Content

Smart people have come up with a device that saves water without reducing its flow. The aerator for the mixer (diffuser, sprayer) is not just a mesh filter, but a very convenient nozzle. Men and women who consider it unnecessary are thinking wrong. What is the device and why do knowledgeable housewives seek to purchase it?

What is an aerator in a mixer

The water divider on the faucet is a small nozzle mounted on the spout. The body of the aerator is made of plastic, pressed metal, ceramic or brass, inside there is a plastic module with a filter system and a rubber / silicone gasket. Without these nets, the water consumption can be 15 liters per minute, with them the figure is almost halved.

Functions

All modern faucets are equipped with diffusers. In addition to saving water, the aerator contributes to:

  • improving the quality of the jet - without a sprayer, sprays fly in different directions, the pressure is too strong and sometimes difficult to regulate;
  • saturation of water with oxygen and a decrease in the concentration of active chlorine;
  • purification of water from large particles;
  • reduce the noise level during the operation of the mixer.

Principle of operation

The meshes in the body are placed in a certain sequence. The first two direct the jet of water from the inside and act as a coarse filter. The outer nets are equipped with holes of the same or different sizes, through which air is sucked in and mixed with water. As a result, a foamy, milky jet emerges from the central hole. With good water quality, you need to change the metal nozzle every year or less (depending on the quality of the atomizer), bad water requires more frequent replacement. The diffuser needs to be cleaned every few months.

Types of aerators for mixers

The simplest faucet sprayer is a small round nozzle with metal meshes that is threaded (screwed) to the faucet spout. A standard atomizer comes with any faucet. Over time, it must be replaced with a model with a similar external or internal thread. If you want to buy an aerator for a faucet "with options", take a look at the following types.

Turning

Still such aerators are called flexible. The appearance of the device is different:

  • In the form of a flexible hose that is attached to the spout of the mixer. The design regulates the strength of the water flow, provides the ability to collect water in large containers that do not melt under the spout.
  • In the form of a soul. The sprayer is equipped with movable watering cans, due to which it moves within the sink. Works in two modes: jet or spray. The hostess can easily adjust the slope of the watering cans and the intensity of the water flow.

backlit

Technology does not stand still, and leading plumbing manufacturers present unusual models. Faucet aerator with LEDs colors the water jet depending on the temperature:

  • up to 29°C - green;
  • 30-38°C - blue;
  • more than 39 ° C - red.

This is possible due to the presence of thermal sensors inside. A special nozzle for the mixer does not require additional sources of electricity, it is autonomous. The rotation of the built-in turbine feeds the LED bulbs. Maximum operating temperature: +60°С. A backlit water aerator is convenient when there is a small child in the house - you can immediately see by the color of the stream what temperature range it is in. Also, a bright jet will interest the baby and make bathing more joyful. The device looks especially attractive in the interior of modern and high-tech style.

Vacuum

If you want to reduce water consumption by more than half, choose vacuum devices. In Moscow, they are found in almost every good plumbing store. The price of nozzles is noticeably higher than that of conventional models, but it quickly pays off. Buying an aerator to save water is a great solution, because the vacuum system makes the flow very low (1.1 l / min.). Models are equipped with a special valve that strongly compresses the water for a further release of a powerful jet.

Faucet aerator

Online stores sell a variety of models: cheap plastic and expensive premium brass / ceramic. You can also buy an aerator for a mixer online, you just need to choose the right thread diameter. From the photo, you will determine whether the product will suit you outwardly or not, and by the characteristics, evaluate the capabilities of the aerator. If everything suits you, you can order the goods. The cost of a sprayer will most likely be lower than in real stores, however, mail-order shipping often exceeds the price of the product itself.

Remer M28

The Italian holding has been producing high quality goods since 1965. Consumers fell in love with Remer sanitary ware due to its optimal prices and comfortable operation. The presented aerator is not designed for a kitchen faucet, but for a bathtub. Description of the device Remer M28 (model 84):

  • Price: 239-277 rubles.
  • Characteristics: the body of the nozzle is made of chrome-plated brass, the mesh material is stainless steel. The inner part is represented by heavy-duty innovative plastic. Male thread M28.
  • Pros: simple design, reliable aeration system, durable housing and high-quality internal filling, saves up to 15% of water consumption.
  • Cons: not found.

How to choose a faucet aerator

The most important thing is not to make a mistake with the diameter of the product and the method of fastening. There are models with internal and external threads. The first have a diameter of 22 mm, the second - 24 mm. If you have an exclusive faucet, choose an aerator specifically for it (for example, for a rectangular or figured spout). Leading manufacturers produce aerators suitable for specific models. It happens that the mixer is not equipped with a thread, then it is necessary to replace it.

A significant role in the choice is played by the material of manufacture. Aerators are made from the following raw materials:

  • Chrome-plated, stainless steel. The metal case is cheap, but it quickly breaks down under the influence of water and impurities.
  • Plastic. Aerators are optimal in terms of performance and price. However, they are not very aesthetic, they are not prescribed for every interior.
  • Non-ferrous metals (brass, bronze). Expensive, but the best for faucets.
  • Ceramics. Durable and high quality, the most expensive. The internal parts of the aerator are made of ceramics, and the body is made of non-ferrous metals.

The quality of this device directly affects its performance and service life. Very good companies producing aerators, faucets and plumbing in general: Oras, Timo (Finland), Grohe (Germany), Jacob Delafon (France). The average cost of products is 6-8 dollars, however, the service life is long - 7-10 years. The diffusers of these companies have earned the best consumer reviews.

First of all, you need to look around in your garage and pick up the necessary details:

  • drainage pump (not very high power);
  • a two-meter section of a sewer pipe (diameter 32 mm);
  • forty-centimeter pipe (of the same diameter);
  • elbow tee at 45 degrees;
  • Good double braided cable.

Important! The tee must be exactly forty-five degrees. If you connect the aerator pipe at a right angle, water will constantly be thrown into the device.

Assembling a homemade aerator is simple:

  • The sewer tee is connected to the drainage pump by means of the fitting supplied with the kit. For reliability, you can use silicone sealant.
  • On the other hand, a branch pipe of shorter length is inserted into the tee.
  • Insert a 45 degree angle into the top outlet, and then attach a long pipe.
  • Now you need to connect an electrical cable to the aerator. The wire must be airtight, so it is wrapped with several layers of electrical tape and placed in a hermetically sealed corrugation.
  • The pump must always be at a depth of 70-100 cm from the surface of the water, while the intake pipe must be located above the water level. To ensure this, it is necessary to weld the mast from a metal pipe and fix it at the bottom of the pond.
  • It remains to attach the aerator to the mast and apply voltage.
  • Advice! If there are fish in the pond, it is better to enclose the pump in a mesh box.

    Do-it-yourself bottom aerator for a pond

    Such a device will cost quite inexpensively, especially if the owner has an unnecessary car compressor with a receiver. So, for a homemade bottom aerator you will need:

    • compressor (from a car, vacuum cleaner or refrigerator);
    • high pressure hoses;
    • clamps;
    • tees;
    • sprayers or nozzles.

    Advice! You can make nozzles from simple improvised means. For example, empty plastic bottles are suitable, in which you need to make small holes. If you need to further reduce the size of the air bubbles, you can wrap the bottles with thin foam rubber.

    Assembling an aerator with your own hands is not difficult at all:

  • The compressor unit is placed in a convenient place (it can be a barn located next to a pond).
  • A central hose is connected to the compressor and pulled towards the pond.
  • Using tees, it is necessary to make taps according to the number of nozzles. For a secure connection, it is better to use clamps.
  • Fix sprayers to tees.
  • Attach sprayers to the bottom of the pond. They can be pressed with cobblestones or metal pins with a bent end can be driven into the bottom.
  • Attention! Such an aerator will not be able to work continuously, moreover, the device will make a lot of noise. Therefore, a homemade bottom aerator is suitable for irregular saturation of ponds.

    DIY wind aerator

    In winter, engines and compressors do not “feel” very well. If you need to enrich the pond with oxygen in winter, it is better to use a wind aerator, and you can assemble it from the most common parts.

    For work you will need:

    • metal square with sides 30x30 cm;
    • a long smooth metal rod with a cross section of about 20 mm;
    • closed-type bearings corresponding to the diameter of the rod;
    • two strips of metal 2 mm thick, the length of which slightly exceeds the dimensions of the bearings;
    • plastic barrel;
    • a fan from the car's cooling system or something similar;
    • fasteners and tools.

    Assemble the wind aerator as follows:

  • From the metal you need to cut 8 identical squares, and then weld cubes from them.
  • A crossbar should be installed inside each cube, a hole should be cut in it and a bearing should be installed inside it. The centers of the holes in both bearings must be exactly on the same line.
  • A metal rod is inserted into the bearings.
  • The plastic barrel should be cut into two equal parts - these are the blades of the windmill.
  • Using metal loops, the blades should be fixed at the top of the rod.
  • Fan blades are fixed to the bottom of the metal rod - they will be located under water.
  • They assemble a mast for a wind aerator and install it in a pond, fix a device with blades assembled with their own hands.
  • Attention! The wind aerator can be made floating. To do this, foam plastic, plastic barrels or bottles are attached to the bottom of the mast.

    This aerator design is relevant for large ponds, and so that the device does not swim too far, you can tie a rope.

    Conclusion

    An aerator is an indispensable device for small artificial reservoirs. It prevents stagnation of water, the appearance of a bad smell, silting of the bottom and walls, saturates the water with oxygen and creates favorable conditions for the life of plants and animals.

    It is not at all necessary to spend a lot of money on the purchase of an aerator, it is quite possible to make it yourself using the simplest materials and tools. You can watch the video story on how to assemble a pond aerator:

    An aerator is a plumbing device that is installed on the spouts of water taps and faucets to saturate water with small air bubbles and mechanically clean it from foreign particles.

    The principle of operation of the aerator is to pass water through several grids with different cell sizes. Due to this, the water is saturated with air, it feels softer and less splashes when washing dishes. While maintaining washing efficiency aerator saves up to 70% of water.

    Types of mixer aerators

    The range of aerator nozzles for installation on tap spouts of mixers is represented by the following types:

    • simple mesh, which is usually installed by manufacturers on all spouts of taps and mixers;
    • with adjustable water jet shape;
    • with a change in the angle of the flow of the water jet;
    • with adjustable shape and angle of water jet flow;
    • with unsystematic multi-colored LED illumination of the water jet;
    • with LED illumination of the water jet in different colors depending on its temperature.

    The photo on the left shows an aerator with the ability to adjust the shape and angle of the water jet, on the right an aerator with LED lighting, and in the center there are two simple standard aerators.

    simple mesh

    A common type of aerator that is commonly installed on all spouts of faucets and faucets in bathtubs, sinks and kitchen sinks.

    A simple aerator is a housing in which a number of plastic and metal meshes are placed. The photo shows a simple aerator disassembled.

    With the ability to adjust the shape and angle of the water jet

    Manufacturers, as a rule, do not install aerators with the ability to adjust the shape and angle of the water flow on faucet spouts, since they are not much different from standard aerators in terms of efficiency, but cost twice as much.

    Typically, the shape of the spouts of mixers ensures the optimal direction of the water jet, and the ability to change its angle is rarely required. But the ability to change the shape of the jet can be useful.

    If the water flows out in the form of a stream of many jets, as in the photo on the left, then the water pressure in each of the jets increases and this mode is good when washing heavily soiled dishes. In the other position of the flow regulator, water flows out as from a standard aerator.

    With LED illuminated water jet

    More recently, thanks to the efforts of Chinese manufacturers, aerators for faucets with LED lighting have appeared on the market, illuminating water. The water illuminated with different colors is very popular with children and they are happy to run to wash or even wash the dishes. And adults like to look at colored water.

    There are two types of LED aerators:

    • with random color change;
    • with backlight color changing depending on the water temperature

    Structurally, aerators are made in the same way, and the choice is determined only by personal preferences. If you like constantly changing colors, like in a stroboscope, then you need to choose the first type, and if you like water simply illuminated with one color, then the second type.

    The temperature-dependent water light aerator illuminates the jet as follows:

    • green at temperatures below 30°C;
    • blue color at a temperature in the range from 30°C to 38°C;
    • red at temperatures above 39°C.

    Aerator device with LED lighting

    Aerators with LED lighting, both with iridescent colors and illuminating the water with a color depending on its temperature, are arranged in the same way and designed to operate at a temperature of water passing through them no more than 60 ° C.

    The photo shows the aerator from the outflow side of the water jet. As you can see, instead of a mesh, a transparent cover with holes is installed, as in a shower head.

    On the opposite side of the aerator, a coarse water filter and an annular rubber gasket are installed. The mesh filter in quality aerators is usually installed in stainless steel or brass.

    The mesh is simply inserted into the aerator body and can be easily removed. Behind it, you can see a detail in the form of a cup, on the sides of which three rectangular holes are made at an angle, which serve to direct the flow of water onto the blades of the generator turbine.

    The cup is made of plastic and is not fixed, so it can also be easily removed without the use of a tool.

    Water, falling under pressure on the blades of the generator turbine, causes them to rotate. The turbine is mounted on a shaft, and during rotation, it transmits torque through it to a generator that generates electric current. LEDs are connected to the generator winding. Therefore, when the generator is running, they glow, highlighting the water.

    As you can see, no no batteries in the aerator with LED light. If the LEDs stop shining, then the generator or LEDs are out of order. Such an aerator cannot be repaired, except that it is possible to clean the mesh filter and the turbine from dirt.

    Manufacturers call a nozzle with LED backlight, designed for installation on a mixer, an aerator, which is not true. This device does not have a system that fills the water jets with air bubbles and therefore it is more correct to call it a water divider with LED backlight.

    It should be noted that the aerator with LED backlight works well even with very low water pressure, but at the same time it emits a rather loud acoustic noise, which is emitted by a running electric generator. The sound emitted by the aerator is similar to the noise of a running electric motor in children's toys, complemented by flowing water from a shower head.

    When buying a backlit aerator, it should be noted that its length is several centimeters and after installing it on the faucet spout, the working area will decrease, which can create inconvenience with a shallow sink.

    The practice of using an aerator with LED lighting has shown that its service life rarely exceeds six months.

    Installing an aerator with LED lighting on a faucet

    Before installing the aerator with LED lighting on the faucet spout, it is necessary to unscrew the already installed aerator from it.

    The housing of the LED aerator is usually made of plastic and does not have edges for tightening it with an open-end wrench. Therefore, it is simply wrapped in a tap spout by hand.

    Standard sizes of water aerators for mixers

    By type of thread, aerators are available with external and internal threads. In addition, the thread can have a diameter of 20 mm, 22 mm, 24 mm and 28 mm. Therefore, before choosing an aerator, it is necessary to determine the type and diameter of the thread of the mixer spout.

    The photo on the left shows an aerator with an external thread. These are the most widely used. And on the right is located with an internal thread.

    What material to choose an aerator for the mixer

    Aerator housings for the mixer are made of plastic or brass. From above, they are covered with a decorative shiny coating and practically do not differ in appearance. Aerators with a brass body are more expensive, but they also serve for many years.

    The aerator case, made of plastic, becomes brittle over time due to changes in water temperature, and when you try to turn it out with a key from the spout of the mixer tap for cleaning, it cracks. This fact is confirmed by personal experience. Therefore, if you plan to further clean the aerator meshes with your own hands, then it is better to purchase an aerator with a brass body.

    The coarse water filter in the aerator (in the photo above, blue), which simultaneously performs the task of cutting the water flow into many thin streams, is usually made of plastic. I have not seen metal filters. There is no choice here.

    Fine meshes in the aerator, which are directly involved in the formation of bubbles in the water, are made of plastic, extruded aluminium, brass, plain or stainless steel. The choice should be stopped on grids made of brass, and preferably stainless steel. Will serve forever.

    Thus, the best choice would be an aerator whose body is made of chrome-plated brass, and fine meshes of stainless steel.

    How to clean the aerator screens from dirt and rust

    Over time, due to the content of small particles of iron oxides in tap water, they are deposited on all surfaces with which the water comes into contact. This fate does not pass and the aerator for water.

    The meshes of coarse and fine cleaning are clogged, bubbles disappear from the water flowing from the tap, and it ceases to make a characteristic hissing sound. And all the benefits that the aerator created disappear. Of course, you can replace it with a new one. But it is easy to clean the nets from dirt and rust with your own hands.

    How to remove and disassemble the aerator

    To unscrew the aerator on its body, there are two faces for gripping with a key, located diametrically opposite.

    On sale there are special plastic keys designed to unscrew the aerators. The design of one of these keys is shown in the photograph. But I suppose it makes no sense to purchase a special key that can be replaced with a standard open-end one.

    To unscrew the aerator with an open-end wrench, grab the aerator over the edges with its sponges and rotate it clockwise (when looking at the faucet from above). To prevent scratches on the surface of the case from the impact of the key, thin leather or other material can be laid between its lips.

    View of the removed aerator assembly. The design is a set of grids with very small cells, folded one after the other sequentially into a cylindrical glass. The first two plastic meshes guide the water jet and at the same time act as a coarse filter, the rest mix water and air.

    To remove the screens from the aerator body, press the screen with your finger, which is located on the side of the outflow of water. All grids will be extracted along with the cylinder in which they are placed.

    The photo shows a coarse mesh and a cylinder with fine meshes remaining in it.

    Prying with a knife blade over the edge of the spherical mesh, separate the block of coarse meshes.

    The photo shows a disassembled coarse water treatment mesh. It remains to remove the fine water purification screens from the cylinder and you can start cleaning the screens from dirt and rust.

    Cleaning the aerator screens from rust

    First you need to rinse each aerator mesh under running water using any detergent with a hard brush or an old toothbrush.

    Mechanically, small grains of sand and dirt are well removed from the grids. But a rust coating that covers the mesh cells by half or more will remain.

    To remove the remaining rust deposits, you need to use a chemical cleaning method. For these purposes, any detergent for washing sanitary ware that removes rust deposits, such as Sanoks, is suitable.

    All parts of the aerator must be placed in a suitable container and filled with detergent. After 15-20 minutes, rust should disappear from the surface of the part, otherwise you need to wait more. When traces of rust disappear, the parts must be washed in running water.

    As you can see in the photo, the details of the aerator after treatment in Sanox detergent began to look like new.

    The aerator grids must be installed in the sequence shown in the photo. It has been noted in practice that in order to be able to operate the aerator at a very low water pressure in the water supply system, the fine cleaning meshes during assembly must be oriented in such a way that the wires forming the cells of one mesh are oriented relative to the wires of the adjacent mesh at an angle of 45 °.

    After cleaning the nets, assembling and installing the aerator on the mixer, the water jet from the tap ran full of bubbles, making a characteristic hissing sound. The aerator, thanks to the cleaning of the grids with his own hands, began to work like new.

    Noise control measures

    Faucets with water aerators still have a drawback, which manifests itself when the faucet is installed in stainless steel sinks. Water with bubbles, falling to the bottom of the sink, makes its thin walls vibrate and creates more acoustic noise than without an aerator. The noise level can be reduced in a simple way. It is enough to glue a plate of microporous rubber or other porous material on the outer side of the bottom of the sink, which will dampen vibration, and with it noise.

    To select the most suitable noise-absorbing material, it is enough to open the tap and apply the material to the bottom of the sink. Then already glue the most suitable one. It is quite possible that applying a thin layer of macroflex or other foam material will also be effective. But I haven't tried it myself.

    All modern water mixers are equipped with aerators (water dividers) of one design or another. Regardless of the design, these devices need periodic cleaning. In addition to the fact that the aerator mesh filter retains all the small particles of dirt and scale circulating through the water pipes, it also gradually becomes overgrown with lime deposits.

    When is it time to clean the aerator? You will be able to understand this if the stream of water pouring from the mixer has become uneven, scattered in different directions, or has become more “rare”. You can easily cope with cleaning the aerator yourself, without resorting to the services of a plumber.

    Aerator cleaning

    In order to clean the aerator, it will first need to be removed from the faucet spout. Most often, this can be done with bare hands, or by wearing rubber household gloves to improve grip. If the aerator is twisted too tightly, then you will have to resort to using an adjustable wrench or pliers.

    The great variety of designs of mixers will not allow to fit on one page all possible options for aerators and ways to remove them. But, to summarize, we can consider the following options:

    1. The aerator is screwed onto the spout (aerator with internal thread, "mother")

    2. The aerator is screwed into the spout (aerator with external thread, "daddy")

    3. The aerator is screwed into the mixer body with a special key.

    Option number one it is easiest to unscrew: with one hand, grasp the aerator body, wiped dry, with the other, hold the spout. Rotate the aerator in a counter-clockwise direction. If your hand slips on the surface of the aerator, put on rubber household gloves and try again.

    In the event that these efforts are not enough, you will have to use pliers. Spread the jaws of the pliers so that you can cover the body of the aerator, while placing a rubber lining or wrapping the jaws of the pliers with electrical tape in several layers so as not to damage the chrome surface of the aerator.

    Use the same principle to remove aerators that twist inside the mixer. Unlike aerators that screw onto a faucet spout, an aerator with an external thread has special protrusions for a puller key.

    Therefore, if it is not unscrewed by hand (and it can be difficult to grasp due to the low height of the aerator body), use an adjustable wrench or pliers.

    Option number three also will not be difficult, unless you have lost the special key that comes with the faucet.

    If there is a key, then to remove the aerator, it is necessary to insert the key into the water outlet in the mixer, align the protrusions on the key with similar depressions on the aerator body and rotate it counterclockwise. If you still have instructions for such a mixer, follow the instructions.

    Removed aerators and their mesh filters must be cleaned of stuck particles of scale and rust moving through the water pipes.

    Clean carefully, being careful not to damage the plastic strainers installed in the aerator. Take an old toothbrush and use it to clean all the meshes of the aerator. Large particles stuck in the meshes that could not be removed with a toothbrush, try to carefully remove with a toothpick.

    If there are still particles in some cells of the grid that cannot be extracted in any way, leave them there. It is better to leave a couple of aerator mesh cells clogged than to make a hole in the mesh.

    Treat the outer mesh of the aerator with a limescale or scale remover. If the raid on the outer mesh is insignificant, you can skip this step.

    Replace the washed, cleaned and assembled aerator in reverse order. Don't forget to install the rubber gasket if it was separate. When installing, tighten the aerator firmly by hand.

    If this later turns out to be insufficient (water will leak from under the thread), tighten the aerator a little with a key or pliers. Don't overtighten it, as you will have to unscrew it more than once. Be especially careful if the body of the water divider is made of plastic.

    Attention: be especially careful and careful when reinstalling plastic aerators, which are installed in faucets using a special key. Typically, such dividers are completely made of plastic, and if you immediately begin to forcefully screw the aerator into the metal faucet without getting into the thread, you can easily damage the delicate turns of the plastic thread on the aerator body. After that, it will be problematic to twist it normally. Start tightening lightly, without pressure, by turning the key in a clockwise direction. When you feel that the aerator is twisting along the threads easily, screw it in and lightly tighten it with a wrench.

    Faucet aerator is small device in the form of a strainer, fixed on the spout of the mixer and for mixing water with air and limiting the flow without a noticeable reduction in its intensity for the consumer.

    Many owners, misunderstanding the purpose of this device, dismantle it, considering this device to be an analogue of a coarse filter and motivating it by the presence of a good one or by the fact that it limits the passage of water, while it is already underestimated. However, the aerator in the mixer, although it retains sand and salt particles, is not a filter, and removing it, the user makes a mistake.

    Functions: why is it needed?

    Small holes are placed around the perimeter of the aerator through which air is sucked in and mixed with water. As a result, foamy, saturated with air bubbles, aerated water comes out of the central part of the device.

    Nozzle Advantages:

    • the noise level decreases - water mixed with air makes less noise;
    • affordable price: the average price for a regular aerator is from 2 to 10 dollars;
    • ease of installation / dismantling and maintenance
    • saving water, which is important for owners of water meters.

    Flaw:

    • fragility, the device requires replacement every year, and if the house has old pipes, then every six months.

    Important! By creating a highly efficient jet of water, the aerator helps to reduce its consumption and improve its quality, therefore, the consumer is interested not to dismantle the device, but to monitor its good condition, that is, to clean and replace it in time.

    Aerator device

    Any aerator consists of:

    • corps
    • plastic module with filter system
    • rubber or silicone gasket

    Grids with cells are folded into a cylindrical module one after another in a certain sequence. The first two meshes direct the jet of water and simultaneously perform a cleaning function, while the rest are designed to mix water with air.

    Materials for the production of aerators:

    • metal- designs from it are the most common and inexpensive. The disadvantage is that the device quickly collapses from exposure to water and impurities, corrodes and rusts to holes;
    • polymer materials, their advantages: good quality and reasonable price, perfectly withstand the destructive effect of water. There are different designs: from simple dividers to complex "tunnel" ones;
    • ceramics and non-ferrous metals(brass or bronze) - the most expensive, are of high quality and long service life.

    Maintenance and cleaning

    For the qualitative performance of its functions, the aerator for the mixer must always be technically sound. Over time, under the influence of tap water, the impurities contained in it, salt particles and iron oxides are deposited on the surface of the filter meshes and the device ceases to perform its functions.

    Signs of a bad aerator:

    • absence of the characteristic hissing sound of flowing water
    • weak water pressure

    In this case, the device requires cleaning or replacement.
