat - a disciplinary battalion, it is also a "diesel". This is a special military unit, to which military personnel who have committed serious disciplinary offenses in relation to service are sent.

This part is surrounded by high fences with barbed wire. There are shooting towers around the perimeter. There is an armed guard, a cynological and equestrian department in case of an escape. But, in fact, it is impossible to escape from the disbat.

Why do they get into disbat.

The main reasons for flying into a disbat are a beating with infliction of grievous bodily harm, a gross violation of the charter (for example, while standing on duty, he played with a bayonet knife, and then suddenly the company commander comes in and the bayonet knife, as luck would have it, jumps out of his hands and sticks in his leg) , SOC - unauthorized abandonment of the unit (to give SOCCH - an army expression meaning escape from the unit), disclosure of military secrets (we had one shot - I called my girlfriend and said: “I’m sitting here in a warehouse, but there’s enough cartridges and TNT to smash the city !”... as a result, uncles from the FSB arrived and the guy left for demobilization a year later). Thus, you can get into a diesel engine, both for running to frighten birds with a machine gun, and for not following an order. Described about the nutrition of infants.

How to send to disbat.

An act is drawn up for the guilty soldier, the commanders fill out a bunch of papers on him. On the appointed day, a car arrives and takes the soldier to a distant wilderness, that is, very far from settlements. Once in a disbat, a soldier surrenders his things. He is given a special form. Mobile phones are prohibited in disbat.

Service in disbat.

In general, speaking seriously, this is not a service, but simply hell. Cool dembal peppers break in a week, or even earlier. The soldier is obliged to know the date of the beginning of the service, the date of enrollment in the disbat and the date of the end of the service in the disbat, the number of the article by which he was identified in the disbat and the transcript of the article is also memorized. In disbat, everything is done according to the charter, all movements are only on the run and only in formation. The only place where you can relax is the dining room. In disbat there is corrective-compulsory labor. For example, manually making concrete blocks or working at a sawmill. Every day, complete zadrotstvo drill, physical exercises, and unreal drochilovo in repeating the charter in chorus. In winter, of course, the nerdiness lies in the fact that the soldiers are forced to make unrealistically even edgings from snow (an edging is a square of snow). If you messed up somewhere or refused to obey, then you end up in a guardhouse. The guardhouse (aka “lip” or “kicha”) is a closed-type room, where it’s cold as hell and you need to go gray on an iron chair, at an iron table. When opening the door, it is necessary to approach the one who opened the door with a marching step and name everything that was described above regarding the article and date, as well as the rank and surname. The convicts have only one rank in the disbat - private. Even if you are an officer, even a sergeant, you are a private in a diesel engine. Only the so-called free conscripts who serve here on conscription, as well as officers of this unit, have ranks in the unit. It is impossible to agree with either of them, since this is a direct road for them to diesel in the form of convicts. For this reason, the conscripts serving there are taciturn, because the first article of the charter says: "The sentry is prohibited: To make any contact with the convict ...". I know a case when a convict asked the guard for a cigarette and he gave it to him, and the head of the guard saw this case. The result is deplorable: the guard received a sentence even longer than the convict to whom he gave a cigarette. There are cases when guys were stuffed into a disbat for completely already complete garbage. Most of these cases, of course, was associated with the personal hostility of the officer to the soldier. In rare cases, in such a barbaric way they demonstrated that there is discipline in the unit.

It is especially easy to get into disbat if the part is statutory. On the Internet, I read correspondence between Dagestanis about one such statutory part, so in it even the most harmful Dagestanis stand on the bedside table, because they are afraid to get into a disbat. One told the other that they put them in a diesel engine for any garbage.

But the most difficult, of course, is for those conscripts who serve in the disbat on conscription: any jamb is clearly not in their favor.

Of course, now they are less likely to be put in a disbat, since officers are reluctant to run around with pieces of paper, and they are also deprived of bonuses for violations identified in the unit, etc. In addition, there are only two disputes left now. However, if the officers want, they will put them in a disbat.

So do not relax, or, even more so, go to serious violations, so that the service does not turn out to be longer than a year, and does not take place mostly in pitch hell.

The article was written by Alexander Terentiev, good service to those who serve and go to serve, and health to parents.

- this, you see, sounds very harsh. Similar to the penal battalion of the times of the 2nd World War, in which soldiers were sent to the most hopeless areas of hostilities in order to atone for misconduct against the Motherland with their blood. To date, there are only two disciplinary battalions left in Russia, one of which is the 28th disciplinary separate battalion, located in Mulimo, which will be discussed in this article. The disciplinary battalion is not a prison at all, it is a kind of correctional military unit. Serving at 28 Mulinsky disbat 2 types of personal composition - variable composition (prisoners) and permanent composition (guards).

All existing servicemen of variable composition are the contingent that is directly located within the entire period. They get inside the disbat for a different period of time, the minimum period is 3 months and the maximum is 2 years. Currently in part 28 mulinsky disbat there are about 170 "guests" out of 800 possible and designated places.

Some people, who know a lot about everything that happens in the disbat, explained: dropping into the disbat is not an easy task. In short, in disciplinary battalion quite a few "stumbled by chance", most of those people in prison who, by their own efforts, have imposed a rather dubious "authority" on themselves.

The army is not an organization of weighing or outweighing anything, of definitely established measures, and not a special squad of right-wing scouts, the army is a huge organization, within which a large number of the most stupid and strange violations constantly occur.

Who serves in disbat?

In disbat, most of those who allowed themselves, so to speak, hazing. In other words, such relationships are referred to as "anniversary" or "hazing". One of the most common types of hazing is the beating and mutilation of colleagues. In addition to the "executors", the number of people, so to speak, "Sochi residents" (SOCH - stands for unauthorized abandonment of the unit) is quite large. In general, there are not a large number of existing articles under which serving armies are convicted and are in a variable composition.

AT disbat there are former violent people, such as thieves, hooligans without ideas and sense, robbers, and simply, pardon the expression, fools. But there are no cruel murderers, rapists and other most dangerous criminals. For all such ferocious soldiers who have managed to commit a very serious crime, there are a separate kind of specialized institutions.

Only ordinary soldiers are located in existing companies. Past well-deserved honorary titles, merits and distinctions do not count towards any credit. An excellent shooter, a sailor, a border guard, or just a "kolyanukha" - everyone is accepted on an equal basis into the "organization" of a specialized battalion of a disciplinary nature. All, without any exception, enrolled in disbat they cut their hair "bald" and change into a uniform that is specially designed by the existing charter.

What are the regulations of the disciplinary battalion?

Inside the most guarded perimeter in the disbat there are bars on all windows, buffer-type gates, made mainly of metal mesh, and other essential restrictions. The sleeping room in the barracks section is separated by a metal lattice door, which is locked. In the event that at night a fighter rushes to the toilet, then he needs to check in according to the established list and go to the toilet alone all alone. It is strictly forbidden to go to the toilet together at night, only one at a time. Outside, a variable composition of soldiers is guarded by other military personnel - from the so-called permanent type. In addition to the guard of the shooters, servicemen, German shepherds trained in all the necessary and useful skills, guard the guards at the post.

Once again, at the invitation of the press club of the Ministry of Defense, which regularly organizes press tours for bloggers, I went to study military life from the inside. This time the unit was not quite ordinary - the 28th separate DISCIPLINARY BATTALION in Mulino.

Dad, who served in the army in the 80s, said that the soldiers were always afraid of disbat like fire. There was an opinion: a zone is better than a disbat. So I went to the unit in advance full of sympathy and compassion for the guys who found themselves in inhuman conditions. Now I can frankly tell everyone: there are no "inhuman" conditions, no one is torturing anyone. Discipline, a strict daily routine, work and an almost complete lack of free time - this, in fact, is all that distinguishes a disbat from an ordinary military unit.

And about the comparison with the zone: only 5% of the guys who served their sentences in the disbat later commit crimes. I think we can all guess that the percentage of people who get out of prison and commit a crime again is very high.

Why do they get into debate?

First of all, I was interested in the fate of people who ended up in the disciplinary battalion. Who, why, for how long is convicted, pleads guilty or not, etc. Thanks to the unit's superiors for allowing me to ask questions and talk to any of the soldiers, including new arrivals.

This is Yegor, he is 21 years old. He served in Tver in the Air Force. On the 7th month of service, he quarreled with a guy from the new draft, hit him.
I ask: why did you do it?
"I wanted to show that I'm better. Now, of course, I understand that I was wrong, but there's nothing to fix."
For a bruise to a colleague, Yegor will serve 8 months in disbat. I don’t know whether it’s sincere or not, but he says that the conditions are normal, not much different from the army, “only they are watching us seriously.”
"Here I became calmer. I realized that it is impossible to inflict pain. And even more so, it is not worth losing 8 months of freedom. When I return home, I dream of going to university, studying to be a psychologist."

Sergei has a different story. He just arrived in the unit, sentenced to 10 months. He probably does not admit his guilt, and he certainly did not expect that he would be punished for disobeying orders. And in vain...

Extract from the verdict (photo below):

“At about 11 p.m. on January 4, 2011, Private Grigoriev, being on duty in the unit ... in the barracks without good reason and acting deliberately, evading a number of duties of military service and wanting to create easier conditions for himself to complete it, ... openly and defiantly refused to comply with the oral order of the officer on duty for this military unit to clean the premises of the barracks assigned to the orderly company ... "

Well, many more stories could be told, but they are all similar: disobedience of orders, unauthorized abandonment of the unit, did not return from dismissal, beat a colleague ... They are really sorry, but then you understand: they are in disbat for a cause, and he is right unit commander who does not cover hazing among soldiers.

The number of those serving sentences in the disbat is not growing: now there are 200 people there (for comparison, in 2004 there were more than 700). It pleases =)

What do soldiers in disbat do?

Disbat is first of all a discipline. The daily routine is as follows:

6.30 - rise
6.40 - control formation on the parade ground
50 minutes of charging
Then the morning toilet, making the bed
8.20 - breakfast
9.00 - building, raising the flag
9.10 - 13.50 - training sessions for people in quarantine (those who are here for no more than 2 weeks)
The rest at this time are engaged in socially useful work, work in a reinforced concrete shop (photos will be below)
14.00 - lunch. Then personal time.
16.00 - control building
until 17.50 - classes and socially useful work
18.00 - 18.50 - those who are in quarantine undergo a daily medical examination for bruises and marks from beatings (according to the head of the unit, this is nonsense in disbat, but these are the rules)
19.20 - 19.50 - dinner
Then personal time
21.50 - formation and evening walk (20 minutes)

Work in the concrete shop. The proceeds from the sold products are credited to the account of the part. The work is VERY difficult, but the education of fighters is possible only through labor, and nothing else. You have to work hard.

And this is lunch:

They feed well. Soup, buckwheat with chicken, vegetable salad, fruit drink. And about. the commander of the unit gave his word that this was not window dressing and that the guys had such food every day.

"Let's go see our poodles and lapdogs," they told us, and we went. cute dogs))

I had to stand aside, because I was very embarrassed by this huge dog, shaking the bars and howling heartbreakingly, and I was especially embarrassed by the soldier who held the wobbly lock on the enclosure door with his hand. Then we were told that 3 years ago the convict tried to escape. It was the dogs who caught him. 16 bites + crossfire on the legs from the guards. No one else tried to run away.

demonstration performances

The results are

I didn’t have time to ask a lot, time was very limited, for example, how one serves in a security company (these are ordinary conscripts).

For those who came here not by chance, but for a cause, it is hard not so much physically as mentally. Barbed wire, 2 security systems, at night the territory is also guarded by dogs. Every two hours - building and checking the composition. Terms rather big - from 3 months to 2 years. At the end of the term, the guy goes to serve the army, only to another part. Meetings with relatives are allowed (4 times a year), but only with the closest - parents, brothers, sisters and wives. 1 parcel per month is also allowed, but the list of items is strictly limited.

But there would be no such units (and we now have two disbats - in Mulino and in Chita), many would go to serve time behind bars.

Conclusion: if you serve, take the army seriously. Respect the rules and colleagues. Although I didn’t see any horrors in the disbat, I don’t advise getting there.

28 separate disciplinary battalion in Mulino- one of the two disbats remaining in Russia. The second is near Chita. But even in those days when there were more disputes throughout the country, Mulinsky was considered one of the most prosperous, if at all the words “well-being” and “disbat” can be put side by side. A few hours spent inside this impressive institution, I think, turned out to be extremely useful. Rare power source of knowledge of life.

The disciplinary battalion is not a prison, but a military unit. Two types of personnel serve in military unit 12801 - permanent and variable. Variable personnel are those who are inside the protected perimeter. They get inside for different times, from three months to two years. At the moment, there are 170 "guests" out of 800 possible in the unit.

Knowledgeable people explained: to call in a disciplinary battalion is not an easy task. In a sense, there are few “accidentally stumbled”, more of those who managed to acquire quite significant personal “glory” with their labors. The army is not a chamber of measures and weights and not a right-flank detachment of scouts, it is a huge organization within which a lot of the strangest violations and deviations constantly happen. And you have to strain a little to be personally noticed against the general background. Some have spared no effort.

There are a lot of those in the disbat who allowed themselves the so-called. inappropriate relationships. Otherwise, this kind of relationship is called "hazing" or "anniversary". One of the most common types of hazing is the beating of colleagues. In addition to the "executors", the percentage of "Sochi residents" is also high ( SOCH- unauthorized abandonment of the unit) or, as they are also called, "skiers". Generally speaking, there are not so many articles under which warriors of varying composition are convicted.

For example, article 335 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Violation of the statutory rules of relations between military personnel in the absence of subordination relations between them. Violation of the statutory rules of relations between military personnel in the absence of subordination relations between them, associated with humiliation of honor and dignity or mockery of the victim, or accompanied by violence, is punishable by detention in a disciplinary military unit for a term of up to two years or imprisonment for a term of up to three years. And subparagraphs to the article.

Or article 337. Unauthorized abandonment of a unit or place of service. Unauthorized abandonment of a unit or place of service, as well as failure to appear on time without good reason for service upon dismissal from a unit, upon appointment, transfer, from a business trip, vacation or medical institution lasting more than two days, but not more than ten days, committed by a serviceman undergoing military conscription service - shall be punishable by arrest for a term of up to six months or by detention in a disciplinary military unit for a term of up to one year. And again a lot of subparagraphs.

There are former thieves, brawlers, robbers, unprincipled hooligans and simply amazing caliber fools in the disbat (for those who are interested - almost an hour movie with real stories). But there are no rapists, murderers and other criminals. For them, institutions of a different kind are intended.

Here, by the way, a very big question arises - where, in fact, is it better: in a disbat or in prison? Personally, I don’t know the correct answer, but I suspect that disbat is more useful for the majority of those who have stopped in prison. But these are my fantasies, of course, I don’t know how it really is there. But I know that there are no marks on a criminal record in the passport of a serviceman who spent time in a disbat. Of course, it will not be difficult for the military commissar to understand what lies behind the lines about being in military unit 12801, but for the rest, for those who are not involved, the person’s reputation is spotless. This, there is an opinion, in a number of circumstances can cost a lot for a young man.

“Nothing makes a warrior’s life easier than discipline…”

In companies - only privates. Past merits, titles and distinctions do not count. The type of troops and specialization also do not play a role. A sailor, a motorized rifleman, a border guard or a "vovan" - everyone is equally welcomed into the bosom of a disciplinary battalion. They cut their heads and change into new uniforms. The times when the Red Army uniform of the 1943 model was worn in disbat have passed. Caps with stars, harem pants and tunics with a stand-up collar are no longer in stock.

The servicemen are dressed in the usual "camouflage". On top of the form with white paint through a stencil, the numbers of the companies and the inscription CONVOY are applied all over the back. This is so as not to confuse the constant and variable compositions. Another visible difference between the compositions is overcoats instead of pea jackets. Although, as you can see in the pictures, there are also pea jackets. Shoes are pretty uniform - boots. In frosts - felt boots. By the way, the boots of the convicted soldiers met in the unit really shone. The buckles of the fighters, on the contrary, are faded, field. Some of them are painted green for some reason.
Inside the guarded perimeter there are bars on the windows, buffer gates made of metal mesh and other restrictions. The sleeping quarters in the barracks are separated by a lockable metal lattice door. If at night the fighter is impatient in the toilet, one must be noted in a special list and proceed to the place of departure of natural needs strictly in splendid isolation. Already together, for example, at night it is impossible to rush to the toilet.

While we were photographing the orderly, the outfit sleeping in the barracks received the command “Rise!” The resting people instantly flew up over the bunks and marched in a clear short formation to the washroom.

There is no national question in the unit, all sorts of "community" and other groupings are not encouraged. But the so-called. "Caucasians" are present. Approximately one in four of the 170 current “convicted” are from the Caucasus. Among them come across mistakenly considering themselves stubborn and inflexible citizens. If a fiery fighter for his men's rights who has come to the disbat, the list of offered pleasures seems to be insufficiently complete, there is a healing guardhouse. The stay there is up to 30 days. The decision of the court is not required, the will of the commander is enough.

If even thirty days on the “lip” seemed like a joke, the procedure can be repeated. Until now, they say, it helped everyone. At the end, the craving for work on oneself and creative physical labor in the name of society in a condemned and fined warrior sharply increases. But the "diet food" in the form of bread and water in the guardhouse was cancelled. They feed the inmates there and just the fighters of the disbat the same way.

Outside the "variable" warriors are guarded by other warriors - from the permanent staff. In addition to the shooters, ferocious service dogs and special equipment are on guard. The object is secure, the guards move in "armor", helmets and with fixed bayonets and, in which case, they have the right to open fire to kill. They know how to shoot, the command of the unit conducts live firing almost every Friday, since the training ground in Mulino is gigantic, there is enough space for both the guard shooter and the self-propelled guns.

“My friend and I work on diesel...”

The labor front for servicemen of variable composition is all around. Starting from the barracks, shining with almost sterile cleanliness, absolutely square snowdrifts around the parade ground, and ending with the painstaking production of large-scale models of the unit for the local museum.

After the “tour” around the part, the audience was given the opportunity to listen to brief stories of the four fighters of the disbat. The most harmless of them is "self-propelled". He ran away from the unit home, ran for three days, now he will spend nine months behind the fence in Mulino. Next to him is a guy with a Georgian surname and restless eyes. He beat the officer who filmed him on a video camera, and apparently broke this camera. Why? What for? Unclear. 10 months to consider.

The former sergeant, who had already served 11 months, was the best of all, who became demobilized and, on this basis, expressed himself in grievous bodily injuries. Arrived in Mulino for 2 years. I looked at everyone like an eagle, apparently, a tough nut to crack. The eyes of the others were dark and fearful. Young boys aroused sympathy, which is already there. Among them were amazing characters. Now everyone is waiting for the most exciting events to correct themselves.

The officers accompanying us clearly explained: trimming and relentless squaring of snowdrifts, constant walking in formation, difficult casting of concrete blocks in the industrial zone and many months of cramming the same charters that have already bothered a hundred times - classes, of course, are stupid. Everyone understands this, especially civilians. Sensible activities are extortion, theft, escapes, beatings, theft of motor vehicles, unauthorized absences from my mother and arrivals on regular vacations with exhausting myself with many days of drinking in half with indiscriminate robbery of stupid citizens. It's quite another matter!
From cravings for such hobbies in disbat are relieved with the help of occupational therapy. While we were standing on the parade ground, several groups of fighters with crowbars, shovels and brooms paraded in different directions, briskly minting a step on the frozen asphalt. On the parade ground, the disbat fighters either march (most often in the ranks, but sometimes individually) or run. Combat training and physical education are closely intertwined and fill almost the entire leisure time of a serviceman. And in general, there was an impression that a soldier of variable composition in a battalion tends to either stand still or immediately run away.
In the so-called. "free time" soldiers of the disciplinary battalion can turn to faith. On the territory of the disbat, a small, very neat Orthodox church was erected by the hands of the convicts. For Muslims there is a prayer room. In rare moments of leisure, believing soldiers have the opportunity to reflect on their immortal souls. Places of worship in the military unit are not empty.
Do they run from disbat? They're running. But rarely and unsuccessfully. One of the cases of escape was recorded in 2008. The escape ended sadly: after warning shots in the air, the guards opened aimed fire at the fugitive, shot him in both legs, and the guard dogs also bit the wounded man. But here you should not look for the guilty, all the participants in the events knew for sure what they were going for and what to expect. Mulino is not Hollywood at all, many kilometers of heated ventilation holes and laundry baskets to ensure a comfortable escape cannot be found.
There were also particularly resourceful fighters in the history of the disbat: one decided to run across the sheets into the window directly from the hotel, where he was with his visiting parents, and the other bravely ate nails and other metal objects. I really wanted to rest in the hospital. Nails from the entertainer were removed and transferred to the museum of the part. Other items confiscated from (from) the convicts are also stored there - syringes, home-made playing cards, primitive sharpeners, knives and other useful little things.
It was not possible to see any, I emphasize once again in red, NO horrors in the location of the unit, with the exception of those that were demonstrated at every step: cleanliness, monotony, full employment. Without any jokes - 8 hours of drill and physical training, 8 hours of studying charters, 8 hours of sleep, moving strictly within the perimeter by running or marching, checking, building, strict adherence to the daily routine, not everyone can stand the daily drill. Charters, for example, are studied to the point of complete amazement and falling into a military trance, only on this basis can one move with the mind! There is no doubt - a difficult place. On the faces of military personnel of variable composition, everything is immediately visible. It’s not worth it, they say, to get here, but it only illuminates too late.

I don’t know if the skills and abilities acquired in the disbat will be useful to the soldiers in their later life, but from a conversation with a permanent soldier, it turned out that knowing the regulations makes life easier on either side of the barbed wire. Looks like the soldier knows what he's talking about.
